What do you think after trying it???
Weight Watchers - FlexpointsView Full Version : Flexpoints bandit2 08-26-2003, 01:24 PM What do you think after trying it??? CIN 08-26-2003, 03:05 PM I love Flexpoints. It is the same with a different mindset. I think I will try and save Flexpoints for weekends and have plenty. I always find that I eat more planned meals during the week anyway! I like the structure of the week and some freedom on the weekend so it will be perfect! The new material is awesome! Cin;) Kelly_S 08-26-2003, 04:19 PM Cin is so right. Nothing really has changed except for how things are counted: They want you to get to your minimum daily, eat any activity points you earn then use your flex points. If you look at the FlexPlan this way: you have a minimum to eat just like before. you have a maximum to eat just like before by dividing the Flex Points over 7 days gives you a 5 point range to work with...if you don't eat them push them to the next day or spread them out over your remaining days or don't eat them at all. The only difference now is you use your activity points on the day you earn them and you use them before you start using your Flex Points. If you have been doing Winning Points nothing but the way it is counted has changed except they went back to when 1-2-3 Success was in place and people ate higher and lost better until they started to abuse the fiber and that rule they are keeping and not changing back. If you are concerned about the addition of the 14 points per week: I have a friend who consistently ate 1 range about where W/W suggested her to and she now maintains on 35-45 points a day because of this. I know someone who ate in the 18-27/25 range the entire time and she maintains on 22 points a day if she goes over that she gains. Which person would you rather be? Jenny523 08-26-2003, 04:28 PM I think the FlexPoints program is a winner. Journalling is simpler. The "checkbook" format with points being deducted as they're used makes so much more sense. I love the way the Week 1 book, "Getting Started", was re-written. For someone like me, who has joined so many times I've lost count, a new approach like FlexPoints has proven to be very inspirational. bandit2 08-26-2003, 05:16 PM Has anyone gotten in a full week and weighed-in on this???? Thanks to above for your postive input :-) Jenny523 08-27-2003, 12:35 AM Not yet, will let you know the good news on Monday ;) Kelly_S 08-27-2003, 01:35 AM Actually the only thing I really hate about FLEX POINTS is the new journal. Luckily I picked up several of the old journals last week at my meeting. I am going to ask my leader if there are any of those left. I will more than likely take as many of them as I can. aleka 08-27-2003, 07:13 AM I also was wondering how everyone likes the new flexpoint system. I've been lurking in the forum when I knew WW was going to change the way they counted points, so hope you don't mind me popping in. But, I got something in the mail from WW with coupons to rejoin and I'm trying to make up my mind whether or not I want to. I did join last Sept. and lost 12 lb., but went on vacation in Feb. When I got back I just couldn't get back into the swing of things and stopped going to meetings. I have gained back everything except for 3 lbs. :( Have a good day everyone. bandit2 08-27-2003, 10:23 AM Kelly, I also don't like the new journal. Find not enough room for detailed journalling. Have a good day, everyone. Clairew9x 08-27-2003, 11:43 AM I haven't been able to get to a meeting as of yet, could you let me know the point range with the new program for 175-200 lbs? mauvaisroux 08-27-2003, 01:58 PM I think you have a daily target of 24 points only plus your 35 Flex points that you get to use over the course of the week. But don't quote me on that as I just got the new package on Monday and I only get 22 points :( I am having a little trouble with the new journal but I think it is just a matter of adjusting to the new system. I got home yesterday and realized I had only 4 points left for dinner  so I had to dip into my flex points which I am trying to save for the weekend. Kelly S- if you run out of the old journals just do a double sided legal size photo copy of one and fold along the seams - I did that when I was doing WW on my own and couldn't attend meetings because of my job. lalala 08-27-2003, 02:34 PM I really like the new journals, but I wish they weren't so flimsy. I do like the register approach. Its just hard to start the day with 20 pts. You can bet your sweet peas that I am earning and using my 4 activity points. lala lalala 08-27-2003, 02:40 PM dupe. oops. Karen L 08-27-2003, 11:28 