This is Challenge 5 of our 2014 Goal Year Challenge.

Challenge 5 will be approximately 9-10 weeks according to when your weigh in day is and will cover Independence Day until Labor Day. Everyone is welcome - you don't need to have been a part of the previous challenge to participate.

Challenge 1: New Years Day to Valentine’s Day (January 1st to February 14th)
Challenge 2: Valentine’s Day until April Fools Day (February 14th to April 1st)
Challenge 3: April Fools Day until Mother's Day (April 1st to May 11th)
Challenge 4: Mother's Day until Independence Day (May 11th to July 4th)
Challenge 5: Independence Day to Labor Day (July 4th to September 1st)
Challenge 6: Labor Day to Columbus Day (September 1st to October 13th)
Challenge 7: Columbus Day until Thanksgiving Day (October 13th to November 27th)
Challenge 8: Thanksgiving Day to New Years Eve (November 27th to December 31st)

Weigh in for challenges will be once a week. Copy and paste this format or create your own, edit dates to match your weekly weigh in day. You'll be coming back each week to update your progress (find the entry and click edit). And this thread will be available for us to chat about the challenge, overcome struggles and celebrate successes.

I will post a new thread for each new challenge as they approach. This means the thread will not get super long by end of the year and anyone can jump in at any point in the year!

Hi everyone! I literally just came off of a bad emotional eating weekend so I'm going to go by my weight today and not the 278 I was on the 4th of July lol.

Challenge Begin Weight: 278.6 (nude, with clothes it is 279.8)
Challenge Goal Weight: 265.1 (clothed lol)
Challenge End Weight: 263.6 (nude, with clothes it is 264.8)

07/06/2014: Begin Weight: 278.6
07/11/2014: 274.4 (nude, with clothes it is 275.6)
07/18/2014: 272.6 (nude, with clothes it is 275, also note I'm going through PMS ATM)

08/29/2014: 260.8 (nude, with clothes it is 262.4, currently fighting a tooth infection & taking antibiotics, just began clindamyacin (sp?) at around 9:30 last night, wish me luck)
09/01/2014: End Weight: 263.6 (nude, with clothes it is 264.8 still sick, stuck pretty close to my calories but gained weight, I think it's water retention, anyhow I met my challenge goal)

I have been a member here off and on for many years. After a horrible June, with Hubby's dad going into hospice, my being rejected for 'long-term healthcare insurance" for my vision and my weight, and my beloved, April, having to be put to sleep from cancer, I find myself having to try to lose weight again. Did I mention again?

I'm glad to be a nude 272.6 lol but it is bittersweet because with clothes on I weighed in at 273 a few days ago, which means I probably gained some weight. This was an up and down week, and I'm sure PMS played its part.

Struggling with motivation. Tell my self I have lost 80% of my excess weight. Keep going. Somehow that urgency seems to have gone out of it. Went cloths shopping this weekend. Wore larges in the regular size women's department. I still can not get my head around it.

Active.. YOU are a marvel and such an inspiration to me! :) I know what you mean about clothes.. at 320 I was stuffed into a 3X pant - Stuffed!!! I had not bought any new clothes from that weight until I got into the 220's and then.. OMG! I could fit into Regular Size LARGE too! and some medium tshirt knits now! and I just got some hand me down jeans from a friend of mine who had surgery and lost alot of weight.. Those jeans are size 16! SIZE 16! (Chico's size 3) and I can fit into them (little bulgy around the zipper so waiting a lb or 2 more) BUT SHAZAMM! That was my moment that told me this was true! I DID lose weight! (and I remember seeing her in the jeans and thinking she looked so healthy and perfect sized!) I am smaller and SO ARE YOU ! You are Teeny Tiny compared to where you were and you worked hard at it! Try on new clothes and Twirl! :) and laugh and be joyful over what you have done for yourself! YOU ARE A MARVEL!!!!

I don't check in on this thread much except for recording my weight each week, but when I joined it was the accountability that I was looking for too. Belated thank you to wanna and luv2b for your encouragement. Lost 2 more pounds. 8 pounds to go for my challenge weight. Also, 3 pounds to go until I have lost half of my body weight!!! I bought a pair of earrings to celebrate. They are still in the box until I reach that goal. I can hardly wait. Success on our journeys to all.

It's been a rough month. A good friend's husband died unexpectedly at the beginning of August. I've been spending a lot of time with her and other friends. Eating has been hit and miss, but exercise mostly consistent. As I mentioned on another thread, it certainly puts weight-loss and its efforts in perspective.

Bounced up a couple of pounds. Have 5 pounds to go to reach having lost half my weight. Also 10 pounds to meet my challenge goal. Not going to make it this challenge but am thrilled by the overall success I have had.
