Hello, My name is Hotsplashes and I'm a scale addict. I like to get on my scale every day. I used to get on my scale several times a day before I joined SAA.
When I get on the scale now...it's first thing in the morning. I take off all my clothes including my skivvies. Make sure I go potty first. Remove all jewellery and hair scrunchies. Then when I take that final step onto the scale, I exhale till it hurts!lolol
Thanks to SAA I now only get on my scale every Thursday. Except when fall off the wagon and maybe sneak in a weigh-in on a monday to see if I gained on the weekend. But those slip ups are rare.
My doctor has diagnosed me with isulin intolerance/resistance and has put me on a low carb diet that seems very much like Atkins and South Beach. I haven't been on it a full week and have already lost over 2 lbs.
I'd like to see all you other Scale Addicts come out and join me here !!!

Hi! Ok, I have to admit, I am a victim of the scale! I feel the need to weigh myself every morning, even though I know it's not a good idea. I have the urge to weigh more than once a day, but, don't do it. The downfall to weighing every day is that your weight will vary, as much as 4 pounds depending on water intake, salt intake, size of meal eaten, etc. I always get discouraged when I weigh in on Mondays, after the weekend at home because the scale is at leat 1 pound higher than Friday. Probably due to weekend indulgence, but, in reality, it takes 3500 calories to gain a pound, the same to lose.

Oh, Oh , OH!
Is this like a 12 step programme for scale addicts!?!
'Cause I'll tell ya Hotsplashes you are describing me to a T. I do leave on my night gown and jewelry, creep up on the scale, press down on the window sill with my right hand and s-l-o-w-l-y release the pressure allowing the scale to ever so gently get to it's spot. Hopefully at the same or a lower spot than the day before ...I figure it is relative, but other than that I do the same thing every morning.....AND many nights before I go to bed!
However I feel that allthough it is an obsessive behavior, it is a relatively harmless one. No one is affected by this except me, and I think it helps motivate me at this point. I'm less likely to lose control if I'd weighed myself that day....
I'm so comforted to know that there are at least two other persons like me out there!

Ahahaha! I do that! We are so funny.
Thanks for staring this hotsplashes!
My name is Shelley and I am a scale addict. I used to step on the scale every single morning.. but always making sure I go potty first and am nakie.. I make sure the scale is set right on the floor.. maybe give it a little bump to make sure it's working properly. Then I step on it really soft, meanwhile leaning one of my hands against the wall... (maybe that will help?) to try and take off a tiny pressure off the scale with one foot. LOL
08-29-2003, 10:44 AM
OH too funny!!! That is exactly me! And never ever ever get on the scale after taking a shower, because then the water in your hair will cause you to weigh more!!
08-29-2003, 10:55 AM
Can I join? :) I don't exactly get on every day but I have a longstanding rule of only hopping on once a week. However, I often break this and decide I need to just look so I won't have an unpleasant shock on weigh-in day! THE PROBLEM IS, many times when I am taking this peek, I don't like the number, so I get off, get on, get off, get on. I've been known to throw away the scale (literally) and go buy another one and when I get on the new one, it says the same thing, so then I just go take a nap and feel frustrated! :yikes:
Last Sunday (my ceremonial weigh-in day), I obsessed for hours because the first time I got on the scale, it showed an error message. So I got off, reset it and it gave me a believable weight consistent with what I've been losing, but I still obsessed for hours abou that error message. Now I'm obsessing in advance of Sunday that I'll be UP when by virtue of my actions I should be DOWN!
The thing is a DEMON! :yikes: :fr: ... argh!
Thanks for posting this, Hotsplashes! I enjoyed that vent!
It's a demon, I'm tellin' ya!
08-29-2003, 12:22 PM
Sometimes I will weigh myself after getting up, and again 30 minutes later. Suprisingly, I am usually .5 pound lighter 30 minutes after getting up!

Hi Hotsplashes!! I'm here, I'm alive!! I didn't realize I had to get access to the forums too, I thought I had access by signing up for the journals. I'm learning. Anyway, I posted a journal that's about a mile long :blah: but it explains why I haven't been around for the last couple of days. :tired:
Hi to all the Scale Addicts! My name is Michele, I'm a scale addict, and today I'm proud to say that I only got on the scale once. :sumo: Nah, seriously, it wasn't a gain, it might have been a real loss, but it is what it is. You know, I'm not sure getting on the scale everyday is a bad thing necessarily. If you say that "it is what it is" and let it be, instead of letting it dictate your mood and self esteem, then I think it's an ok thing to do. I'm not sure I'm there yet. So, I'm going to try to not weigh myself tomorrow or Sunday and just go with my official weigh in on Monday morning. :bomb: But, you better believe I'll be naked and have gone to the bathroom before I step on that evil scale on Monday!
Hotsplashes -- thanks so much for starting the thread and for looking out for me!! Hope you all have a great labor day weekend!

