Good morning gals. Boy it was wonderfully warm here yesterday. I had all the fans going in the living room. I am trying not to start up the AC units until I have to. I found out our new smart meters will not be going until October. I wonder how they read them now though?

Today is commissary day and except for it being windy, it will be beautiful here again, high 70's. We will have no rain to deal with for once.

I got my earring yesterday and they were all cute. I do have to figure out what to do for the bead scarf though as the head pins aren't long enough to put the whole thing on. I will figure something out. I may just get beading wire and to it. I did string my bracelet on the bangle and really like it. I can't make anymore as I have no colors or combinations to make. They are fun to wear though and I get a lot of compliments on them.

Jean: Sounds like you are still kind of chilly weather wise. I always wonder why people think they are better than other people. I mean, no matter whether you are the president, the queen, or a ditch digger, you put your clothes on the same way so to speak. Wonder why his has a burr in his saddle? Your grandchildren sound so sweet. Comes from good parenting that they have a "social" mind. One thing I love about Kelly and Tom is that they instilled charity into Thomas. I think they carry it too far as they are ultra liberals, but giving is a big thing at their house. It is probably from Kelly working at St Judes too.

Well, I am going to sit and knit on my wrap. I am going to be getting some yarn tomorrow so I can make my best friend a pair of footies for her birthday. Last time I saw her she specifically asked me if I could make her a pair to wear in the house. I am making a gray foot with a pink band around the ankle area. They will show less dirt that way, but I am using sock yarn so they are more like footies and less like slippers. You all have a great day today. I bought a pattern for a sweater for our next cruise and am contemplating the yarn. I am going to lengthen it as it is a top down knit, which I have never done before, but supposedly isn't difficult. This would be for a formal night. We are skipping a year and then taking an 11 day cruise. Here is the pattern and the yarn. Hold onto your hat. The gorgeous gold yarn, which is silk and has beads on it is going to cost me $300, but Jack said to go ahead so who am I to disagree! Faye

Good Afternoon! We have rain! Yay! It makes for a gloomy day but we need the moisture badly. We played bells at first service and I did a lot of "Hail Marys" beforehand. It was a long piece and I had made copies of parts of pages because I had to play as soon as the pages turned -- just a little tricky when ringing and then using the mallets without missing a beat. I taped the hunks together and had quite a mess in my notebook which I had to untape afterwards because the music goes into folders in a file. I personally hope she loses this piece! I should do something constructive but have no ambition this afternoon. I think I spent all my energy worrying about the bell performance this morning. I just noticed the temperature has dropped; it was 46 on our way home this morning and now it's 32. :brr: Snow? I hope not!

"Gma" -- I need to do a major cleaning job on my ceiling fans before I can turn them on! :o The way it feels today it will be awhile. I'd like to see the bead scarf when you get it done. Have fun! There was just a quote on FB (Einstein?) about treating people with respect whether they are the president or the janitor of the company. The custodians were so good about helping me as I called them by name, said please and thank you, etc. to me that is just good manners. What does top down knit mean? The pattern is very pretty and the yarn is gorgeous!

Guess I will read the papers. Hope you all enjoy the rest of your day!

Good morning gals. It is cooler and rainy today and supposed to frost overnight and get down into the 30's overnight so back to more blankets and socks to keep my feet warm I guess. I should only last a couple days though so guess I can put up with it. :^:

I am heading upstairs to clean the upstairs and put away clothes from yesterday's laundry do up. Seems like there is always something to do around here. I am hoping warm, not hot, weather over the weekend with no rain from Wednesday on so we can get our jungle of a deck cleaned up. It is an awful mess, but every time we made plans to work on it, we either had inclement weather on the weekend or for days before so that the leaves were soaked and couldn't be blown out. I am dreading it, but it has to be done as it is a total mess back there.

I have about a foot or so of wrap to knit then I can finish it up. I should get the little bit of extra yarn I need for my girlfriend's footies today so I can get those made. Her birthday is next month and I made her a purple hat and scarf, the footies and am giving her a restaurant gift card since their income is so limited now they can't afford to go out to eat. I thought they might enjoy it and if they are careful, might even get two nights out of it.

Jean: Well I am glad you didn't have a total screw up with your playing. When I used to sing at church no matter how well I knew the song, I would panic about being able to see the music and lyrics while up front. I used to copy them to a bigger font just in case. A top down sweater is just that. You cast on and knit from the shoulders down on circular needles so the sweater has no seams at all and in this case you actually knit the little sleeves right onto the piece instead of separately. That should be interesting as I have never done either before and of course directions are backwards for me so I will have to be careful I don't put the sleeve in upside down. :dizzy: I am rethinking the pearl yarn since it is a sweater and all in one piece. You will end up with pearls under the armpits possible, and such and it be uncomfortable. What I may do is buy a hank of the same yarn and color without the embellishments and put the sleeves in with just the regular yarn then go back to knitting the rest of the sweater with the beaded yarn. Have to think about it.

