Low Carb Archive - OHHH Robin Salmon Patties?View Full Version : OHHH Robin Salmon Patties? Meowna 08-07-2003, 12:30 PM Hey there Robin, a few of us here have been trying to get your attention. We would really like to know where to get your salmon patties recipe. Please share! Got me fishing pole ready and everything! HA:lol: RobinW 08-07-2003, 08:34 PM lol, ok I tried to post this morning but for some reason the site wasnt working for me. So here goes When I have all the ingredients on hand this is what I put in them. Now be prepared, this is a very scientific recipe :D 1 large can pink salmon ....rinsed(too salty) and take the spine out. Leave all the other bones in, just make sure you smush everything really good. couple shakes of pepper (NO salt)!! couple good shakes 4 or 5 of parm. cheese. 1 egg 2 good blobs of cottage cheese (using a table spoon) 1 scoop of nonflavoured protein powder. Mix well! I'll come back in a bit and edit in the carb count and stuff, its in my fitday. When Im on induction I take out the cottage cheese and protein power and use 2 eggs instead of 1. Form patties (they are kinda soggy at first) and place in a heated pan with lots of butter. Fry 8-10 min each side on med. I eat these almost everyday........sort of my replacement for sandwiches. I hope you like them Robin goodforme 08-07-2003, 09:36 PM Nummy! One of my favorites "BLC" and now I can enjoy them again. Thanks! MamaJ 08-08-2003, 10:26 AM Sounds gooooood! Wonder if you could substitute the protein powder with crushed pork rinds? Thanks ~ I'll be trying these! J RobinW 08-08-2003, 10:28 AM yes you can, in the non lc tradition, you would put in breadcrumbs. So pork rinds would work great. KarenW 08-08-2003, 11:29 AM Robin Do these freeze well? How many patties do you make out of this recipe? RobinW 08-08-2003, 11:46 AM I get 4 patties out of one large can, and no, they dont freeze well, after thawing they taste fishy. I know I know, its fish, but I dont like that old fishy taste. So if it doesnt bother you, then I guess it would be fine. I usually just put them in seperate baggies so I can pop one in my lunch bag everyday. Meowna 08-08-2003, 12:40 PM Thanks Robin. They sound yummy! I will try some today. Need to have something different once in awhile! Gotta change my fishing pole to a metal detector! HA Meowna 08-11-2003, 05:26 PM Ohhh Robin did you post the carb count on these babies? They are a nice change in routine. I have mine with a spoonful of Jalapeno Ranch dressing for SPICE! Im not sure what it is with just the salmon and parm cheese. Im sure it will be alot less. Meowna 08-12-2003, 07:19 PM Thanks Robin. I don't make mine with protein powder, have never actually bought the stuff? My gf made me a protein shake one day and ewwww it tasted like sawdust and creamy ickness to me, some mocha flavored stuff. So I will stay away from that for now. vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
