Olivia, I keep track of that on MFP since it gives me the breakdown, which is what I need to see :) If I didn't I would over eat like crazy (more often than I do) most days, smh :)

I'm so excited about tomorrows weigh in. I so want to see the 150's ... It's in my throat I have already swallowed it :rofl: I read some where that 250 calories in 30 minutes is good enough for exercise and the past two days plus today is what I have been doing. I haven't quite got it down to 30 minutes, it's a little over and today I burned 300 calories. Feeling good :)

Goal: to keep to calorie plan. 2200 until the 9th. 9th-11th no counting (meet weekend) 12th - end of month 1900 cals a day with 150+ grams protein.

I want to see how 1900 a day shakes out. after this meet, i have until november, which will be the master's nationals in dallas. plenty of time to lose a bit of weight, and get closer to my weight goal. would be *awesome* to move into the 198 category, instead of 198+.

Wow! Well your wishing worked for me! I was NOT expecting to be down on the scale this morning AT ALL because 1. TOM is hours away 2. I ate higher calories yesterday (including bread/dairy/starch which I haven't eaten in 2 weeks) and 3. I did not exercise yesterday. To my surprise, I was down 0.50 lbs :D Your spoken words did the trick! ;)

192.00 lbs this morning. Getting closer to the 180's! I have a tough workout planned this morning. Looking forward to it!

Well your spoken words did the trick for me also ;) ... down a pound. I got my toe into the 150's :D I weighed in at 159.8 with only 6 hours of sleep. I hate that but I'll make it to bed on time tonight ;)

Can't say the same for myself. I seem to be going in the opposite direction. Up to 194.2 today. Peanut has had a couple of rough nights though, which means a very tired momma has had a couple of rough nights also. I am going to live and breathe my coffee today :coffee2:

Rennie we'll be at it a while yet. He's only got six right now, working on the 7th and 8th, one of which is a molar. He didn't get his first teeth until he was 10 months, then got 4 in a row, waited about a month, got another two, and then nothing for almost 4 months. Now we're at it again.

No wizard :D I will have a stall/plateau soon I'm sure. It happens on these journeys. I use to have them all the time. I'd literally be stuck weeks. I have read every thread that interest me and followed some people's journeys on 3FC and asked questions and found a few things that interest me. So what is working for me is a mixture Intermittent Fasting, Johnson Up Day Down Day, Slow Carb-4 hour body, cutting out bread (I do have my gobble every now and then) no pasta except Shirataki zero pasta, and no rice. I am trying to get the potatoes out of my system but so far they are not causing any major issues when I eat a spoon of mashed potatoes or 10 home cooked fries with ketchup. I get all of my water in which is half of my body weight. And instead of killing myself trying to burn a ton of calories the last few days I have only done 250 calorie burns and it is working (actually yesterday because I knew my son was gonna make fried chicken (lightly battered) I burned 300. I hope I can continue this before I get comfortable like I've done in the past. My incentive this time is I found a picture on a usb drive of me at what I thought was 165, I was still big. When I looked up my weight for that date I actually weighed 172 I think. So not pretty and I still have the same stomach roll that I had then, so I have a long way to go. Thanks for listening :hug:

Happy May Day!

Ugh so I ended April falling off my wagon. But, I'm back on board today and looking to have a fun filled weekend with working out and losing more weight! I can't weigh until tonight when I get home so will update my May 1 stat later. I know I kept a loss for April, so May will be all about losing even more. Have a trip to London in June, so I am really excited to hopefully lose 10-15 pounds!

Rennie, way to go!!!!! Congrats on the new decade girl! That's awesome!

Kukkie, sending all the luck and peace to you during teething! I know that's tough! I am about to walk into the kitchen here at the clients office and make my third cup of coffee. It's been a long morning already!

I just posted on another thread about how I'm a firm believer in adequate sleep being beneficial for weight loss. I went to bed early last night to make sure I got extra sleep lol ;)

Rennie - I'm an intermittent faster as well. I actually love it. I started doing this last year for weight loss and the pounds were flying off. Once I started back on my weight loss journey this year, I incorporated intermittent fasting again and same thing.....weight just melts off (for me). I also think that constantly switching things up really helps and I agree with limiting the breads/starches. I even limit my meat now to 3 times per week which I'm finding is plenty for my body. After years and years of trying to figure out what works for me, I think I'm settling into "balance" lol. A balance of everything...exercise, food, etc.

My day is pretty much complete! Oh am I full! I hadn't eaten meat in 17 days and today was my paleo day. That meat really gets ya full!

Thursday - Day 18
Food: Paleo Day
Meal 1: omelet (no cheese) with sautéed veggies (broccoli, red peppers, green onions, zucchini, tomatoes) with avocado & maple syrup; 2 slices bacon; 1 apricot
Meal 2: 8oz baked salmon w/homemade BBQ sauce; sautéed veggies (zucchini, red peppers, green beans, red onions, spinach, tomatoes); iceberg lettuce w/homemade French dressing

Exercise: Treadmill - 2.61 miles; squat challenge - day 1 - 50 squats w/10lb weights; plank challenge - day 1 - 20 seconds low plank; arm challenge - day 1 - 6 tricep dips, 4 push ups, 8 mountain climbers, 8 bicep curls w/12.5lb weights

Water: 2.50 liters

I'm feeling good!! I think I'm going to add a jumping jacks challenge in. That can be my warm up to my other challenges :D

Good morning :coffee2: - happy Friday :)

We slept better last night than we have all week. Peanut still woke up a couple of times last night, but it wasn't nearly as bad.

