I watched this and I'm not quite sure his argument holds up. The wisdom of crowds used to be that cigarettes were okay. It took a top-down campaign by the medical establishment to convince people that cigarettes aren't a healthy habit. Yes, sometimes authorities are wrong and have ulterior motives. We should judge information by our own lights and not by the wisdom of the crowd.

Very good points. Except, I don't think that was the case with cigarettes. I think it was ADVERTISING telling people they were OK. And then people were like, OK. I think if you asked Aunt May or Uncle Billy they would say yeah you get to coughing and lungs kinda get run down.

But in the way he applied it for diet advice, I think it was brilliant.

What happened was the health costs got too high and governments 'turned' on cigarette makers. I am hoping, hoping something similar happens with diet advice. The costs of the grain at the bottom just get too high and government revamps it no matter how powerful grain and food companies are.

Wasn't the Andy Griffith clip awesome? Barney telling Aunt May? It's the glucose and the carbs. You don't want the glucose and the carbs. Or is it Aunt Bee? I never really watched the show.

Found just that clip. 34 seconds only. The wisdom of Barney!

It is Aunt Bee and that part floored me!
Keep up the good work. You are helping many of us who prefer to lurk and learn.
