Good Monday morning :flow2:

Thought I'd start the new one before we reached the dreaded page 6!

Zoe,
Your new pool will be awesome...you're having an in-ground? Is it concrete? That is my dream pool. As long as we live in this climate, however, with such a short swimming season, I'll "make do" ;) with my above-ground. I pretty much do laps, and some water exercises I've found online and in magazines.

Terri,
Hope you've all made it home safely by now. When do the kids start school?

And where did our summer go? :?: I cannot believe it's August already. We didn't have a lot of hot weather this year, which makes it feel like we're still only in June  We've had a LOT of rain, as though it's making up for the lack of snow last winter.

Hope everyone has a great week! To be honest, I'm not looking forward to the scale tomorrow...ate out almost all weekend and not always good choices :o

Hi! We made it home last night. Poor little Tanner. He feels better. Bruce took him to the vet before he went back to Col. Sp. He has an infection. He is on antibiotics. He had so many accidents. His bowels were shot. He looked scared cause he knew he went in the cage. We hugged him and I think he was confused.
He is better now. Have to check his stool and if isn't firm by the 5th day we have to take him back. Probably more than y'all wanted to know.
The kids go back to school Wed. Here is what I had to do TODAY:
Go to Drs. and get Britts a booster or no school.
Take it to the high school and get her schedule.
Go get Brandon's middle school schedule.
Go get all school supplies. $120
Go grocery shopping. $200- We had NOTHING.
Get soccer supplies. $100
Go the Brad's elementary school open house at 6:30
Go to Brandon's middle school open house from 6:00-8:00
Take Britts to the orthodontist cause bracket fell off while in Co.
And see Bruce off at 3:00 :(
I have a swollen gland and a swollen foot.
I guess this is payback for having a great summer.

Tomorrow the cable guy is coming cause our cable is out. Lightning or something hit it and so we have no TV until tomorrow. I want to go back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :spin:

Zoe,
Thanks for your concern about my baby. Congrats on the pool. That is great. Also congrats on being back on track. :bravo:

Jen,
Bet you did better than you thought. Thanks for your concern for Tanner. Poor little guy. He was a trooper and while on thehighway by Nashville he went to the door. I never saw a grown man react the way Bruce did. I am just glad there was a shoulder on the road.

Es,
Thanks for your concern also. Our puppies are so important to us.
Good luck on the new plan. You will do great. :D

I am hitting the sack early. Hope you are all doing great on the challenge. I gained 6 pounds. Not bad for 10 weeks and for what I ate. Glad I walked a lot or it would have been 20 pounds easily. I am going to my meeting next Monday. I want to lose about 12 pounds.

Terri,
WOW you're home and now you need a vacation!
3 different kids in 3 different schools? You've got an interesting year ahead of you! :yikes:
Hope Tanner bounces back now that he's home, and that it's all behind him (no pun intended ;) )
Relax, and make sure you take some time for Terri!
Glad y'all made it home safely.

Welcome back Terri. Whew, you really need to wind down. Poor Tanner. Give him a hug for me.

Jen, how's it going? I'm doing okay. Blew it the other day. I went on a snack binge.:( I hate when I take a step back. Makes me have to work so much harder. I'm back on track. Oh well<sigh> like somebody we know says, Life Gets In the Way.

Hi Dianne;)

I hope the rest of our group is doing well, exercising, drinking water & eating healthy.:D

Have a great day. Oh BTW I had chinese this weekend & now I'm up 2 lbs.

Hi,
I stayed exactly the same...and am happy to not have a gain. The weekend did me in, I could have had loss if I'd have practiced some self-control!

The boys are still here; Joe and I will be taking them home this evening. Jess had to have a d&c due to irregular periods; it went well. Just want to give her another day of peace and quiet before bringing them home.

Joey left yesterday for Vegas, he'll be there till Saturday, at a digitized imaging conference. He has been in charge of their 3 clinics switching from traditional film x-rays to a digital, filmless system. They're very pleased/impressed with the job he did, and sent him to this conference as a type of bonus/reward. He was so excited about going! The boys and I drove him to O'Hare airport yesterday, they had a great time seeing the planes taking off.

Es,
you're doing so well. Don't deny yourself the chinese! Did you go to the Pilates class?

Zoe,
how's the dig going?

Ruth,
hope you're enjoying your semester break!