Gals you all have a good start to your week. Faye

However, YIPEKIO I am down a pound after all this gaining I have been doing of late. Good Afternoon! The sun is shining, the wind is blowing, the bird bath froze because Bob unplugged the heater, and it's cold outside! The weatherman blessed us with a couple inches of snow late yesterday afternoon. :( We had more than the "usual" to count this morning and ended up $2.00 long. Never did find it so added it to the offering total and called it good. I just finished the gift shop money and need to head off to the bank and then pick up my meds.

"Gma" -- I had folded one of the blankets down to the foot of the bed Saturday night; it came back up last night! Such crazy weather! The snow is melting again but the corn was frozen to the deck this morning and the squirrels weren't quite sure about that. I'm sure your friend will appreciate and enjoy her birthday gifts.

Maggie -- :congrat: on another pound gone! You have a thoughtful list of questions to think about! I won't complain about the rain. Everyone is so tired of winter weather. It seems like it has been so much more windy which makes it even colder.

I need to head to the bank. Hope you all enjoy a nice rest of the day!

It was cold last night and going to be colder tonight then will start warming back up. At least by Friday to go get my hair done it should be back to being warmer.

Maggie: Terrific! It is so hard to really be straight all the time. :carrot: I go along really great and then bam, I gain a couple lbs. I gain easy and lose quickly. You keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Good morning all. We are....:brr: this morning. I had turned off the furnace and had to turn it on this morning as it was 63 in the condo this morning.

I am coming along on the footies. I should finish the first one and start the second one today then go back to my wrap and finish it up.

Another busy weekend. I have a hair apt for a cut and color on Friday and Jack has his snorkeling lesson on Saturday morning. We also want to get started on cleaning the back deck area and cleaning the grill plates so we can do some outdoor bbqing this summer. We didn't do any last year and I miss it during the summer. I need to buy a couple bottles of ammonia to clean the grill plates. You put the ammonia in a trash bag, the grill plates in, tie it up and leave it in the sun all day and it will loosen the crud.

I bought these 6 scarfs/wraps from Nomorerack for only $16 total. They retailed around $70 so I wasn't sure what I would get as you didn't get to pick colors or anything. They are really lovely. They have fringe, are light and airy and got a beautiful bright red, purple, black, pink and a couple others. I love them and they will be great summer scarves or wraps.

Well, guess I should get my day started. I am not cramping at the moment so should take advantage of that. Have a great middle of the week. Faye

Good Afternoon! It's a cool, windy, cloudy, gloomy day in my neighborhood. I have absolutely no ambition today. I did go buy a shower gift for the gal Bob has been mentoring.

"Gma" -- Hope you are feeling better. The concert last night lasted a whole half hour. It was first graders and then second graders; the first graders had hand/arm gestures to go with their songs but the second graders did not. Zowie did her own in time to the music! I asked her if she had ants in her pants because she couldn't stand still. The songs were all old American favorites and the explanation in the program said they would be familiar to the audience. Bob and I agreed that most of the parents were young enough they wouldn't know the songs unless they had been involved in musicals in high school. Enjoy your new scarves!

I need to vacuum and unload the dishwasher. Guess I will do that and call it good! Hope you all are enjoying a nice day.

Good morning all. It was a little cool overnight, but our temps for the next week are seriously going to climb. I am so ready for steady warm temps.

My sister fell last night and hurt herself. I don't know how much, but will call her later this morning to find out. She talked about not wanting to go into a nursing home so it must have been pretty bad. She absolutely does not take care of herself and she has pre emphysema, is back to smoking again, has diabetes and doesn't watch what she eats and neuropathy from the diabetes, which my suspicion is she fell because her feet were numb. Her son lives with her and I am sure is rubbing his hands together thinking about getting the house if his mom goes to a nursing home because she wouldn't sell it and turn him out. He is almost 50, can't or won't keep a job, a druggy and a drunk off and on. She has alienated her other kids because she won't toss his behind out on the street where it belongs. I love him, but it is time he grew up and changed his life. He has had some tough things go on, but all of us have and had to put it behind us and move on and it is time he does the same for heaven's sake.

Well I guess we won't be getting the deck done this weekend. We may get the trees done, and the deck cleaned off, but not the leaves. Our dd texted me about Easter lunch so we are going out with them to a place we have never been. It is a brunch and it will be interesting to see what they have as it is pretty expensive. They throw in valet parking, which I thought was a hoot considering the price of $59 a person plus tax and gratuity and drinks. The menu sounds pretty good though so we shall see. Give me cold shrimp and cocktail sauce and you make me happy.

