Default Plateaus

I am three days away from Phase 2 (thank God) and have been reading threads about how the weight loss seems to stall at this point for some people. Those of you who have been on Weight Watchers may remember an unofficial plan called the Wendy's Plan (I think). This concept tweaked the official plan so that you had high point days and low point days. This seemed to move people off of plateaus and create steady weight loss.

The Bill Phillips program had a similar logic in that you ate on program for six days then had one day off program. This was so your body didn't adapt to the number of calories you ingested.

What I am wondering is whether this might apply to the SBD as well-in truth any program. I know that most of my loss took place toward the end of my first week on Phase 1, and that it has stayed the same now for almost five days. I know that I struggle to reach 1200 calories on Phase 1 unless I eat A LOT of cheese. I am just wondering if my body has adapted to the number of calories and I need to shake things up a bit when I reach Phase 2. I don't mean going off program, just consciously varying my food intake from day to day.

What do you all think?

I have only been losing every other week now that I am on Phase 2, but I am more concerned with eating healthy than losing weight.

I consider the weight loss my gift and eating healthy my goal.

Hopefully someone else can answer your question.

I've read about the Wendy Plan, and I think it makes a lot of sense physiologically. I've been kind of doing that, in an informal kind of way, eating more some days and a little less on other days. I've been slowly easing my way into Phase 2 for 3 weeks now, and I've lost weight each week on this Phase. The first week in Phase 2 I lost 1.5, the next week 1, and this past week 2 pounds. The weight is coming off slower in this Phase that it did in Phase 1, but this is a much healthier rate of loss....1-2 pounds a week is the healthiest way to lose weight.

I think what you need to do is to experiment a little and find what works best for you and your body. Different things work for different people...the same way that different foods affect different people differently. Good luck!!!