Down 0.1 to 194.0 but I also succumbed to pizza takeout last night. Hubby had a craving and because I've just been so exhausted this week, I agreed. Brought lunch and snacks that are on plan for today, so it's kind of a improvised detox day. Going to flush out sodium with water as well.

It's Friday girls! Glad the weekend is here! I weighed in last night and was high, as to be expected since I fell off the wagon on Wednesday night and I weighed in at the end of the day after flying home. On the positive side, when I got home last night at 10pm, I actually had the motivation and energy to go workout so I ran around my neighborhood for 1.8 miles in 30 mins. Slow time, but hey - we all start at the bottom right?? :) Weighed in this morning about 2.5 pounds lighter so I guess that run helped :)

Rennie, haha GA should be fun if you get to go! And let's all go to London! 3FC meet and greet in London! :)

Kukkie, glad you guys were able to get some rest :) You needed it and so does your body! I like your plan - I feel like I have a detox day once a week now b/c I am working on that willpower and food thing, lol.

calluna, welcome! I'm not good at posting daily either - but I find that when I do post, and I have others looking for me, it helps my weight loss 100%. It's like working out - if you don't make it a priority then it never becomes routine :)

Glad to hear Kukkie :hug: I'm trying to do a detox day also. For some reason I wanted buttered popcorn at 10:30am but the kids aren't here to dig into it so it's not wise for me to pop a bag. I had a strawberry pomergranate CARBmaster yogurt instead, 60 cal, 4 carbs 9 protein :)

akelly, you did well last evening :high: I've been down twice but before the children so I'm sure I'd be in awe also. There's so much for them to see. I will keep you posted closer in and oh my wouldn't it be nice for us to meet in London as a 3FC retreat of some sort :)

2. 222.8 - 2,012 calories - 159 grams protein - squats and bench today. not super intense, but i did get to 90% of my max in squat and 95% of my max in bench.

i've got two rest days coming up, and i am not supposed to even do cardio until after the meet. it seems weird to do so little. he told me not to worry, but i still worry!

Have had an unexpected fun but unhealthy Saturday. Did great yesterday, but today was not on plan for dinner. Had Japanese with some old HS friends and then had dessert. Also, I pulled weeds Friday afternoon and ran hard for 1.5 miles so my legs and lower back are soreeeee. Sitting in bed with the heating pad turned way up!

Hope everyday has a great and restful Sunday Funday! Hoping the legs are looser so I can workoff todays calories!

akelly my weekend was unplanned fun/good eats also ;) Hope your legs are looser for the workout :hug: I went to Charlotte with my daughter yesterday and there was a Popeye's in the mall. I HAD to have a red beans and rice. I also ate half of a biscuit which I only ate because it was there. We went just to go to Ikea and guess what I had a hot dog on the white bun, a bag of their chips and a cone. I was gonna get their cinnamon roll but decided once I got to the register I'd have a cone instead so that was my only good thing. I think the only reason I didn't have a big gain was because we walked and we walked. I'm not gonna even go through what I ate today but let's just say the only thing that could be considered nutritious is the CARBmaster yogurt I ate :D
The boys wanted to go to the gym so I hope I combated some of the mess I did there. :crossed: Hope your legs feel better today :hug:

So my detox day on Friday was a miserable failure. Ended up going out for lunch with colleagues, had Italian. Went to an engagement party on Saturday, Indian buffet. I suppose the dancing helped to maintain the weight. Yesterday was a low cal day, and I somehow managed to get back down to 193.5 this morning.

I have a dreadful toothache that started yesterday though. Need to make an appointment with the dentist.

Hi ladies...whew it's Monday. Half way done with it! Travel days (coming to work) are exhausting, but gotta earn that paycheck :)

Weekend was OK overall I guess. I lost a pound between Friday and this morning, which is a miracle in itself, haha. The boyfriend has gained some weight so last night we decided to come up with a friendly competition. (OK in reality it won't be friendly, I will dominate!) This week the challenge is to restrict breads/rice/desserts and whoever loses the most weight (%) gets a $50 prize of their choice. LOL...he told me he was going to spend tonight searching for his reward, I told him don't waste his time, he won't be getting it. :)

Rennie, I love Ikea!! Sounds like you had quality time and enjoyed yourself! My legs are still working themselves out. I also slept wrong and have the worst crick in my neck. This stuff used to be non-issues when I was in my early 20's....goodness, this body doesn't recover as fast as I need it to!

1/2 tsp coconut oil (gonna substitute Promise light the next time

2. 222.8 - 2,012 calories - 159 grams protein - squats and bench today. not super intense, but i did get to 90% of my max in squat and 95% of my max in bench.

Rennie, I am about an hour and fifteen mins from ATL so I understand having a drive to get to the "good" shopping. All my town offers is a Dillards and Macys...Nordstrom, Ikea, Niemans, Crate and Barrel, etc are all in ATL. Frustrating but I would prob be broke as a joke if I lived in a shopping town, lol!

Would love to try your muffins but I am allergic to eggs :( And seafood and tomatoes... blah!