PM You should be able to but the new QuickTrak 12 Diary at your meeting. The lines are larger and you can write more detail if you want. Kelly_S 08-28-2003, 01:43 AM I actually have one I have done on the computer. I put in my info and it totals and stuff for me. I am just a 'b*Tch*' when it comes to the actual thing! :) Thanks for letting me know it works on legal size paper...I tried once but it cut things off. alteaon 08-28-2003, 10:11 AM I am currently doing the Winning Points at Home thing now, but I'm going to a meeting after work to find out some more info on this flex points. I like the idea of being able to have extra points for weekends and stuff, so if you go out to eat or something, you don't have such a tendency to blow the diet. I"m quite excited. Now I just have to make it through work Jenny523 09-03-2003, 11:08 AM As I said before, I feel the new version of the program is a winner. I am using and really like the 12 week QuikTracker I purchased at my WW center. In the "old" method of journalling, I'd be looking at my total points used and think, "look how many points I've used"; with the new deduction method, it's become, "look at how many points I've got left!" It's like money in the bank, I'm much stingier when it comes to spending it. Just a mind game? probably, but it's working so far. I lost 5.2 pounds in my first week on FlexPoints :D Irishgirl 09-03-2003, 05:44 PM Originally posted by bandit2 Has anyone gotten in a full week and weighed-in on this???? Thanks to above for your postive input :-) Yes and I stayed the same  So frusterating!! bandit2 09-03-2003, 05:56 PM Irish - better than a gain like me last week. With Mon being a holiday I might go to WW tomorrow, because if I am still going up I have to do something different. Have a great night, bye for now. Kelly_S 09-04-2003, 01:38 AM My first week officially doing Flex and I lost 3 pounds. I used all but 14 FP before weighin (the remaining 14 after for a slice of pie) and all of my AP over the course of the week. It reminds me of a better balanced 1-2-3 Success when I had more success. When I tried Winning Points is when I couldn't stay OP. bandit2 09-04-2003, 10:24 AM Kelly, nice loss. Keep up the good work. choosewell 09-05-2003, 08:58 AM Which version of WW was it that I got an extra 350 calories a week...I think that's how much it was. It was based on weight and success during the week. I think it was that much because a friend and I figured out the "best buy" calorie wise was Milky Way Darks (which were fairly new then). I'm dating myself. I know, I know....no one else will! :) choosewell Kelly_S 09-05-2003, 09:52 AM I remember the 350 optional calories too. I divided them also by 7 days and it didn't come out to much! LOL! Especially when we had to use optional calories for things like ketchup! bandit2 09-05-2003, 10:53 AM Did another week on flexpoints - did target plus 20 of my flexpoints, basically no activity and was down 2.4#. So I was pleased with that. alteaon 09-11-2003, 10:30 AM I have yet to lose pts on Flex, but I haven't gained either. I gained a bit yesterday because I ate out of nervousness. Sweet thing was, even though it seemed like I was binging, the flex points saved me. I didn't want to use them, but it's wier that I didn't fall off of plan. I didn' work out today because I"m just too tired. Fiance had to work late and didn't get home until around midnight- later than I expected. As soon as he called to say he was leaving work, I stopped eating. Funny thing is, the food wasn't satisfying at all....easier to stop. So, yeah, I weigh 152 on this fine day, but I also learned about my eating habits, too... a_marie 09-15-2003, 12:08 AM My point range for Winning Points was 18-23, so my target would be 20 points, if I'm not mistaken. So this week, over 7 days, I ate a total of 168.5 points. 20 x 7 is 140, and 168.5-140 is 28.5. So, am i correct in saying that this week I used a total of 28.5 out of my 35 Flex Points? I just want to make sure I'm following this new plan correctly becuase I never formally got all of the info. Thanks in advance. Loosinit 09-16-2003, 03:03 PM You figured right. You can also earn Activity Points and use them. The rule is, that you may eat them on the day that you earn them ...so if you earn 3 AP's today, you may eat them today ...you don't have to subtract from your flex points ...you may not carry your AP's over to the next day. a_marie 09-17-2003, 08:20 AM Ok, I understand it now. Thank you! I just wanted to make sure becuase it almost seemed like i was eating too much, like it was too good to be true. :) vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