08-30-2003, 08:05 AM
Only once, I repeat ONLY ONCE, yesterday. But I've already been on this morning :s: and that  scale didn't see me comin'!
I have a couple of tough eating-type opportunity days comin' up and I think the scale thingy helps me. OK I'm an addict!
08-30-2003, 11:27 AM
Thanks for your welcome, Hotsplashie!!!
Fellow Scale Addicts, I loved reading your stories because now I know I AM NOT ALONE and others in the universe really DO worry about the weight of wet hair on the scale, take off scrunchies and weigh themselves when they get up and 30 minutes later!!! :spin:
I'm not one of those people, though, who believes the scale should be done away with altogether! I honestly do think it's a useful tool for tracking losses, but as stated before, I have come to terms with its EVIL DEMONIC NATURE    EXCEPT on Sunday mornings when it gives me a good reading, then I realize it is truly an  and my BEST FRIEND!!!
So, my challenge today is to STAY OFF THE  until tomorrow. I was having EVIL thoughts this a.m. of taking a peek to see how my new WW program is coming along, but I MUST RESIST, RESIST, RESIST!
If that  isn't an  tomorrow, though, it's outta here. It can be replaced by a tape measure! I hope it's reading this!
08-30-2003, 12:48 PM
Good Morning SAA ladies! It's a nice and cool sunny day here! I hope everyone is enjoying this long weekend so far. I'm off to see my horse and take the pups for a HUGE walk...I'll be burning off thos evil calories!
Amarantha! Congratulations on only getting on once! And YES...DON"T GET ON TODAY!!! Wait tilltomorrow! I will not be on my evil scale again until next Thursday or Friday...hopefully I can last until then!lol It's nice to know there are other folks who have "scale rituals" too!
Have a wondeful weekend ladies!!!
08-30-2003, 12:49 PM
Thanks for the welcome hot! I can see that I'll be in here lots! You all are just halarious..
Well, I broke down and stepped on the scale again today.. Like I'd loose a pound or two overnight.. right.. lol I plopped down on the couch and told hubby I couldn't believe I'm still the same after 2 weeks... He told me something that lifted my spirits a little.. he said that I may not be loosing pounds but I'm definitely loosing inches. I feel all better :) Darn that  grrrr!
Amarantha--that was funny.. "I hope it's reading this" I LMBO when I read that..
08-30-2003, 07:07 PM
Hey! I LOVE my mother's scale. I weighed myself nakie after getting out of bed and going potty, and my scale said 149.5. I went to my mom's house, and just for kicks decided to weigh myself on her digital scale. Her's said 147, with clothes! I don't know which scale to believe, but, I like my mom's better. I weighed in between 153.5 on August 1, so that would be 6.5 pounds lost in one month! My mom did say that she could tell that I have lost weight by looking at me. I haven't seen her in a month.
08-30-2003, 07:41 PM
Well, after years of addiction, I am finally in recovery. I have removed the battery from my digital scale and it has been banished to the storage area in the basement. I decided this was a ridiculous way to live when I put on an outfit that I could not get into 3 weeks ago and was thrilled, stepped on the scale and was immediately down in the dumps because it didn't show a loss. How stupid is that? I am obviously losing inches so why should that one number have such an impact on my day? No more!
08-30-2003, 09:59 PM
Hi, guys! I'm hangin' on by a thread here as Demon Scale wants me to just have a little peek. Tomorrow, though, is the day the Empress Amarantha has her Imperial Ceremony o' Stepping on the Golden Scale of Good Intentions, the best scale in all the land, that measureth good intentions as well as actual poundage!
Inches are definitely more important ... and we almost always lose inches before the scale registers anything, so anyone who's losing inches will eventually find the Joy of Scaling before too long. :)
Shelley: Your dh sounds like a winner ... who cares what the scale says, you've got your own way of measuring progress! :)
Trulyunique: Congratulations on getting into that outfit! :cp: Good job on banishing the  ... but watch out, sometimes those batteries jump right outta the trashcan and they can find Demon Scale even in the basement and when the two demonic forces reunite, they magically transport themselves back into our bathrooms and bedrooms. Just when you think it's safe ... :fr:
Holly, it's a LAW OF NATURE: the lower reading scale is ALWAYS the correct one! :spin: And mother ALWAYS knows best!!! :)
Hope you enjoyed your walk with the pups, Hotsplashes!!! Who needs the approval of Demon Scale when we have puppies and horses. (Well, I don't have a horse and my Old Dog's not a pup, but you get the concept!) :dancer:
08-31-2003, 10:22 AM
Well, good lucketh on the scaleth Miss Empress :)
Yeah, loosing inches gives us back that girly figure we once had.. he he ;)
My DH can't keep his hands off of me! LOL I'm like, where were you about 20 pounds and lots of inches ago??
He's a good man.. he's been very supportive of my diet and motivates me to get off my butt and exercise... and always gives me the best compliments :)
I have a digital scale too.. I thought about taking the batteries out of that bad boy for some time but I just can't do it.. *sigh* Kudos to you, truly, for taking that big step!
Holly, I need to find a scale like that! Mine is forever stuck on 148 and won't budge!
HEY We need to come up with "The 12 steps" of Scale addicts anonymous! Here's one! :)
1. We admitted we were powerless over the evil scale and that our temptations had become unmanageable.
08-31-2003, 12:08 PM
Well, I did have good luck, thanks to Flexpoints. A half pound is consistent with what I thought I should go down after three days on that program, so the  has become an  ... for the moment. I need to be stronger than ever to not get on until next Sunday and I feel I will be rewarded with a solid loss at that time!!!
I dunno if I should be in this meeting, 'cause right now I love my scale and feel I've taken CONTROL o' the :demon: !!!!! :)
08-31-2003, 05:46 PM
Hope i'm not too late to join in??
It took me a while to get here...
I too have a confession... Tulip is a scales addict!!! I not only weigh myself every morning, nakie after going to the potty with no jewlery, I move the scales around the bathroom until i get the best results, for some reason i'm heavier nearer to the window than by the door [something to do with the floor boards me thinks!!!] but that's the way i like it to do it :o
I'm up for a 12 step programme, what do i have to do, weigh myself ONLY 12 times a week??!! he he he:D :D :D
Glad to meet like minded SA!!!
09-01-2003, 08:42 AM
Well I snuck up on  again this morn.....down a pound. That is good. I did hop on last night for a preview before bed and things were lookin' good.
Empress A, that all wurn't no luck! That all were HARD WORK and GOOD MANAGEMENT on yure part...it's always fun when you beat that scale!
I hope that inch thing holds 'cause I should drop more then....I feel less jiggly
I need to cruise on....gotta a lot of things to do...lotta of strategies to build on how to weigh myself...never thought of moving the scale!?! I'm learnin' new stuff here!
09-01-2003, 12:05 PM
I have suffered from this cruel affliction! I had it so bad at one point that my boyfriend at the time took the scale from me and I threw an abosolute embarassing fit....I would weight several times a day (I am not controlling or obessive :) ). I now happily weight myself only once a day, and only in the morning and if I miss that time then I don't until the following day.
I used to do the bodily excavation, removal of all clothing, and the extreme exhale before weighing myself. Now I just take off the clothes (oh, and I do wait until after the bathroom) so I guess I just done do the massive exhale <giggle>.
It is nice to be able to laugh about something that I always found strange. My old bf thought it was funny and he too make me laugh about it, but I did threaten to cause him bodily harm in a most precious area!!!
Have a great day all!!
09-01-2003, 01:33 PM
After posting to this thread last night, i went to bed and resisted weighing myself just so i didn't have to own up to it on here!!! ;-)
See a problem shared is a problem halved [or what ever the saying is!!!]
Down a pound this morning so i'm really pleased...weighing myself daily encourages me to eat healthier during the day ....that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!! :-D
09-01-2003, 05:15 PM
Happy Labor Day my lovely ladies! Hope this post is finding everyone enjoying themselves!! I have not got on the dreaded scales today because I truly wanted to enjoy my day. This weekend was a tuff one as my eating was not on target. I had a two bad sugar crashes and had to eat what was at hand, a power bar and peanuts. And of course I did cheat and had a burger with a bun at the horseshow. A county fair ain't a county fair without a fairburger! But today has been good!
Welcome Rowan Baily! glad you could join us! And what an encouraging story of you being able to only weigh once a day! You are to applauded!lol The boyfriend story was a good chuckle here! Hope you will continue to visit us here at SAA!
Tulip fairy!!!! Wonderful news of the pound loss!!! Keep up the good work, and stop getting on the scale at night! You are more likely to disappoint yourself at nite. Naughty girl! BUT we are glad you came to the meeting to confess!!LMAO...GOod Going on the pound loss!!!
Ceara!! Congratulations to you too on the pound loss! What a bunch of wonderful LOSERS! we have here in SAA! I'm proud of my fellow scale addicts! Make sure you pop in again to keep us upto date on the continuing losses!!
Amarantha...glad you are becoming a regular here! I hope the Empress is Losing along with the rest of us!!!
And to all the rest of our members of Scales Addict Anonymous, I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and hope to see you all posting in here this week!
09-01-2003, 06:55 PM
OY!! I have to stop getting on the scale.. It's driving me crazy.. I am UP a pound today.. possibly due to PMS.. but still.. why do I do this to myself?! I refuse to reduce myself to a freakin' number on a scale. Although it still depresses me a little... I just want to take the darn scale and throw it in the trash! grrrrr!
09-01-2003, 10:32 PM
I'm finally here! I just figured out how to register yesterday and now I am making a "post" - I promise to be more informative next time...
09-02-2003, 11:42 AM
Hi Saidamom! Welcome to SAA! :)
Oh boy.. I have a lot of making up to do this week. I did SO bad this weekend. LOL So don't feel bad hot! I ate terribly and drank for 2 nights straight. OY! Hey, what can I say.. It was labor day weekend.. lol
I'm not stepping on the scale again until weigh in.. That's Friday.. I may wait until Saturday though.. so I can give myself a little time to loose this pound I gained back!
09-03-2003, 11:10 AM
Good Morning fellow SAAers!! Sorry to have been gone so long but farmwork kept me so busy yesterday that I was too tired to get on the puter. Sometimes I think we all need a break from the puter like we need a break from the dreaded Scales! I tweaked my diet a bit and found out that having cereal for supper doesn't work for me. Doc said to try it...I did...it didn't work. Had a hard time getting to sleep, tossed and turned even tho I was tired. Got up this morning all bloated and groggy and had weird dreams too. So no more cereal for supper. Just don't work for me!
Saidamom! So glad you finally were able to find your way through the evil mazes that the evil demon scales have set up around our little club to waylay wary travellers! It's never too late to join!! And we're just happy to have you here! Can't wait till your next post!
Empress Amarantha!! How did the Royal Weigh-in go? We are excited to hear! Hopefully none of the evil demons:devil: crept up on you!! Please log in and let us know!
Shelley, I owe you a great thanks for keeping the posting going while I was away. I make you honorary Vice President of this chapter of SAA! When the posting started dieing in the last two days, you kept it going!! YAYYYYYYY Shelley! What would I do without you? Hope you decide to stay with us!:smug:
:D :D OK LADIES!!! The Thread is dieing here!! Where's all my Scale Addicts Anonymous Members??? Let's get busy and keep this Thread on the first page!! I nearly had a heart attack when I didn't see it on the first page. Don't let me down ladies!!!!!!!!!! Let's show the world that we are a bunch of LOSERS!!!YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY :D :D
09-03-2003, 11:22 AM
Cool! I'm an HVP! :) :cb: I think this is a great topic and it definitely keeps me motivated and keeps me from stepping on the dreaded evil demon ugly scale! (Until weigh in that is)
I went to the gym yesterday and I think I over exerted myself! :faint: My body cramped and ached all night last night and I had the worst headache. :headache: I think I was just trying to make up for not going to the gym for 3 days.
I'm going to a Pilates class this afternoon. Never done Pilates in my life. I think it will be a nice break from my hard work out every day. Has anyone else here done Pilates before?
Come on guys.. Jump on in.. the water is FINE! Start posting and keep this thread busy! :comp: I'm sure there are lots of other SA's out there who would love to see this and join in :)
Hope everyone's having a great day!
09-03-2003, 12:41 PM
Well this morning i did the whole strip off chase the stupid things around the bathroom and they still told me that i'd put on a pound!!
I HATE THEM - I HATE THEM - I HATE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mind you, it is my own fault i went out on saturday night  for our end of summer staff party and ate :hun: and drank way too much
I was soooo dizzy :dizzy: the next morning i couldn't do my exercises or ride my bike!! I even had to have an emergency take out burger / fries and large soft drink to easy my pain :stars:
But to put the balance back i got up this morning and did two lots of excercise to make up for it, and my diet has been okay today too :^:
09-03-2003, 12:55 PM
Breeeeeeeeeaaaaathhhheeeeee... lol Okay so you had your fun.. Just like I did.. and I put on a pound too! All ya can do it start over the next day and put things back into perspective.. I think we're allowed our fun once in a while! Just don't give up! :)
Hot.. what kind of cereal did the doc tell you to eat? and why eat it for supper? Just curious :)
I was SO tempted to step on the scale this morning... but I kept myself busy so I just forgot about it. I was wanting to see if what I did yesterday helped anything. I would have been so disappointed and it probably would have ruined my day if I didn't see a difference.. So I'm glad I didn't!
09-03-2003, 01:03 PM
Hey Ladies!! Well, I decided to put my scale in the bathroom cupboard to resist weighing myself. I did not weigh in yesterday, or today, and am trying not to until Saturday. I ate way too much fatty food on Monday, so, didn't dare step on.
09-03-2003, 03:23 PM
Good for you, chikita! :) Then you and I are waiting until the same day.. Let's keep each other from dragging that dreaded thing out until Saturday! 3 more days. We can do it! :high:
09-03-2003, 03:34 PM
Hello! I am truly a scale addict. I just bought a scale 3 weeks ago (I'm practically a scale virgin) now I weigh myself every morning (after I pee) and again before bed every day. I also go to Curve 5x a week and weigh in there as well as once a week at Weight Watchers! Is there help for me... it really does control my mood for the day:^:
09-03-2003, 05:08 PM
Hello. My name is Zadie and I am a scale adict. And now for the past two weeks my boyfriend has taken away my scale (to his workshop to weigh stuff to estimate shipping costs for ebay) and I am going through withdrawl.
I laughed very hard at the slowly taking hands off of the window sill becuase that is exactly what I do. Also, I used to have a scale that I weighed different ammounts depending on how I stood on it or where it was placed in the room. So of course I would have to migrate with my sclae arroudn the bathroom. And then I would pick the highest weight. My new scale is very consistent, but unforgiving.
Usually I weigh just in the morning, but sometimes i will step on before bed.
I want my scale back. Is that so wrong?
09-03-2003, 06:40 PM
No Zadie K, that's OK....my scale was kittywonkers this a.m. because the male members of my family had taken it OUT TO THE FIELD AND WEIGHED THE TURKEYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was like 5 lbs heavier....talk about my heart goin' "WHOOSH!!!!" Especially since I have been excellent on my eating behavior. Was relieved when I noticed the calibration was OFF. The good news is that it behaved itself when I re-set it and that the turkeys are 22-24 lbs (hens) and 34-38 lbs (toms). So they are off shortly.
And my scale should stay in the bathroom for another year..sigh...
09-03-2003, 09:26 PM
Welcome Ideal and Zadie to SAA!! :) Glad to have you join us!
Ideal-- You control the scale.. Don't let the scale control you! :) This is the reason why I only try to weigh myself weekly.. I refuse to let a piece of metal and plastic decide what kind of day I'm going to have!
Zadie--It's not wrong to want your scale back..but maybe it's a good thing that your b/f has it! You might find that being without it for a while will do you good.. especially if you weigh yourself after it's been gone a while and you've found that you've lost a few pounds!
Ceara-- LOL!! I would have been chewing someone out!
09-04-2003, 08:08 AM
Good morning! ARGH, the scale monster won today. I stepped on and it said 148. So, now I have to try to stay off the darn thing at least until September 9, next Tuesday. I never like to weigh in on Monday, so, I guess if I can make it 5 days, it is better than weighing once a day!
09-04-2003, 10:46 AM
LOL chikita.. Well, mine won too! I couldn't resist stepping on it this morning (shame on me) but I'm down to 145! I think I lost about 3 or 4 pounds in a week.. Is that healthy? LOL
09-04-2003, 12:41 PM
Hello Fellow Members of SAA!!! Sorry I missed posting yesterday! Had a rather Odd day if you will notice in my journal. Got shot at while riding my horse! All is well now. So let's get on with today subject!! Our Scales!!lol
Thanks for keeping the thread busy during my absence Shelley!! :D Yes I too sometimes over do things in hopes to make up for the lacking the day or two before. I don't know why we torture ourselves like that when we should just be realistic and say, "Ok, I messed up a bit. Time to get back on track." Easy as that. Instead we go, "OMIDOG!!! I need to overcompensate!!! MUST OVER COMPENSATE!!" We are such silly people. And finally...... CONGRATS on that BIG weightloss!! What a wonderful loser you are!!! It's prolly alot of water...so don't fret too much! :D
Ahhhhh Dear Tulip Fairy, It's ok to fall off the wagon. The weight gain is truly only water weight and will be gone soon. We all deserve a treat now and then. Even my Doc told me that even though I am on a pretty strict eating program, I can treat myself to something I truly adore...like cheesecake...as long as it's not a daily thing. He said once a week as a reward kind of thing. And only in small doses. The headache was prolly a sugar hangover...BUT!! You RAllied Back like the LOSER That you are and hopped back on the Wagon and Back On Program!! YAYYYY TULIP!~!!! :bravo:
