Default Today I got my...

referral from my PCP so that I can go chat with the surgeon! I just switched doctors because mine left the office, so I had never met this one before, and I wasn't sure what to expect from her in response to my request to see a surgeon. She was actually very supportive and encouraging! I have already done my homework and picked the surgeon that I want to go to, so I gave his info to my doctor and she said that she would take care of the referral!

I'm still kind of waffling between which of the two procedures I would prefer to have, though I know that that surgeon will know what is best for me, and he will help me to feel assured either way.

I guess I kind of expected that this would be something that would require lots of red-tape-cutting, and it would probably be about a year before I would actually go in for surgery. I was shocked when my doctor told me today that it would, most likely, be about 2 months! I can't decide yet if that excites me or scares me to death! LOL

Glad to hear that your PCP is supportive, that really will help along the way.

When you say you are still deciding between the two procedures, which two are you talking about? The RNY verse Band?

I don't want to burst your bubble, but if it is the PCP that is telling you two months, just tell her thank you and pay her little mind It will depend on how quickly your insurance company approves you, how far out the surgeons schedule is and so on. Remember many of the insurance companies are now requiring a doctor supervised diet within the past year, of at least a 6 month duration. If you don't have that, may I suggest you start that now, might save you some time.

I'll cross my fingers for you that it does happen quickly, but not too quickly.....we really do need the time to prepare.

......and by the way, that is a cute bikini-babe there