HI everyone,
I have been really busy lately at work. I just wanted to tell you all that I lost .5lb

Terri,
Glad you got home safely and I am happy to hear that Tanner is feeling better. School starts early for your kids. Ellen doesn't start till the day after Labor Day.

ZOE,
It sounds like your new home is going to be more of a resort than a home. COngratulations girl you deserve it!!

Es,
I had chinese last night too. We can't deny ourselves all of life's pleasures.

Jen,
That is exciting that Joey got to go to that conference. You must be very proud of him!!

Ruth,
I still can't decide whether to take the interesting course or the required course for fall? What would you do?

Dianne,
How are things at work lately. I know you had some unpleasant events this past few months. I hope that it is getting better now.

Jen,
I'll bet you are so proud of Joey. That is wonderful.
What great parents and grandparents you are to think of Jess that way. :) Don't you love that feeling when you stay the same when you think you gained? Onward and forward. You can do it.

Es,
Not to worry. That gain will probably be gone in a couple days. We retain a lot of water with Chinese.
BTW Tanner loved his hug. :D

Janie,
Congrats on the loss. That is great.

I want to lose about 12 lbs. I gained 6. Before WW I would have gained 20 easily. I ate this more than I did last year. I gained 4 last year. Thank God I exercised the way I did. I am going to the meetings Monday. You know what I do? I eat the week before I go so I don't lose before I go so I will have a good loss the first week. Isn't that goofy?
Britts is going back to the meetings when Soccer season slows down. She wants to lose around 15. She gained about 8. Soccer will help her get it off. She practices three days a week.

Kids started back to school today. :( I hate the fact that Brandon is in middle school. I hope he enjoys it and is able to get around easily. I had to get Britts out already for an orthodontics appt.
Hope everybody has a great Hump Day.

Terri,
I've been known to stop at McDonald's on the way to joining WW, just to get in one last Big Mac :o: so I know exactly what you mean about eating the week before. You will be successful in taking off the 12.

Rode a mile on the bike this a.m. Not much, but better than nothing! I'm planning on exercising in the pool this afternoon.

Tomorrow I've got a job interview :yikes: for the first time in :yikes: 27 years :yikes: not that I'm nervous or anything.....

Yeah!! it's Friday. Hope everyone has a fun relaxing weekend ahead of them.

It seems like I've been AWOL for months, but I know it can't be more than two weeks. Last week was really hectic, I had two test for school, and my grandfather was here at the VA hospital. He has cancer and for a few days it was looking bad, but he has rallied and now is in a nursing home. He told one of his daughters "You didn't tell me were I'm at, but I KNOW where I am." He didn't want to be put in a nursing home.

I was hoping to wind down a little this week, but I've still been on the go. Oh well, I have two more weeks left, maybe they will be peaceful.

OH, all the studying paid off, I made A's in both of my accounting classes.

TERRI, glad you made it home safe. Sounds like your days are hectic. Hope you have a chance to chill soon.

JANIE, Well, if you aren't in the mood for required stuff, then take something fun!! We need a break sometimes!

ZOE, have fun with the pool. You'll love it.

WEll, I need to read all the post I've missed. I'll be back later.

So sorry about your grandpa. My dad was in a nursing home for 2 months for rehab on a broken hip and he didn't want to be there. It can break your heart. I am so glad he rallied.

Good morning everyone

Things have been hectic at work and by the time I get home at night, I'm too tired to get on the computer.

Janie - congrats on the loss :bravo: - looks like you're coming along really well. Things are still unsettled at the job - yesterday I spent the day cleaning out my desk files, etc. because I'll be moving on Monday - just to the other side of the room, but I've been in my space for 15 years so its gonna be a little weird. One of my new bosses hasn't moved up yet, since she's having her office renovated, but she's given me plenty of work. This is on top of working for the VP of Finance and working 1/2 time for the president on faculty Tenure cases :yikes: Not sure how this is gonna work out in the end - willie's not too happy because I've been working late and he says when I get home, my eyes are bloodshot and look like they're gonna pop out of my head - yuk, not a pretty picture  Anyway, we'll see how it goes. Sorry for the complaining.

Es - don't worry too much about the small gain - and you got my motto down pat, amiga. Right now, I can't even think about weight loss - although with all the stress at work, maybe I'll lose some weight ;)

Jen - congrats on the job interview going well. Good luck. I may have to go through that soon if things don't work out here - I dread to think of doing that after 17 years at this job :yikes:
Hope Jess is doing okay after the d&c. Joey gets back today right? I hope he had fun in addition to training.