I am still waiting on my dress to be shipped. I contacted them last week and it wasn't done and they have had the return for almost a month. I am going to bug them again next week to see what the holdup is.

I ordered a compression sock for my knee that is infused with copper so I hope it helps with the arthritis. It can't do anything for the damage, but if it helps with the pain it is worth it and it wasn't that expensive. There are cheaper brands, but they don't have my size in it like the Tommiecopper does. I have heard good things about this stuff. They have everything from stuff for hands, elbows, arms, knees, legs, body stuff, etc.

Jean: Sounds like the concert was interesting. I get a kick out of kids performing when they are little. Do you use a vacuum on your wood floors? I am wondering how much trouble the tile floors are going to be when we put them in, but nothing stays clean I guess.

You all have a great day. Faye

Good Morning! The sun is shining, the wind is blowing, and it's still cold outside -- it was 31 when I came downstairs this morning. I've been to get my nails done, stopped by the hospital where the auxiliary is sponsoring a fund raiser jewelry and stuff sale. Everything is $5.00; there are scarves picture frames, etc., besides the jewelry. It's a biggy as employees as well as the general public shop. This afternoon is crafty club and tonight is the Maunday Thursday production at church in which Bob's group sings.

"Gma" -- I hope your sister is ok. It's none of my business, ;) but I would say she is an enabler where her son is concerned. Sad situation! Your brunch had better be super duper. :T Our bill was $90 the other night for 7 adults and 2 children. Bob and Amanda's dad split the bill; it's a pizza buffet along with a varied salad bar, chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans. There are dessert pizzas and an ice cream machine too. It's a fun place and kid friendly. Don't think I've ever heard of a compression sock with copper in it. I hope it works for you.

I need to get busy and clear off the kitchen counter before I do anything else. Hope you all enjoy a terrific Thursday!

I am a happy camper for we picked up the last of the Dutch Ovens we will need ~ it is the 4 qt 10” one. They insert a paper recipe booklet with each oven which is called Camp Dutch Oven Cooking 101 which is chock full of any information a person would need to use one and care for it properly along with some yummy sounding recipes. They have liners for the Dutch Ovens like the ones you can get for a Crock Pot. They sure make clean up a lot easier for sure. I like using them for the saucier type dishes and sometimes water for cleaning them up is not that available when out and about.

Are you aware that you can have those advertisement type phone calls you may receive stopped? The Federal Trade Commission has a service to eliminate that problem called the “National Do Not Call Registry.” You can Google it and stop those pestering calls that eat up you air time.

It is so quiet in here ~ Will is at the Museum and all the animals are outside enjoying the wonderful weather for it is in the 60˚s this day climbing to the 70˚ area. I have plenty to do to occupy my time this day. Dinner is planned for we will have left-over meatloaf. :D

Good morning to you all. I am going to have breakfast in a few minutes then head up and shower and get dressed. I have a hair appointment this morning to cut and color my hair. I tell everyone I don't have dark roots, I have white roots and it is true. I think dark roots would be better. My hair is thin and fine anyway and the white roots make it look like my scalp is showing through.

I really punched my finger this morning doing my blood sugar. It usually only stings a second, but it is sore now. I forget to check the "sticking" level on the thing and it sometimes gets rolled up so I am wondering instead of a 1 if it is on 3 again. That is for people who have toughened fingers and mine definitely are not. It is even a little bruised already so I bet that is what happened. Luckily, I did it on my right hand this morning. I switch fingers each day so they don't become bruised or sore and I am going through my right hand at the moment. I am jazzed as I have been able to lower my insulin again and hopefully sooner or later get off the stuff completely.

Jean: She does totally enable her son and I think she has ruined her family relationship but not facing facts, but then she is in denial about her health or basically doesn't care so it is not surprising the way she handles the whole thing like it is going to go away or something. A pizza buffet would probably give me heartburn for the rest of the night! When we order a pizza, rarely, I get a separate one with very light sauce. The sauce kills me for some reason. We have two buffets types here, Pizza Hut lunch buffet and CiCis, which is very cheap. Well, you can go to Incredible pizza and get buffet too, but it is like Chucky Cheese overrun with kids and noise. The food is pretty good though and they do have a nice salad bar.

Maggie: Glad you have all your equipment coming along. I just bought an ebook that is interesting. It is all about eating healthier, but making the food taste better and having better snacks. She talks at length about the different diets and why there is failure rates and such. I think I paid $10 for the Ipad edition. Makes it handy to carry into the kitchen to cook.

