Let's blast our way into July with lots of energy for our exercise goals. Join us to track your fitness during the month of July.

State your goal and track it throughout the month with this supportive group of fellow exercisers. We'll compile our workout goals into a list. As each goal is met during the month, it gets turned RED in celebration. Join us for a great month of fitness!

If all goes well, this will be the month that I hit my one-year mark of daily exercise -- 365 days in a row! Aside from that, I'm aiming for 1400 minutes of exercise in July.

I started 1/2 through June so I didn't participate in that thread. But I'm starting with this one :) Exercise isn't the easiest thing for me because of some medical stuff, but I'm just going to take it a little slow and do the best I can!!

My goal for July is 500 minutes of exercise.

I usually avoid the exercise challenges like the plague...but I think it's time. I'm changing up my goals this month. This month I'm focusing on strength training, so for the challenge my goal is two days of arms and two days of legs per week!

I'm looking for consistency from myself. So I challenge myself to run at least 1 mile every day in July. I already walk several miles every day, and if I'm just dying to run MORE than 1 mile on any given day, I can do that too.

But I'd like to see myself complete that minimum of a 1 mile run each and every day in July.

My goal for for July is 1500 minutes.

I need to go back and update my final days for June, but it was a success. It's been a long time since I've successfully completed an exercise challenge. Looking forward to keeping it up through July!

I have never made an exercise challenge yet.
But as they say if at first you don't succeed. Try, try again :)
Since the weight loss is slowing down I know I need to exercise more to make my goal.
So I am going for 15 times. Either DVD, bike, treadmill, as long as I sweat it counts.

Ok, I didn't do a monthly challenge last month and failed miserably the month before that - but I want to get back to it for July.

My plan two trips around the lake on every day it's not raining buckets. That would be 3 miles a day. Not much, but it's SOMETHING.

My exercise goal is:
- 3 days of cardio per week, 30 min each
- 3 days of strength per week, 45 min each

I'm following the Body for Life for Women 12 week challenge!

I did get some exercise in during June, but I didn't do it as often as I would have liked. Hopefully, this challenge is what I need to get me to stick to it. :)

I guess I will aim for 400 minutes of exercise for the month of July.

It's my first day on here, and I think I'm going to join this challenge for the motivation and accountability! My July exercise goal is 480 minutes, or 30 minutes of exercise, 4 times per week. :carrot:

Thought about doing some squats and pushups today for some extra zing. Didn't do any, but I did think about it. Maybe tomorrow I'll think about them AND do them. Progress, not perfection.

New bench press PR for me: 60 lb for five sets of five! My squat is up to 90 lb, too - DOUBLE what I started with.

Ahh, I've given up on lettuce because it bolts the second I look at it. I'm jealous!

Thanks to my super-awesome 6-mile run Tuesday, weights were kind of a bust yesterday. My thighs were so weak I couldn't squat at all (seriously, I got about a third of the way down and just started laughing; my husband had to get the weight off me), and my abs were so sore I couldn't bench more than the bar. I did manage to do rows, though, and I did an easy short recovery run, so that's something.

Whew, this week was awesome! I pushed myself too hard on Tuesday and was still really sore last night when I went to do strength again. So, I had to keep it "light" but when I looked back at my numbers it really wasn't that much different than my previous workout. Can't believe how much I've increased my weights and reps so far this month. Feeling strong!

After a number of years away, I am back.. as large as ever.. and much older. I'd really like to join this challenge, and my goal is to do 5 minutes of a dvd walking tape once a day, and/or if it's not scorching hot, a 10 minute outdoor walk 3x ea week.

anyway.. my hubby and I joined a gym.. LOL.. we must be having a "senior life" moment... because most days I have to use my cane to walk.

Okay, so I haven't done that well recently. I would do Zumba as cardio, then be completely exhausted and take days to recover due to my thyroid disease. I had also just started a new medication. I believe that the new med (Tirosint) is taking affect now (and is a little better than the Synthroid I was on previously). I decided to do a 30 minute pre-programmed treadmill workout for cardio instead, and it is MUCH better. Now it only takes a couple hours for me to recover. This week is my new start to July!

7/14 - 30 minutes treadmill
7/15 - 30 minutes upper body training
7/16 - 30 minutes treadmill

Hi changing-anne! It really is up to you. You can create a new post every day you exercise, or you can cut and paste your original post adding each new day (that's what I do), or you can just edit and update your original post each time you exercise, keeping posts to a minimum. If you choose the third option I've seen posters alerting everyone on the thread that they are updating their original post in case anyone is interested in seeing their progress and to check there.

noname, I noticed that you had said in an earlier post that the scale wasn't moving much but that you were losing inches. Do you mind me asking how many inches you've lost in just this half month and/or what are noticing about your body's appearance? Like you, I see the most dramatic changes when lifting is part of my routine.

Wow...just wow, gardenerjoy:carrot::congrat::cheer2::cp: What an impressive accomplishment. May I ask, did you struggle with any illness or feeling under the weather any time during this year or do you attribute the daily exercise to staving off illness (just a hunch)? To not get derailed by anything is an amazing feat. I hope you are walking a little taller today :)

I can see definitions in my arms and my thighs where I couldn't before. Also, unless my measurements are incorrect (highly possible lol) in three weeks I lost one inch from my upper arm, a half inch from my calf, and a half inch from my thigh. I also recorded a loss of a half inch from my chest, half inch from hips, and half inch from my waist -the first change I've had in all three of those measurements since april!

curvynotlumpy: Thanks! I'm lucky that I didn't get injured or sick in that whole year. But, the cause and effect may work in the opposite direction -- that I didn't get injured or sick because I exercised every day. I think low-intensity, high-consistency exercise is what my body prefers for injury-prevention. And the mood-boosting and sleep-inducing effects of daily exercise are good for my immune system.
