Whew! Nearly logged off without checking in!

Welcome to all our new Beach Babes! I hope you all pop in to the Daily and say hi - or celebrate something or whine about something.

Life is going to be hectic for me the next week or so as the Fair starts officially the 24th and then there is the dénouement after it closes July 26. I am striving to stay cool as I wrote in my Journal and have meals planned for the whole time. I may not be hanging around in here as much but will sneak in to snoop daily.

I decided yesterday to move on to Phase 2 of SBD. Yes, blueberries and raspberries had a lot to do with it! I am still "just" 8 pounds down but am pleased with that. I intend to maintain at least until after the Fair and not be too self-flaggellating over any minor slips. I WILL not eat chips or other crap from the concessions or have more than a single beer in the beer tent on the last night! My next food trial will be the week I spend out West in August. Hotel breakfasts and other meals with my DD will be a challenge.

Off to start a fairly busy day. I hope everyone checks in for a fabulous Saturday on The Beach.

Good Morrrrning, Ruthie & all you later-arriving Beach Chicks! :wave:

We have a beautiful weekend here, sunny, low humidity, high in the mid-80s. Now, my fav temperature is cooler but mid-80s ain't bad for nyc in the summertime. :D I'm much more an autumn/spring person.

Things are going well on the Beach - made a great salad wromaine, shallot, snowpeas and grilled chicken for dinner last night and might just make another one tonight.

Ruthie - youre active enough to be in P2, by now for sure! IMNSHO, you deserve to have some BLUEBERRIES! BTW, I'm taking Max to the Cape in his Norwich disguised as a yak outfit - I called his groomer too late and he had the nerve to be going to the Hamptons for ten days! Harumph :lol: I'll just have to trim him as best I can around the head and paws - a retired champ is still a champ and he is just too cute yak-like or terrier.

Today is a no-gym day for me -- just doing chores, laundry etc. I leave for the Cape a week from today!

Someone suggested I use flax seeds in the ricotta treats instead of nuts so I'm going to see if I can find some.

Have a great day on the Beach - no matter what Phas you're in! :dander:

Today I have a 13th b-day party for my niece to go to. I'll try to be good!
Anna, make sure you get the ground flax seeds, the whole ones just pass thru ;) if you know what I mean.

Happy Saturday to All the Chicks!
Weekends seem to bring on the challenges, don't they? All sorts of temptations just waiting to "get us"!
Be strong--it usually isn't worth the momentary high followed by the why did I do that low! ( I did say usually!!! )
and-if it happens-it happens!
Ruthie-Yes, the berries are a good reason to take the Phase 2 jump over. Be careful and it should be OK. I eat my fruit at night but DH has his in the am without a problem. I guess it's trial and error. Anna: How I envy your Cape trip. I use to go often when I was a NYer
but Cape down here in Fl. means Cape Canavaral and it's definately NOT the same! Kick some sand for me! Have a great weekend everyone! Cindy

Anna, when you talk about the Cape, do you mean Cape Cod? Sorry, but I'm a west coast gal and am not familiar with your area. Anyhow, sounds like a nice break for you.

I probably don't deserve to even be here because I certainly haven't been OP at all. :burger: :chockiss: :cookie: :fr: But, I miss you guys when I don't check in. I keep hoping that all your successes will inspire me to get back in the groove.

Keep up the good work, gang.

hello everyone!

Not new to 3fc nor the forums but really new to SBD. Hi Ruth! :) It is incredible that you have lost 8 pounds on this diet! :bravo:

Was doing WW, lost 20 pounds or so, but then came to a standstill for about 7 weeks! :yikes: I am hoping maybe that South Beach is the answer.

I am looking for some support, as my friends on other threads are not doing South Beach and boy, do I have alot of questions that keep popping up in my head.

Anyway, have a great one girls! Renee

Hi Beach Babes! I'm having a great time on this program.

Heathyeater, you sound just like me!!! I have been on WW for 3 months. Lost 17lbs. the first 2 months and stalled for the last month! Very frustrating!!! I've been on SBD since 7-17 03 and I weighed myself this morning. Wednesday I weighed 192 and today 188!! 4lbs!!!!!!!!!! I'm in shock, now I know it will work.

3CF thank you for your support!

Nothing tastes as GOOD as THIN Feels

Hey friends,
I BLEW it. I went out of town shopping, and did really well, ate eggs for breakfast, and a salad with grilled chicken for lunch. But I just came in at 9 p.m. and my husband and sons had been out for pizza. The leftovers were in the fridge, so guess what????:rollpin:

Now how far do you reckon that'll set me back??? Gosh, I was doing so good!!!! I'm so weak when it comes to either pizza or birthday cake!!!!! My 2 fave things. I will get back OP tomorrow, I jsut hope I don't actually gain weight!!! I'm so dumb.

I am so proud of myself...I am going to do this...'cause this is my last chance...I have tried everything else....I want to see my clavical bones again...I think they are sexy..and even though I am 55 years old..I still want to feel sexy and pretty...I will do this. :D

We had a good day today...we live at the Lake and we left our beach and boated over to a different beach...It was beautiful today...anyway...everyone was chowing on chips and beer. I had a bottle of water and a diet dr. pepper. I was starving when we finally came home..we left at 10:30 am and didn't get home till 6:00 pm...we grilled a large Salmon fillet on the grill...I ate lots of it...I was starving!! (also had salad) I feel so good. I was OP all day and that is the second day in a row. I am so determined now. I saw a picture of myself that someone took over the 4th of July...I look like a big water buffalo!! I am going to lose this weight...I only want to lose 40 or 50 lbs. That is not much...Just 10lb goals at a time!!!

