Default Well, it's Wednesday Chat - January 22

"Stop the World! I want to get off!" is how I feel these days. The days are just flying by and seemed to be crammed full.

Yesterday I planned to get those darn outside pots and baskets done but life intervened. It was my day to "supervise" the Mill - i.e. be available - but there were telephone and security alarm malfunctions and I spent half the day resolving them. By the time I got finished, at 4 it started to pour rain and I just gave up and worked inside. It was a torrential downpour and my road looked like a river flowing down to the main road.

I opened all the windows after the storm to let in the fresh air and it sure was frosty in the house this morning as it cooled down to 50ºF. Jazz tried to wiggle under the blankets, which is against my house rules.

This morning I plan to finally get those outside planters done. (I may just ignore the phone.) I have the Mill Exec here this afternoon and need to feel I've done something useful with my day.

Wishing you a hump-free day full of accomplishments.

Good morning chicks!

Ruth, we had a couple of nasty t-storms yesterday as well. I was a bit nervous there would be hail, and didn't want my new-ish car to get dinged! (no hail, thank goodness) I hope you get some rest sometime.

I have a short day at work today. I need to get the kids signed up for summer camps (where did the time go...), and hopefully meet a fabulous friend at lunch that is moving away Friday (how dare she, she didn't ask my permission). I hadn't planted a garden either...I may get some started veggies...it's so nice getting fresh stuff for supper. Our neighbor's son got married last August, and their new DIL is so excited to have a large garden, that she planted 90 (Yes folks, that's NINETY) tomato plants. I'm kinda thinking I won't need a garden....

Three more days of work!!

With 90 tomato plants, she should be able to supply all of Pennsylvania! I hope she's into canning!

Good morning! I'm finally starting to feel back to myself after suffering from this cold/allergy thing the last few days. Good thing, too, since the girls and I will be at The Devon Horse Show all day. It's supposed to be showery all day, but right now the sun is shining and the sky looks clear.

Wait- am I in some sort of time warp!? We are back to January? It's chilly this morning (and wet) but at least everything is green rather than black and white. I think it's about 7 months until Christmas.

Tammy, 90 plants!! We planted 10 and I was thinking it was too many since I am the only one who really eats them.

Ruth, we had that t-storm as well. At least I was able to get in my walk with my work buddy before it started but I didn't get any garden time.

Cottage, glad you are feeling better. I think the pollen has been very heavy around here and causing much misery.

Well, I've got to run! See you chicks later and maybe by then it will be May again.

Beth, I saw on the weather radar that t was heading right to you. I could not believe how far the temperature dropped overnight! It was so darned cold in the house this morning that I considered turning on the furnace. Yesterday, I was using the AC.

Cottage, I assume the girls are showing? I hope the nice weather holds. I'm glad the allergies have retreated a bit.

Tammy, I know you are in job-change countdown. Do you start the new position Monday or are you taking a break. 92 tomato plants! Boggles the mind.

Still only 50F out there but I am determined to get the side flower box planted and start on the front ones. Might even get the clematis pruned back a bit before I need to clean up for my meeting this afternoon.

Good morning.

Our nest is empty again. I'm working today and going to the theater with my mom tonight. Seeing Rat Pack which doesn't much interest me so I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

We seem to be in a summer weather pattern here, for the week. Hot with chances of rain every day.

Good chilly morning eastern chicks. I'm ok with it being chilly today as I will be baking and roasting a spaghetti squash. Wish me luck today I am making Joe's birthday cake. Total food porn, it is a cannoli cake. Tomorrow we are having our cookie baking day. I still have yet to get Joe anything for his birthday!!! I hope he is surprised

Today I have some running around to do. Otherwise I'll be in the kitchen most of the day. The ricotta is already straining through cheese cloth. After reading hundreds of reviews on multiple cake recipes, I opted for dare I say full fat versions of everything for the cake. Low fat versions tended to be runny. SB will be out the window Friday night. Will dive back in Saturday.

Ruth hope your world slows down

Tammy we planted 36 tomatoes last year, black rot destroyed some. I couldn't help but laugh 90, I see a lot of sauce and salsa in their future.

Linda glad your allergies are subsiding, enjoy the horse show with the girls

Beth 7 months until Christmas!!! I better start shopping lol

Karen enjoy the show

Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday

Good morning Waiting for Tim to have his first cup of coffee then off to Urgent Care for him. They did send him home early last night and his hip is really aching this morning. I'm glad it's not his back (5 discs damaged there from a work injury many years ago). My parents arrived yesterday afternoon. Luckily they are at a nearby Inn and have a large room with a big balcony so they are happy there while we do what we need to do. It's always something

Happy hump day!

Good Morning

I had paperwork to do before we head to the rental this morning. I think I'll still have time for more coffee before we head out. I'm feeling a tad bit tired this morning but smoothie will help out with that. I wish I could ever have something exciting to report....food goes well (that's always exciting) and I did get some nice capris for the Florida trip at Costco.

Cyndi, hope all goes well for Tim! It's nice that your parents have arrived!

Jennifer, have fun baking!

Karen, hope the theater is better than expected!

Ruth, yesterday sounded exhausting….I hope today is better!

Beth, we had wet and cold all last week! I hope our better weather is headed your way!

Linda, have fun at the horse show and I hope it isn't too wet!

Twynn, you are really on the work countdown now! I hope you get some plants in!

everyone else!

Have a great day!

Crazy morning here at work, just now getting a breather and can check in here.

Ruth sounds like the east had what we had last week, one day I would need AC the next I would need heat (but wouldn't use).

Tywnn your last week is going quickly, I forgot which car did you go with?

Cottage glad to hear that your allergies have subsided it was bad this year

Beth when are you done with school for the year?

Karen hopefully the play will interest you tonight

Jekel that is sweet of you to bake a cake from scratch! Sounds interesting.

Cyndi I hope Tim feels better soon and glad you are getting to enjoy the company of your parents

Debbie you could report on how the rental renov is going

Tonight DD2 has swim team practice and I will do some more walking- did 3 miles last night while she was there. I seem to be getting over what ever bug I caught last week- really did a number even gave me acid indigestion which I never have.

Have a wonderful day everyone!!

Just checking: am I losing my mind?? Am I the only one who sees today's thread listed as the daily chat for January 22? (hence my remark about Christmas)

Pearlrose, NY school goes on forever. Our state exam week is June 17-24. I envy those in other parts of the country who are wrapping up right now! Glad you are feeling better.

Jennifer, sounds like you know what it took me a long time to learn: going off plan for a special event does NOT mean one should continue for another day...or week...

I was too into my coffee this morning to notice today's thread title. I guess there's no need to edit it at this late hour. What are you trying to do to us, Ruth? No way do I want to go back and re-experience this past winter!

Is Beth the only one who noticed?

Yup, I turned the clock back! Duh! I used and old title and didn't notice the date. Senility, perhaps?
