Hey guys,

If you like the Skinny Cow ice cream products go to SkinnyCow.com and get the coupons. They don't expire so you get a chance to use them. I think we got three. I'm going to see if I can get some more. I was doing so good today until a friend came over with cookies!! Ugh. They are sitting there calling my name. So far, I've been good!!

Have a great day all.

Hello All,

Just stopping in really quick while I wait my turn in the bathroom. I tried out a new exercise tape "Basic Belly Dancing Moves for Fitness" or something like that. I was amazed at how much fun and how easy it was (lots of stretching like yoga w/o the pretzel feel). I'm sure I didn't look near as gracefull as the girls on the tape but I haven't been doing it my whole life. Had a pretty bad week, but lost weight anyway because of TOM. I'm going to start tracking points again today if it kills me.

Anyway....Hope everyone's having a good week. Drop in and say "Hi" once in a while.

LBH - It was one mile for 20 mins right. So add 2 miles for me for last week.

Rabbit - Hope you can stay away from the cookies.

Hi All,

Tech- Gotcha! Belly dancing sounds interesting...I have seen the tapes in the Lillian Vernon catalogs, but haven't actually seen it done.

I really need to join WW again. I'm doing soo bad, I need the kickstart I think. I'm going to ask DH if I can join next time they have a no registration special. I'm really longing to get back in the frame of mind I was when I first joined WW.

Karen- Thanks for the info, I'll have to check it out, those things are expensive.

Hope everyone's having a great week!

Here is some interesting facts on "picking" Hmmmm..now I can see my mistakes!!!!
RR
Just Pickin'

Come on, fess up, you pick. It's ok, so do most people. Life is just full
of too many temptations, between cooking, feeding the kids, and passing by
those left over donuts in the break room, who can be expected to say "no"
every time.

Here are a few suggestions to avoid the "nibble" trap:

Be aware of your "picking times," that is, the times you're most likely to
pick at food.
Stay away from key "pick areas" such as the kitchen or a buffet table.
Avoid leaving candy dishes or bowls of chips and other foods handy.
Skip free samples at stores, and stop yourself from picking from other
people's plates.
Limit sodas, juices, and other high calorie beverages.
How much can those little nibbles add up to? Here are a few "nibbles" or
"just ones":
PASSING THROUGH THE KITCHEN

4 tablespoons Haagen-Dazs Butter Pecan Ice Cream: 155 calories, 11.5g fat,
10.5g carbs

5 Lay's Classic Potato Chips: 40 calories, 2.5g fat, 3.75g carbs

1 Oreo Double Stuf cookie: 70 calories, 3.5g fat, 9.5g carbs

A handful of Quaker 100% Natural Cereal (granola) with oats, honey, and
raisins: 109 calories, 3.5g fat, 18g carbs

A handful of Cheerios: 28 calories, 0.5g fat, 11g carbs

A handful of trail mix: 174 calories, 11g fat, 17g carbs

1 Hershey's Kiss from the candy bowl at work: 25 calories, 1.5g fat, 3g
carbs

A handful of raisins: 86 calories, 0g fat, 23g carbs

carbs

1 bite of a hot dog at the ball game: 48 calories, 3g fat, 4g carbs
WHILE COOKING OR CLEANING

Crumbs at the bottom of a bag of Pepperidge Farm Nantucket Double Chocolate
Chunk Cookies: 140 calories, 7g fat, 18g carbs

The slices/edges of pie or cake that are trimmed before putting it away so
that it looks neat and even: 86 calories, 5g fat, 9g carbs

A spoonful of Pillsbury Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough while making cookies: 32
calories, 1g fat, 5g carbs

One spoon of just the chocolate chips: 80 calories, 4g fat, 10g carbs

Peanut butter on a knife while making a sandwich: 95 calories, 8g fat, 3.5g
carbs

Whipped cream off the beaters: 52 calories, 5g fats, 1g carbs
EATING OFF SOMEONE ELSE'S PLATE

2 forks full of chocolate cake that you would never order - but will gladly
eat when someone else does the ordering: 117 calories, 5g fat, 17g carbs

Gosh it's been quiet around here lately.

I'm pretty happy I've been loosing weight pretty well. Over the 8-9 weeks since we went back to WW I've lost every week but 2 (one maintain, one gain) and they were both TOM week and I think due to bloating etc. Since I've been on a roller coaster for the last year and a half, this is pretty encouraging . I haven't been tracking and I haven't been exercising although I am much more active than I was. I've just pretty much cut out junk food and picking during the day and bring my lunch. Now let's hope I haven't jinxed it by posting.

Anyway just wanted to share this with you all.

RR - Welcome back. How was vacation?

LBH - I put this on the puzzle thread but I love the new avitar. I should try to add one again, one they first introduced them it kept crashing my computer, but that was a while ago.

Have a great weekend everyone. I'm off to run errands.

hello all. I have been so bad about updating my miles. After my summer traveling is over, I'll get back with it. I don't think I will be opening stores this fall, I'm taking a break. I do one next week in Austin Tx and then one in Virginia at the end of the month after we take ds to school. I think that will be it for me.

RR - loved the info! Really made me think. Those little bites can be so many calories.

Tech - hooray with your progress.

Live well!

Happy Saturday Everyone,

I'm procrastinating (again), and thought I'd update my miles really quick.

LBH - please add 2 miles for me, I didn't officially exercise but the parking lot was full at work and I had to hike in a ways.

Rabbit - Nice to "see" you back. I really don't miss business travel AT ALL.

We've got our family picnic this afternoon, there'll be about 40-50 people at my folks house, let's hope it doesn't rain!!!

Tech - enjoy the family picnic! Hope it is nice weather.

Ok, I'm leaving tomorrow and will be back on Friday evening. I actually enjoy opening the stores. I like to be busy and it's been a crazy summer! This fall though I'd like to work on other priorities. We need to get a few things done around the house and that doesn't happen if I'm not here!

have a great week.
