HI, just a quick note and then talk to you guys tomorrow.
Anne, I paid 13.50 for the tape. That's kind of high, but like I said before, they are really a lot higher now than they use to be. Maybe they will come down again soon.
On the old tape, where she gets down on the floor, the pretzel has some leg movement that looks like yoga. I can't do it, my legs just wont do that. I just kind of do it and try to pull up on my thigh to get the stretch in my outer thigh where it's suppose to be. If you saw it Anne, you'd groan louder,

Monday morning...

Hope that both of you had a great weekend.

I got on the scales this morning...I've gained 3 more lbs. :yikes: I've almost gained all the weight back I lost while on WW. Ok, so today it's going to stop. I did eat a lot of food while I was on my mini vacation.

It was very humid here yesterday, but it's supposed to cool off and be less humid today.

nikki, thank you for explaining how to do the Body Flex gym bar. Do you have a tape that explains it to you? I thought there would have been some sort of instructions when I got the bar, but there was nothing else included other than the bag to put it in. I was watching HSN last night and they were selling the Toni Tails again. It seems like everytime I turn HSN on either she or Adrienne are on.

ANNE, has your weather cooled off yet? You and your son are doing fantastic with the Body Flex. Let us know how your other family members are doing.

Have a great day.
Aleka

Hi,
We got a little more rain last night and then it looks like we could get some today too. All I can say is, thank God.
I ate badly again yesterday, but didn't gain any weight. I love those cereal bars and ate 6 of them yesterday. I really shouldn't buy them, I end up eating the whole package. I know there are worse things to eat, but these have to be loaded with sugar.

Aleka, I know how your feeling. I want to kick myself sometimes when I work hard to lose weight and then gain it back. Still, vacations are to be enjoyed, so don't beat yourself up over it. You've got some great memories and that's worth alot. Besides, you can start fresh now, with new resolve.
I did get the tape with the bar, like Anne has. The first part of the tape, she does the breathing and body flex moves (in a chair) and the second part she uses the bar.
I really think they have Adrienne on way too much. I find her to be so annoying. It's her voice mostly. Plus the way she puts on the makeup on the models, I'm sure she must jab them with her fingernails alot, she does it so fast.
QVC has some interesting shows, I find that I buy a lot of stuff from them, if I watch them. I try not to watch too much. They show things that I can't get here. I think HSN's clothes are more up to date and they have better sales. I buy a lot of QVC clothes from ebay, because I'm mostly a t shirt and jeans wearer. The clothes on HSN are too dressy for what I do. Just going to Walmart and working in the garden doesn't require dress up clothes. I have bought a few Carolyn Strauss things that I love. DH doesn't care how I dress, his thought on this is, we aren't going to the prom, so why worry how your dressed? Most of his clothes are held together by a few threads, it's hard to get him to shop for clothes.
Anne, hope your day goes smoothly. I still have to figure out when to do the BF later in the day.
Take care, Nikki

Nikki, I'm not sure what cereal bars you are talking about, but Atkin's Breakfast Bars has some good ones. The Apple Crisp bars taste great, and they feel like they have rice crispies in them. Nice and crunchy! Maybe that will be a good replacement?

Um...are you talking about the Adrienne makup lady from QVS having an exercise video? Did I see that right? Oh dear, she annoys me too. It amazes me how fast she can do makeup, and it makes me curious to what I would look like in it, but she ranks right up there with Tony Little in annoyance factor!

nikkic
07-28-2003, 11:46 AM
Jennifer, Thanks for letting me know about those bars. I've been eating those Cheerios bars and they taste way too good. Which is the problem with me, if something tastes really good, I'll eat a dozen of them, or whatever is in the house.
Adrienne is the gal that does the makeup and Greer Childress (with the long blonde hair) is the one that has the exercise video that we're talking about. Greer also has an infomercial out selling this, it's called Body Flex.
I can't watch Adrienne, she is just so loud. Greer is loud too, but I don't find her annoying for some reason. Tony Little, well, I can't watch him either, again loud and annoying. I still do the gazelle 5-7 days a week and my legs are looking terrific.
Hope your doing well, Nikki

Happy Monday Everyone:dizzy:

Hey Nikkic and Aleka, I found a great body flew board where
people are talking about doing body flex and discussing their
diets and results ecthttp://pub159.************/bbodyflexsupportgroup. here is the link so you can check it out.