Terri - It sounds like you need a vacation really bad, girl. Too much excitement! Hope Tanner is doing better now, poor doggie.
You'll lose the weight in no time - you have always had great will power!

ZoeGirl - how's it going? Did you get the new pool in yet?

Ruth - congrats on your great grades! Well done. Sorry to hear about your grandpa - hope he's doing better.

Well, today I'm getting my hair cut - I have to, I'm starting to grow an afro

I hope everyone has a good weekend, and I'll try to get back in when I can.

DIANNE, I hope that your job calms down soon. I hope you are taking care of yourself!!

Hi:wave:

Ruth, I'm still going to Curves. It cost $39 a month if you join for a year & $49 month to month. I tried the month for $49 first, to see if I liked it. I like it a lot but I don't know if I would rejoin next year. I think by then I'll be bored with it. I feel bad for your grandfather. When my grandmother was alive she made my dad promise her that he would never put her in a nursing home. Sometimes we don't have a choice. Too much of a burden on the family. David's friend is very cute. Her name is Christina & she looks like she's a size 2! She has long hair. She has a 3 year old son. We'll see. He's made it very clear that they're "just chillin". He cracks me up.

I'm switching over to Optimum online soon. I'm disconnecting my home phone. I bought a new cell phone with 5000 minutes so that's what I'll be using. I had optimum online before but it was too expensive. When I disconnect my home phone it'll be cheaper in the long run. The phone company charges too many fees.

Okay Guys, I'll be back later. When I get my new email address I'll let you know.

Hugs,
Es

Es,
Apparently many others are also giving up their land lines in favor of cell phones, from what I've seen and read.
Hope David is happy "chillin" with Christina; doesn't have to mean it's forever, right?
At the end of the month we're meeting the girl Joey is dating...her name is Iliana. I asked if she had kids, he said she's got two, one is 16 and one is 15. I know I have to be positive, but I'm already prepared to not like her. And that's not like me, guess I'm just being protective of my son.
Hope this week is better for you at work, not so hectic.

Dianne,
That must be difficult for you, changes like that are never easy, even if it's just across the room. Take care of yourself!

Haven't heard yet re:the interview. They said they'd call each interviewee either yesterday or today.

Happy Friday!

We're in the middle of a tropical heat wave :D and I'm loving it! Jess and the boys will be over today to swim and spend the night. Joe and I will probably have the boys over tomorrow night also, as Jess and Mike want to go out for their anniversary.

Es and Dianne were probably without power due to yesterday's blackout. Hope both of you are safe and sound. When the news first hit, it was like "uh oh" and immediate hopes that it wasn't terrorism. New Yorkers were remarkably calm, what great attitudes!

Terri, did you join? and does your center have the new program going? I'm debating, will probably join in order to get all the new material. I've got to commit to it, and stop losing the same 3 pounds over and over again.

Still haven't heard from the job prospect.....I called yesterday and was told they haven't reached a decision, it's taking longer than they had anticipated. Whatever happens, happens.

Hi Girls:wave:

What a night we had. When I got home from work that's when we lost power. David's job let him out early so he kept me company. Pete got home around 9:00. His job ran off generators. It was so pitch black out side. We thought oh no here we go again, 9/11.

I stopped by my WW center the other day & they said the Flex Plan will be out on Aug. 24th. I'm rejoining just to get the materials.

Jen, I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the pool. It's been very hot here too. If it's nice Sunday we're going to the beach. What type of job did you apply for?

Terri, you're lifetime right?

Amiga, how you're doing? We haven't turned the AC on today. We have the fans going. It's too hot.

Es,
come on over, the water's fine! We had fun this weekend...with Jess and the boys here Friday, Joe ended up taking a 1/2 day, spent the afternoon swimming. Yesterday was 91, very humid, and sunny, again spent the day in the water. Got lots of sun!
You will be lifetime one day, I know it. I'm looking forward to joining, am setting Sept. 1 as my start. The center should have the new program in by then, don't you think? I haven't called to find out. The job I applied for is part-time...relieving each member of the Finance Dept. for lunches, etc....at a neighboring town's village hall. Basically it's a/r and a/p, water bills, vehicle registration, permits, etc. It's full benefits tho, which is hard to find.

