I like chit chat/accountability threads! I'm on board!

I was doing ridiculously well staying on plan for a while there. The last week or so I've been struuuuuggling, and now for two day I've gone over my calories. Yesterday with pizza, today with pizza AND ice cream. I mean, I won't lie, I loved every bite haha. But I also know that I need to get back to work. Mehhhhhh :p

... Can't wait to get started on Tuesday

Radiojane, You can do it and you will :high: I've weighed daily for so many years, it's habit. Even when I fall off the wagon and don't post it here. I have a chart some where that I keep it :) I say make the chart and fill it in when you want. I've also found that keeping a weigh in chart and then using a food log helps to compare when I've had good times. So if I really mess up I can go back to what worked well.

Angie, Kukkie and ushotmedown ... let's do this :high: one day to go :)

Easily Amused hope you do join us :)

Belinda, Terra and xRiotGirl good to see you again :)

Rennie: Thanks for the welcome. I've decided on an exercise goal of 50 miles for April. Does anyone feel that the weight goal that the doctor wants you at is unrealistic? My doctor wants me at 135 max and to me, that just feels so skinny. I'll be happy to hit 175 (69 lbs from where I'm at now) and then, see how I feel about my weight.

Summer, I'll try that exercise goal with you 50 miles (brisk walking) :) My ideal weight is supposed to be 118-132 I think. I know for sure I'd look sick at 118 but I want to see what I'd look like at this age and 135-140. My ultimate goal is 132 so we shall see. 150 was my original goal but I would still be in the overweight category and I don't want to be.

Donna good to see you :)

Rennie: Mine will be a combo of the treadmill and stationary bike. I went this afternoon for a while and managed to get 3.6 miles on the bike and 0.74 miles on the treadmill. Hopefully, I can keep that part up. I'm also tempted to do the C25K program and see if that helps as well.

Happy 1st Day of April Everyone

BuffieLynn :welcome: to the thread :)

Summer, You are starting the month off great way to go! :high: I have started C25K so many times it's crazy :) You go Girl :)

I am starting the month off with a .6 up to 163.2. I seem to start each month off with a higher number than I ended the previous month with most of the time. But it's still lower than last months start weight so I should be happy. I also got 8 hours of sleep for the first time in about a month and still woke up tired. This body is just crazy. :)

Well I hope you all have great weigh ins today and I look forward to chatting with each of you :)

I'm down a crazy 4.2 lbs this morning -- holy cow! I think this is a combination of things; last week I was out of town and ate and drank all kinds of bad stuff, so I'm likely shedding some sodium/water weight, plus I just started a new plan, plus TOM just ended. Still, I'm pretty happy about it!

Hey everyone!

I meant to come online earlier to post and just never got around to it. Today was Peanut's first day at daycare, they said he had an excellent first day. I'm so proud of my baby! Got to work and it just turned into an insanely busy day.

The good news is that when I did weigh in this morning before my madness, I started the month at 195.3. Yay.

Hi everyone! I'm new to this thread. Never done an accountability thread before but I'd like to stay accountable this month...as I ALMOST lost my way after a recent 4 day binge. I got back on track though which I'm glad about. I figure joining this thread and posting what I eat daily will help me to stick around lol.

I had a fabulous day! I did 2.55 miles on the treadmill and 2.40 of those miles were a straight jog without stopping! That's a first for me. I also did some heavy lifting this evening. The scale will probably be evil to me because of it lol.

Day 2

Weight: 212.50

Food: Raw Foods Day
Breakfast - strawberry banana smoothie
Lunch - Veggie Salad w/ lemon herb dressing
Dinner - zucchini "pasta" with marinara sauce

Exercise: Treadmill - 2.55 miles; Pilates Abs; Chalean Extreme Burn Circuit 1

Water: 2.75 liters

Olivia :welcome: to the thread :) Good for you on getting back on track :high: and what a great NSV on the treadmill :high: I have a question since I am really wanting to jog/run, do C25K. How do you breathe through the running? I think I breathe wrong, that's why I get so winded so fast. And on the scale, you know that if it's up it's just your muscles retaining water so blow it off and keep on going, the water weight will be gone soon. :)

I walked three times today. Im gonna get weighed when I go see my doctor on the 15th, I hope I've loss more weight, I hope Im in the 280's by then.

Olivia7906
04-01-2014, 09:22 PM
Thank you so much love2b150! When I'm jogging, I'm actually breathing in through my nose and out through my nose. When it gets towards the end and I feel myself getting tired, I take quick deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth. I'll do that periodically throughout the jog too but for the most part, it's the nose. When I first started though, I got winded very easily too and was gasping through the mouth. I think as your endurance increases, so will your oxygen capacity.

I started C25K again this week. I realized that I had been taking them too literally with the word "couch." Haha! This time I did seven weeks of elliptical (5x/wk) keeping my heart rate high. Now, starting C25K it's not a struggle to breathe anymore and I can focus on the changes happening as my muscles adjust. Much improved!

KarinRose (I'm from the DC area) :) :welcome: to the thread :) Good job on your weight loss so far :high: I'm gonna put C25K back on my phone today. I tried the elliptical ... oh my, I think it's hard. Those people at the gym make it look so easy, they're going so fast. I just think WOW :)

BuffieLynn good job on the 1lb down :high:

Kukkie yay on the closets. Did you have to buy the fixtures or did they give/bring them back? Glad you are getting them up. And yay on hubby going back to work. Last time we talked he was still waiting on the dr to give the ok I believe. Things are coming together for you all, that's great

Radiojane, lack of sleep gets me every time, it will go away when you are back to routine :)

Olivia, I did a little jogging at the end remembering to breathe through my nose. It wasn't too bad, thanks :)

I downloaded C25K but didn't use it just stayed on an incline increasing speed, feeling good :)

Kukkie84
04-02-2014, 04:35 PM
Rennie - we had to buy them ourselves. The folks we bought from are going through a separation, the place was in the guy's name and the fixtures were taken by the woman, assumingly to hurt him. I don't know. Anyway, they're not cooperating with each, so there's little hope of them cooperating with us. It's been a week in the new place, so we just decided we needed to go ahead with it and see what happens. Can't keep living in chaos, especially with a 14 month old. Smh.

Olivia7906

love2b150 - glad to hear your jogging went well!

Today was a good day. It was a rest day from exercise but I ate more food today than yesterday lol. Be nice to me scale lol. I like to eat more food the day before I do my long treadmill workout. My workouts are usually 35 minutes but 1 day a week I do 65 minutes. Tomorrow is the day. I've been trying new recipes this week and it's been nice! Today is also my "bread/starch/dairy" day. I try to only eat those 2 days out of the week (Wednesdays & Saturdays). Limiting those categories really helps my weight loss.

Day 3

Weight: 211.00 (-1.50)

Food: Vegetarian Day (lacto-ovo)
Breakfast - oatmeal with dried cranberries, pecans & maple syrup
Lunch - four cheese spinach & tomato quesadilla w/ sour cream & avocado; steamed green beans
Dinner - stuffed peppers with garlic bread

Exercise: Rest Day

Water: 2.00 liters

Kukkie people and their crazy issues, smh, that is pure silly. But glad you got them :)

Thanks Olivia :), you're brave I would definitely be afraid to eat bread on a no exercise day. But you've got a plan and it's working so that's great and what matters :high:

Olivia7906
04-02-2014, 06:50 PM
Yes, there are definitely some scale fluctuations because of it but they are short lived lol. The carbs really do help to fuel my workouts and I feel the difference in energy. For some reason, it doesn't work as well if I try to do the long workout on the same day as eating more food. I don't have the same energy levels as eating more food the day before. I do the treadmill in the morning. It's like my body needs time to feed the food to the muscles lol.

