Default Balsamic vinegar

Uh oh. I have started adding some to my salad because I read it might help a little with weightloss and with building 'dem muscles.

I bought a $14 bottle from the store. It's darn tasty. But I read that some of this stuff can sell for $100+.

Any thoughts on balsamic?

Delicious, low calorie, lots of flavour, interesting in baked recipes too. I never spend more than $15 a bottle myself.

I love that stuff...on asparagus, broccoli and really good when you dip your bread into it

I love it, too! It can be quite pricey!

I love it, but it is fairly sugary. A good balsamic is worth the price, especially as a dipping sauce.

Love it in my salads. I also use it for roasting veggies like carrots, cauliflower, potatoes etc. mix it with olive oil and herbs and toss the veggies with it before roasting.

This isn't so "diet friendly" but place a cup of balsamic in a saucepan with a tsp of sugar and reduce slowly. Makes a perfect syrup for ice cream, fruits or any dessert.

I spend $5-10 for balsamic for cooking and up to $40 for raw use. I find great bargains on high end balsamic at TJ Maxx.

I love balsamic vinegar! I can see how it can go for a lot of money. Kind of like wine. I had a salad at a restaurant not too long ago with reduced balsamic vinegar. It was more like a syrup, drizzled over the salad, and amazing!

Look in Marshalls or TJ Maxx or HomeGoods they sell the good stuff for less.

Love balsamic drizzled on strawberries, or on a salad with strawberries and red onions, sooo good!

Carmalized onions are best made with balsamic. No sugar.

Or tomato mozzarella basil sandwiches drizzled with balsamic.

Yummmm

Loooove balsamic, especially this delicious pomegranate balsamic I have. So good as a dressing or sauce.
