Well I done it, now comes the Maintenance! I lost around 70 pounds in 19 weeks.

I started on October 14, 2013 218.2 lbs and I reached around 145 pounds towards the end of February.

I counted my bites, not calories, and Exercised Leslie Sansone and the weight just fell off.

I am 5 feet 6.5 inches so that puts me just over a BMI of 23

I am contuiting to count bites in Maintenance Mode!

Yay! I feel better Mentally and Physically!

I'm a calorie counter myself, but I just started Leslie Sansone. She's a real butt-kicker! Congrats on your loss!

Congrats!!! That is an impressive amount to lose. What is counting bites? (obviously I can figure out what it means but can you go into more detail?)

Thanks! Counting bites is a way of losing and maintaining weight loss for life. It is the same principle as Calorie Counting, only much easier. I use an app for my iphone that automatically counts my bites, and when I go away from home sometimes I will place it on my lap and it vibrates when I need to take each bite, no calorie counting or special foods involved. I can eat whatever I want.

I read your entire blog last night and decided to give counting bite a try. I literally read it while counting bites on a bowl of chili! I think most people could use some serious retraining when it comes to portion control and with 2 wee ones in he house, I don't want them to see me cleaning my plate at every meal. Thanks so much for the inspiration!

Thanks everyone! I am 9 months into maintenance and inside my Maintenance Range right now!

Maintenance has not always been easy, but I have been able to "maintain" my wieght even though my wieght has flucuated up some, it also comes back down :)

I use stickk.com for Maintenance Contracts and I weigh in and report every Wednesday OR Thursday morning I have to weigh 150 or less! It really helps keep the weight off in general in the long run!

Am I still counting my bites? You bet! For over 1 year I have been counting my bites. Everyday? No, I have my up and down days. I count bites 3-4 days a week and have 3-4 free days a week, similar to alternate day fasting OR The Every Other Day Diet.... Only I do the up days in succession and the down days in succession!

Hi I was reading your blog and I have a question. Right now I'm having my large cup of coffee. When I take my first SIP it's usually small because the coffee is very hot. Then I'll have another sip which is usually larger. My question is is that really considered to bites? It almost doesn't seem fair because the first sip could technically be about 4 calories whereas my larger SIP would be about 10 calories.

Hi 2Feelbetter, as far as large or small sips, it all averages out in the end. I did make an effort at times to keep my bites an average bite size for me.

See my video on Youtube, How big is a bite? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFtytgFop1g&list=UUmJ7yF8k3uTy4wp_EhuP2iQ
