My goodness... am I the first one up!?
Good morning darlings!
Had to go out to dinner last night. To a PASTA HOUSE!!! I thought, "That's it... I'm screwed..."
However, I had the most incredible salad! Spinach, pine nuts, poached pears, chicken, prosciutto, onion, and an incredible dressing. Oh, it was wicked. And I refused the bread, but had one glass of mediocre red wine. THAT was a waste of carbs!
I'm very anxious today. My Dad is scheduled to have a triple bypass in August, and he has to see the surgeon today. It's just been discovered that he's severely anemic, and will have to have the occasional blood transfusion for the rest of his life. I'm just so afraid that the surgeon will tell Dad that he's not able to have the surgery. It would just kill him to have to continue being inactive the way he's had to be over the last six months.
Any prayers/good vibes would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you, girls.
:grouphug:
Have a wonderful day everyone!

Quick good morning.
I am off to pick up mega-bucks this morning and then will be finished that part of my major Fair job! I screwed up badly yesterday on food (see my Journal for the gory details) but today is a brand new day again and I'm feeling strong!
Ellis, my good vibes and prayers are on your way for your Dad. And where did you go for that incredible salad?
Sflake, isn't it great that we get a brand new day so often? I love being able to start anew and be strong.
Kim, your poor wee tyke! I hope things can be fixed without major distress. Please be sure to report in after the doc appointment.
 at the rest of the Beach Babes! I'm out the door!

Good Morning Chicksters!!!
Ellis, I'm sending prayers and good vibes to you and your dad.
Sorry to hear about his health problems. My dad had quadruple by pass a couple of years ago and is doing great (he went in to have a hernia operation and ended up with the by pass...) I'm sure he'll do just fine..
I'm starting day 4:) :) :)
So far, so good...I've been resisting temptation, although it hasn't been too bad. I did almost take a peanut butter cracker that my bf was making, but I stopped myself and remembered it's not on the plan...PHEWWWWW....
I've also been to the gym 3 times this week, just weights though...gotta start with getting some cardio in.
I'm hoping by next week I'll be out of the 200's....that would really make me push even harder. Seems like I can always get to about 197, then I lose interest. I'm really really excited about this diet and I hope that I have the willpower to keep it up...
Wow...I'm babblin....
Have a great day chicks...I'll be here all day...(I'm addicted!!!)

Good morning, good morning;)
OK, ladies. Today is a new day and we are ALL going to stay OP :drill: We can do it:yes:
Ellis~~~My prayers are with you and your dad. I don't know the exact reason why he is anemic but they should be able to boost him up with a transfusion and iron prior to surgery. With alot of the surgical blood loss they will re-transfuse back into him. Then I'm sure that they will closly monitor his blood values post-op. I know thay he will feel sooooo much better after his bypass. It's amazing how different he'll feel when his blood and oxygen is freely flowing through his body:twirly:
Bobo~~~Good luck today with your little one. Nothing hurts as much as seeing your child in pain:stress: I will keep you both in my prayers.
Ruth~~You will get back to normal once the fair is over and ALL the concession food is not there to tempt you. I would think that the smells alone could add weight. You're strong, you can do it. :strong:
How are all the newbies doing?
I'm staying OP but still need extra effort to drink enough water.

I am on Day 11 and last week I lost 5.5 pounds without the book.
I finally got the book and have read all of it up to the recipes.
On days 2 & 3 I had headaches, but am happy to say they are gone.

Good Morning everyone!:)
Ellis, sending lots of prayers and positive thoughts to you Dad. It's so scary when a family member is sick. I hope all goes well for him.
And Ellis, that salad you had last night sounds yummy! Good for you for not taking the bread.:cp:
sflake, don't worry about yesterday, today is a new day.
Ruth, sounds like you're a busy lady!! Remember to take time for yourself too.
Didi, you and I started at about the same time...today is day 6 for me. It's fun to be able to talk to someone who is on the same "level" that I am. Sounds like you are doing great.:high:
2BFIT1, I know what you mean about the water, it's a struggle for me too. I know once it becomes a habit it will be easier for me, but I have not reached that point yet.
Lady Windsong, Welcome! I'm new here myself, started last Saturday, and I have to say that you've found the best board in cyberspace! :D The ladies that post here are extremely supportive and helpful.
Thank you to everyone who patted me on the back yesterday! And thanks for the support and advice, you ladies are awesome!!:grouphug:
Have a great day!

