Just a note just in case someone doesn't know. Each thread that you start, YOU CAN CLOSE. At the top right shows THREAD TOOLS, if you created the thread you will have a tab that says close thread. DONE! I went back and closed each one that I created that is no longer in use. Less work for the moderator to do.

Well Good Morning to ALL Come out, Come out, where you are

Shannon thanks for starting the new thread How's your day so far?

I woke up to a drop of 1.2bs so I'm happy Cattails I have tipped back to the 150's, 159.4 this morning. My son has challenged me to lose 10lbs this month. I am going to give it my all even though I had 4 things completely off plan that I want and plan to make and eat. I think I can lose at least 5lbs . Cattails, how's your son doing?

Happy July, everyone.

Thanks for starting the new thread, Shannon.

Still on plan. Getting to low-carb, hunger-free, happiness. It's amazing to me that I don't get hungry much. I can go too long between eating and I do get hungry, but if I stick to the "normal" pattern that I use, I never get that famished feeling that I used to get. Still not sleeping as well as I would like, but I'm hoping that will improve as the weight continues to come off. It would probably be beneficial to cut back on the caffeine, but I'm reluctant to give that up just yet. Maybe as I let go of my other addictions, I can get to the point that I can release that one too.

Argh! I typed a post and poof, gone! So annoying is the iPad! Let's try again....

Rennie, thanks, will start closing them! Doing ok today, just still feeling run over by so much bad news lately.

Andrew, my bulletproof coffee makes me not hungry til later than usual. It works out well because I have two other lunches to make before I get to mine, lol! I also have sleep issues and unfortunately, depend on melatonin to fall asleep even when I only drink one cup of coffee in the morning.

Posted a NSV today if you want to check it out

Where is Heidi?

Andrew I find that with low carb I don't get hungry as much. It also another problem that I don't get all of my calories in some days with all of the protein. I drank so much green tea yesterday that happened to me. I was tired yet I couldn't fall asleep, then my husband started snoring and up I was What do you drink that has caffeine? Maybe just cut it at a certain time. That may help.

Shannon Maybe you have a caffeine sensitivity. My Mom has that problem so she had to cut out all caffeine.

LOL on the caffeine I have never paid enough attention to the effect it has on me unless I drink a Pepsi Max. I love that soda with the caffeine and ginseng, so refreshing. A two liter will last me a month. The kids think I'm crazy

I'm not sure what I'd be like without caffeine. I don't remember the last time I went without it for any length of time. But if I had to guess: Mr. Hyde.

Getting my caffeine fix, Rennie, what else? I drink two or three iced coffees a day, but I'm really intrigued by the bulletproof coffee thing. What do you use in yours, Shannon? Exciting nsv, btw, that's fantastic!

andrew, it is interesting to find what triggers hunger in yourself. Sugar and carbs do for me - the more carbs, the more I want more! Mostly I fill myself up with veggies, that keeps me comfortable and happy. Glad you are finding a sweet spot to be in.

Rennie, that's a terrific weigh-in! I never doubted you'd get right back to the 150's. Is your son also trying to drop 10? What a great contest! As for my son, sigh... He regained a bit of weight but he's hopefully learned some things. And he is trying to regulate his sweets and junk, but you know it is so hard when the other sibs and Dad are munching away. Smh. All three boys were doing the 5x5 with me until a couple weeks ago; my arthritis is flaring up lately so I've been unable and without me , they won't do it! They need their coach, I guess.

I'm staying right around 119, 120, so that's good. But where is my buddy Marlene? And Heidi with her wonderful menus? Drop in and say hello, 40's!

LOL on the caffeine Cattails and Thanks for the vote of confidence ... I forget whose where (time difference) I love iced coffee but I never think to make it at home. I have only drank it when I'm out. I may make a tall glass now that you've said it We have actually changed it to a 15lb challenge by 9/1. First weigh in 7/7. He hit a new low of 242.6 with football so he's excited. It'll be hard for him also but he does get a great workout with the team, but boy does he love his carbs. What is 5x5? You're an awesome coach I'm sure, sorry about the flare up

I hope she doesn't mind me saying but I notice Marlene's post on MFP so she is logging. We don't chat on there though.

Cattails I made my iced coffee, oh my goodness I didn't realize how many calories were in my ID s/f caramel macchiato creamer. Half of a cup comes to 120 calories but only 6 carbs So good. I like my coffee strong so I used two heaps in 8ozs of water, this should be an interesting night

I used to buy blended coffee drinks every single day, yikes. Lots of $ and calories spent there. My iced coffee only comes to about 40 calories each - right now I use a sploosh of Baileys creamer to sweeten and smooth it.

Your challenge sounds awesome! I'm sure the two of you will be great for cheering each other on. I was referring to the Stronglifts 5x5, it's a good program - google it for full instructions and videos. My BIL looked it over (he's been a gym rat for decades) and gave it his approval.

I've got two addictions: food and caffeine. I plan on keeping the caffeine addiction.