Good morning friends! Having a good day so far. I stayed on plan yesterday except for having 2 chicken tenders last night. That's a win in my book, lol. made an appointment to see my doctor on Friday for appetite issues. I saw him 4 years ago and he put me on 1/2 pill of phentermine to help boost the energy and most importantly control the appetite. Hoping that will help me get these cravings under control, at least here in the beginning while working on my new journey!

Kukkie, man I'm sorry :( Sick babies are tough and so hard on the heart strings. Hoping your sweet little one gets to feeling better soon!

LGW, congrats on the looser clothing! That's always exciting to notice a difference :)

akelly I wonder if you can find a substitute for the egg. I am starting to think eggs do something to me. When I eat them boiled and sometimes scrambled I have this awful burping thing afterwards, drives me nuts, the smell is horrid. But in the one minute muffin I don't think there is an issue. Maybe because you microwave it, idk :) Sorry to hear about your allergies. I love seafood especially blue crab which was readily available up north. LOL I use to live near all of those stores but I love Goodwill also and the ones in the area we lived in were great unlike here where most things to me should have been trashed. :) My daughter use to say I am the only person she knows that can go to a thrift store and buy things that look new or that still have the tags on them :). Good job on the chicken tenders.:high: cravings are the beast :(

I have am up of 2.8lbs since yesterday. I know it's water so I'm not worried. I am up 4.2lbs from my low still not worried. I have a better mind set for some reason this go around. I have had four totally off plan days. My carbs have been really high these days. So once I get that under control I'll be fine. TOM showed up for one day and then gone. I am not understanding this stage of life with my body. But this happened last year in August so it is what it is :) maybe I'm about to go through menopause :D I plan to go to the gym this afternoon to help with the up and start tomorrow fresh with low carb low cal :)

WHOOSH! my first in 17 months. I am back down to 160.0. That walk/jog - (tried to) run I did yesterday that had my back aching last night did what it was supposed to do. We have church tonight so as soon as I get my daughter on the bus I am headed to the gym :) I WILL be back in the 150's tomorrow :crossed:

Kukkie, no power??? Man, that stinks! Nothing like a shake up to get the morning going, right? Just poured my first cup of caffeine into my blood stream so hoping to get my energy soon!

As for me, yesterday was a good day! I rocked the food plan. I woke up about 2am starvingggg and just had 2 handfuls of mixed nuts, some water, and went back to bed. Hate that I had to get up and eat something - but way better than walking to the lobby of the hotel and grabbing candy bars and Mt. Dew! :) I did 1.5 miles of jogging at Katy Trail here in Dallas. So awesome. Got to use my new Garmin Forerunner watch - loveee it!!! Can't wait to weigh in on Saturday morning and see who wins the challenge (me or my bf!). It will be me!!

Hope everyone has a smooth Wednesday... it's downhill from here!!!

Ladies, I saw a new low 159.4 :) I was gonna eat a baked potato last night after church but I didn't. I made it then wrapped it and put it in the fridge. Instead I ate crustless pepperoni pizza. Going to a movie today so I hope the popcorn doesn't mess me up since I'm eating it early in the day, have a pass that gives popcorn and a drink. One of my evening weaknesses was/is popcorn and it use to get me every time with the water gain in the morning. Hoping to keep the numbers going down the rest of the week :crossed:

Goodness, travel day already. Week flew by! Nasty storms in Dallas, hoping to get home at a decent hour!

Worked out last night. Having some family drama so couldn't get my focus on jogging so just walked 2.5 miles. Not great but it was something and got me sweating. Still on my food plan this week so that's definitely some progress :)

I am still waiting on my treadmill!!! If I was in the treadmill business, knowing what I know about people who want to lose weight, I would have delivery within 24 hours with set up! When you are ready....you are ready....you CANNOT have a 3 week delivery time! Thank goodness for this walking challenge that I am still interested :-)

By the way, since 4/23 've been logging at least 10000 steps. There were 2 days that I was under. It is very difficult getting 10000 steps a day, especially if you think that you are active "at work" -- you'd be amazed! I have to go walking during lunch and in the evenings for 1 hour to make my steps! Try it! :-)

Thanks for the support everyone! So, last night turned into a nightmare! The bottom fell out when I was walking to my car in the parking lot - got absolutely soaking wet - like I had jumped in a pool. So, co-worker and I drove to the airport and just MASSIVE flash flooding everywhere. Got to Hertz rental and dropped the car off. Yet again, continuing to be soaked. Had to stand outside for 20 mins waiting on shuttle and there were straight line winds gusting with the rain. Just stood there because at that point, not much else to do! So, got to the terminal and had to be herded into the tornado shelter due to the tornado warning since once was spotted pretty close by. Got changed into a different outfit, got to gate. Flight cancelled (you would think they would have cancelled before all this, but no!). Sooo....last step - get on the phone and luckily due to status got re-booked on the later flight going out of the other Dallas airport so had to hop in a cab and spend an hour in traffic getting to the other airport (only like 15 miles away lol). Of course had crazy delays there - so what was originally a 5:30pm flight finally left DFW at 11:30pm. Landed in GA at 1:45am and drove home and walked in the door at 3:45am. Woke up at 8am for my doctors appointment....

So anyways, that's my saga and how does the weight loss angels reward me for all that hard work this week?? They don't! Only lost 1 pound. I was so disappointed, but I'm hoping it's lack of sleep and lack of BM's. Blah!