Kim...It breaks my heart to see my babies hurt! Good luck with her Dr. appt.
Ruth...What would you be eating if you were not on SBD? I bet it's not as bad. The fair should be over soon I hope!

Thanks Coton....I just had an episode in the drug store..found myself in the candy isle looking at the new Hersey Sugar Free dark choc bars...picked them up and that little voice helped me put them down right away!! PHEWWWW....

Di, I wish that little voice would whisper in MY ear. I went out of my way today to buy cookies and salted mixed nuts. Still on a carbo bender and can't seem to climb out of this miserable pit I'm in. Seems like my "will" power is stronger than my "won't" power at the moment. Good to hear so many of you are doing well.
I did go to the pool yesterday but I got scared when I had some trouble breathing afterwards. I was really wheezy. This morning I got in two hours weeding and cutting back plants in the garden before it got too warm for me. I guess gardening isn't really aerobic but it has to do something some good. :^:

Linda-I've been having a rough time the last few days too. BLOWING IT BIG TIME. We re-financed the house today (went to a 15 year mortgage) and then I slept most of the afternoon! need to get myself pulled together!!
Ellis-Glad to hear your Dad is okay and they are going ahead with the surgery! Kept that candle burning all day, even AFTER I heard the good news!!
Bobo-Hope everything is okay with your little one.
Anna-HAVE A GOOD TRIP!!!!

TwoDogs, yes... I feel SO good now!
Den, the candle was much appreciated. :)
Didi, congratulations on restraining yourself! :hat:
Now that Dad is definitely having the surgery, he won't be asking me to put him out of his misery by smothering him with a pillow, and I won't have to go to prison.

Well, Kinsey got a HOT PINK cast on her little leg today. I felt like crying, mostly because I was so tired. I had driven 30 miles out of town only to find out that the specialist was in MY town today. He comes here once a week. My pediatrician forgot to mention that:stress:!!! So I came back, and we got the cast. I am sooooo tired-she still won't walk and I swear she feels 20 pounds heavier with that thing on. Anyway, when I got home one of my friends was calling to tell me that another friend's nephew was diagnosed with leukemia today. So I just thanked God that a little broken foot was all I have to worry about right now!!!
The bad news is I messed up-my aunt called after I got finished with the dr. and it was a bad time-I was tired and hungry-it was 1:30 and all I had for breakfast was a slice of fat free cheese. Anyway, her house keeper had cooked-get-ready for this-FRIED CHICKEN, peas, corn, potato salad, and FRIED CORN BREAD!!! I almost wrecked my car getting to her house to eat:nono:!!!! THEN-I had a Toblerone bar to top it off. I'll do better tomorrow.
Ellis-that is great news about your dad. I will continue to pray for him until the surgery is over-and he will come through it fine-wait and see!!!!
Didi-I'm proud of you-as you read-I wasn't as resistant to the chocolate today.:rollpin:
Dentrassi-you'll get back on track too. We might have to beat each other up, ya think?;)
RUTH,COTON,WHIMSEY,OPERADOG,TWODOGMOM, and SIl-I hope you had a GREAT day. everybody is doing sooooo well-except me:(

Ellis I am soooo happy your Dad is on the right track now!! I am going to say a prayer every night for him until this whole mess is over with.:goodvibes I like your sence of humor!!
Anna have a great trip!
Way to go Di:high: Mom just started SBD Tues. and she is a chocoholic. Today she was wondering about those sugar free choco bars and also talked herself out of buying them! Goood for both of you!
LindaB....weeding is an excellent workout. Make sure you have your water with you so you don't get dehydrated. Just thinking about working outside makes me thirsty!
Kim...I bet your:bb:feels much better, it's a good thing she as young and not missing out at the pool, or is it waterproof? And about what you ate, stay away from your Aunts house!
I should talk! I haven't run into any snags yet?! Haven't left the home front yet. May be going to the beach this Sunday. I'll bring our lunch in a cooler. Hope our friends don't plan on going out to lunch!
Goodnight Everyone, talk to you all tomorrow:grouphug:

Yeah, Whimsey, that's what I said. I can resist a lot of stuff, but fried chicken ain't one of them!!!!!!!!!
Hey Coton, my aunt lives in Plant City, FL. Isn't that near you? I LOVE it there. I always tell her I'm gonna retire there. Her husband owns a heavy equipment sales company.
Kinsey's cast is waterproof. That is great-I didn't even know they made them like that. She practically lives in the pool, so I was having nightmares of that last night.