Well, need to get breakfast in me. You all have a nice Friday. Jack has today off. Faye

Good Afternoon! The sun is shining, the wind is blowing, and it's cold -- ssdd. I braved the grocery store for a few things this morning; tomorrow I'm making baked beans and chocolate (buttermilk) cake for Sunday. There was a new little orange cat in the live trap this morning. While I was waiting for it to get lighter so I could let it go, a huge raccoon came up on the deck. So now we are hoping to trap her and the 5th possum. When I opened the trap the cat just sat and looked at me, so I finally upended the whole thing and it came out on it's own.

Maggie -- We've been on the "do not call" list ever since it became available. We still get unknown calls. :hyper: This morning I got a call from a number I didn't recognize. I answered and was going to give my standard "not interested" speech. It was Ian; Jason and Amanda each have a cell phone and disconnected their land line several years ago. The kids have gotten old enough that they want to call their friends, and get calls, so they have "their" own number now. It's not a cell phone so assume it is attached to the wall. Do you ever make Shipwreck? I'd never heard of it but guess it is an original campfire recipe. Bob's mom made it a lot, and the scouts have made it too.

"Gma" -- It would be wonderful if you can get off the insulin! :crossed: You mentioned your finger being sore. My hand looks like I have been in a fight. My vacuum has a hose and when I tried to pull it out, it slipped and I rammed my hand against the upright handle. The swelling has gone down but it is purple from my thumb to the little finger. Where it actually hit is green -- not pretty! Did you change your hair color this time? How long does a color job last?

I have laundry to fold and put away so best get it done. Hope you all enjoy the rest of the day!

Good morning to you all. It is lovely this morning. Jack is showering getting ready to go to his snorkeling lesson. He came downstairs before showering and I was in the kitchen washing my nails with a nail brush. He was in the living room and said, "Uh, Houston we have a problem!" I rushed in thinking the plumbing again and there he stood with one of his bathing suits at least 3 inches too big. I said let go of it and he did and there was this huge gap in the belly. He said he couldn't get the strings to tighten up enough either. I told him to hurry and get a shower and run to the Target, which is about 5 miles away from here and get him a suit, but he got the other one to tie up tight so hopefully it stays up while he is snorkeling! :o

I am finishing up the second footie and then can wash and dry them. I have been told by several people that they don't block their socks so I am just going to wash and dry these and see how they turn out. The yarn is washable and dryable and I think I made these for less than $6 for the pair and have a ton of the pink yarn left and another skein of the gray so may make myself a pair. I will then move on to finishing up my wrap. I have less than a foot to go on it. I want it nice and long so it will stay in place and not fall off all the time.

I have been a Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons fan for decades. I never was able to see Jersey Boys when they came to Memphis or anywhere else for that matter, but I watched the movie trailer this morning and Jack said he would take me to see the movie. Can't wait as I love their music.

Jean: Ooh sounds like that would hurt. I am forever banging, pinching, hitting fingers, toes and such. I am a big klutz. Yesterday I was walking into the salon and tripped over my cane for heaven's sake. I only get my hair colored every 8 weeks and by that time the white has grown out, but I can't afford $165 a month so I put up with the white roots. No, we kept the same color combo. She uses a lighter reddish blond to highlight and a vivid red as my base. I really like it and she does a spectacular cut on my hair. She has started razor cutting my hair and I really like it that way. She is second in command at the hair studio so she really knows her business. I too have our cell phones on a do not call, but you can still have calls get through. Pretty much anyone who has ever gotten your number in anyway can call you. Supposedly telemarketers can't, but we had these dopes from some Disney resort call over and over and I finally lost my temper and told them if they did not take our number out of their system I was turning them over to our Tennessee Attorney General's office and they quit calling. We don't get bothered too much for the most part.

You gals have a nice weekend and holiday. Brunch tomorrow with the kids. I have to sell our car to pay for it but what the heck.....  Faye

Well folks we have made a major decision to not go”full-timing” in our MH just yet for several reasons. We weren’t leaving here because of being “pushed out” for sure for we have many friends round about. Will isn’t exactly ready to retire just yet and I am good with that since he has promised to take some time off where we can go places on occasion. We are still getting things set up in the MH though and will be going “out there” for a few weeks come September. It is a beautiful day today and we had a nice time eating out.

Good Evening! Our day started with rain and early church. The sun came out during church; we have beautiful stained scene windows on the east and west sides of our sanctuary. When the sun shines through them they are exquisite. Came home to change clothes and head to Sioux City for Kolby's birthday. Beth talked him out of corn dogs and he agreed on sloppy joes. We enjoyed all the "picnic" type food and spent the afternoon visiting. The other grandparents were there for a short time. We don't have much in common with them so it's hard to visit beyond the weather. Our friend with the brain tumor, is scheduled for more testing tomorrow and surgery on Thursday.

