Today I thought I would try the DVD I downloaded on iTunes on my iPad so that I can see how it will be when I'm traveling. This was the walk it off in 30 days which has two 2-mile walks. One is fast paced and the other is firming. But the firming uses weights and I won't have those with me. The first one was pretty good, more intense than my other walks.

My DD reports that the weather is so perfect in Monterey, and there are so many walking trails that she doesn't know why I would want to exercise indoors. So we will see! But just walking a trail isn't the same!

Yes I know me too. If you can just take it once a day though I think it is okay.
I wouldn't want to take it more than once a day but if it hurts...
What about Aleve that supposedly last 12 hours?

Mile one and five of walk it off and tone it up. I usually only take it once a day but I haven't had normal creatine for ten years. Aleve is the same.....hard on the kidneys.

I'm using My Fitness Pal still and it counts them for me. I've finally figured out what my maintenance level is...around 2000. If I didn't walk I suppose it would be lower. I reached goal in Feb but then lost in March and April while trying to figure out calories. For May I started and ended at the same weight so that's why I think around 2000 is where I can maintain. I'm really not eating enough variety yet. Trying but I tend to get in a cooking rut. But with all the travel coming up I will be mixing it up!

Yes, MyFitnessPal is free. They have Apps, but the website is good too.

Well it takes some time getting used to it!
I usually ate around 1300-1500 with the exercise. On days I couldn't walk I ate around 1200.

That's really good though! It's so hard! Like I said this week I started doing it before the walk instead of after and I am able to go longer. Today I went 2:25 which I still can't believe.

Today I did 3 of the miles from the old Fat Burning 5 Miles (or something like that). This is the one with 2 minute boosts at the end of each mile. My favorite is mile 4 when she teases the one man in the group about learning how to do a grapevine for his son's upcoming wedding.

Just finished 3 miles of the Four Mile Power Walk.
Then did the arm exercises from the Ultimate - those are only about 3 minutes! But I can see definition in arms from doing those. I am still adding on those other arm exercises, but they say to do all 6 of the exercises for 12 reps and then repeat! I do the first 3 only (not into laying on floor except for planking, haha) and I can finally do 12 of the first one. 10 of the second one and only a few of the 3rd one - my shoulders keep popping everytime, which doesn't hurt but I don't like it.

In other news I started reading "Year Younger Next Year for Women". It is quite motivating. He says you have to go to a gym 6 days a week. Well, I'm not doing that... but the part that I have read is very motivating as far as exercising a little harder. I'm only about 34% through of the book (I didn't measure, Kindle tells me).

Also, my first trip was cancelled so I am still home until Thursday. Was supposed to go to a wedding - but my mom's husband got a cancer diagnosis rather suddenly and had to get surgery at the end of last week and she couldn't go and I was going to drive her there. So we both cancelled.

Carol - yesterday I was in Old Navy and they had a Snoopy tee shirt which I bought and thought of you! It is so cute - just Snoopy dancing. I tried to find a picture of it online but they don't seem to list it. I hardly ever wear tee shirts but I couldn't resist it. It was with the Mickey shirts. Since I live in Orlando, I'm sick of all things Mickey.

I just looked on Amazon and she released five in 2013 but none in 2012. So maybe next year we will get a bunch of new ones. The year is shown on right if name in gray.

I have been exercising but haven't been getting in here to post it :( i'm busy with an insurance audit at work and just no time to play on the computer :(

anyway, I did 2 miles this morning. I used the AHA Start! Walking at Home 2 mile dvd and then did planks and some other core exercises.

26 minutes on 4 inch step with Debra Mazda (had to just walk on floor for part of it)
1 mile - 12 minutes with Leslie Sansone
Whew. My big butt isn't used to it, but it remembers how it was so I had to keep from going full hilt like I was when I stopped. That doesn't even sound right, lol. Anyway I think I might be a wee bit sore in the morning.