LGW, I have some coworkers that got fit bits and are doing the walking challenge. They really love it and track their steps like calories!! You are so right about a 3 week wait! Geez! Think they would offer like a $50-100 expedited fee or something to get that down to 1 week for those that are eager. Motivation and timing is everything in the weight loss world!

Rennie, sorry for TOM :( Mine is in a week or so.....ugh. Not looking forward to it!

The wedding is this week! I'm leaving on Thursday. The original dress that I ordered that did not fit me when it came 2 months ago now fits perfectly. My aunt is just doing some alterations in the boob area so that I'm not spilling out lol. It seems I can never just pick a dress in my size and have the boob area fit (I was just measured this weekend and I wear a 36G!). I'm hoping these girls will become more manageable as I continue to lose weight lol.

weigh in this morning 166.2 I ate a crazy amount of junk food yesterday but wow. The sodium in all of the chips I ate was the kicker I'm sure and the cup cakes :drool: but they are gone now so I should have a nice drop tomorrow IF I eat (low calorie /low carb today)

Rennie, I'm not the bride (it's my brothers wedding) just a bridesmaid but I will be sure to post a pic when I come back ;) Water weight can add TONS on the scale. I remember binging one time and ate an entire 9 oz bag of jalapeno cheese puffs, the next day ate wings and onion rings and a burger and fries, and when I say that I had swollen up like a balloon? It was unbelievable! When I pressed my legs, they left HUGE indentations and my body was visibly swollen all over. Excess sodium is no joke!! For me, it usually takes 4 disciplined days to get rid of all of it. You'll see your 150's again this week! :D

Hey everyone!

Crazy weekend over here. Honestly, my place looks like a tornado ran through it. Keeping up with a toddler is NOT an easy task, especially when you've still got boxes you're trying to unpack. Oy vay.

Went out for mother's day lunch yesterday, and then ordered pizza for dinner last night. Why you ask? I couldn't tell you. I'm at 194.0 this morning.

I do have some things working in my favour today though. Beginning today, hubby is on a different shift at work, which means he's gone before we leave and he comes back after we get home. So that means, I'm walking from home to the bus, then from the next bus stop to Peanut's daycare, then I walk to the office, and reverse that at the end of the workday. All in all, it's about 45-1 hour of walking, 5 days a week for the next six weeks. Felt kinda gross and sweaty by the time I got to work, but at least I have no meetings this morning and I'm in before most people so I can fix myself up. And I've already had half a litre of water. The other good thing is that he won't be getting home so late, so I can still hit the gym for weights in the evening. I'm looking forward to it - miss the burn!

Happy Monday guys! Hope everyone had a great weekend and got to celebrate someone special or be celebrated by loved ones :) I enjoyed spending time with my mom and brother and did not eat off plan all day! Had my doctor appt on Friday and got put on 1/2 pill of phentermine for 30 days. Did not want a full dose and did not want it to be long term. I ran yesterday and it felt great. Really excited to see this progress this summer :)

Kukkie, the walks will be nice...hopefully not too much of a hassle and burden on you. Great silver lining perspective there!

Olivia, you look gorgeous!!! Congrats on the dress!! Non scale victories like that are sooo rewarding mentally and physically!

Rennie, sodium is the devil! It gives a false sense of weight! But just flush it out and try to stick to your plan and you should see s good whoosh again :)

akelly - thank you so much! :) So how does phentermine work? (if you don't mind me asking). Will it help reduce your weight without you having to cut calories?

It is ovulation week for me. The scale does not budge during ovulation week no matter what I do lol :D I remember trying to "defeat ovulation week" by forcing the scale to move and doing about 5 miles on the treadmill. I got on the scale the next day and "whaaamp whaaaaamp".........I had been defeated lol. So I just accept that it will have its victory 7 days out of the month :D I'm going to need an extra spanx or bodyshaper to flatten the massive bloat I get during this week because it will be at its worse ON the wedding day :o

I just took measurements again and have lost (measuring both arms, bust, waist, hips, and both thighs) 21 inches off my body!! More than 6 inches off my waist so far and I've just slid under 36 inches lol (35.50 inches). :D I didn't take measurements from the start of my journey, which I should have done so I could know the true loss in inches. This is after two months I think. Yippeee!

I'm up 0.5 today to 194.5 - what the fudge? Probably my body holding onto some water. For the first time in a LONG time, I actually got in my entire 2 litres of water yesterday, and stuck to only one coffee! So proud of myself.

I am up to 168 today. Rings are tight. What's funny is that I went to Kroger on Saturday and was doing something and threw my hand up quickly and my ring on my right hand flew off, today it will take a tug to get it off. I don't want to speak on what my plan will be today because ... because :D

Olivia, no it reduces your appetite and increases your energy - so it is helping me to say no (b/c I'm not hungry like I used to be) to foods and focus on eating several small meals throughout the day, not just eat and eat, and then overeat at dinner b/c my stomach is hungry. The hunger growls and carb cravings that we all know (and hate) really challenged my willpower (or lack of) and after working 11-12 hour days I would lose all motivation and just veg out and go to bed. So this will help me here at the beginning to just get going and establish my routine and lose the first 15-20 pounds then back on my own. Congrats on the inches!! 21 in two months is amazing!!!!

