I had one for the first 10 months. She was fired after taking my $$ for a LONG time but never calling me after my vacation. Plus I figured out she was not my motivator, which was why I was paying her.

Hoping today is mentally a better day than yesterday. I did NOT go off the program, but I stretched it to the limits of what is allowed. I had the munchies all day. I ate pickles. I brushed my teeth. I drank water. I made three or four different kinds of tea.

But I still went to the gym and got my exercise, took and pills and today IS ANOTHER DAY. Grateful for having it and will do all possible to make it a great day. All up to me.

I had the munchies over the weekend.
We are stronger than the food!

On another note: I found a recipe for "Bubbies" pickles
I might try it!

No coach for me due to finances being so tight. Although I've seen wonderful weight weight loss, I do wonder if I would do better with a coach. I think I'm hitting a plateau(nearing the end of wk #4) as I haven't lossed any weight in a few days. But I'll wait the entire week before jumping to conclusions. Reading through all these blogs, is like winning the biggest jackpot on a slot machine, daily ! I'm a winner, big time! The support from everyone for everyone is very uplifting and makes me feel so much love! Seening others succeed helps me believe so can I!

Good morning everyone! I am back from Mexico! Had a great time, weather was fabulous (especially compared to here, lol!), the resort we stayed at was gorgeous, the beach was beautiful and we had so much fun.

The best part of the whole vacation was being able to do so much more than I did the last time we were there - starting with sitting on the plane comfortably. Swimming, walking tours, snorkelling - all were so much better with 60+ less pounds on me. I was much more confident wearing a bathing suit (no bikini on this one just yet) and even wearing shorts and sleeveless tops.

Anyway, back at P1 this morning - started off with a crispy cereal pancake and I have my lunch (a big salad with some peppers, radishes and chopped broccoli and a protein shake) ready to go. I am meeting with my coach at lunch today for a WI - I know I've gained some because my clothes feel different but I don't think it's a huge amount. I also think I want to change my goal weight but I'll talk to her about that too. So, I'll update my stats after lunch.

Hope everybody has been well over the past week - missed "chatting" with you all!

A plateau is 4 weeks with no change in weight or inches, not a few days.

I wouldn't call my 'coach' a 'coach'. She sells my protein. Because I make pennies being an intern right now, my parents are so wonderful and paying for my protein packets. I talked to Mama about switching to alts, and her response was that I need to do it the IP way so that there are no excuses as to why it may be coming off slower or not working as well. She realizes that my support system is found here and not at the clinic. I just let it be. Thankful that I 1. have parents willing to help me and 2. Have a support system (that's yall!) through all of this!

Regarding Bubbies, I think they have a different taste completely. Usually when I bit into a pickle, I squirmed a bit to get used to the taste. With Bubbies, I want to eat it like candy and eat the whole jar! Which could get very expensive. I haven't been eating them this past week and have definitely noticed a difference.

On another note, My TOM is approaching and for the first time I'm experiencing a 'bloating' feeling in my abdomen. I guess for so many years, it's always been covered up by my fat and other carb bloating? Does that make sense? I was talking to my cousin about it and she was thinking...maybe it's just because i'm getting closer into a normal weight range? Not sure.

We just booked a family thing for June once our kids are out of school...and it is almost back to back with another "sisters" trip to the same area my sisters and nieces do... June can't get here soon enough for me. This winter is the pits. Philadelphia and the surrounding area...esp just south, has had MORE SNOW than Boston this year...(Chicago ..still gets the prize..LOL...and we've spent our share of this winter there too.. )

Just curious.... How many of you on here are doing this program without a coach?

I have been a yoyo dieter my whole life. I was at 165 (my IP goal is 163) three summers ago and gained most of it back over a couple of years. Since I invested that huge chunk of cash at my first IP WI, I plan to get my money's worth. I need a coach to keep me on track after I lose the weight.

As long as I stay OP, I can see my coach when on P4 and forever.Or that's the story.

Good morning fellow IP's I have been trying to get back on track I slid off at the superbowl party and I got back OP yesterday. I vow to quit this from now on I work to hard to see the scale move and now I have to take off 4 pounds that I put on due to eating bad on Sunday.
My husband and I are traveling to Grand Forks on Thursday, I teach a class on Friday and Saturday and the highlight of the weekend is going to a UND hockey game Friday. I am already thinking I'm putting my lemon in my pocket and getting an ice water at the game. I am going to eat a good for IP dinner prior to the game and have plans to keep a shake in my coat pocket also.
I am going to go and by a rotissery chicken for the trip and de bone it prior to our departure. I love deboning these and keeping the meat in a container in the fridge at work it makes for a great snack.
I am going to make sure to get my workout in hopefully the hotel has a fitness room.

