Hi everyone!!

I am a regular poster at the Stay at Home Mom's Thread in Support, but just started induction today.

I have been brought up on the High Carb/Low Fat diet mentality all my life so this is quite new for me. Since I have diabetes in my family and I KNOW I have Blood Sugar Stress, It is time for me to do something. I also am being tested for PCOS so I figure this is the way I am going to have to go anyway.

I am 36, a SAHM of 2. I have battled my weight all my life and I am so ready to get rid of it once and for all. I know that once I cut the carb out I will feel better.

Anyway, I just wanted to check in and say Hi! I will be reading and learning from you all!

Glad to have you join us!

Since you've never done low carb I bet you're gonna blow that Jan 1st goal right out of the water!

Welcome aboard Karen!

I agree with Tummy Girl, you might reach that weight by the time induction is complete.

If you stay OP without cheating, I'm sure you'll be real close after 2 weeks. Good luck and keep on posting!

Lots of good low carb info around...I hope you have read the book as it is an invaluable resource.

Do you have an account on www.fitday.com? You may want to register for a free account so you can track your carbs, fat, protein and fibre.

Other good resources include: www.atkins.com , www.lowcarber.org and www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com

Good luck and let us know how you're doing!

The chicks in this coop are terrific. I hope you'll jump right in, ask tons of questions, and post on the daily. The daily is where we just sorta have coffee on Ruths back deck and chat (or gripe) about anything and everything.

Looking forward to getting to know you!

Janice

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome! I am doing pretty well, not really hungry, although I needed to do a grocery shopping this morning and of course I still had to buy some bread and cereal and stuff for the kids and hubby.

I do have an account on Fit Day. I have been using it and so far so good. Thanks Froufie for all the links! That will be a big help!

I guess I will post over on the daily thread... :) I do have a question or two!
