B
3 scrambled eggs with green onions and 1/2oz of grated cheese
Coffee with splenda
(7)
L
1 chicken breast
1cup roamine lettuce w/ranch dressing

Water, it's 11am and 6 glasses down so I think I'm good.
Total: 13 grams
For you experienced Atkins my ratio is 57/40/3, do I dare say, should I be doing more carbs? How close to the 65/30/5 do you need to be to see a lose? Please don't make me resort to eating sticks of butter to get more fat;)

199.4 today...yippee..yahoo...
Still continuing on Atkins...added a few more goodies tho!
Monday:
2 eggs (1.2)
2 slices bacon (.5)
mushroom/onion (2)
decaf w/cream (1)
=4.7
(18 oz water)
Lunch:
egg/tuna salad w/mayo (1)
tossed salad (4)
oil/vinegar dressing (0)
whole milk plain yogurt w/6 blueberries (WOW) (5)
=10
(18 oz water)
Snack: 4 small squares of a sf chocolate bar (0)
(18 oz water)
Dinner:
one humoungous thick veal loin chop - to be covered in salt, pepper, garlic and herbs and broiled! (can you tell I"m excited about this?) = 0, maybe some garlic butter on top?
1/2 c green/wax beans (2.7)
1/2 c. cauliflower (1.3)
decaf w/cream (1)
(18 oz water)
=5
Total = 19.7 (still under 20, but maybe I'm officially in OWL due to addition of the 6 blueberries and yogurt? Have read that yogurt is very helpful for weightloss and several low carbers swear by it, so I thought I would give it a try and see if anything happens!)
Froufie:cool:
P.S. Tummy Girl: okay no sticks of butter, but you should try and get your fat up and protein down....for example did you fry your mushrooms in butter? That would help....also for the eggs....how about egg salad with some mayonnaise (or devilled eggs?)...both of these slight additions might help with the ratios. Cream cheese and celery is also a good high fat snack! Good luck.

Hey everyone!
Okay..here's what I have eaten so far today....
B- Scrambled eggs with cheese, ham & green bell peppers
L- Two cheeseburgers w/out the buns and no ketchup (the lady at Carl's Jr. had me repeat the order 3 times, no joke. LOL...She was like "No what?" "No bread, no ketchup" and it went on for a few more times, lol)
D-Looks like pork chops, and cucumber salad
I drank so much water I think I went to the ladies room like fifty times today. Everytime I got hungry I refilled my water cup with ice and water. So I am sure I got my 64oz and then some :)

I sure hope so...altho a few potato chips did jump into my mouth today...nasty little critters that they are!
Bella, are you on Atkins Induction? If so you may not want to go heavy on the bars and shakes as they can stall some people and I don't think peanut butter is allowed on Induction???
Also I don't think you are eating enough! You should have at least 2 cups of salad, and one cup of "other" veggies along with your protein or fat.
Not sure if you are using www.fitday.com but you may want to enter your foods there to check on carb counts as well as your ratios (aim for 65%fat, 30% protein and 5% carbs).
Good luck!

Heh, thanks for remembering us  .
Monday.....
B: Carbolite shake and a string cheese (busy morning, so never got around to much). 3g
L: Lunch out for a bday. Small steak, side salad, some sliced tomato. Nah, I didn't add it up, but I'd say under 6g.
S: I caved in and had a 2g bar.
D: Broiled catfish and shrimp, with salad (again, didn't add it up, well under 5g I'm sure).
Tuesday:
B: Vienna sausages, 0g
L: Gack! I was out of town on business, and finally ended up at a low-end chinese restaurant with my boss. I finally settled on shrimp with lobster sauce. I mentioned my diet to the waitress, and (I never got a chance to ask), I *think* they used eggs instead of the usual cornstarch and such for the sauce. I walked away not feeling nearly as guilty. Absolutely no clue what-so-ever on the counts though.
D: Beef fajitas (meat only, of course), with a homemade pico de gallo and salad. Probably around 6g in the end, given the amount of tomatoes and onion involved.
All last week, I was good at keeping track of exact gram counts throughout the day. I guess it went well enough that I started to become more lax this week, and 'guesstimate' it. I'm still watching, just not counting religiously.