April 3- Yesterday was a victory for me. I wanted candy so badly but I just sang in my head "first I was afraid... I was petrified....... I will survive..." LOL Sounds dumb but I'm done with that lover!
April 4- Yesterday was good. I got super snacky in the middle of the day but I persevered. Had some almonds and a cucumber ;) Today will be much much harder. I have the state Midwifery meeting to attend and tonight there will be alcohol and cake and potluck for miles. blah. Having to drive home late tonight will help me not drink but the cake? That will be almost irresistible. Tomorrow will be tough as well. I'm the guest speaker at Cabelas and the conference room is RIGHT BY THAT STUPID ROASTED PECAN MACHINE. :( Those things are not healthy at all. I'll bring a snack. I may allow myself a diet coke just to help me through that hard patch.
April 5- I resisted all temptation yesterday. Ate nothing I shouldn't have. I survived! Today I have to survive Cabelas roasted nuts. LOL I can do it!
April 6- I have a class to teach today. I should be moving all day. I'll be starving when I get home. I needed a better plan! LOL I can do it!
April 8- Didn't eat enough during the day yesterday. Ended up eating a double handful of almonds last night. Too much salt. Have to get back on the wagon today.
April 9- Ugh... up another pound and a half today. I have to up my efforts today I guess. I don't know what's happening.

Olivia - welcome to the group! How do you make the zucchini pasta? Someone mentioned it to me a while ago, and I really want to try it. Did you like it or is it one of those things you kind of eat because it's good for you?

Kukkie - I used a vegetable peeler to thinly slice the zucchini like fettuccine. Then I made a marinara sauce in my Vita Mix that consisted of fresh tomatoes, sun dried tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil, fresh garlic, basil, oregano, black pepper, sea salt, red peppers, and cayenne pepper. I blended it and mixed it with the zucchini shreds and it was very delicious! I was pleasantly surprised with all the food I ate on my Raw Foods Day. I was expecting things to be bland but they really weren't! They were flavorful and good! I would definitely make that again! I have a whole book to try recipes from though so I'll probably do something different next Tuesday.

Olivia Thanks! I may finally get around to trying it. Sounds really really good :)

Me, well, I forgot to weigh in again this morning. Hopefully the hubby will finish putting up shelves and closets today and then we can finally get settled. It's never taken me so long to get unpacked in a new place. I'm actually kind of annoyed right now. It will come, it has to, right?

Olivia I need to come stay with you, cooking like that :)

love2b150 - I am in the kitchen EVERY SINGLE DAY lol. It's not that I LOVE it so much (cooking), it's just that I really do feel like food tastes better and fresher when I make it myself lol. And I have two young kids and if I don't cook they'll be eating processed/frozen/fast foods and I just do not feel good about feeding them food like that all the time. I've been steering myself way from all things processed and my refrigerator stays full of fresh ingredients. I don't even buy bottled condiments. I make them myself and store them in mason jars. I am really good at cooking though and I've been exploring much more in the kitchen. My kids don't even like to eat out anymore. They want food from "Mom's Cafe" (that's what I call it lol). I get them involved sometimes too and they love it. My 6 and 7 year olds are making dessert this weekend. Apple Crisp! lol

Hope everyone is doing well! :)

Down .8 this morning -- yay!

Olivia -- Thank you! I just started IP on Monday; I think this is a lot of water weight leaving me, I wish I could have these losses all the time, but I am sure it will normalize to 2-3lbs per week (still great) soon. What plan are you following? Congratulations on your 1.5! I ate zucchini ribbons aka zucchini pasta tonight for dinner :)

Rennie -- Thanks! Ketosis seems to be doing it's trick for me. It is motivating to see big results so quickly. I have a wedding to go to in May and I bought a dress a size too small, looks like it should fit by the end of May. Congrats on going to the gym and losing .2!

Radiojane -- 3 kids under 5 for a sleepover? You are one brave woman!

Kukkie -- I'm doing Ideal Protein -- very much like Dr. Poon, but even more limited in the food if that's possible! I'm willing to do it though, for the results it's giving me, I need to see some losses to stay motivated.

Bunny -- Nice losses and congratulations on your NSV!

BuffieLynn -- I think any of us would take 1lb per day, nice results!

I tried the marinara sauce on the zucchini last night. Divine. I have tried "zoodles" before but the instructions I had said to cook them. They were "ok" but not anything I would rush to do again. But when you thinly slice a very young zucchini (less seeds and the ones that are there are very tiny) and just use them as is? Delicious. I had it on the side of some grassfed organic pork loin with a half of a small sweet potato.
I'm not hard core on grassfed /organic/ happy cows meat but I'm doing the Daily Burn's Ignite 21 kick off and that's what it calls for. So be it. OH... I also made molten Lava Chocolate cakes for everyone. I'd provide a link if my post count where high enough! :D very delicious!!

Hi Angie! Did you enjoy those zucchini ribbons? I found them quite nice! :D

As far as the plan I'm following, I follow the beat of my own drum lol. I devised my own diet plan to make things a bit more spicy and fun. I have themed each day of the week. Monday = Juicing Day. I juice fresh fruits and vegetables 3 times per day. Tuesday = Raw Foods Day. I eat 3 raw meals. Wednesdays = Vegetarian Day (lacto-ovo). 3 meals this day too. Thursdays = Protein Day. I only eat meat, fats, fruits and vegetables. I eat two meals this day. Fridays = Protein Day. Same as thursday (meat, fats, fruits and vegetables). Also two meals. Saturday = Anything day. I eat whatever the heck I want (with the exception of processed junk food) lol...BUT....I only eat one meal this day. Sundays = some kind of fasting day. I limit my bread/dairy/starches to Wednesdays and Saturdays only. I do cardio five times per week and heavy lifting 3 times per week. I just started this new funky plan on Monday and have dropped 4.50 lbs since starting! :D

Up .2 today, so I guess I'm normalizing now!

Olivia -- Your plan sounds like fun...I like the variety you've built in. The ribbons were great, I saute them with garlic, but I'm going to have to try them raw next time.

Radiojane -- Before I had a kid of my own I would always volunteer to watch my two nephews and 24 hours with them would knock me on my butt for days! lol -- now that I have my own, he's broken me in, and I'm just used to catering to another person's needs 24/7. I'm sure they are loads of fun!

Olivia is raw zucchini sweet or does it have that twang to it like yellow squash? That's a great thing you're doing for your family. :) I used to cook a lot but not anymore. I do cook just not very often. My oldest son is the experimenting one he loves to cook. I told him he'll make some woman happy some day. The middle boy cooks also but likes the easiest of recipes. What a great day you had yesterday, I'm happy for you :) Olivia good job on your pound a day also whether you are still doing it or not it's still a victory :) Excellent drop for a week. :high: I may have to see if I can follow your plan minus the juicing part, I don't know that I could do that and I can't do regular starches. :( I seem to lose control very quickly :)

BuffieLynn one pound per day is great :) keep up the good work :high:

Thanks Angie :), :yay: on the .8 yesterday :high: you're doing beautifully :) I'm so happy for you  I hope I get to see the dress and not on a mannequin :) ... .2 is a little water so keep smiling. You can't be normalizing this quickly. Can you?

Bunny we've got another cook in the house (on the thread :D). Wow, go introduce/welcome a few on the intro threads and that will get your post up :) You also need 20 days to the exact minute :) Share it with us later ... don't forget now ;) Is it low carb?