Don't be hard on yourselves regarding your small weight gains.
Its the journey that matters. We are old pros at this now
and from time to time we will put on alittle:grouphug:
Especially at the times of year vacations are happening or
celebrations......

It was a beauty of a day in Toronto. Humity was minimal
temperature was in the 70 degree range. You gotta love it.

Let me know what you think of the board, We are all going
great at the body flex rountine at home. :strong:

Talk to you later.
Anne.

HI!
Anne, I tried that link and it didn't work, so I went to ezboards and then entered body flex and then got to the board. I also visited www.bodyflex.com and found out that they sell the advanced video for $14.95/3.95 s&h. Wish I'd gone there first, I only saved $3.50 going through ebay and who knows what condition the video is in.
I will have to spend some time over at that board, getting some pointers and learning what the more experienced BF'ers have learned. It looks very supportive and I like that.
I was able to do it 2x's today, just had to do it in the early afternoon the second time. I know one thing, my pants are baggy and I have to get some new smaller clothes pretty soon, or I'll be walking out of these. :o :cb: :dancer:
Talk to you all tomorrow, Nikki

I have a question about BodyFlex. Let's say you do the program for a month and lose 15 inches. If you stop the program, do the inches creep back?

Good Morning All::wave:

Hi Jennifer, Yes I suppose it is like dieting, Once you quit the
pounds roll back the same holds true with exercise. I will
tell you this, it is amazing the change in my shape already
and I was very very sceptical. I went along with it because my
son was so eager to try it.:)

Hi Nikkic, sorry that link didn't work. There is one lady called
Sherry. She is on the info commercial you would recognize her
straight away. She was the lady who lost 200 pounds that
was showing how lose her jacket is. She has lost over 160
inches!!!!!!:faint: I can't even imagine.

Another great day in Toronto. Low humity and sunny who
could ask for more.

Hi Aleka, how are you doing?

Anne.

Good morning,
Anne, I've never watched the infomercial, I'll have to watch it tonight, I'm awake alot at night and there are millions of infomercials on.
The weather is better today, still humid, but not as hot. My garden is starting to really produce now. Boy, am I tired of picking green beans and from the look of the blossoms, they will be making lots more. The zucchini is very productive too. With this really strong sun, I don't think the zucchini plants will live much longer, it's just too much for them.
Do you guys use flax seed? I've started to throw a few spoons on my raisin bran in the morning. I really can't tell it's there. 5 years ago, if you'd said I'd be eating raisin bran with flax seed and soy milk, I'd have said never in a million years.
Think I'll jump on the gazelle for awhile and then check out that website again, Anne.
Talk to you all later, Nikki

We are having such fantastic weather. No humidity and it's more like the first part of Sept. than July.

Today is my birthday. DH & I went up north to almost the Canadian border. There is an area of roadway called Moose Alley where the moose are rather active. We saw 2!!!:cloud9: I got a picture of one. I was soooo excited!! All in all it was a perfect day. Part of my birthday present was tickets to see Abba, or rather the group that is doing their songs. I guess they look and sound just like the Abba. We're going to see them tomorrow night. Can't wait!!

ANNE, you are doing wonderful with Body Flex. I tried that site and couldn't get into it either. I will try again and put in Body Flex in the search. Are you doing any other workout besides the Body Flex, or are you just doing Body Flex?

nikki, that's fantastic news about your clothes getting baggy. :high: Adrienne on HSN annoys me too. Greer does to a point.

Enjoy the rest of your evening.

Good Evening Everyone!

Aleka::hat: :gift: :hb:Happy Birthday!!!! Hope
you are having a great day. I bet you'll love the show.
A few years ago we went to see Beatlemania. I just loved
it.

Right now I am doing body flex twice a day along with a
2 mile fast walk on my lunch hour. Lets see if it blasts off
some of these stuborn pounds:o

Nikkic my breakfast standard for the last few years has been
1/2 cup all bran, 1tbls ground flax seed, 1 tbls. psyllium with
skim milk. I have fresh fruit 20 minutes ahead of the cereal
combo.

The big concert event is here tomorrow. I am sorry I won't
be going:rolleyes: Oh well.

Have a great evening!!!

Thank you all for the birthday wishes.

Janice, A BIG WELCOME to our little group. I am glad that you decided to post. :high: Which low carb plan are you doing? We all started out Somersizing. Anne is still Somersizing and Nikki and myself are doing our own thing. Looking forward to getting to know you.