WHHOO HOO for Chikitababe in resisting the evil urge to step on the demon scales!! You CAN do it Chikitababe! And we're all right here rooting you on!!! :balloons:
Welcome Ideal!! I see you get in your Scale Fix in the sneaky way...at the gym and at the WW meetings! Such a smart girl you are! Wily like the Coyote!! Glad you found us! I hope you will post again to tell us how your addiction is going and what you are doing to stop the vicious cycle!lol
Welcome ZadieK!! I see you are another Scale Migrator! I too chase my scale around. We now weigh in out in the kitchen. MUCH better readings out there. And it's not wrong in wanting your scales back. The Scale can be our Friend as long as we keep our addiction in check!!lol Hope you stay with us and keep us informed of the ebay weighing and getting your scale back saga!!! Silly BF!!lol
Ceara!! You are making me hungry!! And I didn't know we had any turkey farms here in Niagara. Now I'm going to have saddle up ole Splash and start riding around looking for Turkeys in hopes of a turkey dinner!!lol Those are some nice sized critters you got there...Silly men and their bright ideas, huh? Hope you got your scale back in human order!
And now for my grand weigh-in for the week.....drumrolls please!!! 182!!! Only a pound...but considering my poor eating habits this week and the sneak preview last nite at 183....I am happy to report a loss!! YAY ME!!! See all you wonderful Losers later today or Definitely tomorrow!! Scale Addicts of the World...UNITE!!! hehehehehe :D :D :D
09-04-2003, 12:54 PM
See.. I held on to 148-149 for 3 weeks!! So I am just on cloud 9 today! :cloud9: It seems to be that way for me though.. I'll stay at a certain weight for a few weeks, then boom.. I have a big loss. Wander why that is? I remember being stuck at 158 for almost 4 weeks.. then all of a sudden I was at 153.
Heck, maybe it's my  scale trying to trick me..
09-04-2003, 01:19 PM
Hey All! Thanks for all the welcomes...it is fun to have a common and fun bond with others. My job is very stressful, so the scale is my way of feeling in control. I do believe I am a control freak...ask my husband, or even my x-husband!
Anyway, I went out last night and we didn't get our food served to us until 9pm. I hated going to bed with all that food weighing in me. This morning I was up a pound...agh! Life goes on and what comes on must come off, right???:dizzy:
09-04-2003, 01:33 PM
Well, still no scale in my house. Aarrgg.
I think one of the things that makes the scale so alluring is becuase when you weigh yourself you feel like you are DOING something. Something rather pointless, but something none the less.
09-04-2003, 02:50 PM
Hi, I'm Topaz and I'm a scale addict! :D
I so identify with all the things everyone has described. I actually threw out my scale when I moved this summer, but moved in with family who have one, oh well. Also, I've discovered a scale in a bathroom here at work and have taken to weighing myself every day there! Aack! At least with using the one at work I am starting to get over my weird weighing behaviour. I'm hardly going to take off all my clothes and jewelry at work!
(BTW, I'm new here and this is my very first post.:) )
09-04-2003, 04:39 PM
Welcome Aboard Topaz! You'll find alot of info here...tell us all about yourself and why you are at 3FC.
09-04-2003, 05:43 PM
Welcome Topaz! Always glad to have another Scale Lady among us...I think we need a token Scale Guy...but I don't think guys are as worried about their scales as we are. They are almost like children to us!!lol
See you tomorrow ladies!
09-04-2003, 09:02 PM
Welcome to 3FC, Topaz! So glad you decided to post in SAA for your first visit here! :)
Hot, you'd probably be suprised at how many men actually step on the scales like we do! I hope they find their way here if they do! LOL
I'm still on :cloud9: from this morning.. LOL I'm actually afraid to weigh myself now.. for fear that the evil  scale will change it's mind!
09-05-2003, 08:14 AM
Wakey Wakey!!! Shake a Leggy!!! I know it's early ladies...but I'm on my way to the horses and thought I'd say hello!! Gotta do horses earlier than usual today cuz I have to go to the Dr.s for my weekly check up on bloodsugar situation and my eating habits. He put me on his own version of the Atkins diet and we've been tweaking it to suit my needs. So I will post here again once I get back from the Docs!
09-05-2003, 08:49 AM
The scale is a :ink:
There I feel better. The number is still up...eventhough I've been so OP that it hurts! Oh well, the jeans are looser today than on last week end. And I still think the weight will drop off...one of these days. In the meantime, I feel like a giant vegetable! We are what we eat right?!? Then I'm a zuchini, onion, tomato medley.
Anyway, gotta scoot....didn't want Splashes to feel abandoned....hope the DR apt. went well.
So many things to do!!!
09-05-2003, 11:13 AM
Good luck at the Doc's, hotsplashes.. We'll be awaiting your return :D
ceara :bravo: on the pants being looser! I love that feeling.. That means you're loosing inches, despite what the evil pig demon scale says! ;)
09-05-2003, 12:44 PM
ceara- try dusting off the scale-if it's been in the bathroom for awhile it may have collected some dust and hair. This could make a difference!
Today's weight was down 1.5# (the dusting off helped me) (or maybe it was the bending to do the dusting) any way...have a great weekend everyone!
09-05-2003, 10:06 PM
That's wonderful Ideal!! Good thing ya dusted it off ;) lol
Hope you have a great weekend too!
09-05-2003, 10:13 PM
Maybe when it went out to the field to weigh the turkeys it picked up a little somethin'? Nah, smells the same! But maybe I'll dust it/disinfect it anyway! A little waist exercise can't hurt!
09-06-2003, 12:23 AM
Hello My wonderful Losers!!!! I have survived the day. ANd what a day it was.
Ceara!! It's how the clothign fits that REALLY counts sometimes! I've been 140 - 145 and still in a size 6!! you are just gaining Muscle!!! LOSING FAT!! Keep it up, Ceara!!! Way to go!!! :cb: :D
WOOHOO For Idealperson!! 1.5 lbs down!! YAYYYYYYYY!!!!! Heheheh the Dusting comment made me giggle! Yes...I am sure dustbunnies DO contribute to added weight...I'm Positive of it...and yes Bending to Dust DOES constitute as Exercise!!LMAO Keep up the GOOD LOSING!! :cp: :cp:
And now for Shelley, our Pep Squad Captain!! What an inspiration you are!! Thanks for keeping the posting going! And LOOK AT YOU!!! only 15lbs to go for your goal!!! Youl'll be there before Christmas!!!WooHOO think of the nice New Year's Eve outfit yer gonna buy!! YAYYYYY!!!  :dancer: :dancer:
And now for the Dr. Visit!!! Now I'm sure I'm going to get these numbers screwed up... My Insulin Level for fasting rate was 27......and my fasting blood glucose level was 4.26....or vicey versy. I told Doc that I had been on that diet he gave me for 5 days prior to the tests and he said that it could have affected the tests by possibly raising the numbers but I still showed a bit low in both. Low in the insulin is good...average is 30 to 40...average for the other number is 5-7? So I'm still low no matter how you look at it...and that is good as far as the insulin is...blood sugar is so close to normal that Doc is happy. Said I should stay on this diet pretty well forever...said my condition is hereditary...No cure...but controllable...and all thru proper eating!! Yay Me!!lol
Have a great weekend everyone...I'll stop by tomorrow!
09-06-2003, 08:20 AM
Good morning! The scale won again....somehow I am down to 146.5!! Not sure why it's down from a couple of days ago, but, I'll take it!!
Sounds like you had a good dr.'s visit. Way to go on the insulin levels. My mom has type 2 diabetes.
LOL, I didn't dare step on the scales a second time this morning when it read 146.5! I couldn't believe it myself!!
Hello to everyone...have a great Saturday!
09-06-2003, 12:32 PM
Ceara.. LOL!!
Hot--DANG! Wish I could be a size 6! LOL Oh boy how that would be nice.. I'll take my size 10/12 I have though.. I could be a 16 that I was a couple of months ago! :) Glad you had good results at the doc! YAY YOU! Keep it up! :cp:
chikita.. I've been stepping on the scale every morning.. just to make sure that I'm still 145.. and I am! LOL We are truly addicted aren't we? :D
09-06-2003, 06:54 PM
I take that back about my size! Read my journal.. the entry that says "AWESOME"
09-06-2003, 11:41 PM
Good evening everyone...just a quick entry on all the good news!
Chikitababe...stick with it...yer doing great! Is your mom on insulin? A friend of mine takes 4 to 5 shots a day...Even her dr. says if she ate properly she'd be down to 2 or 3 stabs a day.
Look at Shelley our posting Machine!! WOOHOOO And You'll be a size 6 in no time...I will be very happy to be back into size 8...of course I'll be happy with a 12 any time soon!lol
See everyone Monday...I have a HUGE all day trail rider tomorrow...Have fun ladies...I'm off to read Shelleys journal!lol
09-07-2003, 06:51 PM
I still hate my scales!!! they really don't like me at the moments, but there again i don't like me either.
I've been away from here for a good few days now as my youngest daughter has been poorly!! So i stayed at home to look after her and ate and ate and ate and didn't do any exercise as i was too busy playing nurse maid!!! My scales and my clothes are telling me i have gained more than a pound or two!!
Here's hoping i can stay on track this week !
09-07-2003, 08:50 PM
Tulip, I hope your daughter is feeling better after a pampering from her wonderful mom. And that weight gain you are feeling, alot of it is probably water. So just get back on Track and you'll do fine!
I ate well today. Cheated a bit with some soymilk - vanilla flavor- because it satisifies my sweettooth. But it's all gone now and there won't be anymore in the house until I reach goal weight. I never new how many carbs were in Soymilk until this diet my doc put me on made me check labels like crazy. One glass of Soymilk has my daily allowance of carbs. Sooooooo...no more soymilk..
I'll see everyone tomorrow!
Hope you all had a good weekend!
09-07-2003, 09:01 PM
:: dreams of size 6 :: :lol:
I'm definitely staying away from the scales for at least 7 days.. TOM decided to visit today.. LOL Though I have a docs appt tomorrow and I know they're going to weigh me.. I just won't look!! (yeah right)
Tulip -- sorry you're having such a rough time! Sometimes we have to put our life on hold to take care of our yungins. We all go through something like that and I definitelty know how you feel! I hope your daughter starts doing better soon and I'm sure you will get on track when you can! :)
09-08-2003, 07:00 AM
Good morning ladies!!!
Hi, my name's Michele...and yes I stepped on the scales bright and early this morning....and I've lost 2.5lbs!!! I am down to 180.5!!! What a way to start a new week. I kinda don't want to do weigh in on Thursday....
Shelley, yes...stay away from the scales while TOM is visiting...I ALWAYS put on 3-5lbs when ToM visits... Good luck at not looking at the scales in the dr.s office!!!
09-08-2003, 09:07 AM
HUZZAH to Hotsplashes!!!!
And Hubba Hubba HUBBA to Shelley...great picts!!!!!!!!
Am still muddlin' on, stayin' OP and watchin' that  scale play with my mind!
09-08-2003, 10:09 AM
AWESOME, Michele!!!!!! What a WONDERFUL way to start the new week! GO GIRL!! :)
Yeah I FEEL like I've put on about 10 pounds right now.. lol ugh.. so bloated and yucky
Thanks so much Ceara! :D
09-08-2003, 06:02 PM
Hi Guys thanks for your concerns,
My daughter started her new school today, fit and healthy [yeah!!] I'm back on track, my water intake was great my diet was impeccably! No exercise though... hey ho you can't have everything!!!
Also think the weight gain could be due to PMT!! oh great..that time of the month again...I'm off to look for this months victim...bye!!
09-08-2003, 08:14 PM
Ceara, those evil scales can certainly play tricks! I know mine does...up a pound in the bathroom, move the scale and down a pound in the Kitchen!lol They are masters of Illusions!
Tulip Fairy, glad to hear your daughter is all better! And GOOD FOR YOU! For being back on track. Eating correctly is the big thing. And don't forget your water intake.
Shelley, You are amazing...you'll be down to a size 6 in no time. I was a size 6 at 135/140. It's because I was very low in body fat and very high in muscle. It is all those curves and where they are placed. I bet if you put your mind to it not only will you be down to your target soon, you'll be in a size 6. It's amazing how you can weigh a certain weight yet still be a small size. When I was 140, pretty well everyone thought I was 125. And it's all because of the muscle mass. So make sure your exercise works for you!
As for my eating today...I was VERY good! LOTS of water too! AAAAANnnnnddd...I did lots of exercise...not in a gym tho. I cleaned 4 12x12 stalls, drove 3 horses a total of 12 miles...and trust me, it's NOT easy when they are "feeling their oats" after a day off from training, then I swept the barn, washed buckets and filled them (carried 3 20qt buckets 2 times each 60ft either way!lol) and boy am I sore. I need to do a lower body work out at the gym tomorrow because all the work I did today was upper body mostly. It's the shoulders that hurt and the back...but it's a good hurt!lol LEGS TOMORROW!!Lol (and my big fat butt!)
Let's keep Scale Addicts Anonymous on the front page ladies!! WOOHOOO...I'm going to be starting a new thread for us on Wednesday so look for SAA2 on wednesday!!
Have a great nite ladies!!
09-09-2003, 08:28 AM
Today I have the first of 2 training sessions for a new computer programme at work...YUCK! We all hate change eh? :?:
Am going through Dr. Phil's book slowly.
The  scale isn't budging, but at least it isn't up!... I was in your position last week Shelley...but I didn't despair and cheat so I'm expecting it to surrender and move down any day now! Or is it hours???????;)
09-09-2003, 10:12 AM
yeah.. TOM can be extremely vicious! Dude.. I'm not having any more babies.. why do I need it?? lol I wish there was something I could take to stop it.. lol
Anyway, Thank you for the wonderful encouragement Michele.. You are so sweet! I know I'll get there one day. For now, I need to be happy with where I am now. :)
Well, I'm going out of town for 3 days tomorrow. So If I don't post anymore today then I will see you gals on Saturday!! I'll miss yall!
09-09-2003, 01:33 PM
Hello Fellow Scale Watchers! I have been on program most of this week, at last night's official weigh in I was down...drum roll please.......63#!!!:cb: Today, I had a good breakfast-a raisin cinnamon English muffin with some light Peanut Butter_I love that flavor combination-and some OJ. For lunch a small salad and a weight watchers double fudge cake with cool whip free.
I have court all afternoon for a client up for parole after 15 years of max prison...should be interesting...have a great Tuesday!
09-09-2003, 02:58 PM
Thanks for the welcomes! I meant to come back earlier but had kind of a hectic week. I'm a single mom, I work full-time and go to school part-time, so sometimes it's hard to find time for myself, but I want to be healthier for my DS's sake, to be a better role model for him as he enters his teenage years. I'm walking quite a lot, drinking lots of water, and "eating right," and not-quite-often-enough working out with free weights. I am a major chocoholic and am quite unwilling to give that up for anything (chocolate does TOO taste better than being thin feels, lol) but have been trying to limit myself to just a bit of dark chocolate occasionally, as a treat or reward.
Weighed myself today and have lost NOthing this week. Sometimes I hate the scale SO much...but I can't stay away from it! I'm addicted, all right! Oh well. I've lost 17 pounds since the end of May, so I guess I'm doing OK, overall. But now I'll probably want to jump on the scale again every day this week, in case I should be below last week's weight, so I can record a loss for this week. ;)
09-09-2003, 04:16 PM
I HUUUUURRRRRTTT....started my new job as an assistant trainer of a big racehorse facility....I tell ya...lots more muscles used with the harness horses than with riding horses. My back and shoulders are killing me. But I keep telling myself, "Think of all the calories you are burning! Think of all the muscle you are building! Think how much weight you are losing!"
That keeps me from whining too much.
Ceara, I do believe we are neighbors!lol I live in the Banana belt too!lol The SCale isn't up??YAYYY that's a good thing...I find that when I don't gain, and I just sit level for a bit...I stay away from the dreaded scales and my next weigh in I'm down more than expected. Shake up your eating plan or your workout/aerobics plan...that'll help. Keep up the good work!
Topaz! Glad to see my fellow ONtarian back...I know we have a few more here at SAA, just haven't seen them lately! You are ONE BUSY LADY! I wish my sister and brother in law had your outlook, losing weight not only for yourself, but thinking of your children's future. Both my Sis and bro in law are SEVERLY obese. sis is only 4'7 and weighs nearly 200lbs...bro in law is 5'7 and weighs in at nearly 300. Find time for yourself even if it after the kids are in bed. Skip a day of school if neccessary just to get your batteries recharged. Tell your teacher you have to go away for work and ask for the assignments ahead so you can do them at home.
IdealPerson!! WOOHOO on the Loss! Way to go!!! And a law maven in our midst. Hmm I wonder if you could sentence all Demon Scales to life imprisonment in a closet or something? As for bagel/spread combos....I love blueberry bagels with Strawberry creamcheese! Keep up the good Losing Strategy and good luck in Court!!!
**SniffSniff** Buhbye Shelley! We'll miss you!! Send us a post card!!lol And get us tacky tshirts!! Enjoy yourself! And we'll see you Saturday!
OK LADIES!! Since Shelley is leaving us for a few days....It's up to US to keep SAA on the front page of the Message Boards!! Let's see all the rest of our scale addicts out there posting! See you all tomorrow!!!
09-09-2003, 05:25 PM
Hey, I'm back, the court case was denied with a 20 min. discussion. Sometimes life is so fun! For those with the chocolate gene running high-try the weight watcher's double fudge chocolate cake (sold at Wal-Mart by the frozen pies). It is only 3 points, warm it up and with cool whip free on top it is so good.
09-09-2003, 05:31 PM
Hey SAA ladies! Sorry I've been MIA for a while. I've been pretty :dizzy: crazed with stress lately. I've still be getting on the scale just about every day though. And it's not making me very happy. :fr: I need to get focused on me. Make me a priority - that is, eating right, drinking water and exercising. I'm going to really try to stay committed to taking one day at a time this week and not looking at the scale again until Monday. Anybody with me? It's just 5 days. We can do it, can't we?
09-09-2003, 09:41 PM
Ideal, you bad girl! Tempting me off my Doctor's prescribed Diet!!lol I'll have to ask him if I can have that. Probably too many carbs...and too much sugar. I am resorting to awful protien bars. Fake chocolate....but for now they are filling the void of real lchocolate. When I hit 175, I'm going to treat myself with a piece of cheesecake from my local bistro. And it'll have chocolate on it!!lol
I'm with ya, Aussie! I weighed myself yesterday so I won't weigh myself again until Monday! I want a big surprise when I step on the scales after all this hard work I'm doing at the farm!

