Hey all, if you are 5'4" and under (or not, but especially if you are), I want to know how long it took you (or you think it will take you) to fit in different sizes.

I'm at 158ish right now at 5'3", wearing a 10-12 (more towards a 12) and I'm wondering how long it will take me to get into a size 8.

Tell all peeps, spare no details.

I'm 5'2 and 174lbs! I fit into things in so many sizes like 8-16 :( I tend to be closer to 14 in pants, but I can fit into 12 dresses. Usually M or L in tops. I have no idea what my true size is. And what's more annoying is even when I was 200 my same clothes still fit, they are a tad bit loose but no reason to really go out and buy new clothes. I'm thinking because I'm short I'll need a good 20 or more lbs to see any drop in clothing sizes. Boooo! :(

I can't wait to go clothing shopping!! Seriously I'm waiting to be a perfect little black dress when I'm at my goal weight or close to it! I think I'm still relatively young and I want to be able to shop in these fancier stores and be able to look cute!!

Oh and I also can't wait until my thighs have a little width in between so I don't have to spend money on new jeans (at the same size!!) because they tear, does that happen to anyone else here??

5'1 and 170! I can fit into an 8 SOMETIMES (rare though) but I mostly buy size 12s. Can't wait to go down though! I finally got a great fitness instructor at my gym, I really feel like I'm embarking on a new journey! :(

I want to aim for an 8 as well. Right now I'm sporting as low as a 10 and up to a 12. =/ I got some big boobs and broad shoulders though, so finding ideal dresses can be a bit of a pain.

5'3.5 140.6 pounds as of this morning ;); size 8.

I started fitting into my eights around 148 pounds, but now at 140 pounds they really fit well.

This made me think;

168-172 pounds - 14 (my heaviest weight)
158-168 pounds - 12
148-158 pounds - 10
???- 148 pounds - 8

So looks like 10 pounds is my size range. I don't like tight clothes (read too small; hate muffin tops etc), so all my clothes fit the way they are supposed to fit, no pulling and spilling :D

Now that I am approaching 138 mark, I don't think I will be fitting into the 6's yet. I think I need to be around 133/134 before that happens. Weird.

I know when I was 112lbs, I wore a size 12 in children's clothes (even jeans!) and a size 0. 120-128 or so I'm solidly a size 2. Any bigger puts me in a 4.

I am 5'2" and 135 lbs. Not really sure what size I am right now because I've been losing weight and not buying any new clothes. I've lost 9 lbs. since November and I was (am still) wearing a 12. I'm sure I'm at least a 10 now. I think sizes go down about every 10 lbs. My clothes are hanging on me now so I will have to break down and buy some new ones soon. I just hate to buy new clothes and then lose more weight and have to buy even more new clothes. I think I'm going to try to wait as long as can but I do work in an office and I'm starting to look pretty "frumpy" :o

That's awesome!! (referring to your weight loss) I haven't gone down a size with 25lbs down, I really don't get it!!! Things are loose but still wearable :(

I'm 5'4". Well, actually 5'3 3/4". I got to my low weight about 20 years ago so sizing may have changed since then. But I kept a chart then of my sizes and measurements. I tend to have a large waist so I usually wear larger sizes than most people of my weight. So I'll give you my sizes and some of my measurements for each weight. I would guess that sizes now would probably be about a size smaller than what they were 20 years ago. That is, the old 14 is probably a new 12 but I'm not sure:

156 - Chest 40 1/2 - Waist 32 7/8 - Hips 40 7/8 - Size 14

147.5 - Chest 39 - Waist 31 1/8 - Hips 39 - Size 12-14 (depending on style)

143.5 - Chest 38 1/4 - Waist 30 5/8 - Hips 38 1/2 - Size 12

139.5 - Chest 37 1/8 - Waist 29 3/4 - 37 7/8 - Size 10

128 1/4 - Chest 36 1/4 - Waist 28 5/8 - Hips 36 5/8 - Size 8

119 - Chest 35 1/2 - Waist - 27 7/8 - Hips 35 3/4 - Size 6-8 (mostly size 6 occasionally size 4 in tops)

Hey y'all... I'm between 5'2 to 5'3 and totally a pear-shape. I currently wear 13-15 jeans and L/XL shirts and dresses in junior sizes. 12/14 jeans, M/L in misses. For dresses, S/M, some L depending on the cut and style. Looking forward to fitting in my size 11 from Target that I bought for motivation- probably 15lbs for me to fit in it because of my saddlebags! I usually shop at Kohl's and Gordman's.