WahineByTheSea, vending machines are my enemy also. I try not to have cash when I go out and they charge a surcharge on each item when you use a card because you have to get them individually, smh. At least roasted pecans are a good fat, right? :)

Kukkie :yay: for you :high: Now change that ticker Lady

Easily Amused, I update my original post also just makes it simple when I move it to the thread I kind of blog on :D. But ROCK ON 5.2lbs for the week. You and Angie are rolling this month :high: I know you feel great :congrat: on 65LBS GONE :carrot:

Well bad me did horribly yesterday, I was over in calories by 1193 and carbs by 244. MFP surely puts things into perspective for ya ;). I didn't do any exercise either. Just spent the better part of the day with my thin wanting to stop every where to eat daughter yesterday :) We had a good time but goodness I couldn't do that everyday. I drank a nice warm glass of prune juice before bed because my stomach was a mess. Thank goodness it does help me :) Weigh in today was 163.8 up .4 from yesterday which would have been way worse if not for that fiber :D

ETA: I did make it to the gym today burned 504 calories so feeling good. My oldest doesn't have football practice today so he wants to go to the gym the evening. What is you alls take on working out (which for me is more walking) twice in one day? I do brisk up hill walking. I haven't done it in 4 years and before it was counter active use to give me an up on the scale most times.

Down 1 more lb today! Rennie, thank you for being such an encourager for everyone! Actually, everyone is so awesome!

My planning has been much better and I am trying to not eat my snack too late at night. Worked to ensure I am getting enough water. We are in the midst of packing and planning a move to our new farm. So just a tad bit of stress, thus far I have not eaten out of stress( my biggest issue)! Although, it has been close at times...:o

Have a great evening!!

love2b150 - I exercise twice a day on tuesdays, thursdays and saturdays. I do cardio in the mornings and heavy lifting in the evenings on those days. I say go for it! I love doing it this way.

Day 5

Weight: 210.00 (-1.00)

Food: Protein Day
Meal 1: maple sausage; bacon; fried eggs; pear
Meal 2: curried honey mustard chicken thighs; sauteed vegetable & herb medley

Exercise: Taebo Get Ripped Extreme

Water: 2.00 liters

Today was a good day. I spent some time preparing my meal plans and grocery lists for the next two weeks to get it out of the way. My kids are off now for spring break so looking forward to sleeping in all week! :D

Have a great weekend all!

Thanks Olivia :) Good job on the pound down :high:You know I have yet to lift anything and I truly need to tone :) My SIL was showing me how to use some of the machines to get these thighs in order. I also need to work on my stomach area. My back fat is slowly going away and my wings aren't that bad :) my son lifts weights. I need to work with him. I here you on sleeping in, enjoy. Our kids don't go on break until the week of my birthday and that's only three of them. I still have to get up with one because he goes to a early college high school and he will still be in school. With some luck I'll lay down and stay down :)

I RESISTED CHOCOLATE CAKE, PUMPKIN PIE, BROWNIES, CREAM CHEESE DANISH, CHIPS AND CHEESE TONIGHT!!!!!
I only ate a salad of Kale, some black beans and a little bit of homemade Guac. HECK YES I DID!!! I did have 2 diet sodas today tho. They make me swell. I wouldn't be surprised, even with how well I did today that my weigh in will be up tomorrow. I don't even care. To go to a social event that's potluck and NOT EAT LIKE CRAZY??? that's a definite NSV! Did I want to? Heck yes. SO SO bad.

Buffy, evenings and snacks are my weakness too!

Rennie, glad to see you are doing well in the 160's! :) I have missed you!

love2b150 - when I started lifting weights, my body shape definitely started changing! I noticed my waist going in. You should definitely try it out to see how it works for you :)

Bunny - that is so AWESOME!! Great job on resisting all that temptation! It's one thing to not want to eat it, but it definitely takes strength when you want to eat some of those things but make the conscious choice not to. That is HUGE!! :D

Thanks :) akelly  I'm happy to see you. I miss you also. I KNOW you're busy but you've got to stop in and at least say  more often

Olivia I will let you know when I start, thanks :)

well thanks to enough sleep I'm down .6 to 163.2 again ;). I bought a bag of those Takis/and a 1oz bag of hot chips last night and that was a :nono: for sure. I love the spiciness but it's not great late in the evening (sodium). Had I not eaten those I probably would have been back to 162. Oh well, today's a new day. Another chance to try to do right :)

Rennie, I know - this place does wonders for my weight and drives me to hold myself accountable. I bounced up to 244 (granted I'm hoping 1-2 pounds is sodium and water weight with all the bad choices). I've said it a couple times but I finally feel like I'm in the same mindset that I was in January. Time to do work!

Hot chips.........oooooooh........my weakness for sure. I just LOOOOVE hot chips lol. I could eat 3 bags a day....and I'm not talking 1 oz bags lol. I've had to cut them out completely to avoid going crazy because they are truly my addiction food lol. You did good to only eat 1oz! lol

Thanks Olivia, I think the only reason why I stop is because I start to sweat :) my son and I both had to stop eating them, LOL.

Morning all -- up .2 again today, but I've been on plan -- I missed some water and vitamins I think, but other than that, food is good. I take calcium, potassium, a multi-vitamin and omega 3 to replace anything I'm missing.

Rennie -- I'm tempted to try the dress on now, but I'll wait a bit. Maybe when I've lost 12-15 lbs I'll see how it's fitting. I'm all for exercise, as many times a day as you like -- it's only going to make your body better...I don't think it's the key to weightloss though, I think it's a great accompaniment.

Angie, I wonder why the small ups? I don't know anything about IP but I would think that it would be small downs ... hopefully a great whoosh is coming soon. I say try on the dress and you will know for sure what you want to work on, it'll give you incentive :) Remember Kris (MamaP) and that red dress she wore to her sons wedding. She rocked that dress. :) Everytime I say something ROCKS I wish Coondocks was here also, that was her word :) Thanks on the exercise. I am gonna give it a shot. I think I still have your email, I have to run out but I'll take a picture to show you what I need to work on. I showed Chelle last night and she said it didn't look bad (I guess she is comparing it to before) but I don't like it, it sometimes saddens me. I need to buy a goal outfit or at least something in the next size down to look at as an incentive. I'm already a bit bummed because I don't think I'll loose these last few pounds to get to my birthday day goal :( I know it's my fault though. I hate the new confidence I seem to get with each new low I see on the scale. I think it's a sickness that I have if that makes sense. How can I get excited about a new number when I have so far to go :dizzy: thanks for listening once again. But do try the dress on :)

I came.... I spoke.... I left. No candy coated pecans from Cabelas were consumed and I had a salad with a slice of grilled chicken for lunch. Best part? All the water weight I've lost this first week? I wasn't miserable in my clothes. They're still my clothes which are not ideal but I wasn't in pain by the time I came home and didn't want to strip and wear PJs immediately. LOL
I'm pretty energetic today too! It's nice not being sick to my stomach all the time!