Kukkie, congrats on the water intake! I find that sometimes if I have worked out a lot (or in your case all the walking) and then I intake more water than normal, my muscle are inflamed and holding onto that water and my scale bounces up even though the weight is not "fat". So frustrating but it will go back down :)

Rennie, haha crazy how bodies are sooo sensitive sometimes, and then other weeks it feels like we can pour liquid chocolate down our throat and still lose weight. Those weeks are rare, but man are they nice. When I see I didn't gain much after being off plan, I look up and thank God for the gift LOL.

Stayed on plan yesterday 100%. Got to the hotel late from the office last night but still went and ran 1 mile on the treadmill around 11pm. Have a good Tuesday!!

lol okay, because I was watching Man V. Food on the travel channel the other day and the host visited a restaurant where they put a fried egg on a burger. That's interesting to me and I think I will try it one day lol.

Scale the same today as expected (183.25) but I am SUPER SUPER happy with that weight right now! When I sucked my waist in this morning and measured it, I got 34.75 inches!!! Never been able to get that kind of measurement with a sucked in waist lol. I am loving all this shrinkage going on lol.

Last day before flying out to the wedding!

ok i need you guys. my meet is over, i'm happy i did it, it was fun, i broke a US record for NASA (woot!) but now i am back to the grind and my goal is to get to 198 by november and i need help. i am a certified food addict.

i ate and ate right before the meet and it's hard to come back down from that. i shouldn't whine, but man this is so much harder than just throwing some weights around at the gym. i have to be on my game 24/7.

this week, every day i have weighed between 228.4 and 229.8. super high for me.

i tried really hard to eat well today and i almost made it. big salads, fruits, veggies, lean proteins, enough good fats and then my kids want sonic and i take them and of course my toddler doesn't finish his shake (when did a small get so big???) so i had half of his shake.

it's that kind of thing that i need to get used to NOT doing. get used to just throwing it away. i used to do that all the time. kids not eating it? oack it up for later or toss it. end of story.

anyways... today
15. 228.8 - 2,227 calories - 194 carbs 81 fats 210 protein - rest day.

I'm at 194.9 today. Down from previous weigh in, but still up from last week. I'm also tired. Not sure why, sleep hasn't been horrible, taking my iron and thyroid meds. Maybe I should get tested again... It's been a while.

Thank goodness it's a long weekend here. Although, we have a wedding reception to attend tonight.

Good Morning, ladies!

Sorry I haven't caught up on the thread, I just wanted to post that I'm back from the wedding and it was an AWESOME time!! The actual wedding was on Saturday and I did EXTREMELY well with my eating on Thursday and Friday. On Saturday? Well, it wasn't bad. I just took a lot of bites and sips of things lol (champagne, wine, cake, chocolates, etc). No guilt whatsoever because I had the most fabulous time!! On yesterday, I ate out with family/friends for most of my meals as everyone wanted final gatherings before we all departed back to our home towns. I haven't weighed since Thursday and I'm going to hold off weighing until next Monday because I already know I'm holding on to water weight. I'm going to sleep most of the day, eat a burger (probably with an egg on it lol) and get back on track with diet and exercise tomorrow! I can't wait!! I still have plenty weight to lose! ;)

I have a plan today and so far it is working but I am only one meal in. I have had probably four really really high calorie days, two I know for sure but the other two I didn't keep track so to me that says a lot. I have been trying to do the 5:2 up/down day meal plan and so far I have failed miserably. I started out the month weighing 159.8 and have twice weighed in at almost 10lbs higher ... 5/13 ~ 168.0 and today ~ 167.8. ok end of confession ...

Oh wow...last post was Tuesday. Man, last week drug on and flew by at the same time, if that makes sense. Work was slow but personal life crap was tough. Tuesday was the anniversary of my dad's passing and also all that personal drama I spoke about a few weeks ago came to a close (kinda amicably just closing the door on the relationship which is tough since this person was close to me and my bf). Anyways...trying to move forward and not let that hinder me! The relationship was just at a tough place - 500 miles between us physically and so much going on in life that it was hard to keep that relationship in the mix. I did feel at times it was so taxing on me that I lost focus of a lot of my goals (weight loss, work, bf, etc) so it's probably best to just return to focusing on me and getting myself healthy.

As for my week, it went great! Lost 3.6 pounds which is good with me considering all the weekend events. Had 2 graduations, a wedding, and a belated mothers day dinner for my bf's mom. Ran 5 miles between Sat and Sun and ran all 3 nights while traveling last week, so major wins in the working out area :)

Olivia, glad your back safely!! And really glad you had a great time!! You deserved it :)

Kukkie, hope you got to enjoy your long weekend! I am sooo exhausted too and I'm not sure why!

Rennie, confessions are a good starting point :) You will get back on track I'm sure of it! Your fluctuations are a lot like mine - can lose 4 pounds overnight after a good workout, then eat a carb and gain 20. LOL. But, in the bigger pictures (which I know we all don't take enough time out to look at)...you're in the 160's... think back to when you were in the 200's, 220's. You would kill to be where you are today. Yes, you need to keep going and kick ***, but sometimes when the scale isn't playing nicely, step back and think about the beginning - look how far you have come and how much you have learned and lost thus far! It's truly amazing and you have to give yourself that credit from time to time!