We seem like we're built similarly. I'm 37/26/37. Before having a child, I was consistently 36/24/36 - I wonder if I can get her to take away that inch now! :)

178 lbs and I wear a 14 pants, but I am almost back into my 12s. Maybe another 5 lbs. At 160-ish, I was a 10.

I've been maintaining for more than two years now, but when I started in June 2011 I was wearing a size 14. I'm not positive what my weight was then because I didn't weigh until I had gotten down to the size I wanted to be, but I'm guessing I was about 180 or so. By Nov. 2011, I was fitting into 6's & 8's. Now I'm mainly 6s, with the occasional size 4 and sometimes [rarely] size 8. I fluctuate between 135 - 138. I'm 5 ft 3.

I just checked out your goal post - WOW! Your maintenance photo is what I'm striving for! Once in my life I got into similar shape (unhealthily) but this time I'm trying to go for it in a healthy and sustainable way. You look fabulous! :)

5'2" here. At 175 I wear size 16 jeans. At 140 (my pre-pregnancy maintenance weight) I'm an 8 or 10, so I think that works out to about a size every ten pounds or so. No clue what size I am at lower than 140, but I hope to find out...

Im 5'3 currently 131 and a size 10. I met many people that weigth more than me and they still have a smaller size :-/ i dont get it, i guess i carry most of my weigth on my tummy.

Nikolette - I know what you mean. I wear much smaller pant sizes, but I have built arms and I'll never fit in a size small shirt. Medium is my goal lol.

Ok - So I'm at 158ish now and I feel like 4-5 more pounds and I'll be a solid 10 pants (no 12s to be had). I usually get a XL jacket, but I ordered a Large one that I love to keep me motivated to lose 5 more lbs to get safely under 155. Can't wait for it to come - hopefully it will fit, with a bit of snugness for motivation.

BTW all - thanks so much for the responses!! It's crazy how much our bodies fluctuate. Love seeing so many people that have lost weight. I've stalled for about 2 years, but I'm trying to drop those last 25/30 lbs.

Thinking 145 is a safe size 8 weight for me. ;-)

I'm 5ft 1 .... At 222lbs I was in a size 22 dress 18 jeans. I'm now down to 158 and in at 10/12 dress and 8 jeans. However a lot of that is excessive belly skin that I will be having removed on 4/22 so I'm anxious to see what size then

I'm 5'2 and I really only know my jean sizes. Tops and dresses aren't very standard, I'm anywhere from an xs to a L depending on the cut and fabric.

These are my approximate jean sizes during my weight journeys (up down and up again):
<117 = 24
117-125 = 25
125-135 = 26
135-145 = 27
145+ = 27/28

I'm 5'4'' and currently a size 14 in jeans at 195lbs. A couple years ago I was getting into some 8/10 pants at 165lbs. I felt really good at that place so that is my goal once again.

I'm 5" and 150lbs. I wear a size 8 comfortably right now. At 155 I had to wear a loose fitting shirt due to muffin top. I got down to 130lbs a few years back and was in a size 5.....I miss you size 5 lol

I'm 5' 3"

In 2007, I weighed 138 lbs and wore a size 4.
145-150 lbs = size 6
155-160 lbs = size 8
At my biggest I was 185 lbs and squeezing into 12s. Refused to buy 14.

So what's different for me now vs. then, was back then my form of exercise was running. Now, I'm doing a mix of cardio and weights, and I currently weigh 170 lbs and I wear a size 8.

I know the lifting makes me heavier and I'm really trying not to focus on the number on the scale, but I know I still have tons of fat to lose! I don't think I'll ever be 140ish pounds again because I like my muscle, but I hope to be a size 6 soon!

I am 5'4" and currently at 180. I wear size 12 jeans and large shirt (or size 14 shirt). However, I do have jeans from 15+ years ago that are size 12's that I can't get into yet. Sizes have definately changed over the years.

I'm 5'. (Well, technically I'm 4'11 and 3/4.)

From what I can remember, my weight and sizes tend to go like this:

100-105: Size 0/2
105-110: Size 2/4
110-118: Size 4
118-125: Size 6
125-135: Size 8
135-145: Size 10

I'm 5'1", and at my heaviest weight of 220 I was a size 18. Now 30 lbs later at 190, I'm a size 16. I think that changing pant sizes is slower at higher weights.

I am 5'3 and went down 2 pant sizes after losing 48lbs. So It honestly is were you really lose it (most of my weight is in my tummy and thighs) and I lost a good amount from my tummy to drop the 2 pant sizes :)

I'm 5'4." My lowest adult weight was 123 lbs. and I wore size 2-4, depending on the brand in pants. Tops are xs or s, again, depending on brand, cut, etc.

123-133 size 4
133-143 size 6