ANNE, sorry you won't be going to the concert. It does sound like fun. I remember how much you enjoyed them the last time you went.

nikki, do you use flavored soy milk or unflavored? I tried the vanilla a few years ago and didn't think it was too..too bad. I don't know if I could take the unflavored.

Take care and have a good day!

Hi,
Janice, your never an intruder, we would love to visit with you any time you want. I hope your doing well and that things are going good for you.

Aleka, I started using vanilla soy milk, then switched to the unflavored after someone said they thought it was better. I do like it better, it's not as sweet or something. Anyway, I just use it on my cereal and in cooking and anymore, I can't tell the difference from milk. You might try mixing it 1/2 and 1/2 with milk for awhile and see if that works, then slowly increase the soy milk till you eliminate milk. I quit drinking milk when we were SS'ing and I wanted something to put on my cereal, so soy milk was the answer. I only drink water, tea and some coffee for beverages. Oh, sometimes a diet fruit juice drink for variety, but not often.
I am going to go on a few juice fasts, drinking only juice for the day, starting next week. Dr. Weil suggests it's a good thing to do once a week to help eliminate toxins from your system. I have that juicer just sitting in the closet, so thought I'd give it a try.

Hey you guys, I got my first pair of XL pants today and they fit!!
I've left the plus sized pants behind (not the tops yet, still have to lose up here some more). My weights still the same as last week, but my size is going down. I've done Body Flex 2 times a day for the last 3 days. After visiting their boards, I've also started to do the breathing deeper and with more force, they say that the breathing is the key to everything.

Got to go, I'm watering the gardens today, everything is super dry.

Good Morning Everyone:
I am happy today because this is my last day at work until
August 6 so I will be getting a wee bit of a breather:dance:

Nikkic, that is so great about your pants:bravo: :cp: I can't
beleive the difference in my own body and neither can my
husband. I will let you know the difference on the tape
measure on Saturday. Nikkic you are so right, breathing is key.
I am finally feeling the rolling of my insides when I do the
breath that you hold in!!!! It feels awsome and I am looking and
feeling so much better:cb:
My husband says I blend right in with the crowd and no longer
stand out as a heavy weight. That is music to my ears.

Nikkic, I really like reading those boards too. You get lots of
great tips.

Talk to you all later.
Anne.

HI!
Anne, I finally read the testimonial from Sherry. What an inspiration she is! She seems like such a sweetheart too.
That was really nice of your husband to say that. I don't know what it's like in Canada, but around here the norm is over weight. I didn't really notice it as much until I started to lose weight. I sure hope you enjoy your time off, you deserve a rest and some fun.

Thanks Aleka for the yahoo!

Hi Janice and anyone else!

Well, the garden awaits. I keep thinking, I don't know beans. (Bad joke) They just keep on producing more and more beans.

Hope you guys have a great day, Nikki

The concert was fantastic. The group looks and sounds just like ABBA. We were transported back into the 70's again!

ANNE, good news about work! Have you got anything special planned? That was a great compliment from your DH.:encore: It makes you feel better when someone notices. I went into the ezboard Body Flex support group, and someone had instructions for skip breathing. Do you do that? Keep up the good work with Body Flex. I thought of you yesterday. I was watching TV when they had an ad from the Toronto tourism bureau and they had an ad for the SARS concert.

Hi nikki, & Janice hope you both are having a good day.

Enjoy the day :balloons:

Good Evening Everyone!
Jennifer: I lost 9.5 inches the first week and my son lost
7.5. We are do to measure again Saturday and I will let you
know the results. We love it so much we have ordered a
second bar and additional tapes. I can honestly tell you I
am shocked beyond belief at the change in my body. I was
very sceptical but gave it a shot and I'm hooked:dizzy: Check
in Saturday for this weeks results.

This is a big weekend in Toronto. It is Caribana weekend and
there are 1 million visitors to the city. This should really give
the hospitality industry a booster shot in the arm:lol:

Aleka, I don't do skipped breathing. Maybe that technique will
be on the new video's?

Nikkic, Canada has tons (no pun inteaded) of overweight people
too. We folks in North America seem to be heavy weights no
doubt about it. Its a struggle but one all of us are going to
win this time!!!! :strong: :goodvibes like you said
before we're going to be babes!!!
Talk to you all Saturday.