Hope Monday ends sooner rather than later for all of us....

akelly sorry about the drama, and hugs to you with regards to your Dad :hug: You have a ton of NSV's plus the actual SV to be proud of. I am so very happy for you. With regards to me ... I think that's what scares me is the fact that I have come down some, yet I still have so far to go and I just keep messing up. I know how easy it is to go back to where I was and that is frightening. I have restarted this journey too many times and I would like to end it in 2014 or at least by the end of the year. My blood sugar has rocketed thanks to this mess (my fault) and the better I do in the morning the worse I do in the evening. However, today has been a good day and I think I'm gonna leave early to pick my son up from football practice so I can walk for about 30 minutes. I'm sure that will help since I can't go to the gym.

OMGoodness, I just fixed my ticker how maddening it is to know that I was 4lbs away from 155 on 5/8-5/10 and now I have 12lbs to lose, smh

With the long weekend and all, it's technically Monday for me here :lol:

I weighed in at 195.1. Could have been worse. We did a lot of eating Friday-Sunday. Yesterday was better, and we went for a really really long walk. Today should be even better, I have packed everything under the sun for my snacks and lunch, all on plan stuff. I keep complaining that the scale isn't moving, but the reality is I'm not doing my part to make it move. I keep sneaking in bites here and there of stuff, as if it isn't going to affect me, but all together, it makes such an impact. Well, here's to another first day!

Fell off the wagon last night and ordered a sub from jimmy johns. Felt sick today I guess because it was way too much too late. Also had some dizzy spells all afternoon. Still got out to the trail tonight and ran 1 mile in 15 mins (good for me, didn't push myself too hard since I felt dizzy and sick). Of course I wanted to do at least 2 miles but the last thing I needed was to get sick and start puking in front of all these people and being at least a mile from my car. I did sweat quite a bit and felt proud for even doing something. The old me would have written off the workout by 3pm and ordered pizza and desserts for dinner.

Kukkie, hope your Monday was gentle :) Good for you for being honest to yourself. Your bump up on the scale wasn't too bad so I know if you keep up the focus, you will get down in no time. Weekends can be so fun and such a whirlwind and then we get on here on Monday and have to face the music with confessing lol. At least we understand each other. I find myself nodding my head and laughing a little bit because most of the stories are the same stories I have myself.

Rennie, I completely understand. I was so worried about gaining my weight back. And then over the course of 2 years I gained most of it back. It all started with 1 slip. Then a week of slips. Then excuses galore and refusing to acknowledge I had gained 20 pounds. And then bam, 50 pounds gained back. And the last year has been spent just wallowing in self pity and losing the same 10 pounds over and over. So this past month I have really finally started progressing along a new journey. With new lessons and new goals and a new mindset. So I am inspired by you for being so good at catching yourself and refusing to creep up every week.

I wasn't going to get on the scale until next Monday but I wanted to see what the 3 day damage was lol. I'm up 5 lbs to 187.75. I'm not going to change my ticker because I believe it's mostly water weight and will be gone by next Monday.

I jogged 4 miles without stopping yesterday because I had SO much energy from all that food I ate over the course of those 3 days. I could have kept going too but my time on the treadmill was running out lol.

Hello! I hope that everyone is doing well!

I'm still hanging in there.
Although my weight has remained in the "50's" it is a downward trend.
I am walking on my treadmill for at least 30 min in the morning and 30 min in the evening.
I have also maintained at least 10000 steps a day!
I am continuing to eat my "personal trainer food" without many cravings -- no fast food since I started on 4/10.
I juiced over the weekend with 6 juices a day from a local juice bar -- went pretty well!

I will have a plan....

Rennie - vanilla wafers are one of my addictions lol. I have to stay far, far away from them or I could eat a whole box..no kidding lol. My weakness this past weekend was stuffed mushrooms and beef empanadas. I was following the servers around like a pesty gnat just popping them one after the other lol. Then the next day ate two plates at a breakfast buffet, then in the evening had sushi, pasta and rice at Benihana, then the day after had an egg/sausage mcmuffin and a hashbrown at mcdonalds at the airport, then that evening had a burger and fries. Yeah I over did it lol. Funny how that weight can creep on so fast and easily! :o

It took me 4 days to get all my water weight off from my 3 loose eating days over this wedding weekend. I hit a new low today! I'm 182.50 (my previous low was 182.75). So now that I'm back to my ticker weight, I'm focusing on seeing the 170's. I WILL NOT be undoing all my hard work by pigging out this holiday weekend lol.

Olivia -- before I eat anything now I think about the recovery! You are right! It takes 3-4 days to recover. Your body is using your fat for fuel/energy and every time you eat fuel that you don't need your body uses that food for energy instead...and if you don't burn it off as fuel...it turns into fat! So you have to decide...do I want my body to burn the bad food I just ate...or continue to burn my existing fat! :-)

So I hope this isn't TMI lol, but I woke up in the middle of the night with this horrible stomach ache. I was confused because I have not been eating bad. Needless to say, my trip to the bathroom took off at least 1.5 pounds lol. So when I got on the scale this morning, I was down 2.25 lbs!! I'm now at 180.25 and getting ever so close to the 170's! :D

I'm going to grill some beef hot dogs for my girls today and just stick to my plan ;)

Welcome back Future and LGW (I think I forgot to say that when I first saw you posting again).

Rennie - we're going to do better, we both know we can, so let's do it!!!

Olivia - ahhhh, congratulations!!!!! You're in the 70s. So happy for you.

