ME!

How's your PCOS management going?

A little wonky but for a good reason... I got my period!

Adding d-chiro-inositol has done more for my menstrual regularity than anything else. Even on metformin the best I could do was 60 days apart years ago. Totally AWOL though til this spring.

I just started the inositol in March and check it out:

330 day cycle from previous -- frustrated I change endocs. Old endoc was all "well, you don't want babies so it doesn't matter." It matters to ME that my hormones are in balance! I felt like crud! I felt like she wasn't listening to me and acting like I was a fussy non-compliant patient rather then HER being at the end of the knowledge base. New endoc pinpointed deficiencies from labs right away and helped me solve the vitamin D and b12 deficiencies in this window. Why didn't old endoc pinpoint this? Grrr.

52 day cycle from Feb to April. (I learned more about vitamin deficiencies and started inositol in march)
48 day cycle (first one on inositol all the way thru)
41 day cycle (started today! Woot!)

I've never been regular NOT on BCP and I'm still adjusting to the hormone shifting around in there. PMS is killer and lays me out. That messes me up with diet and exercise because I just want to eat toast from the queasy. Reminds me of morning sickness from the hormones. But def things are improving on my endoc labs too so I can't wait til the next round to see how they are.

What are you working on this month? OR --what's your "check in" for the day/week?

Now that I'm having a cycle and the PMS is letting up -- get back to my walking schedule and just pick up where I left off. Clean up my diet again. I'm not after perfect, I'm after progress and I'm progressing so go me!

A.

I really need to clean up my diet still. I am tracking everything I eat though atleast. I also am starting to walk again yay. I did a mile today which isn't alot but better than nothing!

Congrats astrophe on the period! I haven't seen mine in almost a year

Hey ladies,
I've been off this site for a while, but just found out recently that I have pcos, and blood sugar issues and hypothyroidism >.< so I'm trying to get back on the wagon!
I used to have regular 27-29 day cycles so it took forever to get a diagnosis! It turns out they're just lies and I rarely ovulate- sigh! Been trying to have a kid for 21 months now - we had a miscarriage in October and my cycle went to 25-35 days. so 5 cycles later I finally convinced my doctor to refer me to a specialist and he told me I had pcos before we even tested.
I'm boarderline on the blood sugar so he said to go with diet/exercise to try and work that out- since I have a host of other imbalances that are being managed with medication.
This cycle's cocktale: letrozole, Purogen, HCG, Syntrhoid, prednosone and progesterone.
My goal is 140Lbs or pregnant -what ever comes first!
This week's goal is no stress eating! Pregnancy test on Thursday and all I want to do is shovel bread in my face!

Hey guys,

I'm back from hiatus and trying to stay on the wagon.

I restarted Metformin 500mg 1x/day (at dinner due to GI issues taking it in the mornings) - adjusting - but manageable, same as moonkissed. My doc said my blood sugar levels are in the normal range, interestingly enough. My a1c came back at 5.5.

I'm down about five pounds this week, but started TOM today. It's been about 45 days since last time.

Astrophe, where do you purchase the d-chiro-inositol? I was recommended to try d-chiro but haven't found it anywhere online other than amazon and it seems very high in cost for only 30 pills of a low dosage.

Anyway - I'd like to get under 200 in one year and then consider from there if pregnancy is even a remote possibility. It seems everyone I went to high school or college with is pregnant - literally. I'm not 100% sure I want kids at this point (mostly financial reasons), but I want to have the option if nothing else.

Hope you all are doing well and I hope to be a more active poster here on 3fc.

Moonkissed and PghGal: Glad you are feeling better on the Metformin! Mine got messed up and I was without a few days but getting it filled tomorrow so hopefully my going back doesn't mess up my tummy.

Number8 -- GL with the pregnancy test this week!

PghGal -- I just go with here:

http://chiralbalance.com/

It costs more than plain inositol but I hear d-chiro is more effective and I'm getting results. So I'm going with it as an investment in my health.

Had some stress with eldercare this week and last so trying to regain my balance in my own life now that the seniors are settled back down again. Oy.

Default Still new here, but it's been awhile

Checking in again - I know I didn't say much in the past few weeks after joining a short time ago but I've been busy finishing an online class and operating a fireworks tent. After starting the South Beach diet about a month ago, I've lost 20 pounds, which I'm thrilled about, especially considering I haven't been perfect on the diet. I've been having regular cycles for 3 months now and my husband and I are going to start trying to get pregnant with our second child this month. Not sure if the regular periods are truly a good indication of ovulation, but I guess I'll find out - wish me luck!.

I'm finally around!

Ok, so let's see what happens in July... I need to be tight on the food plan!

Everything is going well, I just have to be stricter.

Astrophe, thanks for the info about the DCI ... I just purchased two bottles. How many mg are you on each day? I have read anywhere from 600-1200 or more.

I am also looking at it as an investment in myself. Kinda pricey, but if it truly helps, I'm game.

I've lost nine pounds this week so far (getting back on the wagon so I'm sure much is water weight). The weekend is usually a struggle for me, so I've already decided in advance that there will be no eating out. :P That will definitely help.

NerdMom1821:
Been busy! Congrats on the class, tent, and south beach. GL with the TTC!

Rana: Hang in there! You can do it!

PghGal -- I just take 2 along with the rest of my vitamins.

MY CHECK IN

I tried out this recipe today for dinner -- it was good. Having it with salad.

Running a low fever and headache. Not sure where I caught it from.

Got my DCI in the mail yesterday! Took one with dinner and another at breakfast this morning.

My stomach isn't still quite adjusted to the Met restart yet. I hope it'll be resolved by next week (it usually takes a couple weeks for me when I take it consistently which I haven't been doing).

Looks like a yummy recipe Astrophe. I'll have to try it once I get my hands on some honey. I have everything else! Also - hope you are feeling better! Nothing worse than being sick in the summer.

Salmon on the grill tonight for me. Trying to avoid carbs which is tough for me. Hope everyone is doing well.

What is DCI, if you don't mind me asking?

Edit: I missed it the first time; I see it now. Is this some kind of PCOS miracle drug? LOL....obviously Astrophe has had some luck with it.

hi everyone!

I'm still here, but I'm still stuck at my weight. I don't know why I can't cross over into the 150s. It's so frustrating!

I go on Monday to get my bloodwork done. I guess I'll see what's going on there... I guess I could be stricter on my diet and I will do that for the month of August, because I was traveling so much in July...

Hope everyone is doing well! Let me know how DCI works out!