Terri,
how are the kids liking school this year? Brandon starts a week from tomorrow. I finally talked Joe into taking a computer class, he wants me to join him, so we'll be having an evening out each week together
The Bears lost last night :( but it's so much fun to watch football again, I even love preseason games. Kordell Stewart looked decent, but they're giving lots of playing time to the rookies.

Joe and I went to the flea market this morning...it was very sunny and warm. He's already snoozing on the couch! Got in a good walk tho, we both estimated about 2 miles. I've got to get back on track w/daily exercise. It'll really help make the weight come off once I go back OP.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

I went to my meeting today. I lost 5.8.
They introduced the improved program.
Lots of good materials. It was confusing at first but our leader was very patient. It turns out to be very convenient for me. She said we had to use the Activity Points that day whether we ate them or not. They could not be rolled over the next day. Our target points are in the week 1 booklet. Mine is 20. Then you have 35 flexipoints that you have for the week. As you eat them you check them off. You use them when your points have expired. WW will introduce Activity in week 3 instead of week 4.
The Quik Track Diary is cool. It is like a checkbook and there is a used and deposit/earned area and you record your points like you do your checkbook. I bought the 12 week diary. It was $4. I also bought the new calculator.

I like that the weeks worth of milk, veggies and fruit and water are all together so you can see how many you consumed at a glance.

Jen,
Have fun being in class with Joe. Sounds like fun.
The kids are liking school so far. I am waiting for the first strom from one of them. Hope little Brandon likes it. Can't believe he is going to school. Growing up to fast.
Hope Kordell does good for you guys. Steelers lost Sat. :(

Great loss! :D :cp: :D What a wonderful start for you, you're halfway to the 12 lb. mark. I know how focused you are, and, as always, continue to be an inspiration to us all.
The new program sounds great. Just what I needed, something new to keep the boredom at bay.

Es,
I'm with you, psyched about the new stuff. I'm wondering if they set the points at the middle of the (old version)scale we're at? When are you going? I should probably call my center to see when they're getting it, rather than wait till the 1st to join.

I've been fairly busy with the volunteer group I belong to. I ran for and was appointed Secretary, which basically no one else wanted. The person who had it before me mishandled the recordkeeping; I've got tons of files to straighten out. In addition, the founder of the organization is turning over all her files to me. She previously did all the documents, mailings, etc...has a printing business. I'm spending lots of time trying to make my work look as great as hers!

We're still enjoying hot muggy weather. I don't mind getting in all the swimming I can :D it'll be snowing before we know it :yikes:

The target point is 2 points above the lowest end of your old range. So if it was 22-27 then your target point is 24.

Thanks for the congrats girls.

I heard that the centers got the choice to either start the 17th or the 24th. Mine picked the first date. So if yours didn't start this week it'll definitely be next week. GO EARLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You still write your food down on the line where you would write what the check is for in a checkbook but a cool feature is express flexi points. When you are running around and in a hurry they have all points written out in numbers in a little square. It starts with 1 and goes to the highest target point available. You circle your target point and you just cross off each square as you eat them. They have a whole weeks worth together. I just think it is so cool.
I am still doing low carb. The only carbs I eat are like a piece of light bread with a meal or 1 baked potato a week. No noodles, pasta, chips or crackers and stuff like that. I have to have 5 croutons with my salad though. 1 point.
Hope your stress level goes down Es.

Luv ya guys,

You will not be successful if every time you make a mistake, you allow that mistake to last the rest of the day, week, etc. Just because you slipped up and had a cookie doesn't mean you should feel like a failure and eat horribly the rest of the day. As common sense as this sounds, many dieters allow an occasional slip to sabotage their whole day. There is no black and white in losing weight. It is a process of finding something you can live with, including good times and bad.

Terri,
Wow, that's admirable, eliminating the carbs as you've been doing. That is the downfall for so many of us. Love the motivational item....it's so true!

Es,
I'm going Monday to WW, for sure. While I hate to live up to my name of "Queen of the Fresh Starts", it's better than not doing it, right? Perhaps I should ask them if they give discounts for frequent joiners ha ha.

Joe and I spent a couple of hours in the water when he got home from work. The days are changing quickly, it's almost autumn :(

I read on another site that FlexPoints makes so much sense...to be subtracting the points used from a given total instead of adding them up as they're used. When they're gone, they're gone, right? I imagine it's going to take some getting used to, but will be better in the long run.

Received my rejection letter from the job I applied for :( I knew I wasn't chosen, would have heard by now if I had the position. It still stunk to receive the letter.

