Good morning! It's supposed to be a BEAUTIFUL day up here in Boston....highs in the mid-70s! I'm going to take full advantage and take the dog to the beach and attempt some yard work (lots of sticks and leaves to clean up!)

Yesterday my future MIL and I went shopping for her Mother of the Groom dress for our wedding. It was fun to have some alone time together to do some wedding things and I even had the chance to re-try on my gown (the sample at the store). It's amazing how differently the same dress fits since January!! This is a sample size 10 and she had to clip it to stay up!

Morning,

Here is a first for me. I brought my own dinner to a restaurant! My DH celebrated his birthday and chose a Mexican restaurant for dinner. I looked on line before going, the food looked yummy but nothing IPPhase 1 or that could be modified. So I cut up veggies and heated up lean meatballs and when their dinner arrived I pulled my out. My bro in law and his wife were there and our kids so enough meals were ordered that no one seemed to care what I did. I was going to say allergies or gluten free in the wait staff asked:)

It felt great to take control, plan, and be successful.

Way to plan ahead and NOT let anything derail your determination to be successful!!

sunflwr so beautiful!

Jenny, way to handle a difficult situation! Fajitas are about the best thing in a Mexican restaurent(without the tortillas), but they are heavy on fats. Mexican is hard and really does not make me feel very good.

I brought one of my smaller tankinis this weekend to wear in the hotel hottub. It was too big!

Sunflwr...so beautiful!
Jlus...so different to go shopping now; isn't it?
Jen...so much willpower is exciting! I, too, bring my food to restaurants. Haven't had an issue.

My NSV is that I went to check out a new clinic/coach that's affiliated with my doctor; they are awesome so I'm switching... yay! They were so impressed with my progress, planning, and enthusiasm about IP, that they asked me to speak at an info session! Wow; me a role model for weight loss! Made my day!

My new coach & I talked about the positive support & ideas on 3 Chicks, too!

Good morning!

ReenHag - good luck!

sunflwr816 - that is a gorgeous dress, you are going to be a beautiful bride!

JLUS - have fun shopping! I have to do the same, all the spring stuff I saved from last year look silly on me now!

Jenny38 - way to plan ahead! And you're right, nobody really seems to care what other people eat, do they?

drd1961 - guess you get to go shopping too! I have yet to have the courage to try on a bathing suit. Maybe soon.

bluegingham - that's great that you're switching to a clinic you feel more comfortable with! You'll be a great motivator - you've done so well. Congrats!

Good Morning Everyone!! I'm going to have to start getting up earlier so that I can get my daily intake of positivity and inspiration before facing everyone at work. There's so much fast food that comes into the lunch room and leftovers from meetings - but I'm finally at the point that it doesn't really bother me! Yay for no cravings - but let's face it, pizza will always smell good haha.
Suflwr your dress is beautiful!! Great NSV!
Jenny! That is amazing! I wish I could have done that at the wedding I went to two weeks ago - but I was in it so carrying veggies all day would have been pretty difficult - I ended up not eating until the sirloin came for dinner. My brothers were happy though, they got to have my extra potatoes and dessert!
Have a good day everyone :)

April 14, 2014 - Monday Motivation

Itís helpful to make a list of all the reasons you want to lose weight and read it every single day, and also whenever your motivation lags. Remind yourself that while losing weight is hard (some of the time), the benefits youíll get as a result are SO WORTH IT (all of the time). Itís worth it to push past the momentary lack of motivation and not let it stand in the way of reaching your goals.

My NSV was taking a load of fat clothes out of the closet. :carrot:

I am parting with black Seven jeans in size 12. They were my first designer jeans and I got them from a thrift store. I haven't found any tens that fit me yet but the larger 12s have gone. Most size 12s are comfy.

Ditched the size Large yoga pants. Those puppies stretched so much I could wear them when up 30+ pounds. Stretch pants are EVIL.

SV here-when I started IP, I made up a visual chart, the boxes were filled with weight numbers from 237-172. Every time I weighed in, I would use a copper colored paint pen to cross off the result number. Today, I crossed off the last number. Have decided to keep going, since I really do not mind Phase I until the end of May. If you asked me in October if I thought I would be crossing that last number off by mid April, I would have been incredulous. But following the IP protocol has given me the tools and my spirit has given me the determination. Today is a good day!

Sunflwr - Hooray for you and what a gorgeous dress.