Please don't sentence ALL scales to life imprisonment....I really can't live without them at the moment!!!
How about just sentencing the ones that show a weight gain???? :^: :^: :^:

Hi Aussie Bikini, I'd love to support you.....but as for joining you in not looking at my scales until Monday!!! NAH....couldn't do it..please see previous post..
I NEED MY SCALES DAILY otherwise i just forget to diet and scoff chocolate allday!!!
No willpower me...not an ounze...without jumping on my scales first thing in the morning!! It sets me up for the day, if i'm up (lbs) i'm really careful all day, and if i'm down (lbs), i get motivated to keep on track!!!
Nothing stopping me supporting you tho- so an email dedicated solely to you, daily until monday will be coming your way!!
09-10-2003, 07:23 AM
Hope the job is going well, sound like it's giving you a daily workout!! :D I could do with a job like that rather than sitting on my bum for most of the day!!:(
09-10-2003, 07:25 AM
Here's the first of your support emails........
Day one....Hope you kept off those scales today:cp: if you did your a better man than me as i didn't!!!!
09-10-2003, 09:06 AM
The  scale was definitely headed in the right direction this a.m....I hadn't given up but it hard with the internal dialogue goin' why are you stayin OP? It isn't reflected in this :ink:  scale...however as a couple of you pointed out...it was being reflected in my clothes, so some motivation was there... I am on Day 17 OP today...and I need to step on the scales every day at least once...an addict I know, but it is a non-harmful addiction for me...more of a motivational technique. I seem to be in a reverse 12 step programme here....
Some good news....my nylons don't pinch so much
09-10-2003, 09:11 PM
Hey Tulip Fairy -- What's that saying about good intentions??? No, that evil scale called my name again loud and clearly this morning. And it showed a gain of a pound, which just isn't possible with all the water I drank yesterday. Oh, the rationalizing we do for ourselves! :D I will try to resist tomorrow morning, but it's SO hard!!! :crossed: I don't know why I do this to myself -- you know work is so stressful and everything else so I should just ease up on my fitness goals so I don't feel totally defeated, but no -- instead I eat everything in sight and expect the  scale to reward me! No wonder I don't see any progress
09-11-2003, 02:10 PM
Just reporting that I chased the scale around the bathroom a little this a.m. and it is behaving :s: Still.