It's HOT here! Along with the rest of the country, from what I see on the news. We've used the pool more the last two weeks than we have all summer :D I floated today for an hour reading and soaking up the sun. It was so calm and peaceful, not like when everyone's playing football, screaming, splashing, yelling,"look at me, Gram!!!" etc., etc....

Hi Girls:wave:

Jen, I'm so sorry that you didn't get the job. Everything happens for a reason. Are you looking to go back to work fulltime? I still have to get used to working 5 days a week. The weekend goes by so fast. I'm looking forward to next week, Labor Day.:D It is so hot today. I just came form Curves. It's been empty lately. I'm glad you're enjoying alot of time in your pool. ;) I'm so happy you decided to join WW Monday. We'll be psyched since it's new. I really really can't wait.

Terri, thanks for the motivation. I'm doing low carb but certain days I really have a hard time. I haven't been eating fruit & that's a :nono:

I need some advice. One of my co-workers had invited me to her niece's engagement party. I didn't go but I feel since I was invited I still have to give her a gift. I want to give her money but how much should I give? I really don't know her niece that well. She brought her by the job when she was much younger, a couple of times.

Well, let me go eat. I'm starving.

Till tomorrow.

Will you be invited to the wedding? I usually go with gift certificates if it's someone I don't know that well. It's difficult to determine how much cash is appropriate...gee, not much help am I? :dizzy: I'm sure anything you give will be appreciated.

have a great Friday!

Jen,
My weight watchers meetings should have had a revolving door for as many times as I have rejoined.
Sorry about the job. I showed your message about the letter to Bradley because he was down about not making Rainbow Radio at school. He was sad. He said he was sorry you didn't get the job and then he said "There are 2 sad people tonight in this country but tomorrow we will both will be happy again."

Es,
I notice that the more I stay away from chips and carbs like that I don't crave them at all. I use light bread with meals and stay with yogurt, fruit and ww snacks like the sundae cones and stuff for snacks.
I would give $10 since I didn't really know them. I mean afterall she will probably have a shower too and then there is the Wedding.

Tomorrow are Brittany's Senior Pictures. I am nervous. She bought a cute pair of jeans and a beautiful blouse for the casuals. I hope they turn out. I will scan one when I get them.

It's such a beautiful morning. No humidity. I don't know what I'm doing today. I have to get my hair done but I hate sitting at the hairdresser for 3 hours. Maybe I'l l wait till next week since it's a long weekend.

Thanks for the advice. I hate invites from people I don't really know. I feel it's about the money. Oh, I forgot you know this person!! Its the Points Police. Her niece.

Terri.  so funny about Bradley. So cute. Is he happy today?

Jen, most likely I'll be invited to the wedding.:( I have a baby shower Sept. 6th. My newphew's wife, Mary. He's the nephew(Louie) I'm close to, that shares a house with David. This is their 2nd child. We feel she got pregnant on purpose. My nephew wanted a separation & all of a sudden she was pregnant. :gossip:

The Flex Plan will be out tomorrow! :D:cp: :cb: :dancer: I am very excited. I'll have my last supper today. :hun: (kidding)

Trapping a man is so demeaning. Why would anyone want someone that doesn't want them back? I hope it all works out for them.
The humidity is better here too. Hope it lasts.
Bradley is happier now. I felt so sorry for him. Poor baby.
He is learning that we don't get everything in life. I want to still make everything happen for him.

Good luck with your hair. 3 hours. WOW!! I remember when I used to get perms. I was there for about 2 hrs. I hated that.
Going to get Britt's senior pictures taken. Have a great weekend.

Please tell Bradley that it was such a nice thing for him to say, and that I thank him. I'm very sorry he didn't make Rainbow Radio.... :grouphug: and that he's feeling better about it today. What a sweetie he is!
You'll always want to try to shield them/ make things happen...no matter how old they get!
I'm confident Brittany's senior pictures will be gorgeous. Can't wait to see her!!! I think the pic I saw once was when she was 13 or 14?