We are glad that you are back from your trip. I was particularly happy to read how much better the travel was now that you have lost so much weight. My husband and I will be going to Florida in early March and I look forward to being able to sit in the plane without invading my neighbor's seat space! I know that when I used to travel in on Southwest (love them), I always had a good chance of the seat in the middle being left because as passengers came on to scout out a seat, they never wanted to choose the one left next to a BIG lady! Good and bad....

No coach for me. My schedule is really hectic right now, so I can't see myself fitting in weigh-ins and meetings.

I think I'm hitting a plateau(nearing the end of wk #4) as I haven't lossed any weight in a few days. But I'll wait the entire week before jumping to conclusions.

I also just ended week four and the weight loss has slowed a bit. I think that's pretty typical, so I'm not too worried. If you look in lots of folks' signatures, you'll see that weight loss can fluctuate dramatically from week to week.

I'm just going to rein things in a bit to make sure I'm staying on track: measuring the milk in my morning tea so I'm not over-pouring, weighing my meat at dinner instead of eyeballing it, and giving up the evening Quest bars in favor of a shake (which I happen to enjoy just as much). I think I may have got a bit loosey-goosey with the little details and getting them back under control will help to kick-start the losses again.

Trinny - I am glad that you posted this because I think it reminds us of something we all may deal with - being loosey-goosey with measurements. We get so used to what we are eating but maybe not the amount and then wonder why we are slow.

Thank you for this reminder because I will be doing the same - weigh that meat for me, particularly, 'cause I do not think I am overdoing the veggies!

I had a coach the first time around, it was good to help me understand everything, but I think for myself the motivation has to come from inside me.....I think to myself....summer is coming and I want to wear pretty things and buy some sexy sport gear for my bike....summer is so much more pleasant when I am not the fattest person around..

Given that there is such a huge variation in the quality of training given to and education given by the "real" coaches, I am glad that I have not had to deal with questioning whether I was working with someone that would really benefit me.

Totally different
First, the no sugar added ones are sweet.
Bubbies are dill.
Second, they are pickled differently. No vinegar. Natural brine. Natural probiotics.

I think Bubbies are marvelous! And their sauerkraut is great, too.

I would love the recipe if you think it turns out well. Where are you going to get pickling cukes this time of year?

I have an absolutely terrible cold. Ugh. I am having to resist the temptation to eat --you know the kind of eating that you do to try to add a little pleasure in the midst of suckiness? That's the kind I tend to do when I am sick. Feels good to resist!

I am so glad we are approaching spring and the price of asparagus is making its way down. It's one of my favorite veggies: sautéed, steamed, roasted...so good! Another favorite veggie lately has been roasted whole mushrooms, so great with pork roast or steak, so little preparation!

Thanks 65! We stayed at the Gran Bahai Principe in Riviera Maya and it was fantastic. It's a huge resort, with 3 hotel complexes - I think the guide told us there was something like 2200 people at any given time staying there - but you never felt like "just a number". There were very few lineups anywhere, we could always get loungers under the umbrellas at the beach and the pool. The grounds were clean and the staff were all very friendly. The food was amazing - my sister and I did a Japanese a la carte restaurant the night before we left and it was really good - but I won't go in to too many details :D We did two excursions - one to the ruins at Tulum (our guide for that tour was wonderful - he lived in the area his whole life so his stories about the ruins were very personal and interesting) and then snorkelling to see turtles and then my son and I did a swim with the dolphins activity, which was lots of fun too. Again, all of this was so much better being at a lower weight :)

So, WI at lunch and I am up 4.6lbs which, isn't too bad considering. Hopefully it will only take me a couple of weeks to say "adios" to those and then move on.

Sounds wonderful...my sisters and I have done the Dolphin swim at Delphinus, and snorkled with the sea turtles at Akumal! We have also done para-sailing...and kayaking. I think they want us all to do a zip line this year.. I keep telling them am too old for this stuff...and I'll hold their wallets and take the pictures...but they just sign me up anyway! Your resort sounds wonderful. There is nothing that is NOT wonderful on the Riviera Maya though. Especially the sunrises....

Good article...not that most of us need any more convincing!!

It is amazing how food companies continue to add things to food sources ...will they be happy when the population declines from disease and early death due to all this dietary manipulation? :?:

Then sales will plummet...

No, I don't have a coach. And I'm wondering if that is the reason why I have zero weight-loss this week. It's pretty discouraging. If you will allow me the luxury of a mini-rant, I'm not sure if this is what I should be doing. When I was eating low-carb I wasn't paying so much money for the IP packets and I lost weight. I guess I'm just feeling discouraged, and wondering if there's a better way for me to do this. I wish I knew what I was doing wrong. I want to lose the weight very badly and am just I'm having a hard time with no weight loss at the end of my third week. I was told this was a quick way to lose fat.

I have, however, been encouraged by everyone's stories of success. I'm just hoping I can get through this down period. Thank you all for being my coach.

Yippysue, what is your daily regimine like? If you've posted it before, please direct me to where it is to read over. IP works. You may need to give your body time to adjust to any extreme losses you've recently had. Plateaus are normal. There are many people on here that loose just as much as they plateau!