Day 6

Weight: 208.75 (-1.25)

Food: Anything Day
Meal: fried BBQ chicken wings, bacon cheese fries with green onions & ranch dressing, broccoli, garlic bread, apple crisp, vanilla ice cream

Exercise: Treadmill - 2.29 miles; Weights & Plates Abs; Chalean Extreme Burn Circuit 3

Water: 3.00 liters

What a fun day in the kitchen! I had a 2 hour eating window today. One meal. The damage was done in 45 minutes lol. 4 hours later, I'm still full LOL! :D

TOM arrived today and my energy levels drop significantly on the first day. I could only jog 15 minutes when I normally jog 30 minutes. I walked the rest of the way but I'm glad I still went. Heavy lifting was a challenge too but I just reduced my reps and I was sweating bullets. I saved the heavy lifting for 2 hours after my 45 minute feast lol. Now I'm ready for a remote controller, a pillow and a blanket :D

S ~ ¼ of a pack of cheese/pb cracker so one cracker (I forgot my almond butter/polaner s/f grape on a slice of s/f nature's own)
D ~ little pieces of orange chicken b4 the sauce was put on it, egg roll no duck sauce and a grapefruit

and about 12+ cups of water , I made it to the gym but only burned 260 calories

I had a decent food day and a decent day in general. I may have again... had a bit too much sodium so we'll see how that fairs in the a.m.
This diet plan I'm following has been super easy and has really been a fantastic jump start! I'm loosely following the Daily Burn's Ignite program.

Happy Monday friends!

I am up a pound but I'm confident its water being retained in my aching muscles. I pulled weeds for 5 hours on Saturday and I cannot move. I had to walk through the airport this morning verrrrry slowly. People were walking past me giving me the evil eye! Oh well! I ate on plan yesterday so I know the pound up HAS to be from these aching muscles and swelling in my legs.

Rennie, congrats on the new low girl!!! Killing it. I know you wanted more today but just have faith. Gosh, you are soooo close to the 150's, that's got to be an amazing feeling!

Summer, way to go!

lotsakids, LOL I like the fact you get to peek at your future numbers. However, I guess that could be frustrating just as badly. Good luck :)

Radiojane, you can def get there by Easter :) I believe in you!

Thanks akelly :), walking through ATL airport is a killer. You burned any water weight that you had for sure. They say it's not how fast you walk it the fact that your body is moving. Good for you :)

texaschick :welcome: to the thread and :congrat: on your weight loss so far :) You're doing great. What plan are you following?

I have had a horrible day eating wise today. It's been stuff your face with anything and I am sure I will pay for it tomorrow :( I want to start the Johnson Up Down Down Day Diet (JUDDD) and I am researching how to do it with menus hopefully. A fellow 3FCer is doing it and has had great successes so I am hoping to learn from her and stick to it.

Today was the hardest day yet. I had to take a clinicals class and we all brought potluck. There was NOTHING I could eat and not cheat. I had zipped out of the house in a hurry without breakfast this morning and didn't have anything except the grapes and strawberries I had brought to share until 5pm. I did not break over tho. I stuck to the plan. No dairy, No sugar, No starch, No artificial sweeteners, no gluten, no soy, no alcohol. I hope it pays off tomorrow on the scale but I'm expecting the weight loss to slow down any day now. I will not be disheartened when it does. I have to prep myself for this!

Olivia7906
04-07-2014, 11:10 PM
akelly - I'm sure it's water weight too. When I started heavy lifting, the scale went up about 4 pounds! I was lifting HEAVY too. I'm sure it will be gone in no time :)

texaschick - awesome job on your 37 lbs lost!! That is a great acheivement!

love2b150 - I have never heard of JUDDD. I'd be interested to hear about what more you find out through your research and if you decide to start it.

Bunny - I hope you see that payoff on the scale!! You did great on resisting the cheat foods. Shoot, to do that while being hungry is a hard thing! lol

Day 8

Weight: 207.75 (-1.75)

Food: Juicing Day
Meal 1: fresh orange carrot juice (32 oz)
Meal 2: fresh vegetable juice - beets, carrots, celery, cucumber, ginger root, apple (32 oz)
Meal 3: fresh apple juice (16 oz)

Exercise: Treadmill - 2.55 miles

Water: 2.00 liters

I had a great day filled with lots of energy. My workout went so well. After 32 minutes of jogging, and a 3 minute cool down, I wasn't tired. I was shocked at how well my body felt. I did go to the bathroom A LOOOOOT today lol. I drank a lot of liquid today between the juicing and water. I shouldn't have an ounce of water weight on me lol.

Looking forward to tomorrow! :)

Bunny, oh my goodness ... you had many NSV's all in one :) Way to go :carrot: A ton of temptations and you resisted them all. You did well :)

Olivia, on the lowcarbfriends.com site there are several threads about it. I also googled it and found out what my calorie intake is to lose weight and keep the weight loss going. I am waiting for an email from the library to get the book. You are doing very well on the scale, keep up the great work :high:

Well I made it to the gym did 4.14 miles (hey my bday ;)) 65 minutes and burned 514 calories. Don't know what the scale will say since it says 165 now, I will probably not have much of a loss unless I happen to get a whoosh which I have yet to see

Radiojane can you post your meals for a typical M/E day please? Thank you :)

Olivia the only thing I really see when I look in the mirror is my ginormus stomach (my kids use that word, I don't think it's really a word :?:) but that's all I see. Radiojane

Typical M/E day:

3 eggs scrambled in coconut oil
diced chicken dipped in mayo or canned salmon with mayo
grilled steak

Sometimes if my fats are low I'll add a little cheese, but since I have been overdoing it on cheese (after failing at giving it up for lent), I'm staying away from it.

love2b150
04-08-2014, 12:53 PM
Thanks Radiojane, what do the eggs taste like cooked in coconut oil, verses margarine or butter? I'd like to do this also, sounds easy enough for me. I need all the help I can get to get to 159 by Monday :) Thanks for your help :)

ok I added all of this up on MFP to eat tomorrow. I added cheese to my eggs and an egg to the canned salmon and it came to =
1100 calories
5 carbs
126 protein
59 fat
2760 sodium <--- gonna be drowning in water tomorrow :)

Radiojane

Coconut oil has a distinct but not unpleasant flavor. Eggs taste great in it and it's perfect for frying onions. How many meals I eat depends on my hunger level, but usually I'm a just two a day (and I do IF occasionally, meaning I fast from supper one night until the next).

Sometimes when you're just getting into ketosis, your body will scream for food, but it's not real hunger. Eat as much as you want to, and be liberal with the butter, oil etc. Fats will reduce the cravings. Headaches can usually be solved with a cup of beef or chicken broth.

I don't generally have hunger issues, unless I inadvertently skimp on fat.

Today is a real challenge. I'm up 1.5lbs which I'm sure is water weight and doesn't mean anything but whenever that happens I have this bad habit of saying "SCREW IT! I'm eating a candy bar!"
I have wanted to do that 100 times today. I have not. Had a blueberry smoothie for breakfast and a salad and rotisserie chicken for lunch. I have to prove to myself that I can power through a bad scale day.

