Default Hi all, new member in need of advice!

Hi everyone! This is my first post on 3FC and I think I'm supposed to introduce myself first. That seems like a good thing to do right? Ok so I started my journey January 1 2014. I am a 19 y.o. female. My starting weight was 250.6, I am currently about 215. I am 5'9. I know I will probably be scolded by some for saying this, but I don't work out much. I am lucky if i work out once a week. My calorie goal per day is 1360. I feel as if i am losing weight very slowly lately or not at all. Does anyone have some encouragement or advice for me? Somedays I feel like quitting. Will working out help me blast through this "plateau"? If it is a plateau...what about starvation mode? I don't think I am in starvation mode but I would like to know what y'all think. Any words of wisdom would be much appreciated!

Welcome to 3FC!!!

Weight Loss is 70% diet, so if working out isn't for you then do what you CAN do and don't stress about what you CAN'T do.

What program are you following? Are you doing Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Atkins etc, or Calorie Counting or food tracking? Or just going it on your own and making smarter choices?

So in 25 weeks you have lost about 1.4lbs a week. That is a good average!!!! Most diets have a couple big losses in the beginning then average 1-2lbs a week so you are right in sync with what is normal.

How much fluid intake is JUST WATER? Water plays a huge part in weight loss!

Hi -
Would it be possible to just walk 30 minutes a day to sort of slowly move into a bit more activity?
You can listen to music or whatever to make it more fun.
I like to listen to books while walking, or podcasts!

Nibog, thank you so much for your reply! I am just counting calories on my fitness pal. That makes me feel better because I have not lost that much lately. I don't drink much water at all. I guess I should start huh? I am curious, how does drinking water help weight loss?

Yogini99, thank you for your response I am currently trying to encourage myself to just start moving! Work outs are definitely not my favorite thing to do, but music will help me a lot!
