I tried the 4 mi. It has power surges similar to the HITT but I think they are about 2.25 min. I notice there are 2 other walks of only 2mi. which would better suit me. It's just the 4 mi broken down into 2mi walks.

Went a little crazy on CollageVideo, lol.
Ordered 3! It was free shipping with an order of $25. So I got the 4 Power Miles, and then I got one called something like "walk away your high sugar". In July when I started my diet and my Leslie Walking my DH was diagnosed with borderline diabetes because of his sugar level. He was very upset and he started dieting with me and he started biking and then a couple months ago when it got to cold, he started walking with me. When he had his check up last week his sugar level was much lower and fine! I mentioned to him that Leslie has a video on the lowering the sugar level and he said he'd like it. So, that's why I got it. It is only 30 minutes, and it is a beginner level, but it will still be good to listen to and if I don't do it, I have people I can give it to. But then Collage said "spend only $2 more to save on free shipping!". So then I found a 5 day walk it off that had good recommendations. So I spent an extra $7.99 to save on shipping, lol. Oh well! I know I will use them.

Wow 40 is very good. I stayed at that or at 45 for a week or more until I wasn't shaking or in misery. I find I can't do them every day. I know the planking website says something about adding ten seconds a day, I couldn't do it that way. I would add 5 seconds and some days I can't go as long as the day before. I found today that I'm ok for a minute and then it's not so fun. And why am I doing this? Lol

Hey! I want to join in. A little history...I was a big video workout person around 2000 and I had Walk Away the Pounds in my collection, the one with the balls you filled with water! I thought it was a good workout but I thought it was on the easy side and often opted for more intense workouts.

Well, 14 years, a husband, and three kids later, I'm back to videos. I started getting some new Leslie Sansone DVDs in November, including the 5 Mile Fat Burning Walk. And I also picked up a kit at WalMart (http://www.walmart.com/ip/Leslie-30-Day-Walk-Off-Kit/28969501) and I've collected a few other non-Leslie DVDs, but I'm more or less following the 30 day calendar included in that kit.

Either Leslie's stepped up her game or I'm just not in shape like I was 14 years ago (ha!) but I've really been enjoying her workouts and feel challenged by them.

So anyway, I'm starting on the second week of the calendar and this morning I meant to do the 2 Mile Powerwalk from the 4 Mile Powerwalk video. But I accidentally selected the 4 mile option so I ended up doing a classic walk mile, then a power walk mile, then part of another power walk mile before I realized what happened and had to stop in order to get the kids to school in time!

I hope to be posting in here often!

Excited to have you join us! Wow, fill balls with water! I didn't know she had something like that in the past. You will progress fast with the miles and it will get easy quickly. Especially since it's only been since 2000 and with 3 kids you are probably on your feet a lot as it is!

I'm relatively new -- since July. I hadn't exercised in 23 years (since my first child was born). I'm a teacher so I'm on my feet a lot but as far as a formal exercise, nothing. I've lost over 40 pounds with the DVDs and MyFitnessPal and I love them! My DH is even doing them about 3x a week with me - and that's at 4:30 am, before school!

Anyway, didn't mean to ramble about me, :o, but just wanted to share that they are really good and work! One of our favorites is the new Party DVD.

Thanks, Sharon and Carol! I have done some exercising since 2000 but not consistently enough. I actually got back into videos after the gym I was going to closed due to failure to pay taxes. I figured they'd be closed for good, and started thinking about all the benefits to working out at home, and stopped carrying a gym bag everywhere I went! (The gym actually re-opened within a week but I was so over it! Fortunately that was toward the end of the year I already paid for).

Now I work out in the morning before work, instead of after work but before picking up the kids, which has helped me be a lot more consistent because so many things pop up throughout the day. But one thing I loved about my gym workouts, was the time listening to music while I turned off my brain on the elliptical. So now I mute the DVD player and listen to music. I like that with Leslie it's easy enough to follow without the audio cueing.

I have also had a Fitbit for a year now and I love it! I love getting half my steps in (I aim for the standard 10K per day) before I go to work. It's such a good way to start the day.

I started out trying to do my 5 Mile Walk Slim - was going to do miles 2,3,4.
During mile 2 it kept freezing. So I took it out, wiped it off, and then tried again. Same thing ... So about 3/4 through that mile I took it out and put in the 4 Power Miles - and I did the 2 Power Express Miles (or whatever it's called). Planked for 1:05 - just didn't have the energy!

Today/tonight is my really long day - so tomorrow is a day off.

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't checked in, but I am doing fine. Just not recovering as quickly as I had hoped. Still having some issues with my arms and my upper back. Doc is letting me wean off of the cervical collar that I have been wearing since the surgery. I actually slept without it for a few hours last night.