Hey Tummy Girl,
Sounds like you're also on your way to onederland!....I am still feelind distinctly "unmagical"...as the scale WILL NOT BUDGE...but given my bad eating these past couple of days I am not suprised.
For example...today...so far:
Breakfast:
decaf w/cream (1) - how bad is that!!!! (very busy at work so no time to eat!)
= 1
Made sure to get some lunch.....at the cafeteria - who TODAY HAPPENED TO BE OUT OF: chicken breasts, hamburgers, hot dogs or anything I could eat! I was amazed!
So...I got a small salad from the salad bar (3) w/ranch dressing (1) and a slice of tourtiere (the lesser of all evils I could find there) - for those who don't know what this is...it is a meat pie (ground beef in a pastry crust)...and NO I DID NOT EAT THE FLAKY, GOLDEN PASTRY CRUST...I REMOVED IT AND ATE THE INSIDE ONLY:D
The bad news is it looks like the ground beef may have had some itty bitty pieces of potato in there too? I counted those... so the tourtiere may have had about 5 carbs!
=9 carbs for lunch
Lots of meetings this pm...so may not have time for snack but I still have some cheddar cheese here...
4:45 I'm outta here for nail/manicure appt.
Dinner: who knows and who cares? I know I will be starving and maybe can get dh to take us out for dinner?
Froufy:lol:
P.S. Have an all afternoon suprise party to go to tomorrow pm...pot luck so I can bring something "safe" but I'm hoping there will be lots of salads and other atkins-friendly foods, and I will avoid the sweet stuff!
P.P.S. Wedding shower (tea) on Sunday pm (after a morning-mid pm pool party)...it's at 4 pm..so I will make sure I have eaten before I go...and will stick to veggies and dip which I hope may be available??...and tea of course (will bring my own splenda).

SATURDAY'S CARB OVERLOAD!
Breakfast:
2 eggs (1.2)
2 tbsp grated cheese (.3)
=1.5
Lunch:
Surprise 50th birthday party for friend:
some cubes of cheese
cauliflower, celery, cucumber w/ranch dip
some more cheese
some more veggies
some smoked salmon/cream cheese rollups (yummy!)
a few grapes
water
diet splenda soft drink
= 9 carbs??? estimated
Still at the party 7 pm...very hungry..and they are serving CAKE!!! not just one...but 3 different kinds...I had a sliver of pound cake wtih some icing on it = estimated 8-10 carbs?
Still hungry - went into the house to find the "real food"...found some tossed salad...some more cheese.....coffee w/milk (no cream anywhere!).
= 4
Now......got home around 9:30 pm...very hungry...dh was putting some hamburger patties under the broiler...but I walked by the fruit basekt on kitchen counter and smelled a juicy, sweet ripe nectarine.....could not help myself...and I INHALED IT.....sweet juice dripping down my chin and fingers...it was delicious.
DID YOU KNOW THAT ONE NECTARINE HAS 16 CARBS!!! (GASP!)
So suffice it to say I went higher than ever yesterday....and I did end up having 2 hamburger patties cuz I was still hungry.
Tomrorow am is official weigh in day and hopefully not too much damage done!
Stay tuned for the final report!
Froufie;)

Ok Frouf, you can do it! You didn't do so bad, really! Pound cake wasn't on plan. but you had just a sliver, and that is quite an accomplishment when you were surrounded by the stuff! Nectarine...ok, 16 carbs, but at least it was fruit and not ice cream. How much fiber is in a nectarine? Maybe there is a silver lining!
Today:
B Chai with splenda and cream
L Grilled Chicken Salad from Outback.
D Unknown at this time, but probably eggs and bacon.
BTW, Outback has a great salad for low carbers, just toss off the croutons. I need to find out if their ranch dressing is ok. It is a little spicy, but I don't detect any sweet in there. Hopefully there is no sugar. It is cold grilled chicken, lettuce, almonds, cheese, bacon and a few tomato slices. I left most of the tomatoes behind. Yum! Actually 2 people can split it (Queensland Salad) because it is just too big for any one human being. They served the dressing on the side, and it looked like a WHOLE CUP. There was loads left over. Considering the size of the salad, it wasn't too out of proportion! I ate more than half of the salad and now I have a belly ache.......blugh!
Froufy
08-10-2003, 11:04 PM
Okay....trying to stay on track for tomorrow's "official" weigh-in....feel like I've been playing around with the same pound up and down all week! :p
Breakfast:
2 eggs
decaf w/cream
=2.5
Lunch:
Spinach salad (3)
dressing (1)
roast chicken (0)
=4
Bridal shower tea party! (4-7 pm)
2 celery sticks
2 cauliflower flowerets
2 slices of cucumber
1 tsp dip
1 slice turkey breast
1 slice ham
coffee (not decaf!) w/cream
=7
Not bad as I passed up all GOODIES...and there were lots of them...no cake or cookies or bars or cupckes or....... (and I was surrounded by these skinny young things...and they were all stuffing their faces - how do they stay so thin? Plates loaded with stuff...mine looked very sparse in comparison!!! and yes they all had cake and dessert!)
Dinner (around 9 pm)....finally a bit hungry
1 hamburger patty broiled (0)
1 cup wax & green beans (5.8)
diet jello (.1)
=5.9
Total: 19.4
Not bad....considering....
Froufie:D
P.S. Jennifer...love Outback...have not tried that salad...but they make an excellent Caesar salald (hold the croutons)....was there for dinner on Friday night....rib steak and steamed veggies..YUM!

To make you feel better, my copy of the USDA nutrional database (neat little thing on my PDA), it's actually 16.021g carbs, but 2.176g of that are fiber. So it was really less than 14 net. You really didn't do that badly!
