Welcome to Delicious for Christmas & New Year 2014!
Guess what, everyone? Next week it will be 9 weeks until New Years Eve! Which means it’s almost 8 weeks until Christmas! Say whuuut?
This challenge…is the hardest challenge of the year. To get to New Years Eve you have to face Halloween candy, Thanksgiving madness and Christmas treats galore. I know in my family the entire month of December is a treat yo’ self extravaganza, so please only join if you are going to be dedicated to staying accountable towards New Years Eve.
For this challenge, BE REALISTIC! Are you aiming to maintain or lose? Set your standards a little lower for this one, because it’s good to enjoy the holidays with family. But it’s also good to not go overboard and remember you have an overall goal in life to achieve! One helping of food is enough!
So let’s support each other in these trying months and make sure we feel proud by the time 2014 is over and we can say hello to 2015 feeling confident and ready to face the new year!
Please read the rules!
Slap your name on the spreadsheet, enter the forum name where you’re joining from (20-somethings, 100 lb club etc), add your starting weight for this challenge (not your overall), put your goal weight over on the right hand side AND THAT’S IT! The spreadsheet monkeys do the rest... so don’t you be touching anything else! Don’t worry, they get plenty of bananas.
Each week you weigh in. "What day?" ANY DAY! Monday – Sunday. Weighed in a little bit lighter but it’s not your official weigh in day? Official weigh in day can go SUCK IT because you weighed a little bit lighter and you can change your weight as long as it’s before Sunday. Hells yeah!
Planning on going away during the time between now and New Years? No problemo munchkin, Right click the cell and add a NOTE not a comment. I repeat a NOTE, NOT A COMMENT. Comments get all moved around when people drop out of the competition. If you add a comment and I delete it then it's your own fault for not reading the rules.
If you fail to weigh in for more than 2 weeks you will be moved to standby. "But wait, I wasn’t ready to leave!" I hear you cry. Don’t worry my sexy candy panda, just come back into the thread and say WHADDUP BRO PUT ME BACK IN THIS GAME. Or something similar.
"But wait I just saw this and you guys are already being epic and losing weight, can I join?" Of course you can! Add in your weights if you have 'em and come on in!
Very much looking forward to this one! Last year, I gained over the holidays. I let myself eat whatever I wanted the whole season. This year, I feel like I have the tools and the motivation to lose over the holidays, but I'm not reaching for the stars here. Just trying to get to the goal I set for myself in January, which is only 4 pounds away.
Thanks again for setting up this challenge! They really keep me in check.
noname - Very sensible goal! I'm reaching for the stars a bit with 9 lbs, but since we don't have Thanksgiving in the UK I just have Christmas to worry about. My boyfriend is coming to visit for 3 weeks, which will be a huge challenge since I have a lot of plans to go out to eat/socialise so I'll have to be focused on eating carefully throughout the day and stay on my exercise schedule!
I'm in! My weight loss has pretty much stalled completely lately since I started exercising more and having hormone issues, but I'm still at it! Here's to a great couple months for all of us!
Yay! I usually just try and maintain but I'm going to push myself this year since the past few weeks I've been doing so well staying on plan and have been really motivated.
This challenge sounds so fun. I set myself a goal of 2 lbs a week, which seems like kind of a lot but I can't really eat bad food because I'll give myself a gallstone attack, so hopefully I can make it!
I'm new, but I added myself because, well, why not?! If I don't buckle down for the holidays, what's the point of even starting to watch now?
I have to be even more disciplined because between now, right this very moment and NYE, I have Halloween, CE luncheons, a wedding, DS 2nd birthday, Thanksgiving, Cookie Exchange and Family Dinner and THEN Christmas!
Gah!
Im down with this! Its time to really push myself and finish losing this weight. My goal is to lose 15 lbs which is quite a bit but I believe totally do-able in 9 weeks. that would put me at 165. Im excited!
Can't wait for this! I have some more free time now so planning on going hard to start losing more weight. I'm happy to be at 144 now, getting super close to my lowest weight as an adult!
Week 1 has begun! What are you all doing to meet your goals this year?
For me I'm working out one day on and one day off. So far I've seen a great improvement in my routine since doing it, as pressuring myself to workout 4 days in a row for example was too much for me to handle. I'm also calorie counting and trying to cut out sandwiches from my life and replace it with vegetable juice drinks.
This week is bonfire night in the UK, I'm going to see a fireworks display on the 5th and I'm quite excited. I went about 10+ years ago but it was pouring it down with rain so it wasn't a great experience! Hopefully this year the weather stays good for us.