Hi,

Anne, I'm so glad you like BF and that your having such great results. I hope your whole family enjoys it. Can't wait to see what results you have this week.

I've really got to get a hold of my eating. I know I've gained some inches this past week, despite BF. I got Tony Robbins cd's and have started to listen to them. They are positive, motivating and I hope get my mind to refocus on eating the right stuff.

It's looked like rain all day, big black clouds rolling through, but no rain. The tomatoes are really starting to produce loads of tomatoes now. I've notice quite a few leaves are starting to fall from the trees. I think it will be an early fall.

Aleka, sounds like you had a great birthday. I loved the 70's, especially the music. Nothing sounds as good to me as some of those old groups. I was a big CCR fan. We still have a bunch of old tapes from back then and play them once in awhile. When we listen to the radio now, we listen to country. I really don't understand the kids music. I'm not sure when that happened. Must have been when my kids were growing up, they played their stereos so loud and so often, I got sick of it.

Jennifer, what are you doing for exercise now? I'm still using the gazelle, about 30 min. a day. Started to Body Flex a few months ago, mostly for the breathing. Plus I do the Firm, but not very well or with much regularity (I need to do better with that).

Talk to you later, Nikki

We had an awful lot of rain yesterday. We're supposed to have on and off wet weather for the next few days.

Jennifer, it's nice hearing from you! Thank you for the birthday wishes. Will you be trying the Body Flex too?

ANNE, glad that BF is working so well for you and your family and that you like it so much. Looking forward to see how many inches lost this week.

nikki, CCR was one of my favorite groups too!! I was so disappointed when they broke up. Speaking of your leaves falling, I saw a RED leaf on the ground not too long ago. I really like fall though. It will be interesting to see what kind of fall we do have in New England where we've had such wet weather.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Good morning,
We got some rain yesterday. What a relief. There was some hail too, but I'll take any moisture right now. Nothing was damaged. DH was over in his hometown at the time (it's about 20 miles away) and it did not rain there.

I was disappointed too when CCR broke up. It seems like all the music I use to like, is now in commercials. Like old Canned Heat songs. We were playing a tape last year of them and some young guy at the campground said, "I didn't know you could get a cd of that commercial."

I still haven't gotten that video of advanced BF from ebay. I hope it comes today. Some of those people are great about shipping your stuff right away, others aren't so good.

I'm going to try to do a juice fast today. DH will be gone to the races all day, so I won't have to worry about cooking. I have plenty of fresh vegetables to do it with and went shopping yesterday, so I have lots of fruit too. It's been years since I've done a fast, so don't know how this will go. May result in an emergency trip to DQ at 9pm:D But hopefully, I will have a little more control than that.

Hope you all have a great Saturday, Anne, hope your enjoying your time off.

Good Morning Everyone:

Well, another 5 inches gone! I lost 1 from my bust, 1 on each
arm, 1 around the waist and one across the hips. My
measurments are now 45 37 48 my upper arms are 14 inches and
my thighs measure 24 (I really don't like that last one)
I know that big but man oh man I was much bigger at 309.
I currently weigh 215. I figure the muscle I build today will
burn the fat tomorrow. I was thinking of incorporating my
gazzelle into this routine. I will do about 10 of Greer's breaths
and go for it. I would especially like to widdle down my hips and
thighs. If I could achieve 42 33 42 I will be more than happy
with that. I remember when I was 309 the tape measure just
met when I measured my hip area.

I like Creedence too. I remember all those tunes, country joe,
janis, mamma cass(I can really relate to her) the byrds, Dylan
they don't make music like that anymore.

Have a great day!!!
Anne.

Anne,
I think doing the gazelle with BF is great. I do it all the time. I don't find too much in BF for my lower legs or even much for the upper part. But, the gazelle really does help that part as well as getting some cardio workout going too. Exercising your heart and keeping it in the target heart rate for a sustained time is so important for your future health and well being.

So glad your seeing results, good for you! You guys really have a handle on BF.

I did learn some things from the bodyflex site. Like when you take your breathe, someone said to think of being a vacuum cleaner and really suck it in. That helped me to increase my effort. The other was when I blow out, I really blow it out as much as possible. I don't keep up with Greer anymore, she goes too fast and I can't get all the air out of my lungs. But, I do all the positions and boy, by the time I'm done, I'm sweating and feel like I've done some work!
