Washing the floor and vacuuming sound like good exercise to me! :) Have you considered wearing a pedometer to see which daily activities are putting in some mileage?

If you like WATP, by all means go for it too! And good luck with your exercise goals!

First four miles of 5 Mega Miles.
Lent starts this week. Nothing to really give up because I have already have! Oh, it just hit me, Facebook! Although I don't really spend much time on there anyway, but the little bit I do is a waste of time. I do follow this little boy's cancer treatments on there. He is the little brother of a student at my high school but I can just ask people at school about him. Sorry, rambling...! Cannonballing Cancer is the site, FYI.

I did the blue, red and purple miles from the Ultimate Five Day DVD. Just discovered that you can program it do show the miles you want. Works great! I guess I must have picked the shorter miles because it only took about 40 minutes for three miles. Also did the arm workout. Probably need to double that it's very short.

Catching up on the weekend: No Leslie for me, but Saturday was errand/chore day and I had over 12K steps, so I'm happy with that. Sunday was a rest day. This morning I did Firm 30.

Calcounter, I've been going to ask you about the plank again. I usually do it on my forarms and toes but today I did it on my hands and toes and got all the way to a min. Is it easier that way?

Oh I haven't tried it with hands, only done forearms. Did you read about that? That's good that you got to a minute!

I went back to the forearm plank because even though I can do the other one longer, I think the forearms work the abs better.

What does plus arms mean?

On the Ultimate 5 Day Walk DVD there are some specific areas you can work. So one of those is Arms. She lifts 5 pounds weights in 3 ways. I forget what the names of the exercises are. I have 5 pounds right now but I think I am going to buy 8 pounds next weekend as the 5 is getting pretty easy.

I've only tried the arms because that's what I'm focusing on at the moment.
But there is a full body stretch and I think legs and maybe abs.

Not as early as I should! :( During the school year I need to leave the house by 6:30 so I do the exercise 4:30-5:30. I try to get to bed before 10 but it doesn't always happen. On the nights I teach at the college I don't get home until 10:30 and I am so hyper that I can't go to bed until at least 12. So that's why I always take Thursday off.

There is a spring break for two weeks at the college and then I start teaching on Thursday nights so Friday will be my new day off for 8 weeks. My spring break at the high school is not until the week of Easter. I always catch up on sleep Friday nights and Saturday nights.

Three miles of the Five Mega Mile DVD. Power went off during mile 2 for just a minute so had to start that one over but that was fine. Bought 8 lb weights today so when I do the arms in the 5 Ultimate Miles I am going to increase.

Did you see that Leslie is looking for people who lost wh her DVDs for an infomercial? I've lost but no interest in doing something like that.

3 miles from ultimate five day. Tried my new 8 lb weights with the arm toning. They are heavy but it was fine! 1:30 plank. Haven't moved from that in a while but I'm fine with that.

No, but I do have one and two pound weights that I will wear on wrists on the days I'm not doing the arm workout.

Just realized when I get up tomorrow for my 4:30 exercise it will be like 3:30. Oh well, I can do it!

My mom ran into the arms of Jesus last Monday morning and the funeral was on Friday so I am back at work today and back to trying to get back on track with taking care of myself. Honestly I am just putting one foot in front of the other one for now and going thru the motions of life, I know with time it will get easier.

Wow, good for you for walking already. That's pretty amazing. I know when my dad died I was in a blur for weeks. Not sure that I accomplished anything. I know I didn't exercise and the fact that you already are will help you heal. In the arms of Jesus is the best place she could be given her disease. Bless you!

Going to a funeral today for a 94 year old lady who sits two rows in front of me in church, had no idea she was 94! She drove herself each week to church and was a Eucharistic minister up to about a year ago when she was nervous about going down the steps holding the Cup or Host. Amazing.

I did 3 miles this morning! I used the Walk to the HITS Party Songs dvd. also did core exercise and handweights. I had extra time bec I didn't sleep much last night. I'm sure I'll crash tonight.

I used 5lb weights but I have neuropathy and they seemed to make my feet hurt so I rarely use them now....I'll be 65 April 7th.

Yes I usually hold either one or two pound weights. I stopped sweating after I was getting close to goal so I decided to start adding the weights. It helps. But now 3x a week I'm doing an arm toning after the walk with 8 lb weights so I don't carry weights those days. It's just a four minute arm workout on the Ultimate Five Day walk.


I did order something from collage but forgot what it was right now, need to put this iPad down and go to sleep. 4:30 is approaching.

hey carol - i think that was a typo on my part. i think you're right, they were 4.99. i edited my post to show the right amount, but then went to collage video and they must have sold all of that one anyway.

someone else was asking about another site like collagevideo... the only thing i know is that i mainly order mine from amazon :)

hey gang :wave: i didn't get up early enough to walk so i rode my exercise bike for 20 minutes instead. it's the kind with the moving handle bars that go back and forth so at least it feels like i'm moving several parts of my body when i'm on it. i figure something is better than nothing. :cp:

Nope! I did three miles from Ultimate plus arms.
Just as soon as I finished I took my DD to a fancy breakfast place.
Then we walked around a nice area of town. However I started feeling bad so we came by my DHs office and I lost the breakfast. Hopefully it was just a weird thing and I'm okay now. Several teachers have had a stomach virus.
I feel fine now. But I think I'm not going to church. Usually go to 5pm Sat vigil. Don't want to spread it if it is something

Today I did the yellow mile (had to rest after) then the green mile and the arm/back. Basically it was the "Thursday" workout because I wasn't ready for anything bigger/longer.