DH and I walked tonight at 8 - for 2 miles. It was about 85 but SO humid.

Carol - I let someone borrow my Remix so I haven't done it in a long time!
I may download it on my ipad for my trip to California. Although I am thinking of trying the Couch to 5K while I am out there because DD says the weather is so amazing - in the low 70s and no humidity.

Well I was right I am sore but it feels really good in a strange way, but I have made it four days in a row working out and today I have done great with my food so fingers crossed I can keep it up.
I haven't worked out in so long it is strange to do it but nice as well. I was in so much agony when I had to stop it feels odd not to hurt like that now.

I jogged for one mile and then walked about 10 minutes and then jogged another mile. I had no idea I had that in me! Almost one year of Leslie has made me stronger than I even knew! It felt great. It was a slow jog - 4 miles per house. When I went to enter it into My Fitness Pal it called 4 mph walking... but it was jogging for me!

Today I did the treadmill for 40 minutes- I kept alternating walking 5 minutes with jogging 5 minutes except at the end I jogged for 10 minutes.
I am quite sore in my upper thighs! Tomorrow we go home after breakfast and I will probably not do any exercise. Haven't had a day off in a long time!
I'm looking at that C25K program for when I go to visit my DD in California next week but it is only 20 minutes 3x a week the first week and I'm doing way more than that now. Maybe I could just skip to a later week. I think if I do I probably need to invest in real running shoes. Can't believe I am considering running!

I did three miles of the ultimate DVD plus plank and arms. Also previewed the leg workout. It is mostly lunges, yuck.

I just did the first three miles of Five Mega Miles. I always find it strange that on the cool down on that one there are no leg stretches.

Did 3.5 miles of the Four Mile Power walk then did arms and legs from the ultimate DVD.
I bought a Polar Heart rate monitor yesterday and used it today. Wow! I burned 369 calories according to the heart rate monitor. I got it because I've been reading Year Younger Next Year for Women and the book says you should be at 65% heart rate for 45 minutes. Today I did the three mile Party. My heart rate monitor (hrm) said I burned 278 calories. And I was I. The good heart rate for just 35 minutes. But that is a shorter walk, more like 42 minutes. I reached 85% heart rate also.
I leave today for California. So not sure if I will be doing Leslie but I'll still post!

No, I was trying to change my ticker to be more of a maintenance thing and I decided to add my name! I haven't figured out the new ticker part yet.

I missed my flight to Monterey! The flight from FL to Phx was delayed because of weather so I had to go to a hotel. So they put me on a flight tomorrow. Phoenix is hot! My goodness, hotter than Florida!

Arrived in Monterey around lunchtime. DD picked me up at airport and took me back to her condo and then went back to work! So after I unpacked and looked around took a 3.5 mile walk/very light jog. I used my heart rate monitor and I guess because it is a different climate my heart rate shot up really fast! I didn't feel bad or anything but when I looked down I was surprised that I was at 100% of Max Target rate! I felt great afterwards. It is SO nice here and cool! I didn't think I could sweat in 63 degree weather but I can!
Then we walked all around Monterey, Fitbit had me for almost 20000 steps, which includes the 3.5 miles I walked. I can see I will enjoy walking around while she is at work!

Tomorrow we are doing a bunch of stuff so won't be any official exercise, just walking around.

I'm always tired after returning from a trip. All the planning prior to and then being away can be exhausting.

Today we walked a lot. My Fitbit said 17000 and said it was worth a lot of calories. Tomorrow I'm going to walk/boost walk outside in the am because other than that we are going to Carmel to the beach.

Lol, that happens to me sometimes and I get the message you can't post twice within 30 seconds. No... I'm not trying to do that!

I did 3.5 miles outside this am. Learning how to use my heart rate monitor, trying to be "in the zone" for at least 45 minutes. Miss my friend Leslie, but it also feels great to be outside because that is impossible in Fl at this time of year!