As for me. Oh boy did I have a tiring weekend. It was my sister in law's bachelorette on Saturday. The spa we went to is right next door to this really well known bakery in the city that does custom cookies in 2.5 minutes - you pick your dough and toppings. Needless to say, we made a stop in after the spa. The place we went to for dinner had minimal options for this vegetarian who is allergic to far too many things. I thought I'd be safe with this arugula salad, but half the plate ended up being carrots, which I'm not allowed to eat. I ended up ordering a side of french fries so I wouldn't starve and they were wayy too salty. On the way home, we stopped for pizza because it was the only thing open that late and we were starving. I weighed in at 199.9 yesterday morning and FREAKED OUT. I knew it was water retention and late night eating, but still. Not a fun number to see when you've already moved past it.

As of this morning, I'm at 195.0 but my hands and feet still feel swollen so I know I'm still holding onto water. The good news is that yesterday afternoon, I made dinner for the next couple of days. I have my lunch today. And it's going to be one of our first HOT days this year, so I'll be chugging away that water.

Sorry for the long ramble. Hope my American friends enjoy a fantastic holiday today.

I think I need something to be accountable to/for short term or in spurts if that makes sense.

Went to my daughters and enjoyed the pool. I can't swim so I just enjoyed playing in the water with 3 of the them, two didn't want to go. We had fun and I was hungry on the ride home so I ate bagged popcorn. Not good I know but I wanted a cup cake, so I think the popcorn was a better choice. Today's weigh in 168.

Rennie - I can't swim either lol, but I love to flop around in the pool lol. I declare I'm going to take lessons one day. Also, have you ever thought about sitting down in advance and creating an actual food plan that you could hold yourself accountable to throughout the weeks? I think that has been a big part of my weight loss success thus far. It takes the guess work out of what you're going to eat in the coming weeks and by planning it ahead of time, you can ensure that it is well-balanced and healthy.

Olivia, I confess I am just BAD. I plan my meals on MFP and then decide I don't want that and then I eat what ever. All it takes for me is one wrong thing to enter my mouth and the day is ruined ... the ruined day turns into a few days here lately so I don't know what to do. I think I may just go back to the way I ate in May of 2010 when I first started or at least give it a week (the sodium will kill me) But I may try to eat a frozen meals (S/O, L/C and H/C) for lunch and dinner again. No thinking and I like them. I will keep you all posted.

Yay for a short week! Will take me a few days to recover from the last weekend and get ready for the new one coming up, ha. I think that's why work days were invented - give us a chance to recoup!

I'm up 3 pounds due to the holiday weekend. Didn't workout and ate off plan most days. Getting back on track today! I have a few co-workers who are working on running/weight loss too and we all apparently went off track this weekend.

LGW/Olivia, you make great points about having to recover for a week after a day of binging! I'm sure I will pay the price for the holiday weekend...would think we all would learn by now, right??

future, welcome back!! Glad to see you recommitting and joining our group! I don't weigh daily either but the accountability keeps me in check most days and I always think about this group when I'm successful and when I'm de-railing!

Kukkie, man what a crazy morning! No water can really make mornings and life tough!! Water, electricity, transportation, etc...all those are things we lean on in every aspect and when they break down or get removed unexpectedly, it throws the whole world into chaos! Congrats on making it through!

Rennie, LOL your cupcake vs bagged popcorn comment made me laugh. Yes, you did make a better choice. I love pools..I had one growing up. I am considering getting one installed at my house...I think I would really enjoy it. Not sure I would enjoy the cost :)

LGW - I LOVE juicing. From personal experience, I have gained many detoxification and health benefits from it. I do periods of juicing sometimes, and I always have 1 juicing day a week. I won't even get into the weight loss benefits....CRAZY!! :D

Rennie - How did the rest of your eating day go yesterday?

I'm down 0.75 lbs to 176.25 this morning. Couldn't be more pleased! When I look at how much weight I have to lose to get to my ultimate goal of 130, it doesn't seem so bad! I've lost more weight already than what I have to lose to get to goal :D

Hi Rennie! :) :hug:

You want a recipe? How about a yummy low-cal fish recipe? This is one that's become a favorite of mine, after playing with it for a while and figuring out amounts... and can be modified pretty easily to fit the number of people you are feeding.

Start with frozen tilapia filets, thaw them out, and pat them dry.

Line a baking sheet with foil and cooking spray or parchment paper and lay the filets out.

Heat your oven to 350.

Top each filet with (in this order):
-1tbsp sour cream (and spread it out)
-1tbsp panko bread crumbs
-1/2 tbsp parmesan cheese
- sprinkle with black pepper and garlic powder

Then stick them in the oven for 20 minutes!

I had 2 filets last night (7.6oz of fish) and it was below 400 calories and *tons* of protein! Tastes a lot like Parmesan crusted fish you can get at restaurants. YUM. :drool:

edit to add: What is the 5:2 diet plan? I've seen lots of people talk about it and know it's some kind of intermittent fasting, but haven't gotten too far into it. Good luck! :)

I'm still learning myself. You eat 5 days regular/high calories and then 2 days are at 500 calories. Today was my first OP day since I started. I keep falling off the wagon. I have gained almost 10lbs this month (depending on the day).

Rennie - noooo, don't disappear lol. So let me ask you, when you say it's hard to "stay on plan", what makes staying on plan so unattractive? I ask this because in the past, my idea of "on plan" was bland food with no flavor. I would run away from that too! But now, I have come to the understanding that eating healthy and nutritious food can be prepared in ways that make it absolutely delicious and you can still lose weight and not feel a bit of deprivation. I would never be successful on this journey if my on plan food was not as good as the off plan stuff lol.