I completely understand where you are coming from. Coincidentally, just today I was thinking about the choices of food that I've eaten and how they would affect the scale tomorrow, even though the choices were healthy. For example, I ate some kalamatta olives today (about 12) and thought, "crap, I shouldn't have eaten those because they are high in sodium and they will make the scale go up tomorrow." I had to step back and realize how ridiculous I was being. Am I going to go to the rest of my life avoiding olives because it may affect the stupid scale temporarily? That's when I decided that I'm obsessing too much on this journey and this is NOT how I want to carry on. F*** it. The scale will be up some days, down some days. Maybe from heavy lifting, maybe a little bit more sodium, maybe TOM, ovulation, etc. I'm DONE obsessing and pondering over why the scale is jumping around from day to day. I'm done trying to justify it to make myself feel better. It is what it is and it will be what it will be. I am doing the right things for my body, recovering health, feeling better, losing inches, and in the long run that is all that matters. Whew...got that out! (Bunny, I'm yelling at myself, not you lol) :D

Day 9

Weight: 206.50 (-1.25)

Food: Raw Foods Day
Meal 1: orange pineapple banana strawberry smoothie (16 oz)
Meal 2: garden salad (romaine lettuce, carrots, cucumber, avocado, olives, tomatoes, green onions) with sweet mustard dressing (2.5 qt bowl)
Meal 3: walnut pate (1/2 cup); marinated vegetables (broccoli, carrots, cremini mushrooms (3 cups)

Exercise: Treadmill - 2.44 miles; Stability Ball Abs; Chalean Extreme Burn Circuit 1 (Round 2 of 4)

Water: 2.50 liters

I.....am......so.....sore lol. My quadriceps are screaming at me right now...."REEEST....I NEEED REEESST" lol. Tomorrow is my rest day thankfully. I had a good eating day. LOADS of fresh vegetables. I was in salad heaven with meal 2 and by the time meal 3 came I just could not finish it all. I saved about 1.5 cups of the marinated vegetables so I can have them with breakfast tomorrow. A good day. As my previous post explained, I've got a new outlook on this weight loss journey and the obsession stops today. I have more important things to focus on than 0.25 lbs of water weight lol.

So far I have been guessing how many calories/ carbs I am getting per day.

How can I figure out how many calories and carbs are in foods like:

1/2 cup raw broccoli
1/2 cup raw cauliflower
2 cups romaine lettuce
2 cups spring mix lettuce
1/2 cup cucumber
1 stick of raw celery
2 stalks of raw kale

I weigh the meat I eat, so I can figure out the protein.

I think I am getting 1200, maybe 1500 calories a day, but I would like to get a better idea.

love2b150 - fruit is a good choice! I have noticed in my own personal experience that when I want to rid myself of water weight or to end a plateau, I do a fruit diet for 1-2 days and it REALLY does the trick. I have found no better method to rid my body of water weight. I stick to high water content fruit (like watermelon, canteloupe, apples, oranges, lemons, etc.). You will know it's working because you'll be peeing like crazy lol. If I have any water weight on my body from the weekend, my juicing day on Monday knocks it right out lol.

aw, Rennie, that's too bad. Get up tomorrow and start again I guess.

I've been good today. I even pulled out my food scale at lunch to remind myself of what I should be eating portion wise. I'm also starting 2tsp of potato starch today to feed my gut flora, so I'm a little gassy, and that might effect the scale, but I've read such great things about it that I want to give it a try.

love2b150
04-09-2014, 05:56 PM
Radiojane, glad you've been good :yay: What do you do with the potato starch? How do you eat it? I had to look up gut flora. I had never heard of that before. Everything makes me gassy unfortunately. It seems the more weight I lose the worse it gets. I know I'll be at 165 tomorrow for sure since I was so close to 163 this morning :(

Radiojane
04-09-2014, 06:14 PM
I mix it in a glass of water. (I find it easier to just use the potato starch, but you can get the resistant starch from cooked and cooled rice, cooked and cooled potatoes, green bananas and various other sources. Basically it stays undigested all the way down to the colon where it does good things.

I figured since I eat so low carb it was worth trying.

love2b150 - I'm sorry things didn't go as you planned today, but you can turn it around. It's just one day out of many many more to come. If you are up on the scale tomorrow, so what...it's just ONE day. You have plenty more days to make that scale go down. You CAN do this. Shrug it off and keep on stepping tomorrow. This is what this journey is all about....not perfection, but learning and moving forward. You got this!

Day 10

Weight: 205.75 (-0.75)

Food: Vegetarian Day (lacto-ovo)
Meal 1: over easy egg on english muffin with cheese & maple syrup; sauteed spinach; cantaloupe; watermelon; strawberry
Meal 2: homemade granola cereal with milk; pineapples
Meal 3: eggplant parmesan; garlic bread; marinated vegetables

Exercise: Rest Day

Water: 2.00 liters

My back has been aching from various pulled muscles. I have a weak back (my 38DDD's have a lot to do with that) and I seem to have at least 4 pulled muscles in various locations. I'm probably going to lie down on a heating pad for the rest of the evening. I'm supposed to have a long exercise day tomorrow. I hope I'm up for it. I'll get through what I can. Food was good today as always. My dad had never eaten eggplant before so when he saw me pull it out the oven he was curious to try it. Radiojane, I'd have to buy the starch, no discipline with potatoes and I use a rice cooker or the rice, well the boys do. I haven't had rice or pasta other than Shirataki pasta since January first. I wish I could do the same permanently with bread and fries. I went two months without bread I think. But my sons are always making fries and I usually eat about 8-10 with ketchup then I'm done. I count that as a victory. Let me know how or what the potato starch does for you from what you can tell when it gets to the end ;)

Rennie if you can limit yourself to 10 french fries, you are way ahead of the game! I'll let you know about the starch, all it's done so far is make me burp, but I have a sneaking suspicion it kicked that water weight off.

Radiojane, Ew sorry about the burping, I hate that and the gas that I have when I eat healthy, smh. :yay: on the water weight coming off, that's a plus :) Yeah the boys make the fries, I count them out and put ketchup on each one :D and I am done. I think it's the only thing I do control that's would be off limits for me. Now if I go to BK, McD's or Wendy's I'm eating them all ... no questions asked. So I try to stay away from those places ;)

Today has been good, I had a shake for breakfast, a grapefruit and an apple before having my own pizza. I have discovered crustless pizza thanks to my 10 year old. I must say it's really good and filling :) 277 calories, 8 carbs and 20 protein. Hi all... I'm here. Haven't really been weighing in or paying attention to food lately. My little Peanut is sick! We had to pick him up early from daycare on Thursday and this infection is kicking his wee little butt. He was finally given antibiotics yesterday, but watching the poor thing is just miserable.

Hey guys! Happy Sunday! Still not getting my routine established where I force myself to check in daily. However, I have weighed in a few more times this week than normal, and I've finallyyyyy started some cardio. My eating plan was much better this week... I have lost 3 pounds since Monday! Looking to lose more this week AND at least do cardio twice during the work (aka travel) week, AND check in here. Those things together will lead me to success like in January.

Rennie, you are the best for holding me accountable! I think to myself every time I feel guilty, man just follow Rennie. She's killing it...she's probably looking for you...just do it. Having you and this 3FC group is so awesome for my results! Thank you :) Happy birthday girl!!!

Kukkie, I hate to hear about peanut :( Spring always brings a new round of illness and so many allergies. Also have heard about the flu a little more lately so hope your peanut doesn't catch that!

Radiojane, I empathize with your frustration! Working hard and seeing the same number regardless is solo tough mentally! Good luck and hang in there, the scale will move eventually (before you chuck it out the window!)