Es,
3 hours is an eternity to spend in a salon! Since I've been wearing my hair in a short style, I can walk in, be shampooed, cut and dried and am out in 30 minutes. I do my own color, so don't have to spend all that time in the chair.
Points Police's niece? I did want to say it was stretching it to be invited to a co-worker's niece's party...it'd be different if it was her own daughter. At least that explains it. Send a nice engagement card if you know you'll be attending possibly a shower  and the wedding.
Let me know how it goes on Sunday morning with the NEW PLAN!!! :cb:

Es,
I'm glad to hear you like it. I am so pumped about a new program...clean slate and all that. Good luck to you! :lucky:

Tomorrow is the first day of school for Jessica, I'm so proud of her. It won't be easy, she took on a full load; will be taking classes 6 days a week, but only till noon each day, which eases the stress a bit.
Tomorrow is Brandon's first day of 2nd grade. Tuesday is Matthew's first day of preschool. I thought mykids grew up too fast...

I came across something I had found of my Dad's after he passed away...a little green army-type bag of every letter he and my Mom had exchanged from when they met, in 1938, at the age of 18, thru his days in Hawaii in the army after he was drafted, until 1945. I had completely forgotten I had it tucked away. I found it stuffed up under my Dad's workbench in his workshop; he kept the letters all those years  My brothers and sisters don't know about it. For Christmas I'm making each of them a book of the letters. Since some are on stationery, some are double-sided lined paper, etc., I suppose the easiest way will be to scan them in black & white onto good quality white paper. I'm not sure about how to bind them...don't just want to stick them in a 3 ring binder. The stack of letters is about 7 inches thick. It's so awesome to read them and get to know my parents at that age! (And I'm discovering that I'm more like my Mom than I ever imagined  ) My family will freak. I can't wait till Christmas to give them the finished product.

Jen, that is the best gift you can give your brothers & sisters. I'm sure it's going to be an emotional moment. Did Brandon enjoy his 1st day of school? The kids here don't go back till after Labor Day. Did you join?

I was very hungry today. I was trying to keep my target points but forget it. I'm going to have to use those flex points.

Let me know if you like it.

Es,
Yes, I went this morning and joined :D I love the new plan. It makes so much sense. The way they rewrote the 1st book is great, I think. This time around I told myself to act as tho it was my first time joining...so I wouldn't focus on all my past failures. I was very pleased with the leader, I'll continue going to her meetings on Monday mornings.

Those hungry days are tough, hang in there. You may not have to use flexpoints everyday. I'm ashamed to say I have 28 points per day to use :o: what a :ink: I've been!

Terri,
I purchased the 12 week QuikTracker also. It'll take me till Thanksgiving. I'm hoping to reach my 10% by then. What a great way to head into the holidays.

Es,
There is a section where this are 35 round numbers. It will say flexipoints. Everytime you use 1 you fill in the circle. Glad you like it. I love it myself. It is so easy. Don't deprive yourself totally of carbs cause you will just crave them. You are doing great by cutting back a little on them. It made a big difference with me.

I lost 1.2 this week. Total of 7 these past 2 weeks.

Jen,
Bradley is better now. I just want to go to that school and say "Hey this is elementary school not a professional station let the boy have fun too." Makes me mad sometimes.
He has such a personality. I will scan Brittany's pic when I get them. :o Growing up to fast.
The letters that you found make me want to cry. To find something like that is like finding gold. I wish I could see their reactions. You need to get this on video.
You know what you should do? After Christmas you should send in a picture of you and your siblings and the books to Woman's World Magazine with an article. They have stories like this that make me cry all the time. They would eat it up. I'll bet your mom and dad are smiling down on you. The discoveries you are making about your mom are priceless. I am so happy for you. Your dad sounds like a special man. You were lucky. Good luck to Jessica.
Brandon and Matt sure are growing up. There is a song called Then They Do by Trace Adkins about kids growing up. It is the saddest song. He says in the song "I have said I can't wait for them to grow up and ... then they do." It was on the radio this evening and while I listened (in the parked car) Bradley was playing soccer right in front of me. Talk about crying. I was a basket case with that song. I had my own private video.

Good luck with the flexi points. I know you will make it by then.
I weigh on Mondays also. I was given the choice to pay $8.50 a meeting instead of $11 by agreeing to pay for missed meetings. As a lifer I don't have to pay for any missed meetings but now I will. It is like getting a free week and it will keep me going. When I hit goal again then I won't have to pay.

Well, Bruce will be home this weekend. We are going to let Britts watch the boys overnight. We will go away for 24 hrs. We will only be about 15 miles away so that won't be so bad. We are having a romantic get-a-way. He will be here from Thurs.-Tues. morning.
Have a great Tuesday.

