This is Challenge 2 of our 2014 Goal Year Challenge.
Challenge 2 will be approximately 6-7 weeks according to when your weigh in day is and will cover Valentines Day until April Fools Day. Everyone is welcome - you don't need to have been a part of the previous challenge to participate.

Challenge 1: New Years Day to Valentine’s Day (January 1st to February 14th)
Challenge 2: Valentine’s Day until April Fools Day (February 14th to April 1st)
Challenge 3: April Fools Day until Mother's Day (April 1st to May 11th)
Challenge 4: Mother's Day until Independence Day (May 11th to July 4th)
Challenge 5: Independence Day to Labor Day (July 4th to September 1st)
Challenge 6: Labor Day to Columbus Day (September 1st to October 13th)
Challenge 7: Columbus Day until Thanksgiving Day (October 13th to November 27th)
Challenge 8: Thanksgiving Day to New Years Eve (November 27th to December 31st)

Weigh in for challenges will be once a week. Copy and paste this format or create your own, edit dates to match your weekly weigh in day. You'll be coming back each week to update your progress (find the entry and click edit). And this thread will be available for us to chat about the challenge, overcome struggles and celebrate successes.

I will post a new thread for each new challenge as they approach. This means the thread will not get super long by end of the year and anyone can jump in at any point in the year!

I broke the challenge into 8 mini goals instead of 6. I felt some of the time frames of 10-12 weeks was way to long of a time period to tackle at once.

Hope you don't mind that I'm going to go from Valentine's Day to March 20th. We're going on vacation from March 20th to March 31st and, uh, I don't want my weigh in day to be right after I get back from vacation :D However, I'm going to push myself to lose more than usual so the goal I have for March 20th is the same goal I would have had for April 1st. Seven pounds may not sound like a ton for this amount of time, but Valentine's Day, my birthday, and my husband's birthday all fall within this time frame, and all those days involve dinner out and cake and stuff!

I usually weigh in on Sundays, but sometimes that varies.

I'd hoped to lose 6 pounds in the first challenge and ended up losing 7.5, getting me well under my pre-pregnancy weight! I'd like to keep going with an average loss of one pound per week, and would absolutely love to reach 209 by March 5th. Both the number and the date are very symbolic for me; I've never ever been under 210, and March 5th will be the second anniversary of my health reboot. If I reach that goal, it will mark a 58 pound loss since that reboot (not bad given that I spent most of last year pregnant); if I make my April Fools goal, it will mark a total loss of 155 pounds!

I've adjusted all dates to correspond with my Wednesday night weigh-ins.

I ate a two Valentine's cupcakes and two Valentine's cookie so my 169 from today will be gone tomorrow for sure. Oh I need to add I also enjoyed dinner with the family and had mashed potatoes and peas. smh. My calories were more than doubled for the day ... new day tomorrow, new challenge ... I'm not gonna sink so I've stay afloat and swimmmmm :)

Rennie, I just saw your post to me today. So glad you were able to pull that goal back out. Woohoo!

I lost all of the holiday gain plus 1.2 past the additional 6 lbs I added on to my goal. Total lost since the holidays: 20.4 (18.4) since the challenge started. :D

I am ready to get back to a healthier 1-2 lb loss each week because my skin isn't doing well with the yo-yoing/quick gain/quick loss junk. Sux to get old!

I just posted my start weight. I'm a little bummed because I had a good week this past week but I'm only down .4 from the week before weighin. I was really hoping to start this off a good 2 and a half lbs lighter. I know every week wont be an awesome week from experience, but it still bums you out when you expect to feel rewarded for your efforts and than it's a let down. I'm just going to keep keeping on. =)

So glad to see this challenge filling up! This is my first time out participating in one of these so I'm excited. I just posted my start weight, 183.4 lbs. I weigh in on Saturdays and I have a business trip this Friday and Saturday so my goal for this week is to just maintain this loss. For me, traveling brings on a fair amount of bloat so it will be a victory if I am able to maintain. However, if I can stay on plan prior to my trip I might drop a few ounces ;) Fingers crossed!

Cut and modified yours small steps. So dream goal will be 195.0. Acceptable goal 199.0 lbs. plan is to exercise 350 minutes a week. Run 5k race on 3/9/14. Try to stay on diet goal 1720 calories until below 199 then it will probably be 1650 calories. I would also like to start a weightlifting regimen 30 minutes 3 days a week also add a 2nd yoga class a week. Oh and drink lots of water.

Another returner here! My journey started 11/13/13 on WW. Highlights of the journey have been losing 90 lbs, zip lining and completing a 5k. I Have been totally off plan since December, recommitted to WW 2/20/14. I am only looking forward and accepting the gain of about 24 lbs during my hiatus. My Goal is a 2 lb loss per week through tracking food and increased activity accountability as monitored through my Fitbit.

I'm joining this party a little late but I am joining so that is good :) I am not sure what my starting weight is. Once my scale hits almost 305 I get error messages. I have seen nothing on the scale but E for several weeks now. The highest number I have seen show up is 304.6 or 304.8. So I can't give precise weights until I break below the "E" So, to begin I will list my goal as 304. Once I get to 304 I will adjust my goals accordingly for a 2-3 pound loss per week. I weigh in on Sunday mornings, so that is when I will be reporting. Here's to losing the "E"!!

:hug: Scarlet and Dee. I lost my husband 15 months ago. Valentine's Day was very hard for me, and it has been hard getting back on track with my weight loss effort. Today was the first day within my calorie goal since then.

Judy I am so very sorry. It does help me to know I am not alone here. I guess I just have to accept that there will be set backs.I just felt it was the one thing I could cotrol but didn't! I am done 4 whole lbs from yesterday so I guess it was water weight. It is interesting because this has been a hard few weeks for many people. Hugs to all of you!

Hope you guys don't mind if I sneak in here a bit late. I love these challenges, they are motivating and it's nice to see the downward trend! I weigh in on Tuesday.

I'm going to set my goal weight at 2 lbs per week, so I would like to be 227 by April 1. That would put be at my pre-pregnancy weight and would give me a new beginning point for April.

Scarlet, my heart goes out to you for your loss :hug: I've never been married and lost the love of my life, so I have no idea what this experience is like. I have lost my mother though and I think about my father even more during the month of February. The 7th is their anniversary with Valentine's Day a week after. I know it's difficult for him to get through. You're doing a good thing for yourself by making your health a priority. There is A LOT of support and compassion on this thread and site. We keep each other strong! We're all here for you even if it's virtual reality ;)

03/11/2014 goal: 163 Actual weight: 166.8 up +3.8 from predicted goal, down -2.2 from start I SURE HOPE TO DO BETTER NEXT WEEK

Weight up yesterday as usual on WEIGH IN DAY :( today I am down 1.6 of water to 165.2. Still not the 163 that I wanted to be yesterday but I will hope to be 161 or close to it next week :crossed:

Hi Ladies,

I keep losing track of this thread but am always happy when I find it again. I lost my weight tracker from my phone. I can hardly believe the numbers, but it appears I have reached my challenge goal. 90 pounds to go to reach Onederland. I have now lost 62.5% of my excess weight, Still 110 pounds to go. I count on all you ladies to keep me going. It feels like a VERY long haul. Then it is on to maintaining!!!

02/15/2014: 169.6 to start this challenge.


Predicted goal for 04/01/2014: 158
Actual weight: 163.2 up +5.2 from predicted goal, down -6.4 from start so I'm not mad :)

would have liked to have loss the 11.6 that I predicted but I will definitely take the 6.4 I did lose for this challenge :)