Welcome home PurpleMonster!
It sounds like you had a great holiday and many NSV. For me it is doing many of these new things like sitting in a plan comfortably, running, increased flexibility, and new clothes that keep me motivated along with all the other improved health benefits.

I am bracing for more snow here, I think we are getting storm today or tomorrow. Have started working out at a new gym -Orange theory anyone heard of it? I think they are popular in the US.

Question....

So, our 'occasional' veggies states that we can have '2 per week'. That technically means 'servings'. Can someone confirm that the 'serving' is one cup?

Here's what I'm getting at. I love tomatoes. I try not to buy them because I'll eat them all in one sitting (the little cherry ones!). For the superbowl, I made my potato 'bread' really thin and it came out crispy like crackers. Then I made a fresh salsa with my tomatoes so I could enjoy 'chips and salsa' with everyone else. Then today, I used my left over salsa as salad dressing and it was AMAZING.

I'm wondering....would it hurt me if I spread my servings into half servings to allow 4 times a week? Don't know if that's making sense. But basically have 1.5 cups of select veggies then 1/2 cup of tomatoes to make a dressing?

For some reason i keep thinking..no...it's better to consume it all at once, kind of like how some people feel about eating all 8 ounces of protein at once.

Is this making sense or am I rambling?

That's what I thought. I mean, that's why they are limited in the first place. :(

All of the alternative Protidiet items I ordered from Nashua Nutrition are really good except...the chili & the spaghetinni...not so good.

Not sure if I ever tried Protidiet chili, but you should "doctor it up". Sauté red and/or green peppers, add 2 oz of cooked ground beef and chili seasoning. I use Mrs. Dash Chili Lime. I do it on the stove instead of microwaving.

Just curious.... How many of you on here are doing this program without a coach?

I am doing this without a coach and using alternative products.

Way to go! Proud of you. Those days are the hardest.

65X65, I, too, cannot wait till June and warmer weather. I have had enough of this wintry nastiness!

Yippysue: Do you have any thyroid or vitamin deficiencies that you know of? Perhaps a consultation with the doctor might help. I know that after being on IP for a couple of months I stopped losing weight and on what most call a “Stall” while being 100% OP. After suggested by my coach I went to the doctor and found out that while on IP I acquired a Hypothyroid. Doing additional tests I found out that I have a Vitamin B12 and D deficiencies. Hypothyroid is common when on this diet, the other 2 are just my body not liking me. It took me MONTHS to get my levels back into the appropriate levels and the funny thing is, I started losing weight as soon as my levels were in a better range.

I am not saying that this is your situation, but there is always a rational reason why IP doesn’t work. If it be not following protocol to the T, not enough sleep, not getting enough water, fat, salt, to many carbs for your body. I highly suggest listening to EMS and posting your daily regime and allowing the people on the form to add their 2 cents.

Wishing you a swift answer, hang in there.

I too am without a coach, but count this site as my coach! Thanks goodness for 3FC! I thought I would need the motivation of weekly weigh ins and such, but it was simply a matter of learning the protocol and feeling comfortable enough to go it alone. After reading everything I could here and on the alt threads I researched, researched, researched....then at week 8 I went off on my own. I just couldn't afford the cost and my coach was not the best and my clinic never had what I liked. They were always out of things and could never give good reasons.

All this talk about Bubbies, I think I need to get some. How does the taste compare to Mt. Olive no sugar added pickles?

Taste like a regular dill pickle to me.

We are twins. I started IP in 2011 and got to my goal of 163 and gained it all back. I use Alternative this time around, I do stop in the Clinic for my Potassium, couldn't find a good dupe. I used IP product the first go round for 3 months and then finished with Alts. I lost the same average on Alts.
Like others have said, my coaching was here. Wuv was my biggest plus :)

I am also hypothyroid and have a terrible time keeping my Vit D even near to normal. The doc has me on 75mcg Synthroid and I take 50,000u/1x week of vitamin D for 4 months and then 3000u/day for 3 months and when they check my blood, it is way low again. My B12 was low too, but that responed well to additional B12. Maybe that is why I lose so slow. Plus post meno, recent surgery and being a WOMAN! lol

Check the sticky at the beginning of every Daily Chat thread- there may be a part about alternates. There are also threads- use the search function. Many of us order online through places like Nashua nutrition; other alts can be found at GNC, Costco, BJ's, etc.

I've read the 50K vitamin D Rx isn't the correct version for bioavailability (don't get me started on big pharma!)
Anyway, do some research
You may find you're better off with OTC gel caps at a higher dose. I take 10K/day, which keeps my vit d levels optimal

Totally different
First, the no sugar added ones are sweet.
Bubbies are dill.
Second, they are pickled differently. No vinegar. Natural brine. Natural probiotics.

Where can I buy them ?