Hi everyone :)

Last night's pizza dinner/meeting went well. The village President and the Chief of Police were there. The President presented each one of us with an engraved plaque recognizing our involvement and contributions to the village, making it a "better place to live". It was kind of cool, actually, to be honored in such a way. AND I only had one piece of pizza! All in all, a good evening. :D

Joe and I were up this morning at 4 to view Mars with the telescope. It was a beautiful sight. It looks as tho we'll be up either late or very early a few more times in the next week to see it again. Very cool!

How do you like it so far? It was so funny when the leader mentioned that the points went down for pizza. The group went wild!! One lady said she could eat 6 slices & that will be all 35 points plus 1 activity.

Hi guys

Sorry I haven't been around lately - besides the fact that this is a really busy time for the university with registration, etc., I'm really overloaded with work and my daughter-in-law and 4 children had been with us for the last 2 weeks.

Unfortunately, she and my son have decided to split:( and she left Florida with the kids and went to stay with her parents. She was having a really hard time there, since they only had two bedrooms and her grown up sister lives with them. So, she and the kids were sleeping on air mattresses in the living room. It was a really stressful time for them and the parents, so she came to stay with us for a while. I'm really mad at my son, and it hurts to see my grandchildren running around from home to home. They just left for Philadelphia yesterday, to stay with my ex-husband, who is trying to get them an apartment out there. I would have preferred they stay in New York, but the rents here are ridiculous and it would just be too difficult for her to handle. Also school starts next week and she's anxious to get the kids enrolled. To add to all that, she thinks she's pregnant:(

So that's my real "life gets in the way" story right now. I hope you are all doing well and I miss you all. I will try to come in every once in awhile, but probably not too regularly until things settle down a bit. Suffice it to say, I'm not on-program right now, either. The new plan sounds good from what I'm hearing from you guys. Maybe when things calm down, I'll re-join ww.

Everyone have a great holiday weekend!

Hugs,

Dianne

I have used 9 of the 35 flexpoints, so I've got 26 left. My plan was to not use any, but..... Now my goal is to end the week with 5 unused.
Good luck on your weigh in on Sunday. When I joined on Monday I hadn't realized that this Monday was Labor Day and the WW center is closed, so I've got to wait till Tuesday for weighin.
Way to go on the daily workouts! :cp: I've been in the pool a couple of times this week, and did exercises, but that's it. You know how I "love" to exercise

I am so sorry about your son, dil and Grandchildren. I love to see that you and your EX are putting the grandchildren first. Great grandparents. My mom was so mad at my brother when he divorced my exSIL. Her grandbaby was first. Hope everything works out.

He has to leave again on Tuesday :( He will come back on the 26th of Sept. He is coming home because of the Big Spring Jam.
Britts and I go all weekend long every year. We don't stay all night but we go down and set up chairs early Fri, Sat and Sun.

Dianne, mi amiga, sorry to hear about your DIL. So sad. Maybe they can work things out eventually. Does your son know that she may be pregnant? At least she has you & your ex to help her out. My nephew is going thru something similar. He's not happy anymore & was planning to leave his wife but now she's pregnant. He's feels obligated to stay. You'll like the flex plan.;)

Terri, Brittany will be a great babysitter. Spending time with Bruce is what you need. Got to keep the flame burning.

We went to the wake. My friend seemed okay. It's too long to post but she could write a love story about her Mom & Dad. It's so beautiful she had everybody crying.

I'm glad it's the weekend. I don't have any plans. Pete has to work tomorrow. I'll probably stay home & clean. Maybe I'll go to my brother's house in the afternoon & spend some time with the kids.:dizzy:

Hello:wave:

Jen, I lost 2 lbs.:cb: Mostly everybody lost weight. A lot of people aren't using all their flex points. I need them. I'll see how this week goes. Some in the group were complaining about the tracker. They liked the journal better. I like the tracker.

Terri, hope you had a nice time. ;)

I got a puppy. I went to a Puppy Depot & walked out with a PUG. OMG he is soooooo CUTE!!! We named him Sammy. Susie is scared of him. His face is black & his body is beige. Since I'm alone a lot it's company for me & Susie. I think she still misses the cat.

It's raining today so I'm staying home. I really want to stay home anyway so Sammy could get familiar with his new home. Where I bought him, they said to keep him away from Susie till he sees the Vet. That's hard to do since I live in an apartment.

I hope everybody enjoyed their weekend.

Es

Happy Labor Day! I hope everyone is having a nice day with their family.

