Thumbs up Wednesday March 2 Humpless, so far ...

Despite wild reports about another mega-storm, we just got a sparse inch of pebbly snow so no shoveling will be needed. Who makes up these dire warnings? An inch is not the same as the 12" they've been moaning about!

"Summary
Hazardous winter driving conditions continue early this morning. Snow, at times heavy, continues and could be mixed with ice pellets or freezing rain early this morning. Visibilities may be reduced in snow and local blowing snow. Total snowfall amounts could be in the 5 to 10 cm range by by the time the snow tapers off this morning."

Spent a quiet at home day yesterday, making sad phone calls to Shirl's friends but also got caught up a bit with deskwork. The rum cake stuff is still sitting out on the counter and I'll whip it together later this morning. I don't bake in my jammies. The cake will go into the freezer to be taken to Quilting on Monday. (It freezes like a dream and cuts when frozen. No, I won't post the recipe since it's food porn but check out Bacardi Rum Cake on the Net and PM me if you want my tricks.)

Looks like Jazz and I will be able to do Pet Therapy this afternoon despite the dire weather warnings. I'll hit the bank and grocery sore on the way home since I really need some fresh veggies - cabbage salad just doesn't cut it.

Raising my mug in a toast to a hump-free day!

I bake in my jammies .

Glad to hear you and Jazz going out for pet therapy, I don't hear about that nearly as often!

BTW - we were supposed to get some rain and snow too, it skipped us. But it sure is a Windy Wednesday!

Oh - and Kalyn's Kitchen posted a chicken and cabbage salad yesterday that looked delish. How does that sound?

I *really* need to catch up on some niggles that I have been unmotivated to do. Do you think I'll get some of them done today? Any bets?

I spoke too soon - schoolbuses just cancelled and we have a mess of ice pellets happening. That means Pet Therapy is cancelled AGAIN! since volunteer drivers don't bring the clients when the buses are cancelled. Seems to me I've only done pet therapy once since Christmas.
Chicken and cabbage salad sounds OK. I do have a cooked chicken breast on hand so ... off to check the recipe.

Good morning,

We did not get the predicted snow either just woke up to a cold morning. DH is sick so I ran DD2 to school this morning but I am also dealing with a bath tub that won't drain this morning. Trying to work on it and do wfh as well today. I will tackle it some more after my 8 a.m. call. Sure do hope I can fix it myself and don't have to call a plumber. The last time I did they gauged me for $500 to unblock (crazy and won't be calling them).

Ruth stay warm today sorry pet therapy was called off again

Tywnn hope you get your niggles done

Have a great day everyone

Good morning Ice pellets and a two-hour delay here this morning. I really needed that extra sleep. Any Wednesday I can start later is a good Wednesday. Now I'm off to school. I'm sure the kids will be wound up!

Good morning!

Snow is lightly falling here but not too cold.

Pearlrose, I hope you are able to get your bathtub unclogged. I hear you plumbers are so expensive.

My Bing is not doing so well today. I have put the call into Kirk but does not look good like good travel weather. I'm glad I don't have to work these next few days. I had to pretty much force feed his pills this morning. I am hoping they will kick in then he gets more comfortable. I will just stay home today. Sure love that little guy but he set a really good life since he came here.

Debbie, so sorry your darling Bing is not doing well but I know he is in good hands at your house. I'm glad you are off work so you can comfort him.

So I let Bing go today. I talked to our local vet clinic at 10:30 this morning and it was either noon today or 1 PM on Friday. He was not getting enough oxygen and I just knew in my heart that 48 hours was only going to make things worse.

Poor Kirby and I just wandering around the house. Decided to hop in the car and go to Glenwood. Kirk is devastated and tomorrow is his birthday. Don't want him to spend it alone. The pool is closed today for maintenance. Too bad soak would be wonderful right now. It will be open tomorrow.

See y'all then.

Afternoon, chicks.
We are also in the category of "those who did not get the dire weather that was predicted". No foot of snow, only a couple of inches but there was a layer of ice on my windshield this morning that took FOREVER to scrape. No delay or snow day however. Oh well, it is just as well since we have had so many lately.

Ruth, sorry you missed pet therapy again. I would think the residents miss it also.

Tammy, did you accomplish any of your niggles?

Pearlrose, were you successful with the drain? I remember the last time we had to call a plumber. Ugh; what a bill.

Cyndi, were the kids crazy today? I can't tell you how much I enjoyed my extra sleep when we had a 2-hour delay Monday!

Debbie, sorry to hear about Bing.

I guess I've got to go deal with the niggle called dinner.

Debbie so sorry to hear that you had to put Bing down today. to you.

I was successful this morning in unclogging my drain by myself, still don't know what caused it but as long as it's working again not going to worry about it.

Debbie - I think Bing was the luckiest pup to have you. Hugs to you and DH with your loss of such a special friend.
