Default Lantus pen hard to push!!

I find that the Lantus pen is so hard to push the button (to insert the insulin in me) that it makes me move the needle and I end up breaking the needle or cutting my stomache inside where the needle moves. Anyone else have that issue?

I do not take insulin. I would ask a pharmacist about that.

Hi,

What brand of needles are u using? The company suggests a BD brand . There are others but I know the nova brand will not work.

If u still have trouble there is a toll free number for customer services which offers good advice. Just google lantus.

Good luck,
Sheridan

Yes, I use to have this happen to me many times. There are always a few bad needles in every lot. I finally learned that if I push on the plunger and it doesn't move, immediately remove it and put a new one on. The needles sometimes are collapsed due to the manufacturing process (end of line/material change issues I assume). No big deal, just pitch it and get another.

Hope this helped,
Tom.
