Default I'm Out of Big & Tall!

After five weeks of working with a medical wight loss clinic and having successive losses (btwn 1 and 5 lbs a week), I started feeling like my pants were getting just a little looser. I decided to investigate by going to JCPenney's and trying on a pair of Levi 501's (my favorite jeans) in a size 42w32l AND THEY FIT!

5 weeks ago I was a 44 waist. My nutritionist said that the drop wasn't probably due solely to the lowered calorie diet I have been maintaining, but also the increased physical activity (I've been walking between 2 and 4 miles a day).

I am so excited. It feels so good not to have to go to the Big and Tall men's shop. And, while I am by no means a fashionista, I think next paycheck, I just might go back to Penney's and buy those jeans as a treat to myself!

Great job. In the past 10 months I've gone from barely fitting in an XXL to now mediums.

I am closing in on 36 inch waist from starting at almost 48 inches.

My wife the other day said when I reach my goal weight which is more around 180-175 (I dont like to think too far ahead so I put 190) to go ahead and even buy a Lucky brand jean because she likes how they look. But that will be a goal weight jean only.

If you Google trim endaveors it is a podcast of success stories. I am interview number 9.

I started by giving up fast food and cutting out bread and pasta and potatoes because they were keeping me always hungry.

There were a few narly days then it got better. My hunger saw an immediate improvement which lead to being able to give up more snacks. I also started a couch 2 5K running program, C25K.

Eventually I gave up grains all together. So I am low carb, but eating more veggies and almost all whole foods. The basic concept is when you have too many carbs daily your body stores a lot of the food you eat as fat and never really burns your already stored fat.

So low carb has 2 MAJOR benefits. It gets your entire system into fat burning mode and for most people it REALLY reduces hunger.

Thanks so much for the info, diamondgeogI really appreciate it! I did search out your podcast and got all the great insights you shared so I can put them into play for myself. It was interesting to note, also, that we have adopting through the foster system in common and that is a motivator for you as it is for me.