Today I'm down 0.50 lbs to 175.75! Yippee! Moving right along ;) Hitting this next mini goal is huge for me and I'm getting close!

I just have a major major issue with carbs. I'm starting to really pay attention to what I read and eating more protein will keep me full longer and prayerfully not want any bad carbs. I also learned reading the OA site that sugar should be the 5th or lower ingredient on food labels. I have been reading food labels since 1997 but never paid attention to that. Now I know ... it's the little things to remember (or that are a wake up/V8 moment :D) also I didn't know anything about OA until yesterday. A friend on another thread recommended I check it out, so I googled it and printed off some info. I'm following their low carb eating meal plan today.

Mandy, how are the kitties?

I did my fast yesterday on the 5:2 diet, first one I've done correctly. I am proud to say I am down 3lbs of bloat to 164.8. I am so happy with myself. I have all of my meals planned and cooked for today, I will heat and eat :) Hoping for another nice weigh in tomorrow.

Olivia - (Pretty name! One of my friends just had a baby and named her Olivia Renee) Let me know what you think if you try it! It's really quick to prepare, but the sour cream isn't really what you taste in the final product, it's mostly there to hold the bread crumbs and parm to the fish!

Rennie - The kitties are doing well. Brownie (the one in my pic) who just had surgery a couple weeks ago doesn't act like it at all... crazy playful critters. Love them to pieces. Worse than a new mom with all the pictures lol.

Hubby is out and about doing man type things like getting the oil changed and getting a hair cut, sooooooo that means I get to exercise in the apartment without him watching and joking on me! I do step aerobics, mostly, and tend to sing and dance while I do it... he thinks it's a riot. Much easier when I'm not telling him to shut up 800 times in 30 minutes :P

Mandy glad to hear Brownie has fully recovered, and furry baby's are still our baby's :) I'm so glad that my husband would fall asleep (his nap time) when I would workout with the Wii or a DVD. It use to make me so uncomfortable when he was awake. I don't want to be watched. You'll probably burn more calories also.

Kukkie I just reread your post you have a loss but you're not smiling my friend, is everything ok?

Rennie just tired this week. We've had a couple of crisis situations at work, so having to deal with that has thrown me off what I actually needed to get done this week, so I've been working all day at work and then at night for a few hours after Peanut goes to sleep so that I can get caught up and back on track. Haven't been focused on what I'm putting in my mouth. Hubby (bless him) talked me out of ordering a pizza last night because I just didn't want to deal with dinner.

:hug: Kukkie, hope you get to rest this weekend. Make sure you nap when Peanut naps, I don't care what you'r doing if he falls asleep go lay down :hug: Sorry about the up. YAY for hubby. My husband doesn't like pizza but won't object if I were to get it. He doesn't like conflict so I would have been eating pizza. The kids are the ones that will say, "You aren't supposed to eat that!" or "That's not diet food!" :D so YAY for your husband, good call. :)

I was a little nervous yesterday (last night) my SIL showed up with spinach artichoke dip from Applebee's and I ate a few forks of it. I chalked it up to half without chips. The calories are 765 and the sodium is just ridiculous. But I did well throughout the day with food, water and green tea and I am down 1.6 to 163.2. Losing more of this bloat. TOM is trying to show up so I may have the bloat from that adding in also.

No way! I can't believe June is practically here already!!

No scale change for me today, which isn't surprising as TOM is scheduled to show up today. Lots of NSV's...I fit VERY comfortably in my size 12's, with room! I went to a clothing store and fit EVERY size 12 I tried on...and comfortably. I'm starting to have space in the cups of my bras. When I look in the mirror, I'm like "damn! you look good girl!!" :D So I'm ending the month of May feeling fabulous! ;)

Olivia, what a great way to end May :hug: I am so happy for you. I want to go try on clothes but I know I'll want to buy something and that is a :nono: right now so I'll have to do with what I have. But I am so happy for you. I can hear your joy :) LOL on the space in the bras. I remember you all's conversation. Unlike you all I have close to nothing so with weight loss the push up is the best thing ever invented. :)

I can't believe June is almost here either. One child is already out of school, the other will be out in a week to two weeks.

I had a really rough time staying OP this month but thanks to a few tips from some really good friends here and on MFP I got it together these last few days. It was really water weight with all of the ups and downs. I am ending today May 31 at 160.6 only a .8 gain for the month and my fbs this morning was 98. I have not seen it that low EVER. (actually I did when I was on insulin while pregnant with the last two children) but not after being diagnosed with type II in 2011. What a blessing. I am very very happy.

Just popping in to say hi and note that I ended may (according to yesterday's weigh in) starting at 330 and dropping to 319.6... so 10.4 pounds gone.

Today I'm getting a FitBit and hoping it will keep me motivated to stay on plan during my trip coming up! :)

YAAY!! That is so AWESOME Rennie!! Wow, that water weight started to FLY off towards the end of the month! I'm so happy for you! And hopefully you can rid yourself of type II once and for all!! The 150's are right at your feet again! :D

Thanks Olivia, I am hoping so :) You know I am learning that the treadmill is key for me along with low carbing of course. But if I can just not binge or snack which starts the binge I'm good.

I made it to the gym today. My shins were hurting and my stomach started to hurt so my burn wasn't nearly as good as yesterday but I did do 3.78 miles :)
