Default High Sugar Levels

Hi, Ladies. I have a question for all of you. My mom and I are doing Ideal Protein. She has been doing it for awhile and has lost 50 or more pounds. One day last week and then today she began shaking and her sugar was tested and it was incredibly high. She has never had this before and her A1C levels have always been in the low of the normal range. She is at recommended weight now and it is just so hard to believe that all of a sudden she would have diabetes. Has anyone has this issue with their sugar being high on Ideal Protein?
Thanks!
Allison

Everyone I have seen post who has had sugar issues/diabetes including me has always posted about reduction in high sugars often to the point of no longer needing their meds. It could have been an anomaly. Had she eaten within the 1-2 or even 3 hours prior. Sugars reach their highest after eating within that time frame for most people. What was her reading? Does she test regularly even though not diabetic?

I would suggest testing for a few days and if high or worrisome home see the doctor. It could be unrelated to IP.

Also a couple of high tests doesn't mean diabetes, but definitely needs yo be monitored and perhaps have a fasting blood sugar test.