That's a great start! I am using that DVD three times a week right now. I love the blue mile because of Proud Mary. I keep mixing up the other miles to find a mix I like. I'm doing just the arms 3 times a week. It seems very short, but I'm doing 8 pounds, and I don't think I could double it!

No I don't...but I am wondering if you can answer this for me. On a couple of Amazon reviews people said they liked her older videos better because she didn't have "young models" walking with her and there were older people. Which videos are those? My older MIL would appreciate those I think.

I don't know another good site to buy the videos except Amazon, but collage was better than Amazon because of the clips and extensive reviews.

I would say that the two newest videos, the Remix and Party do both have all younger walkers all in shape pretty much. But I am not sure which videos have older walkers.

I did three miles from the Ultimate, blue, green and red. Plus the arm workout.

Lol on the mambo. One of my other DVDs, the three mega miles has the mambo but she steps you through how to do it, so when I saw it on purple mile I could do it. But I know what you mean, there are several things that take me a while to do. The shift and punch done together were difficult for me for months!

I don't have any of the Walk It Off in 30 I do have the Belly Blasting Walk. I don't use it that much. In fact, I haven't used it for a while but I think it was all 3 miles of just Leslie and no other walkers. That's how the 5K Twist is too. I really like the 5 Mega Miles and the 3 Mega Miles better. Wow, I have a lot of DVDs and I just started in July!

Went back and did Purple and legs on U5. Ordered 2 new Leslie videos. Really hoping that Camilla isn't on the new ones. Her frequent hooting and fist pumps are not my favorite thing.

I do the warmup on the ones that are quick just so I get at least 50 mins in. Some of the miles are short , the ones that have the two minutes of jogging, so then if I don't do the warmup I only exercised about 40 mins. I don't think it is really necessary but I do it.

Haha I think, but am not positive, that Camilla is only in the Ultimate one. I don't mind her. Actually I don't mind any of the walkers. I think it was funny when she said that they are doing a walk-out dusting Proud Mary. My husband always complains about the guys for some reason.

It's too bad there isn't another place you can view clips of these videos.

I noticed on YouTube there are some clips. I am going to be traveling a lot this summer so I was looking on YouTube to see which videos are loaded there. Normally I wouldn't watch them because I feel like people put it up illegally but if I already own it... And I saw there was a clip of the Party DVD on YouTube.
But it wasn't long. Yes, it is a shame about collage closing. It seems like an ambitious entrepreneur could fill that niche but I guess they didn't make enough money.

I'm just getting back into the swing of Leslie, but all of my DVDs are the older ones. Yesterday, I did the 1st mile of 5 Day Slim down, and today 1 mile Get Started of 7-Day Calorie Blast. I plan to do more per day, but I need to build my tolerance back up first.

Today I was so tired when my alarm went off. Did not feel like walking but I did it. And I feel a million times better. Don't skip doing it if you feel bad, it will turn your mood!
One of the DVDs I bought from Collage in the close out sale was a three mile walk away waistline with the walk belt. So today was the first day I tried it. It's quite old, but still good. I feel like the belt is too long because there was no tension at all for me. I do have long arms though. I'm like a monkey, ha, whenever I buy things the sleeves are too short. The thing I thought was really weird on the video was they had a water break after two miles. They kept walking but they all had awkward sips of water. I found Leslie very motivating in her talks. She always motivates me, and maybe because I was not in the mood to exercise, up this was very motivating to keep me exercising. So I need to remember to pick this one if I am not in the mood. Although they all do lift me up!

And I feel a million times better. Don't skip doing it if you feel bad, it will turn your mood! Good to know. With the belt, you just loop the cords around the back plastic piece until it is tight enough. That's what I did.

Dropping in to report that I probably won't do daily postings any more. I'm finishing up the 30 day walking program I have been following (oops, it was more like 60 days for me!). I'm also incorporating different programs as well so I don't get too burned out on Leslie. But I'll probably lurk and occasionally post. Best of luck!

Anyway, first impression was "I hate this." Then I decided it wasn't so bad. In fact, it seems a LOT easier than U5 because usually I'm so ready to be done by the end of 1 mile on U5 but today, without even knowing I did it, I completed 2 miles on 3 mile party. I kept waiting for her to say "You did a mile!" But she didn't and I didn't know at first that there would be that little "Mile" tape in the corner of the screen.

Lol I didn't like it the first day either but then after day two and three I loved it. I just remember with that one and the a radio remix DVD thinking that the slow part of the HIIT was worthless. Well apparently it is all the rage and I can attest it works! I don't understand why, but it does. I know that you really have to exert yourself and jog or run hard during the thirty seconds to have it work. Somedays I space out and don't even realize I did the HITT and then I'm not sweating or breathing hard. It is still one of my favorites, but I have found I need to mix up the DVDs so I don't zone out. Plus supposedly it's better for you to not do the same one every day.

My two week break from the college class ended so I had to teach tonight. This means my new day off for the next 8 weeks is Friday. I don't like having Friday off because we usually go out to dinner and I want the exercise. But I can't get home so late and get up at 4:30! My parish has a Friday night soup meal during lent so I'm going to try to talk DH into going but he never wants to as they are too bland for him.

First three miles of Five Mega Miles. Wow, hadn't used the bands in a few weeks and I could really feel it. When I was brushing my hair this am, I noticed that my arms are starting to show definition. I think it's the Arm workout on Ultimate five. Although it could have been because I had just finished with the bands. Never had definition before!