Olivia, the pep talk you intended for Rennie actually resonated with me. Just what I needed to hear today as I'm gearing up to be more accountable and focused. But I tell them the friends I've made on 3FC know what I'm going through and it's just easier to communicate with them. They still say I have no like LOL. Check in when you can. akelly728 - I'm glad to hear the pep talk helped you! No more beating ourselves up! We must treat ourselves with love and care like we'd do any other person in our shoes. The less stress we place on ourselves, the more peace we gain on our journey downward :)

Radiojane - okay you got 6 days until Easter...that's definitely enough time to get all the water weight off and maybe drop an additional pound too. I have noticed that water weight can come off fast when you reduce your breads/starches/dairy temporarily and increase your high-water content fruits and vegetables. For example, making a big juicy salad (no cheese) with loads of fresh veggies and making your own viniagrette with oil and whatever else you like to put in it, and having a nice helping of fruit with it will probably have you running to the bathroom peeing out all that water weight :D

Well yesterday I went to my daughters and we had a cookout it was really nice. All and all this was the best weekend I have had in a very long time. My son in law surprised me with a birthday cake and ice cream and after I ate it my stomach started to churn like you wouldn't believe. I needed to use the bathroom almost immediately and just made it. Rennie - wish I could say it was. 196.6 today. I think it's because I haven't really been eating well while Peanut is sick. We had to take him back to the hospital yesterday and brought him home with stronger antibiotics and very strict instructions on how to keep feeding him liquids, as he's on the verge of dehydration. If we can't get a handle on it asap, the next step would be to hook him up to an IV, and we don't want to do that. So, that's where I am. I found this under an http://news.health.com/2014/04/15/5-ways-to-lose-weight-without-dieting/ and it all makes sense ...

1) Cheer Up
2) Slow Your Pace
3) Nibble on Filing Fruits
4) Text Your Progress (see) below
5) Go To Bed

THIS IS WHY I'M ALWAYS LOOKING FOR A TEXTING BUDDY ... I KNEW THIS BUT EVERYONE I HAVE DONE IT WITH DOESN'T LAST FOR LONG AND IT IS MUCH EASIER TO STAY ACCOUNTABLE IMO ...

***Text your progress
Keeping a food diary is a tried-and-true weight loss technique, as recording every morsel forces you to be more conscious of what you’re putting into your mouth. But it can also be tedious, making it tough for people to stick with it. Replying to a quick daily text message, on the other hand, is much easier. In a study from Duke University, overweight women shed a few pounds by simply reporting (via text) some basic info, such as the number of steps they walked daily and whether or not they consumed fast food.

“Most people have difficulty sticking with detailed monitoring of how much they eat and how much they exercise. Try to keep tracking via text message simple, which is likely why it was effective.” To make this work for you, ask a friend, family member or even your trainer to text you a daily question about your diet or exercise goals. “Having that accountability can be incredibly helpful. ... I TOTALLY AGREE

My boobs now hurt (sorry for the TMI) so it's official, this water weight will be here until after TOM. So at least a week.

Still at 377.6. Three days in a row now.

Happy Good Friday to ALL

I decided to go through the thread from the beginning and see what's been going on. We are missing a lot of you and if you aren't checking in here I hope you are checking in on another thread. The accountability here will keep you motivated and it's a great help :)

Easily Amused, congratulations on getting those steps in :high: What are you using to track them? I downloaded a few apps last night that I want to try. :)

Donna and fadedbluejeans glad to see you are checking in on your weigh in charts :)

Jane, hope you are feeling a little better today

katerina, nice weigh in :) what are you eating to get that much protein? What's your carb intake and which plan are you following? Sorry for all the questions.

Kukkie how's Peanut?

I did a lower calorie/carb day yesterday and got some of that water weight to leave. Gonna try for one more day today with better foods because last night I was hungry. I ended up eating some unsalted premium rounds. I think I would have seen a lower number had I not eaten them. But it's all good :) Down 1.4 to 162.6

Thanks Rennie. I use a FitBit to track the steps. And I use the Map My Walk app as a backup to track my mileage. It has lots of neat stuff, too.

You are doing fantastic! So many of you are dropping it like its hot. I'm so happy for you all that keep fighting. I'm about ready to get back into it.

Easily Amused I just downloaded Map My Walk, I'll check it out. Thanks :) I'm dropping water that I gained on my 5 day birthday carb celebration. I really hope to get this water weight off for good.

I was doing really well today and then my son made biscuits. I was only gonna eat the top off one biscuit (which I did cut the thin layer off) because I like the hard tops. Then my other son dropped the top to his biscuit in a pot of baked beans and he doesn't eat beans so I ate it. No I didn't have to but too late I did so now I have to add that to my calorie/carb count :(

I have been forgetting to post in this thread. Today has been a great day for me! I had a huge NSV today. So, I'm a bridesmaid in my brother's wedding in exactly one month. The original dress I ordered and that came about a month ago DID NOT FIT. When I say didn't fit? There was at least a foot gap between the zipper. There was no way I was going to get into that dress by the wedding, so I had to order a bigger dress and have it rush delivered (still not here yet...getting nervous). Anyways, today I decided to try that dress on again......THE DRESS ZIPPED!! Now.....it was still way too tight...but that was mainly because of my boobs. I have REALLY REALLY large boobs lol, so there was no way it was going to work still.....but what an achievement when just one month ago I had a 12 inch gap in the zipper!!!

Today I was also approved for my apartment so I officially have a place in Viriginia!! I'll be moving in 2 months and I'm so excited!

I was also 201.00 lbs on the scale this morning which means I have 1.25 lbs to go to see Onederland! It has been a great day all around ;)

katerina, nice weigh in :) what are you eating to get that much protein? What's your carb intake and which plan are you following? Sorry for all the questions.

no need to be sorry for the questions. i try to shut up about myself bc i feel like i could talk about this stuff all day long. haha.

i eat egg whites with chopped ham or turkey in am mostly (this morning i wanted something sweet, so i did lite pears drained with cottage cheese), chicken or turkey breast or ham as meat for lunch. i eat special k protein bars (peanut butter and chocolate yum) for when i want a piece of chocolate and if i come up short, i will have a scoop of body fortress peanut butter and chocolate protein shake with water. (i buy it at walmart. cheap and tasty).

i am currently eating about 2100 kcal a day and the carbs and fats fall where they may. typically i eat about 175 grams of carbs, but some days i eat more and some less. i just try to get 130 of protein a day. that's my big goal. stay under calorie limit and hit the protein goal. i am training to be a powerlifter, but i want to drop a couple weight classes.

April
16. 223.4 - 1,827 cals with 116 grams protein - conditioning day - 2 hours
17. 222.8 - 2,294 cals with 127 grams protein - deadlifts
18. 222.4 - 1,984 cals with 186 grams protein - bench press (with chains! so much fun)
19. 221.8

i am on a roll because my TOM started and i tend to drop at this time if i am on plan. it will slow up and i will hop on the scale every day and then curse it by next week. ;)

i do stuff like that all the time. you have probably already learned this yourself, but i thought i'd share.

i have learned that the only way i can stay sane is to accept that i'm going to do these things and count it up and move on. no shame allowed. i am terribly rebellious and will buck up against anything that restricts me too much. i love and enjoy food, and have long used it as a source of comfort and as a way to shame myself. i work really hard not to let either part of that comfort/shame cycle start up by just logging and moving on and being proud of a million other things that i did right during the day.

Olivia, thank you  I like the new rule. I'll certainly have to remember it :).