Oh dear Aussie Bikini, you should have worn ear plugs!!! Never mind tho - don't beat yourself up it's not the end of the world...like Ceara says it's a non-harmful addiction!!
I answered my call from my scales also [although i knew i would!] and am still the same at the mo - but since it is TOM i'm not too worried.
See how you get on tomorrow!!!:)
09-11-2003, 04:40 PM
sorry I missed yesterday, but I was in the hospital...had a horse wigout on me and I got dumped....pretty bad...sprained hip, grade 2 concussion, etc etc....
So walking is not a good thing right now...I get dizzy and fall down....I hope all this bedrest and couch time doesn't put on the weight....I am still eating properly tho....
Sorry this message is so short, but this concussion is a doozie...
Hopefully see everyone tomorrow!
09-11-2003, 07:46 PM
Hotsplashes -- take care of yourself, I hope you're not in too much pain and get over your sprain and concussion quickly!
As for me and the scale -- today, I actually did not weigh myself. But don't congratulate me -- it was total avoidance! I have been eating like a crazy person lately. :stress: Ignorance is bliss!!! :twirly:
09-12-2003, 02:49 PM
Hey! :drill: Where did everybody go????? Day 2 of not getting on the scale for me! But, I'm leaving the denial wagon today and getting back to eating right. Will my addiction to the scale return? Probably ;)