I'm thinking of trying to do maybe 15 min. of easy Leslie DVD. Just walking, no arms just yet. Interestingly, I have lost 4-5 pounds with all of this! I have not been eating much, but still was surprised to see a loss.

I go back to the doc on Weds. 2/19 and we will discuss returning to work then. I'm not sure I'm ready, but I know they are anxious for me to get back to the office. I'll see how I feel and discuss all of it with him. I am DYING to be able to drive again, though!!

Hope all of you are well and surviving this cold winter!!

hey gang - I did 3 miles this morning. I used the Walk to the Hits, Party Songs, then did hand weights and core exercises.

I have not been on her since December 17 when we found out that my mom's lung cancer is back. she is at the end and we are with her 24 hours a day, and honestly I am exhausted. this is the first Saturday I've been home in 2 months. I hit the floor running everyday before 5 am and up til I can't go anymore and just don't have any time for me.

if you don't think that Leslie's walks are doing anything, just quit for 2 months and eat whatever is around and watch the difference in yourself - it is not pretty - and I feel like a slug. have gained 6 pounds.

I'll try to get on here when I can.

I'm only one pound away, so it does feel like it. May as well hit my goal, although I lowered it two times. But not going to lower it again.
So I'm sure I won't feel any different when the scale says one less than it does now. And then the hard work of maintenance begins. But now that I am exercising I think it will be much better.

Three miles from the Ultimate Five Day walk. Did Tuesday, miles 1,3,4. She has an arm toning that is just five minutes after Tuesday walk and I started that. Going to get some definition in my arms one day. She says you can tone them at any age!

GOAL weight hit today!!!!! I must credit my friends here and Leslie, because I think without this exercise and her motivating talking I couldn't have done it!

I don't bounce on two feet either, nor the jumping jacks. What I do is jog normally with the bounces and then when she does jumping jacks I jog where my feet kick back.

I told my DH that Leslie had a walk down sugar level and he told me to get it. So I got it several weeks ago but he hasn't walked with me that much lately. So then today he could walk, and I said we should do that DVD and he doesn't remember wanting it, lol.
So we did the 2 mile walk down your sugar level. And then two mile power express from the four mile power.

The sugar one was very basic yet we were both sweating by the end. No surges but lots so positive talk. We didn't watch the clip at the end with a doctor. I don't think we will do it with any regularity but it is nice still.

Day off today (had a dentist appointment this morning) but I had a very active weekend! Saturday I had more than 15K steps between errands and a visit to the zoo, and yesterday I did the whole 5 Mega Miles DVD.

Awesome! I have learned I can't do more than 4. So on Sat/Sun I try to do four. If I go more than 4 the bottom of my feet start hurting. But when I started they hurt after 3 miles only so it has improved. :)

Sorry about the dentist. I am overdue, sigh. Need to make an appointment but I have the fear of going. I have a good friend who LOVES the dentist. She loves getting fillings or anything they do to her. I had NEVER heard of such a thing but when I asked my dentist about it they said that they do have a few patients who love going.

Yeah, I noticed my lower back was sore more than anything! I think it was partly because of all the activity the day before. The 5 Miles was really long, about 80 minutes, with the warm up and cool down. It's on my calendar again at the end of the 30 day schedule I'm following, but maybe I'll split it into two parts because ain't nobody got time for that!

The dentist is a necessary evil. I went for a long period of time when I was a grad student where I didn't go to one, and I paid the price. Now I go every six months. It's like weighing myself, actually. If I skip one weigh-in, then I'll skip another until eventually I'm in real trouble!

This morning I did the 30 minute burn workout, and my kids joined me! :D

Out of shape newb here...

I've done Leslie videos in the past..... in fact I have VHS of her 1,2, and 3 mile walks! But I also have DVD's. I haven't done them in many months. I did the 1 mile express earlier this week and it was almost too easy. I did break a sweat, but I didn't feel like it pushed me. Later in the week I tried the 2 mile and it kicked my Butt! I couldn't finish. LOL! I got 1.5 miles in at least!

I was also reading on here about planking? (Is there a certain website you all use?). So I went online and saw what it was and how to do it. I started shaking immediately and only lasted 10 seconds. Wow. That's hard! Is it supposed to be that hard? LOL!

Anyway, hope you don't mind me jumping in here! It's fun to hear about what others are doing!

Glad to have you join in! I started with a mile too but soon you will jump up to many more!
Don't worry about planking! I just started doing it in January because several much younger teachers do it at my school and I joined in. I could only do 10 seconds at first and that was very hard. It looks so easy! I added 5-10 seconds every few days and now I am at 1:25 or so. It varies.

Carol - it is in the 50s. Well, :o 58. I know, it sounds ridiculous! Once you've lived here a while your blood thins out and 50s means I am wearing a sweater with a coat. My DD is now in NY who grew up here wears shorts and flip flops when it's 50.