Thanks katerina  That makes me smile. I do log it and think what on earth were you thinking. But like Olivia said it didn't any damage. It's just in my head that it will because I tend to start on that biscuit road and eat more and more. Thank goodness, I still have 4 children at home and a husband that needs a plate to be waiting for him when he gets home. They ate the remainder. ;) I am a chatter box, so talk about yourself all you want I'll listen (read) :D LOL on the scale by the end of the week :). My SIL bought the pb/choc protein powder he says the pb is overwhelming. I buy the vanilla because I can mix it with anything. I like that it is inexpensive also, and PowerLifter wow, I don't know anything about lifting but it sounds great. Keep up the good work :high:

LGW, it is so good to see you  our little FB group just died out LOL. But it was good while it lasted. I've been on and off 3FC. This is the longest I've continued. I have my days and I think that's because now I know I have type 2 diabetes. It makes me want to get the weight off that much more so I can continue to be here for all of these children, :). I'm should be past where I am but I keep slacking off and then beating myself up about it. SO new rule from Olivia is NO BEATING OURSELVES UP. Glad to have you back

Today was the day for the 5K walk in memory of a student (scholar). I haven't walked a trail in forever. Oh my goodness, the hills tore my thighs up, smh. My son kept saying let's sprint. I'm thinking do you want me to have a heart attack? He's telling me breathe in through your nose and out of your mouth. I'm thinking shut up, lol. But he does lift and condition and train for football, but he's 16. My thighs were killing me by the time I got out of the shower so I took some ibuprofen. OK I'm finished. Today's gonna be a good day :)

Oh I ate two biscuits again today and two cup cakes. I wanted something sweet :) So I'm done for the day ;)

I agree with this, LGW. I think our society has conditioned us to believe that hunger is a bad thing and it must not be felt. But what we are feeling is not true hunger in my opinion. When I eat too many sugary, starchy carbs, this "hunger" is out of control within a few hours. But there is no way that my body is in need of food because I've consumed a lot of calories just hours earlier. To me, it's kind of like an addiction trigger. Because of the addictive properties of the food, it tricks the body into thinking it's hungry thus you consume more of it. I have tested this with myself. I am the absolute most hungry after eating a large amount of sugar and starch. My hunger is very different when I eat healthy, and it doesn't come nearly as quickly.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!

I've been trying to master eating out and visiting friends as well. Life goes on right?

For eating out...start out with a salad and chow down on that and a cup of water until the group finishes the appetizers...which they will do! Order the main entree with side of carbs and extra veggies. If its meat, cheese, veggies or eggs...eat it...if it's not...don't....

Friends....I was invited to a friends for a boxing party day 3 into my plan. I knew they would have pizza. I ate an apple and banana during my drive, picked up a diet soda, almonds and had salami sticks and cheese in my purse. I was nice and content when I arrived. Thanks 7-11 for having the options!

I use this site to remind me of what I should be doing!!!!

Great weigh in yesterday :high: On eating out ask for a to-go container at the beginning of your meal and place half of you meal in it. Eat part now, have the other tomorrow :) since the portions are usually big, just a thought and what I do when no one will eat what I have ordered. :) Oh my goodness do I miss 7-11 and WAWA. Good afternoon everyone,

Kukkie - I'm so glad your little one is feeling better. I don't handle sick kids well...I stress.

I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday (if celebrated)! I am counting down the days until I move out of my parents house and into my own apartment!! I'm moving from Michigan to Virginia. It can't come fast enough lol.

I was 196.75 today so I'm under 200 lbs. That feels pretty good.

I went bra shopping today and I am having the hardest time finding a bra in my size. I am probably a couple cup sizes past a DDD/F. I'm maybe a G or H in cup sizes, but the inch measurement under my boobs is only 34.75. Finding a 36G or 36H is pretty impossible. Gonna have to visit a specialty store because I need a STRAPLESS one of those for my brothers wedding. Yeah...don't know how that's gonna work ;) The good news is, I'm getting smaller all over my body...it's just that my boobs are being stubborn and don't want to go down at all!

hello fellow big boobie lady!

i am a UK 36HH about to be a 34J. With a 34.75, depending on how snug you like it, band size could easily be 34. I am currently a 35 underband and 48.5 overbust, and some of my new 36's are on the last set of hooks and it's still stretchy.

fullerfigurefullerbust has some great blog posts, (and she is a UK 36H).

bratabase.com is a great site for information.

herroom.com and barenecessities.com have all the great bras. and yes, there are strapless bras in our size! not many, but they exist.

if you live in a large city, you are in luck and can go try on bras before buying. panache and elomi fit me well. i haven't tried curvykate, but they have some really beautiful bras as well.

Hey guys..I've been slacking lately. Between school and health issues with our son, I haven't made it to the gym in quite a while. I've also gained 2lbs and am not happy about it. Our son is having surgery on May 9th so I definitely will be out of contact for at least 3 days.

Thank you, Thank you ladies!!!! I checked out all the bra sites and my favorite is bare necessities!! I found a strapless that I like in my size and will be ordering it this week! :D

Mama_Angel - Your precious son is top priority. If you can't make it to the gym, forget about it for now. Weight loss is primarily about nutrition anyways. I hope things go well with your son's surgery.

I recently started a "2 Year Health Journey", where I'm giving myself until Summer 2016 to reach my goal. If I make my goal before then, I'll just work on maintenance. I have a huge women's trip to Jamaica planned for Summer 2016. I've never been and I've always wanted to go since high school (which was 17 years ago). It would be nice to be able to get into a nice swim suit by then ;)

Great job to everyone doing well!

Olivia glad you found a bra that you like :) You can definitely meet your goal I'm sure before then because you are so focused. :)

Olivia - I'm a 38 H and for the longest time, I could not find a proper fitting bra. Very skeptical of buying online without trying because every brand fits you differently. I lucked out in my area there is a plus size store that also sells bras, and while I no longer fit in their clothes, I still go back for the bras. Maybe you can try something like that?

Thanks great LGW :high: I changed the front room around last night for my treadmill to come out of storage. We moved to a smaller place and there really isn't space in this house but it's for my health so it needs to be in here since we don't always have gas to make the trip to the gym.

Still at it (and still with water weight). The pants I bought in February are loose though so something's happening. Be back for personals soon!

That's right, love2b150...keep it positive! Positivity will manifest great things for you....and also keep the stress levels down ;)

I went to that specialty shop and got a corset-style strapless bra. It comes all the way down to the waist, a nice snug slimming fit, and it holds my girls up like you wouldn't believe! I'm still in shock! For this particular bra I wear a 38DDD, but I was told that in a regular bra, my cup size would probably go up a couple (maybe a FF/G). I'm just happy to have found a bra that I can party all night in! :D

Things are going good health and fitness wise. Keeping it positive and keeping it moving ;)

I was good today - no nibbling on the multitude of Easter goodies that somehow found their way into the house . . . .

Gotta take some weight off for the summer!

 morning!

I weighed in at 193.7 this morning, yay for me. I don't know how that happened, but I hope to continue the downward trend.

Mama_Angel - all the best for your son's surgery. How old is he?

Rennie - I just love your attitude; totally miss you when I'm not here

Olivia - I'm a 38 H and for the longest time, I could not find a proper fitting bra. Very skeptical of buying online without trying because every brand fits you differently. I lucked out in my area there is a plus size store that also sells bras, and while I no longer fit in their clothes, I still go back for the bras. Maybe you can try something like that?

Kukki: Our son is just now 9 months old. He's having surgery for a skull malformation and it will hopefully fix the enlarged ventricles in his brain as well as giving his cerebellum more room. If it doesn't fix the ventricles, then he will have to have another surgery for that part

I didn't weigh in today, but I have had a few people at work tell me that I've lost weight or that I look great. So that's always a plus!

Hey friends! Time is like flying by lately. Work has been a whirlwind as always...I have been able to head to Katy Trail here in Dallas and workout, along with getting my portions and food under control. Lost about 6 pounds since the start of the month, which is great. Ended last week and started this week sick with a sinus infection and still had to fly so my ears, nose, and throat are still recovering. Dr told me NO cardio this week so of course everyday I have CRAVED wanting to jog. Such is life, right? In other good news, I did receive news I am getting a pretty big promotion at work to a National Manager position. Marking off some bucket lists items (like management before 30, salary goals I privately wanted to accomplish before 35, etc) all at age 27. All this hard work is paying off...now I need to put my same successful formula towards my weight loss and man would I be rocking and rolling. Crazy how success is funny like that, right? Never taking time to smell the roses and pat ourselves on the back when we are overweight- always feeling like we are still inferior or failing b/c we can't be a certain size or weight. Maybe it's just me that discounts myself like that.