Did you guys think that I had dropped off the face of the earth? I hate when I stay away like that, I really miss you guys. But sometimes as Dianne says, life gets in the way.

My grandfather died the 16th of August. He was only in the nursing home for a week, maybe a little longer. I really didn't know my grandfather very well. My mother and her sister were his children from a prior marriage, his parents raised them. When he came back to Louisiana after WW II he married again and had ten more kids. Some of them were my age, so when we would visit when I was a little girl, well I was always playing with the kids. Then I grew up and moved away and the rest is history. Unfortunately, my mom and my aunt had issues concerning their dad. I guess there was some bitterness on their part because he didn't raise them. That was another reason that I didn't see him as much as I might have.

I never imagined I would be at his bedside when he died. I had planned to visit with my mom and aunt on that Thursday and Friday. On Friday I'd planned on helping my aunt with her new computer, but we got the call that he would not make it through the night. Maybe being around all the family was God's way of letting me get to know Grandpa a little better. Grandpa also spoke of Heaven, God and Jesus before he passed away. It was comforting to listen to, it left you feeling like he would be okay and that there is life after death after all!!

Well, anyway I didn't come back home until that following Monday. I had to register for school that afternoon. Then before I knew it last Monday arrived and I was starting school. So the days have just rolled by and here I am trying to catch up with my friends once again.

Well, it seems like everyone likes the new ww plan, I logged online yesterday, the first time in a long time. I'm also excited about it. Anyway, I watched my points yesterday and today is the start of a new week. Wish me luck!! I also walked 4 miles yesterday, 2 miles in the morning and 2 miles in the afternoon, now if I can only keep it up!!

ES, sorry to hear about your co-worker. I can't imagine such a loss within weeks of each other. She will be in my prayers!
Congrats, on the 5 inches and the 2 pounds that you have lost. I know you must be doing a happy dance!

JEN, sorry that you didn't get the job. Just remember that God has something better out there for you. The awards for the volunteer work sounded great. Even though you are volunteering it is nice to be recognized for what you do.

TERRI, I guess you are settled back in. Congrats on the weight you have lost since coming back home. You'll be at goal before you know it. I can't wait to see Brit's senior photos.

DIANNE, sorry about your son and dil's marriage. As a grandmother I can relate to your concern for the grandchildren. I hope everything works out for everyone concerned.

Well, I've got to run, I PROMISE to be back on a regular basis. You girls keep me motivated!!

Take care, have a good Labor Day,
Ruth

Es,
You did great :cp: :cp: 2 lbs!! :D I love the tracker much more than the old journals. Sammy sounds adorable! I'm sure he and Susie will become best friends.
Doesn't someone else here have a pug? Perhaps Zoe?

Ruth,
It was so good to hear from you. My sympathies to you on the loss of your Grandfather. It seems that you were meant to be there, for your sake as well as his.
How many classes are you taking this semester?
Good going on getting back OP and all that walking!

JEN, well I'm taking 5 classes, acct., span., econ, bus. law, and a statistical math. So far it doesn't look too bad, hopefully I won't end up bald before the semester is out!!

Well, I was OP until a few hours ago. I think I just ate all 35 of my flex points. Maurice and I went to a buffet at one of the gambling boats. Needless to say I tried to eat my weight in boiled shrimp, I also had a bake potato, corn on the cob, a dabble of several different salads like bean salad, cumumber, mushrooms, oh we can't forget the bowl of banana pudding. Oh well, I will be walking my butt off next week. I still think I can salvage the week with a loss; afterall, this is day one, I still have six days left to be OP!!

Jen, I also think the book idea is wonderful. I can just imagine how surprised everyone will be. Do you have any old photos of your parents when they were young, that would be perfect for the front cover!!

Well, gotta run. Talk to you girls tomorrow.

Good Morning Friends.....

Yes, it's me.....your old pal, Zoe.......yes, I joined the MIA's and have gotten so lazy to get online....me? Can you believe that? Anyway, here I am, just for a moment to say hello and say that I'm still here with you's guys. My brilliant idea of a Labor Day challenge was a wash for me. Hope some of you got there. I am now really going to get into the new FlexPoints and get the last of this weight off. I can't believe how I've been fooling around with this last bit of weight.....up a few, back down a few but never to my goal......so it's true, I cannot do without you's guys........

I have a meeting tonight so I won't be here but I'll be back soon.........promise.

Miss you's
Me <><
