I have Grave's Disease (hyperthyroid) to which I had radioactive iodine treatment last year. Yup, I was one of the few that didn't lose weight being hyper... , but now I will eventually become hypo...

Anyway....I'm wondering if anyone else has thyroid problems and have found low carb or SBD helpful.

Thanks,
Di

I'm hypo and my doctor sent me to a dietician and recommended LOWER carbs and more protein. It has helped me a lot. I have 3-4 servings of carbs per day and 8-10 of protein, 2 fruits, 5 veggies and 3 milk.

That's a good question, Didi. I was on thyroid meds for a while years ago to stop the growth of a goiter. I should get it checked again to see if anything is happening...

didi,

I am hypo...and even though my progress is slow, this is working for me. Fourteen pounds in 10.5 weeks, I am amazed!!! But the most impressive part of this is that I KNOW I can continue this woe for a lifetime. So with that said, I figure I will be down approx. 52 pounds in a year. I am on my way!!!

Good Luck!

Meg