"Gma" -- I'm anxious to hear about your brunch today. I hope it was really good! :T I know what you mean about being tired of working on your wrap. I am determined to get Will's afghan done asap. It's gotten long enough I keep it in a plastic tote while I work on it. Sonny thinks it is his and tries to sit on it otherwise. Your stylist will get a kick out of snazzy socks!

Maggie -- it will be nice to have the motor home ready when you are able to take off for a few days. If Will isn't ready to retire it's good that you can stay put.

I'm off to read the papers and get ready for Monday. The church office is closed tomorrow so will count on Tuesday. Enjoy your evening!

Good morning to you all. Hope you had a wonderful Easter. The brunch was a huge rip off. For the 5 of us it was nearly $400 and they forced a gratuity on you, which always irks me. We paid separately so it wasn't like it was a bigger party excuse they did it to everyone. We were first seating and the place was totally empty. I think people have learned from the mistake of going there. It was in a small conference room so I knew right then they couldn't possibly have a lot of choices besides the fact the desserts were sitting out in the hallway!! Upscale downtown restaurant or not, the food was bad, small number of choices and ridiculous prices. Lesson learned I guess.

We still have something going on with the dryer. Jack got into the ceiling after we got home yesterday and connected the hose to the outside vent a lot better as Friday when I did laundry we had moisture running down the walls and boy what a mess that was to clean up. We now have streaks on the paint, which isn't too big of a deal as we are going to paint next year anyway, but it doesn't look too keen. Well, after he was done, I started the dryer and it kept overheating and turning off. We just had it cleaned out by Sears a couple months ago and there was no water in the hose which would indicate it being blocked again. So, Jack disconnected the hose from the wall and we ran it from the laundry room through the dining room to the window outside and vented it that way so I could dry the clothes. We now have streaked walls, three holes in the walls from trying to fix the problem and still not working properly. I swear sometimes I wish we had just stayed as renters.

My Tommiecopper knee sleeve should be here today so I am anxious to see if it helps with the knee pain so I can go back to getting some walking exercise. We decided not to rejoin YMCA until after vacation (we were wasting out money paying out fees when Jack got hurt and couldn't use it so we dropped it for now.)

Weigh day this morning and I am even steven.

Jean: I had to  at Kolby wanting corn dogs for his birthday dinner. Sounds just like a kid. I would be ok with corn dogs though. Hope the kids had a fun Easter. We are kind of like that with Tom's parents too. We see each other a few times a year mostly for concerts Thomas is in and do pleasantries, but they are in their late 70's, born and bread southerners and like your situation we don't have anything in common with them. Alicia's dad lives in Mexico so we have never even met him and we rarely see her mom, who I have always felt doesn't like me much. Don't know why as she loves Jack to death.

Maggie: Wow was shocked to hear you decided not to do a permanent thing, but you will continue to enjoy what you are doing. Is Will going to still stay with the church as the pastor?

Well I better get going. I am having trouble using my new bank card so I am going to have to call them this morning and find out why as it says I have authorized it for use so who knows! Faye

Good Morning! We are having a rainy morning. The farmers will be happy as long as we don't get too much, and they can finish planting. Some haven't started as there is still frost in the ground. I'm going o a luncheon in a tea room this noon. It's in a nearby town and I've never been there so am anxious to go. Not sure what time I will get home so may not accomplish much at home today. Card club tonight, and we are eating out first, which I need like another cat! Planning on a soccer game Thursday since that is also Beth's birthday, and I need to shop first. I had planned to power shop before the party yesterday but the mall was closed. I was surprised but glad employees could spend the holiday with their families. Saturday is a funeral in the morning and a bridal shower in the afternoon.

"Gma" -- Your brunch was a sad affair for sure! When we were in Maui, six of us went to a "fancy" pizza restaurant. The waiter was an older man and he told us up front that the gratuity would be added on to the bill. He explained that some didn't realize that and would leave an additional tip because the servers didn't explain. He felt that was being dishonest to the customers so always told his tables when taking their orders. He was an excellent waiter and the pizza was the best ever so we didn't mind. I'm sorry about your dryer and the paint streaks on the walls. Beth just had to get a new one. Her's was glowing red when she opened the door! The salesman told them appliances are only made to last about five years. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on our furnace! :congrat: On the maintain -- better than a gain any day! I don't know if I shared my latest DUMB or not. I went to the Hallmark store, Walgreens, and WM within a couple days of each other. I tried to use my debit card and it wouldn't work, but when I put it through as a credit, it did. I finally called the bank and the gal asked me to give her the numbers on the card. When I started, she interrupted me and said, "that's not our card!" I have a credit card that is the same color as my debit card and somehow got them switched. One I keep in my billfold and the other in my checkbook. :o I felt REALLY stupid!