I'm here Bikini...but coz of the time difference and the late hour of my post [9:15 pm] it looks like i'm not around!!! does that make sense??? :spin:
Glad to see your back on track...i don't weigh myself when i've pigged out either!!!
I weighed myself this morning and managed to get a 2lb loss by standing by the window!!!!!! go figure!! :dizzy: :D :smoking: I'm not complaining as i'm probably going to put on some this weekend as it's my birthday :gift: :balloons: :hb: on Monday and i have a dinner :hun: party on Saturday, a parish picnic on Sunday :corn: then a family tea party on Monday!! whooo hooo, not good for the diet!!
Poor you Hotsplashes, hope you feel better soon, keep eating properly and the lack of exercise won't make too much of a difference!!! :)
Due to the excess planned eating programme, i'll be away until Tuesday....until then fellow losers!!
09-12-2003, 06:53 PM
good afternoon ladies...I am up and about...slowly but surely...the nauseau is gone, the diziness comes and goes. I'm still limping and my whiplash makes my head feel like a ton of bricks. I got on the scale today and it was up to 182. Now I know I can't gain two pounds with what I've been eating...then I realized...Aaahhh yes...I get a visit from TOM this weekend...which explains the reason why I can't get my rings off today!lol
Good thing is tho...I can see my ankle bones! I also think I'm gaining muscle with all the physical work I've been doing.
Have a good time Tulip!!
Aussie, keep up the good work and watch what you are eating!
Shelley is still LOA, and Ceara and the rest of you gals...See you sometime this weekend hopefully!
09-13-2003, 04:22 PM

