Default Water?

Sorry if this has been asked and answered!

What counts as water (other than water)?

Does iced tea or hot tea count?
TIA

Not sure about anyone else, but I count it as long as it's 0/0/0.

Herbal tea also counts as water - cold (summer iced style) or hot. Probably best not to count caffeinated beverages as water since they can act as a diuretic. Sparkling waters 0/0/0 also count although the CO2 may leave you bloated & gassy (not something to drink before you get measured, lol).

I only count my water as water - but I will usually have a sparkling water with dinner.

I personally count only my water and consider everything else a "bonus." That way I know I'm staying fully hydrated.

I would say 0/0/0 and no caffeine is acceptable to count as water.

I can share that I did the first 7 months of my IP journey (losing about 70 lbs) using Sobe Lifewater as my daily water source. I thought a bottle had 0.8 carbs... but I was reading it wrong it was 8.0 carbs per bottle. I probably would have lost faster without that extra 20 or more carbs daily...

Now, I take one bottle of Sobe Lifewater and cut it with regular water to create 4 20 oz bottles of water for the majority of my IP intake. I try to have at least one regular water on top of that... I should be drinking at least 90 oz daily at my current weight.

I can also share that I found that the IP guidance on taking in additional water to equal any caffeine intake that exceeds one cup daily is very helpful to maximize speed of loss. Drinking a lot of coffee without matching it cup for cup with water slowed losses for me just as the 'hidden carbs' did.