I need to decide what I'm wearing and get dressed. Hope you all enjoy a nice Monday!

It is a beautiful day in the high 70˚s with just a nice breeze. We have been out and about and having a wonderful time of it, I showed a "maintain" today at weigh in and happy with that.

I ordered something from Chef’s Catalog that is going to be very nice for me to keep my fresh herbs fresh. I got 3 pods (2½” Dia. X 9¾” H) and one larger pod (5” Dia. X 10" H) that keep the herbs 75% longer for they have a water holder that provides moisture from the bottom to the herbs. I figure the larger pod will be good to keep parsley in and the smaller ones for the sage, chives and rosemary type. I was planning on having an inside herb garden going and all the nurseries around here aren’t selling the plants anymore because of the weather and folks can get fresh ones in the market. They can be easily kept in the fridge door in the pods and then be transported to the MH when we take a trip. I much prefer using fresh herbs if I can, rather than the dried kind.

I still plan on having a nice huge yard sale sometime to get rid of things I don’t any longer use or need. :cp:

DONNA FAYE Will is continuing to be the preacher here for as long as we stay. We didn’t tell anyone here that we planned to leave. We did plan on telling them two months prior to our departure time which would have been in late July if we left in September. However we will be just taking a nice trip in September. How nice for Jack to finish up his snorkeling class already.

Good morning gals. Boy we must be going to get rain as everything is stiff and sore this morning. My hands are swollen, which usually only happens when my arthritis acts us and they are really stiff. Maybe some knitting will loosen them up a bit.

I got my knee compression from Tommiecopper and I noticed a difference fairly quickly. It does help with pain from getting up and the biggest thing it does is lets me bend my knee farther back. That will help a lot getting into the car, putting on socks, painting my toenails, things that were difficult because I couldn't bend my knee back very far. I wore it to sleep in part of the night then took it off. It is very lightweight too. I expected it to be more like the things you can buy in the store, but it isn't. I ordered one for Jack last night too for his bad knee. I hope it helps him a lot and this one he can wear to work all day as it doesn't bind or roll and doesn't get hot.

Finally got my bank card straightened out. It wasn't even activated even though I had done so by phone and on the bank website more than once. I used it after I talk to her and it went right through so guess it is ok now.

Finished the footies for my girlfriend. These were fast, easy and fun to knit. They also cost me less than $10 total which is always nice.

Jean: I have handed people my bank or credit card when asked for my drivers license before. You wonder what they used to do when they built appliances that they lasted a long time. We have lived here 13 years and replaced the washer once and the dryer twice. We can't afford for them to rip out the walls and ceiling clear out to the vent to see why this is happening so this may be the solution we have to deal with. We can always just pick it up if we are expecting company or something. I am doing laundry today so we shall see how the dryer acts since we did this. Our furnace is about 6 years old now. We are going to replace the AC probably next year as it is kaputs, but the thing looks like it is original so that would make it 40 years old. My concern is the water heater. I know that Tom replaced it around the time he and Kelly got married and they are coming up on their 15th anniversary I think. Here you can't install it yourself there's a law. You have to have a plumber and electrician do the work so it costs a lot more. I wish we had gas so we could get a tankless water heater but the condo is completely electric. Have fun counting today.

Maggie: I would like to grow some fresh herbs, but we just don't have room for it even in the house. I hope you enjoy your new containers and they work like promised.

Everyone have a good day. I am going to go check on my laundry. Faye

Maggie -- I'm so glad you enjoy cooking and all the kitchen gadgets you have. :D You always find such interesting things. I love to look through kitchen stores but rarely buy anything.

"Gma" -- I hope your stiffness is better as your day goes along. It's good that you get relief with your knee compression thing. I'm sure your friend will enjoy her footie socks -- cute!

Good morning ladies, a lovely day in the 60s. Tree pollen is very high and my allergies are raging.

I know it's been a long time since I posted but the time just gets away from me. My friend who has the brain tumor and who has hospice at home has taken up a lot of time. Her husband had a stroke and has little use of his left side and is in a nursing home. Our quilting bee has been taking turns being with her so she can remain at home since that was her wish. Her daughter has children in school so can't come here from OK until school is out. It's a bad situation. I have a feeling if her dad doesn't improve greatly she'll put them both in the nursing home and sell the house.

Faye, I have arthritis in my hands, too and my yoga for arthritis instructor gave us playdough to exercise our hands. It sure works good and was $1 for a package of 3 at the Dollar Tree.