The scale read 145.5 today WOOHOO!! I probably shouldn't get too excited, I am sure by Monday it will be back up again, lol.
09-13-2003, 11:28 PM
evening ladies...finally mobile enough to get on here and say helloooooooooooo....glad to see us all still posting...
Thanks for all the well wishes...it seems to be working! I won't be on tomorrow...so I'll see everyone on Monday!
09-15-2003, 10:19 AM
Had a great weekend at Goodells MI...dog show. Stayed in a trailer with a dear friend of mine and had a wonderful, relaxing time....ready to get back to business here. And I managed without my daily weigh-in, or two, or many :s:
On Day 22...today....stayed OP all weekend...easy 'cause my friend is also eating quite sensibly. Can't eat what you don't have right!?!
Scale is also being a model scale.... scale I'm down 2 lbs since Friday. So glad...I like these lower numbers and the looser jeans!!!!! :s:
Hotsplashes..sorry to hear of you accident...horses are so big and I admire anyone who works with them....hope your beautiful colours fade soon!
Yeah to Chikitababe for the great numbers! :cp:
Aussi...you'll just have to give into your addiction and hop on the  scale....after all who knows? It may be an ?
Tulip...enjoy the break, then back to the wheel...Happy Birthday :hb:!!!!
Anyway, gotta go...many miles to walk before I sleep!

HEY YALL! :) Gosh, I have a lot of catching up to do.
I had a great time on my little mini vacation but I totally went off of my diet and I haven't worked out since last Friday. I did step on the scales this morning and I'm only up 2 pounds.. Which is suprising considering how much I ate!! lol But I'm getting back on track this week and I'm planning on working out every day this week and eating right.
Michele.. glad to hear our well wishes are making you feel better :D How are you doing today?
Tulip.. Happy Birthday hun!! Hope you have/had a good one! and congrats on the loss!! You loser! :D
Chikita.. AWESOME! Good for you! You are almost at your goal!! That rocks!!
okay gals.. I'll be in and out all day.. so I'll check back when I can.