I will be mother of the groom for my oldest son's wedding in October. Although that was NOT the motivation for me to get healthy, I am determined that I am going to find myself a gorgeous, stunning non-mother-of-the-groom sort of dress...nothing outrageous but a beautiful evening dress that I can wear later too. Both Adrianna Papell and Tadashi Shoji make some beautiful lace sheaths. Looking for be a 10 by then, fingers crossed and mouth closed to make it!

Amber - I am so proud of how well you are doing! You have worked hard for this through some really challenging times. Walk tall, today, lady because you deserve kudos.

Hang in there for Onederland. It was a great and exciting point for me to make and I use it as motivation to NEVER let that first number on the scale be a "2" ever again.

Tisado - you made me smile! I think at some point in the fall, I am going to have a BIG bonfire with all my black stretch pants and tops. They to me are the symbol of the years I walked around fat and hiding (I thought) behind these anonymous, stretchy things. I am not one for wasting things but they have lived a long, much too long, life. Just have to figure out where to do it since I do not currently have a safe place to do it.

RuthAnn - know of any places in this area to start a small and safe bonfire?

SarahBell - I am glad to hear that your ebay issue became a non issue without having to fight it all. Lowers the stress and we know that helps our battle with the scale and health.

Happy Monday everyone. Congrats on the great weigh ins.
I haven't been able to discard any clothes yet but my jeans fit now without cutting into my waist. I knew I had to start IP when the clothes I had to buy in January for a trip were getting uncomfortably tight.

A few NSVs for today: Went over a friend's house Friday night, and she had wine and a campfire with S'mores. I drank my Mio lemondae and ate my Quest bar. It felt good to successfully navigate that first social situation. Second, it's been 3 full weeks since I started IP (with alternatives) and I have been 100% OP. I have NEVER been able to do that on a diet before. My first mini goal is to weigh less than my husband...second mini goal is to see a "1" as the first number on the scale.

Weighed in this morning...down 5.7 this week.

Yay! What a positivity-packed post! Great job on the campfire event. Wonderful. And congrats on 3 weeks OP. In my experience, it gets easier and easier to stay 100% as you get yourself through situations like that campfire, so you are doing great!

I SO get wanting to weigh less than your husband. That was my first (secret) goal, too. Now I weigh less than my 13 y/o son! I was just about exploding to tell someone that one -- but wouldn't tell them since I don't share specific numbers with anyone but my 3FC forum. ;) You are well on your way -- no doubt you will be crossing those goals off soon enough! Good job!

I have been on IP since January, as of this mornings weigh in, I'm down a total of 37lbs and 37.25 inches. And feeling fabulous :carrot:

I was wondering when did any of you start shopping for a different size in clothing. My jeans fit, altho baggy, but Im worried that my mind will play dirty tricks on me if I go and try on a smaller size and find that it doesnt fit comfortably etc. Another mental obstacle. Any advice?

Hi everyone! I've been trolling these threads for a long time and thought I'd introduce myself. I started IP with alternative products last Tuesday. So far, so good! I've been feeling energetic, and had some great success with self control out at restaurants this weekend. I'm down a total of 6lbs. I'm just starting to get hungry, it feels a little late in the game for that. Any recommendations on how to curb my appetite? IP materials say that in rare cases the hunger will subside after 6-7 days - anyone else experience this?

Thanks!

Here's what I've experienced, after the initial hunger that passed quickly I also find myself feeling famished when I'm about to start my cycle (which since on IP has been all over the place and happens pretty much once every two weeks). So anyway maybe your TOM is coming and you don't know it, which is a good sign since it means you're burning off fat and the hormones stored in it.

Congratulations on your progress! Glad that you are feeling fabulous :) I say go for the new size. Kohl's has been pretty friendly for reasonable priced "on the way down" clothes. You may be surprised by what fits. I think our minds take longer to adjust to the changes in our bodies.

Thanks!

I have had on and off hungry times throughout my 6 months on IP. My best survival tip is to drink hot tea or eat a pickle. Breaking up my protein to 2 oz at lunch and 6 at dinner really helped too. Congrats on your great start!