Started WW April 15-209
SBD July 17-192
today 188
Short term goal 150

hello!

Barb, thanks for the welcome and congrats on the weight loss! it does feels so good to loose again! :bravo: wow! the 180's...I cannot wait to get there myself. Feels like I have been stuck in the 190's forever...

Congrats on an op day whimsey. hat is what it takes, one day at a time.

Kim, pizza and cake--well I can relate there with the cake thing. Last night I dreampt of cake--now that is just sick!!!! Anyway, just get back on course today. You will be ok. It's when we have more cheats than op days that we are in trouble.

As for me, had a pretty good op day. had salmon from Red Lobster--grilled and got a whole cuz I thought I was hungry..but couldn't finish it, so I brought the rest home and plan to substitute it in day 2 phase one lunch salad for the tuna. I got double veggies in place of the potato and no croutons on my salad, no reg cheese either. And no garlic cheese biscuits. And to be honest, it was easier than trying to stay op with ww. When I got home I made some of that ricotta cream--boy is it good, and it really attacks the sweet tooth. (for now anyway) I have got to get this butt in gear and start regular exercise again. I have kind of lagged there.

Have a great day! :)

Doing a combo - I hope!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It worked! Just back from Church where everyone was delighted with the new paint job.
Nummy! Red Lobster. Good going on control over what you ate, Healthyeater. I tell them hold the croutons because I'm allergic to wheat. Works fine every time!
Whimsey, we are proud of you! yesterday was a wonderfully controlled day for you. One day at a time!
I moved officially to Phase II this morning. Did that bread ever taste great! Now I need to get the weight to move again.
This afternoon I tackle a few pre-judging jobs for the Schoolwork Judging tomorrow morning. I have lots of help and a super experienced so it should go well. Lady Anna is ready to start at 8 - my kind of gal!
I do intend to do some chaise time this afternoon to recharge my batteries before the next hectic week. Join me in a Crystal Lite!
Watch out on the LowCarb beer!!! It still contains maltose - which is the killer (bad) ingredient in beer...its not the carbs that will set you back but the sugar rush!!!
Tonight's my 3rd wedding anniversary - and although my hubby and I are on day 13 of Phase I...we are going out...:)
The good news is that we have both lost 11 pounds a piece in 13 days!!!!!! Since we are going out tonight - we will probably stay strict on Phase 1 for another week...then start venturing into Phase II...:gift:
Good evening Ladies,
Rotobabe, congrats on your anniversary and losing 11 lbs!:balloons:
Ellis, I just made your Cheddar-stuffed Burgers for lunch. OMG, they were so good, they were Orgasmic (can I say that?):o
I can not stand Seafood, but DH loves it. I wish I did. It would give me more choices of meat. I could eat those hamburgers every meal! Plus seafood is so much healthier.
DH just walked in here and said it was too late to cook lets go out to dinner. I tell you I was never a cook, now I'm in the kitchen all the time. Not complaining, I'm enjoying the delicious recipes. I stay home, I don't know how you all do it with working outside the home! My hats off to you!
Can you have beef for lunch and dinner on the same day?
07-20-2003, 10:17 PM
Oh no, 2dogs!! I was just coming back here to tell you that I didn't mean that the way it sounded! :lol:
When I said it was "freaking me out", I meant that I kept thinking your posts were mine, and I was reading them and thinking I'd lost my mind. heh heh. (that didn't sound right either. :lol: But I think you know what I mean...)
I WANT you to have Grommet. Please, take him back! He's so cute! I've been here long enough that I should have my own uploaded avatar by now. ;) (even if it DOES confuse people and they think I'm a man. snicker)
OMG, Coton... are they good? I haven't even TRIED them yet! Okay, I'm making them this week! Thanks for testing them for me!! :D (if Ruth can say some of the things SHE says, then you can certainly say, "orgasmic" :lol: )
I stay home, too! And I HATE cooking! (my poor husband... he's delighted if he comes home just TWICE a week and dinner's made!)
Ellis, YES they are good! DH wanted to go out tonight, but I chose to stay home and have ginger chicken. Went to make it and realized it needed to marninate. It was way too late to wait for that, I was an hour past my feeding time!LOL So, we warmed up the other 2 burgers. Oh, by the way I didn't put the cheese in the middle of the burgers and melted it on top. Do you think it's bad to have them twice in one day?
Well, if you have read the food journal, you'll see I screwed up again today. My sister brought me a Toblerone bar, and I ate it then another piece of pizza-I am totally PMSing. Help me!!!! Somebody come bust my hiney and make me do right!!!!!
The rest of you sound like you're doing so well. I will have to do better tomorrow-I had a lot of sewing and embroidery to do this weekend, and I was soooooooo stressed, so I will not be so bad tomorrow. I usually have willpower but it's just an "off" weekend.
Hey, the rest of you chickadees keep it up!!!!!!!!!!!
Ellis, you're too funny! You never know.....maybe I am your doppelganger! LOL
Since you begged so sweetly *grin*, I will take Grommet back if that is what you really want. One of these days I'll figure out how to make my own.......