Jean, always busy. Have you been up to check out the cabin recently?

Maggie, its good you didn't tell anyone you were going to leave. If they had any idea, I know they would be breathing a huge sigh of relief right now.

Have a wonderful day!

Good Afternoon! It is terribly windy as in 40 mph with 50 mph wind gusts. We've had a few sprinkles of rain and the temperature is dropping. This is the craziest weather! Today was my morning to work in the gift shop. I had one sale and put together goody bags for school tours from here and the surrounding small towns. I think it is second or third graders coming and the idea is so they won't be afraid if they ever have to come themselves. Each child gets a spiral bound safety book with a CD (written in English), a healthy snack bookmark, and a pencil. I was supposed to meet my friend for coffee this afternoon but she had to cancel.

Susan -- I'm glad to see you today! :cp: I was worried about you! It' nice of you, and your quilting friends, to stay with your friend in need. My friend is scheduled for surgery tomorrow, and the brain surgeon has told the family she is hoping for no surprises. He's gone through a lot of testing in the last two weeks. We drove up to the lake a couple weeks ago. The ice created a drop off along the beach so the guys will have to do some work on that. We also need to do some trim painting this year. :( Not looking forward to that.

I need to vacuum the fur fuzzies and make a grocery list. Hope you all enjoy the rest of your day.

I have a touch of arthritis in my old knees and take medicine that says I can take a tablet every 9 hours. I only take one a day though. I cracked up laughing when I just read the paper about the med that comes with it and here is what it said: “IMMEDIATELY if you experience agitation, chest pain; confusion; difficult or painful urination; excessive sweating; fainting; fast or irregular heartbeat; fever; hallucination, or peeling skin; seizures; severe dizziness or lightheadedness; severe nausea; vomiting, or diarrhea; severe or persistent headache; slow or shallow breathing; suicidal thoughts or behaviors; tremor; or vision problems. AN ALLERGIC REACTION to this medicine is unlikely.” Unlikely but they give a phone number if any are present. UNLIKELY being the key word. I never experienced any of those symptoms.

Our Jeep is in the shop and they gave us a wonderful car as a loan. They are baffled at what to do about the problem with the Jeep. The check engine light came on and the temperature gauge when way over to the HOT side and they replaced the thermostat yesterday to the tune of a few hundred dollars and the same thing happened again today. Evidently the problem wasn’t the thermostat after all. Something is not right and they need to locate the problem with their resources. Something is probably wrong in the electrical system or the computer somewhere.

DONNA FAYE I do hope your brace works well for you. I have one that is good for me and never use it for my meds work so well and keep me mobile without any pain. Good morning gals. It is cool here this morning but supposed to be over 80 by this afternoon.

I finished my wrap finally. I have started the hat for my stylist for Christmas and it is coming along nicely. The yarn is so pretty and bright. Jack even commented on how much he liked the yarn for her hat. I am going to make her mittens to go with it instead of trying to find out her shoe size. I will get it later and maybe make her socks next year.

The morons who pick up our trash missed us yesterday and I have no clue who they have on contract and doubt they would come back anyway as it is some fly by night outfit because they were cheaper. So we now have to put trash in the garage until next week because we have no room in our trash can.

Jack had to take the day off and go to Firestone this morning. Our right rear tire is leaking air. I told him he should appreciate his wife as I had the receipt for the tires on the shelf on my computer and we purchased road hazard and have lifetime valve replacement so hopefully they will replace the tire. We bought the expensive 70,000 mile touring tires so they would last and still have a good 35,000 left on them. I am sure glad we got the road hazard on them even though they charged us $20 a tire for it. Better than paying $150 a tire to replace it. We shall see how much grief they give Jack.

I paid the bills and started a load of laundry and that is going to be it for today except for regular chores as I have been up since 1 AM and am pooped. I have had female pain again and it kept me awake and I finally gave up and took some Advil and just stayed up.

Susan: It was so good to see you post. I too was worried about you and Jean and I discussed it and I saw you had posted on FB so I emailed her that I knew you were ok. I am so sorry for your fried to be dealing with so much. I will put her in my prayers.

Maggie: I have to get down to 250 lb before I can have my knee fixed. The arthritis is directly from the damage. I am glad your meds take care of you properly. There are tons of side effects to everything you ingest so you just have to weigh the options on everything. I know one thing, even with the female stuff cropping back up again, it isn't bad and a whole lot better than what the hormones did to me.

Jean: Jack asked me this morning if you went to Hawaii this year and I told him yes, but I don't remember which island you guys go to. The military resort is on Oahu so if we ever went we would go to Oahu. I think Jack would like to go back to Pearl Harbor and I probably still have relatives that live in Honolulu.