Rennie, just now saw your PM, thank you!! I think of you often but man, hours and days are flying by faster than I can keep track of my last post! Your posts are hilarious and resonate with me...the daily and hourly struggles, and the excitement when we see ourselves staying on some form of a plan for more than a day!

Kukkie, glad peanut is healing! Congrats on the compliments. Oddly enough,195 was my "turning point" for the compliments too. I had lost like 45 pounds and people would keep it up, nice work but when I went from 198 to 194, people like drastically changed their comments to OMG this is crazy, you are dropping weight like crazy now. I was like what?? I guess at 194 and lower, I went into smaller sizes and size L not XL so maybe the clothing also helped.

Olivia and LGW, thanks for the perspective and motivating quote. I emailed it to myself to keep close by. Congrats on your personal accomplishments. Keeping posting and updating- its so motivating!

Mama, praying for you and your sweet child that all goes well and healing can begin!

Wahine, better job than me! My boyfriend packed some Easter candy in my work bag because he knew I was sick and TOM hit me this week too so he was trying to be sweet. It worked, lol.

Lindy, great job getting back on track...thats the first step. I'm with you there!

RadioJane, congrats on the loose pants!!

Hope everyone has a good Thursday!! Travel day for me so Thursdays are my favorite day of the week!!

akelly728 - congrats on your promotion!! I hope your sinus infection clears up soon!

It's a good morning! I'm excited to get to the gym to jog! I hadn't jogged in a couple weeks since I had been having back troubles. Now that I feel all healed up, it's time to get back into it. I need a better sports bra. Bouncing these babies around probably contributes heavily to my back problems :(

194.75 lbs today. Same as yesterday. I'm very pleased with how my body is looking and how my clothes are fitting. I'm starting to get room in my size 14's!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hey everyone, late check-in for me!

akelly uber congratulations on your promotion!

 Olivia have fun at the gym.

Where is everyone else today?

I weighed in at 192.1 today. Wasn't expecting it because I had lunch out yesterday with a colleague, but I'll take it. Have another work lunch tomorrow, but I'm going to try and have a look at the menu online to plan what I can eat so that it's not too bad.

akelly -- congrats!

So the step challenge at work is in full swing! I'm aiming for a minimum of 10000 steps a day. Interesting how much I thought I walked at work....

My mom and I just started a GREAT challenge!
"Fit into this size 14 I bought for you" by Thanksgiving or pay me back double what I paid for the outfit!!!! The outfit will include all the accessories, shoes and purse and there is no limit on the cost. So I'm either going to have a really nice outfit for Thanksgiving or I'm going to pay for it!!! My mom is a great shopper, so the thought of what she may buy motivates me!!! My mom has a really nice pic where she was about a size 14 with well fitted jeans, full length leather jacket and a hobo bag -- she wants a dress but she can work a dress in just about any size, so I told her I am going to buy her a similar outfit to that picture....getting in jeans posing a bigger challenge! :-)

Sorry I haven't been around, I've been in and out of hospital for something they really don't know what it is yet, because of this I gained 7lbs from my last weigh in on here and have lost all of that and then some.

Anyway, my weight is 218.4lbs as of this morning :)

Thanks everyone! Happy Friday!! :)

Olivia, sinus infection is clearing up slowly! I'm looking to get out and jog this weekend hopefully! A good support system (both clothing and family, haha) is always helpful!

Kukkie, pre-planning is always helpful- good for you! The numbers are dropping for you!!

Rennie, where are you?? Roles are changing this week, haha - I'm now looking for you! Hope everything is ok!

LGW, what an awesome challenge!! That sounds soo cool...I can't wait to see what the outfit looks like at Thanksgiving. I'm happy to be experiencing the ride with you (and others) throughout the spring, summer and fall until then!!

ushotmedown, hope you get some answers soon. I developed really bad allergic reactions and landed in the hospital last year. Staying away from certain foods and detergents, taking Benadryl at night, and having an epi-pen has all become part of my new life. I hate not knowing definite answers/causes. Praying you get better soon!

I know I wrote (typed a post yesterday). :?:

akelly :congrat: on the promotion and getting things on your bucket list done by 27. :high: There are so many things I wish I had done when I was younger :) Keep on doing what you're doing :) LOL on my post. I just type what's in my head and hope that someone is listening and can help with the maddness :D Glad I can make you smile  I'm here

Olivia yay on your back feeling better and loose fitting clothes :high:

GO Kukkie GO Kukkie 192 next decade here you come :high: Kukkie is Peanut back to himself now?

LGW, what a great challenge :) and to do it with someone close and dear to you makes it even better.

ushotmedown, good to see you :) sending up prayers for heeling

Angie, Radiojane, Terra hope all is well

I am inching up by my .2's. .4's. .6's ... I really need to get a grip on things. I am never going to see the next decade if I keep eating like this. My evenings are horrible ... I made room for my treadmill to come into the house but we still haven't brought it in. Every evening there has been something else going on and we get side tracked (sigh) maybe tomorrow. TOM just left but I keep craving spicy and salty things, I just told my baby that I want something sweet (kids are funny, she said ok and went to her room). Thank goodness there isn't anything sweet in here :)

23. 222.8 - 2111 calories with 59 grams protein - conditioning day. (my least favorite training day!)
24. DNW - 2749 calories with 166 grams protein - deadlift day. also super depressed and my calorie intake reflected that.
25. 223.6 - 2185 calories with 160 grams protein - bench press and squat.

i was able to shift my mental space, which is a big accomplishment. usually, that sort of physical feeling depression that i experienced would have knocked me down for days or weeks, but i kept reminding myself of the blessings i have and tried very hard to stop wallowing. the really good training session i had definitely helped.

katerina11 - I think that is a HUGE accomplishment. It can be very difficult to stop yourself in your tracks, and shift your mental space from a feeling of negativity to positivity. Our minds are our biggest culprits. Getting the mind to work in harmony with the body is a big feat lol.

Today is a good morning! I have my nieces and sister-in-"love" (we say love and not law lol) over for the weekend. This morning I'm going to make the kids homemade pancakes. I love making them even though I don't eat them lol. My sister and I will have fruit smoothies. Yesterday, I went on veggie overload and ate an absolutely insane amount of vegetables yesterday (sauteed, raw salads, etc). Since I didn't "move" any of it out of my system this morning, I just knew I'd be up on the scale. Nope, 1.25 lbs down so I'm 193.50 lbs this morning.

Have a great weekend!

katerina, it's crazy what goes through our heads with life and on this journey exercise and food, so glad you didn't allow it to derail you  Great NSV :)

Olivia good for you on the pancakes this morning :) My son made pancakes this morning I ate a small one with my s/f syrup and bacon. We are headed to the gym shortly then my baby has a fun day at school so I will do a ton of walking with that.

Hoping to pull myself totally in and make this a good day. The scale has been climbing. I checked my stats and I was 163.2 at the beginning of the month so I must be below that at the end. That will be my motivation. I can't totally mess up my birthday month by not being good :D

You all have a wonderful day :grouphug:

Good luck! I'm hoping that it will be easier to be good now that winter is over (winter for me is all about being trapped inside with comfort food!)