Sunflower, your dress is gorgeous. You are a beautiful bride :)

It took me 2 full weeks before the ravenous hunger subsided. Now I am mostly just "normal" hungry for meal times, with the occasional extra hungry day every now and then. Congrats on the 6 lb. loss! :carrot:

Here's what I've experienced, after the initial hunger that passed quickly I also find myself feeling famished when I'm about to start my cycle (which since on IP has been all over the place and happens pretty much once every two weeks). So anyway maybe your TOM is coming and you don't know it, which is a good sign since it means you're burning off fat and the hormones stored in it.
:D:carrot:

AmberLS, now that you mention it, I think I am coming up on my TOM. It sounds like a reasonable explanation. Phew! I won't worry then. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Weighed into today. I gained a freaking pound! I know it's not a big deal in the long run and it probably means TOM is coming or I'm constipated...but it's still frustrating!

I'm so excited. I am now in onederland. What a great feeling. I didn't weigh in last week due to scheduling difficulties. So I went in this morning and I was down 6.2 pounds. I even went to Disneyland for a few days and had a colonoscopy in those 2 weeks.

It sounds like you found the right coach! How exciting to motivate others to become successful on IP too. I remember mentioning 3FC to my coach in the beginning and she was quite negative about it. I have found more information and support here than I ever found with my coach! Good luck on your new clinic/coach and congrats on your success on IP!

Good job!

I am using the final goal of losing the equivalent weight to my 10 year old! What an eye opener when that is equated to all these extra pounds I am or have been carrying around.

CONGRATULATIONS - it is a great feeling, isn't it! Just hang in there so that you NEVER see anything begin with a "2". Wonder if the colonoscopy had a + or a - affect....not something you have to worry about since that is about a once in 10 year sort of thing no one is anxious to repeat.

Today was a tough one. We had a food day at work, where they proceeded to put all of the treats literally 12 inches from me. Every time someone got something the smell drove me insane. This usually doesn't bother me, but for some reason today was tough.

I was on IP for about 2 weeks when one of my co-workers decided we needed a pie day. There were a dozen pies and ice cream in the break room. It was horrible. I just went the long way around to avoid it.

Work can be hard! My coworkers do this potluck once a month, they decided that this coming up one is going to be desserts... sometimes it smells so yummy I just have to leave the building lol.

Hi all: just checking in and seeing how wonderfully you all are doing... don't worry about a pound up, all you gals, or no loss weigh in... it just happens sometimes even 100% on plan. TOM, constipation, stress, lack of sleep, I could go on, but you will notice changes in clothes fit and measurements or maybe meds required. Those are all important things! I always say I don't care if the scale says I weigh 190 lbs if I fit my old size 2 jeans, lol - it's the bodyfat %, measurements, and blood sugar levels etc. that REALLY count.

Had my 'grad' photos taken today at my biweekly maintenance weigh in. I will post & maybe put in my profile when I download off my camera.

Wow, just read through the daily chat and I'm so impressed with everyone's nsv's, losses, etc. what an amazing day! I've been busy at work and haven't been on here as much. I miss it! Hoping this week slows down. It's nice that it ends on Thursday!

I'm chuckling at your "pie day" at work! My family calls Good Friday "Pie Day". It dates back to 12th century Franc, i believe. The tradition in the Catholic Church where you fast on Good Friday. Well, the good folks in my family decided that "fasting" means 1 meal, that lasts all day. And they wonder why I'm on a diet!! All you can bring and eat is pie! Years ago, A local news source wrote on article on my second cousin greg and his mother (my great aunt) we call her tootie. Below is the link if you were interested in starting a fun tradition in your family. It has sure spread through south louisiana!

http://www.theind.com/living-ind/1622

I'm testing recipes this week. Thinking about a "apple" (jicama) pie with vanilla pudding mix and maybe cinnamon with vanilla added in? The crust could be a pancake mix with oatmeal mix. Thoughts? I've done a pie crust before with just pancake mix and it was good. I thought the oatmeal may add a nice touch though. If anyone has tried it, let me know!!

I used Smooth Move Tea. You can find it with the herbal teas in your grocery store. Works very well. Many people upped their lettuce! But that did not work for me. I am not sure, but I think sugar free metamucil has aspartame so you should double check that.

For your two cups of veggies - roast okra with olive oil and IP salt in the oven for about 15 minutes at 425 degrees. Something about okra...it's like magic!

Tried out some pants from my IP coach's pant swap shelf.
OMG, I easily fit in size 10s. :carrot: :carrot: :carrot:

And yes, I know that the size 10s of 2014 have abut the same amount of material as the size 16s did in 1995 but I'll take it.

I have the best coach. She charged up front to join IP and we only pay for the packets each week. She wants us to keep coming back in, even on P4 so we don't yo yo. No additional charge.