Well girls, I need to take my blood sugar and get some breakfast. Have a great day!! Faye

Good Morning! We had .53" of rain during the night; grass is finally turning green. It's a chilly 44 degrees and windy. I'm hoping the soccer game tonight gets postponed to a nicer day. Beth turns 36 today; we will take them out for supper if the game gets rained out. Otherwise it will be DQ treats afterwards. I have the auxiliary volunteer luncheon at noon and then will head to Sioux City to do a little shopping.

Maggie -- It's good your arthritis med helps your pain without any of the side effects. It must be strong if you have to wait 9 hours to take more. I hope they can find whatever is wrong with your Jeep. I'm trying to convince Bob there is a different "clunk" in my car but he hasn't had a chance to drive it.

"Gma" -- Your wrap turned out beautiful! The colors are so pretty. This must be car repair week for all of us! Hope your tire is fixed or you have a new one by now. We go to Maui, but did spend a day in Honolulu on our first trip back in '06. It has become so commercialized, crowded, and busy, but still a has beautiful flowers and sites to visit. I kind of knew what to expect because my dad had been there after he remarried. He was an officer and lived in the pink hotel, after Pearl Harbor.

I need to decide what I'm wearing and try to second guess whether or not the air will be on. Any more, I always wear, or take, long sleeves! Hope you all enjoy a terrific Thursday!

Well now that they fixed the Jeep and it wasn’t fixed they say now that it is the fan clutch which is causing the problem. They said maybe it might be the head gasket but we vetoed that because it has too much compression for that to be the case. Sounds to me that they aren’t really sure what it is that is causing the problem. At least they did call the headquarters and were told that it is the fan clutch causing the problem. They should know. Driving the loaner is nice but we haven’t yet gotten used to being so close to the road for our Jeep rides much higher.

It is said it will be in the high 70˚s here in the ♥-Land with a 30% chance of rain. We got some last evening but don’t yet know exactly how much we did get. It sounded like a gulley washer there for awhile it came down so fast and hard.

Today is the day I have planned on cleaning out the fridge are re-arranging things in order and getting the glass shelves wiped nice and clean. I don’t expect to find any surprises lurking on the back of the shelves though. I may even get to the freezers to re-arrange them if necessary. I like to keep the meat separated according to kind but when Will puts things in there sometimes he gets things in the “wrong” place. I am happy that he will take things to the freezer after I have used my packaging system and it is no problem for me to do the re-arranging. I prefer an upright freezer much more than a chest type. This way I can see more or less what I do have in it.

Will will be gone most of this day for he has his work at the Museum then a couple of meetings to go to and one is a dinner meeting so I will be on my own and can get my “stuff” done. :cp: If they get the Jeep fixed he may or may not be able to break away and pick it up until in the morning. That is just the way of it. I am thinking of a nice cup of noodle soup for lunch and a box meal for dinner.

JEAN I hope we had enough rain during the night to green up our grass. There has been a NO watering policy in effect around here and folks couldn't even water their gardens if they foolishly planted one already. It is funny that car sounds don't act up while others drive the vehicle and they don't know what you are talking about. :o The guy at the Jeep place said he drove the Jeep for one half hour before it did what we told him it was doing. Hopefully Bob will hear what you are hearing.

DONNA FAYE Your wrap is lovely and I am sure you will enjoy wearing it. Your "morons" will have double trash to pick up form you next time. This morning our trash cans were across the alley where the wind deposited them. They are empty and if the wind kicks up again they will be back over there. At least the neighbor has a fence or they would have been blown up against his house. Hopefully Jack will have that tire replaced without too much of a hassle.

Good Morning, (I guess). I can't sleep so came downstairs. I woke up and got to thinking about our friend who has the brain tumor. The surgery to remove it wasn't successful because it would affect his motor skills too much. The surgeon took a biopsy so will make a plan for follow-up treatment. On our way to Sioux City the sun came out, the wind died down a lot, and it warmed up. Maddy's team won their game; since it was an early game we took Beth and family out for supper afterwards.

Maggie -- Bob will unload the dishwasher or put hand washed dishes away for me. I usually come up missing "something" because he didn't put it where I keep it. I don't complain but sometimes have to wait until he is home to find whatever I wanted to use. Bob does think my car is making more noise than it used to, but not necessarily a "clunk" type noise. He mentioned taking it back to the garage so I hope he will.

I seriously need to make some meal plans, a grocery list, and head for the store this morning. The dust is getting deep on the furniture and my plants all need to be repotted. None of which sound like any fun to me! Guess I will read for a bit and head back to bed. Hope you all enjoy a fantastic Friday!