Oh meant to say congrats to you too, Ceara!!!! :) Gosh, all these losers around here.. what am I going to do with you? ;)

Happy Monday!!! I weighed 143# today, I weigh in at Weight Watchers tonight and I'm going to Curves this afternoon and will weigh in there too! No addiction problems here...right???
I'm having a check in with my boss today about the stress level of my job, I'm on my sixth cup of coffee :yikes: I'm about to jump out of my skin or bite some one's head off! Do any of you have stressful jobs...I started this new position in July and keep hoping it will become easier (I am the only female supervisor in the Probation, Parole and Pardon dept.) we deal with alot of serious crimes, grieving families, and disgruntled victims. Help!!!:^:

I finally lost ONE pound, after not losing any last week, pout pout. I only weighed myself about four or five times between now and then, lol. I have not really been working as hard as I could as far as my exercise and eating. Yesterday I was super-lazy all day and then had pizza and a brownie at dinnertime.:nono:
Idealperson, that sounds stressful all right! I'm lucky that my job (boring office work) isn't usually too bad in the stress department, but this morning I had to meet with the accountant, which stressed me out just worrying about it as he usually only meets with me to point out my mistakes! It went OK though, and most of the mistakes were his fault. But then I was 2 hours late doing all the rest of my work because of that. :headache:

What a bunch of wonderful losers we have here at SAA!!! I am soooo proud of ALL of you!! Including you, Shelley. You deserved a break. Happy Birthday Tulip! Ceara, what kind of dogs do you show? I breed and show JRTs. Love my doggies I do...and my kittie and my own horsie who is nice and never hurts me!lol...
I got on the scale today, down from my scary up. still not back to normal tho...but as I said...TOM is visiting so I count any gain as water weight right now. Plus I think I've probably gained some muscle weight. SO I have to look at the bright side...
Muscle weighs more than fat....Muscle burns more calories than fat....MY JEANS are Much looser!
Once my head and shoulders and hip don't hurt so much....I'll post better posties for you guys!
Take car folks!!

What a Monday!
The computers at work average an up time of 20 secs to 2 minutes...we are an online thing...and the telephone lines are full of garbage(according to the DSL guy) and of course Bell hasn't shown up yet...since Saturday!!!!!!!!
I'm a little frustrated...I think I will hop on and off the scale for a while after work  ...because what I really want is an alcoholic drink...and I 've been clean since the last Monday in August, whatever date that was!
Splashes...I occasionally breed and generally show Bouviers. Big dogs who can do their best to trip you up...they think they are herding you but........
Back to work...back to the exercises in frustration!!!!!!!
09-16-2003, 10:39 AM
Oh girl.. We have been having nothing but trouble with our dsl/phone lines... at home that is.. so I know your frustration!
Well... I think I know why the scale was up.. TOM just left yesterday.. and I had completely forgotten (in all the rucus around here) about that.. and that you gain water weight. LOL So.. I get on the scale and what does it say??
144!!!!! :cb: :cb:
I was 148 when I first came home from my trip on Friday....147 on yesterday... now 144.. :)
14 more pounds to go!!
okay.. I have some errands to run probably all day.. I'll catch yall later!

Thank you Tulip, for the kudos! :)
Hopefully I can keep on track this week. I'm sure I can though.
It's pretty hard to believe that I've lost this much weight and wearing a size 9/10 now. Wow... boggles my mind.. lol.
Glad to hear you had a good birthday, Tulip!! Hey, I drink alllllll the time and I still manage to loose the weight.. LOL but I mostly drink diet coke and rum..
Congrats on your 2lb loss.. That's totally awesome! You will reach your goal by then, I'm sure of it!! Keep up the GREAT work!

Feeling much better and got the ok from the Doc to get back on the horses today!
AND LOOK AT ALL OUR WONDERFUL LOSERS!!!
Congrats to everyone!! And yes I cheated and got on the scale this morning...and lo and behold....I am down to 179!!! YEs...I KNEW TOM was the culprit! So I am glad to say that I am a LOSER too!
Welcome Kathleneb! Don't get discouraged! You have already started on your trip down the losing path and are doing well! 10 pounds is an AWESOME start! I'm glad you found us! We are a fun bunch, Ain't we Ladies!!!! Hope to see you around on a regular basis, Kathleneb. I love the sticker idea....Now that those new Stick-it Notes are out..the super strong ones...maybe I should start doing that!!lol
See you all later today ladies!! HAve a GREAT ONE!!
09-17-2003, 09:18 AM
Mornin' all...welcome to Kathleneb....don't let those numbers discourage you....10 lbs is a wonderful start, and you are on your way...the scale is a tool, and we sometimes consider it a  but it is only one thing....I place more emphasis on how my underdrawers feel than what it sez....however, it is confirming when it goes down...and it will!!! It already went down 10 for you!!!!! :cp:
I fed my addiction both, actually all three days this week and chased the old  around the bathroom...it is behaving itself :s:
Jeepers Shelley, you are gettin' close to your goal....way to go....what is your planned arrival date?
And 9/10/
I used to be a 9/10 :rolleyes::shrug: and I will again!!!!
Glad you are recovering Splashes....I gotta roll myself along
 to All!
09-17-2003, 01:59 PM
Hi Kathlene! Welcome! :) Have you tried putting the scale away in a not so easy place to get too and dedicate one day out of the week to weigh yourself? It's easier said than done, I know.. but it does help.
Ceara-- Well, I had planned for Halloween or close too.. but I don't think I can loose 14 pounds by then. So I'm gonna say Thanksgiving. :) Gawd, the day we eat tons of food too.. LOL
and yes you WILL be a 9/10 again. I never thought I'd be saying that I was that size.. but I am! Now if I can just say I'm a size 6!! LOL
Michele-- Darn that TOM! They should put warning labels on scales that says "Warning! Do not use during TOM" he he
but congrats on your loss!! Yipee!!! :cb:
09-17-2003, 10:55 PM
Howdie Ceara! Glad to see you fed that addiction..sometimes we just HAVE to...!lolol You WILL be a 9/10 again! I have faith in you!
Shelley, good thing your Turkey Day is further off...if you canadian you'd only have about 3 weeks to lose those last few lbs!lol I believe you WILL do it! Just up the exercise, down the bad foods...and chase the demon scale around the house until it gives you the reading you want!lol
I'm going to start the new Thread right after this...so I hope to see you ladies on it tomorrow!
PS...I bought a new pair of jeans tonite....I'm down a size!

At the moment i like chasing my scales around the bathroom on a daily basis, had a bit of a scare this morning tho.... :yikes: :yikes: :yikes:
I was at the point where i was lowering myself on to scales and watching the digital read out go up when it carried on going up by over 2 stone!!!!!    I jumped off them as if my bum was on fire!!!
Hubby had crept in to the bathroom and put his foot on the scales without me knowing, he thought it was the funniest thing hes seen in years!! I didn't!!
I can see the funny side of it now but at the time i nearly killed him:rollpin: :rollpin: :rollpin:
