Hey  had a rough week emotionally, but keeping on. Have done ok with the scale am down another 2lbs. to 176. Got a very bloated stomach though. Not sure whats going on there. I do loads of work at the gym. Cardio and weights. Confuses me that my tummy is so squashy!
Hope you had a good week ladies :)

Happy February Everyone

Sam great job on the 2lbs down :high: Sorry about the rough week  I wish I had some advice for you on the squashy tummy but I am now looking up what I can do about mine. I probably should have started working on it long before now. The lower half is just a flap of mess. It doesn't look as bad as it did and it's not sitting on my lap like it use to but there is still a bulge/lump in my front that bothers me. When you figure it out let me know please :) Thanks

ushotmedown :wel3fc: and to the thread :) Glad to have you. Good job on the 2.8lbs down :high:

akelly, skinnyki and Frantastic hope you have a good weigh in this morning :crossed:

January was a good month for me. I loss 10.2lbs by cutting out carbs (starches) and sweets/snacks/sodas. I am going to start following a modified 4-Hour Body diet by Tim Ferriss on February 3rd. I had a good weigh in this morning also. I was down .4 to 168.4. I slept 2 hours longer than I normally do so I wonder if that helped, either way I'll take it as being off to a good start :)

02-01-2014, 08:09 PM
got to the gym. I'm feeling good. I burned 589 walking 4.01 miles :) My calories are low and I still haven't ate my planned tuna for dinner, not good. What to do?

02-01-2014, 11:59 PM
Hello all my goal for February is to get into the 270s. It was my goal for January but January was rough for me. In many ways I will not let it discourage me. Im learning to slow my roll and go with the punches. I want this so bad but I also know my eating habits havent been the best it is better than it has been but I still have a long way to go. Today was ok went ovwr my calories by abt 200+ went out to dinner with my son for his 16th birthday. Tomorrow is his official birthday. Hopefully I can stay within my calories.

Happy Sunday

skinnyki, I hope February is a better month for you  I had a big loss in January due to cutting out carbs and sugars, so I know February will be a slower loss month. :) That's a great mindset to roll with the punches on this journey because every little thing not going in your favor will almost throw you off if you allow it. I have had many set backs in my 4 years on this journey. It's so easy to get discouraged, at any point. Happy 16th birthday to your son :) I have 16, 15, and 12 yr old boys and 20 and 10 yr old yr old girls. :) When in April is your birthday? Mine is the 14th :)

ushotmedown, wow 1458 what a great burn yesterday :high: What all did you do?

akelly, Sam and Frantastic

What paths are the two of you taking on this journey, counting calories, low carbing, a particular diet or your plan? I am a little worried about adding a starchy carbs back in but hopefully if I find that I am not doing well I will be able to drop whatever I tried and pick myself back up.

02-02-2014, 09:49 AM
I jogged/walked a total of 4.6 miles which burnt most of the calories.
I did 15 minutes of yoga, 15 minutes boxing, 20 minutes hula hooping, 10 minutes step aerobics and day 1 level 1 of the 30 day shred. I think that covers most of what I did.

My wii fit board said I had lost 5lbs this morning but I'm skeptical so we will see what tomorrow says

02-02-2014, 09:49 AM
WahineByTheSea, :welcome: to the thread :) Good job on the 1.4 down :high: glad to have you :) What path are you taking on this journey, counting calories, low carbing, a particular diet or your plan?

02-02-2014, 09:52 AM
ushotmedown, depending on how you're eating you could have definitely dropped 5lbs. I was told that the first 12-14 pounds is detoxing/water weight so it can be done for sure. Great workout :high:

02-02-2014, 05:23 PM
What path are you taking on this journey, counting calories, low carbing, a particular diet or your plan?

I'm trying to keep this really simple - I'm calorie-counting because that seems the easiest.

I guess we'll how that works for me at the end of this month!https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRZJBIavZz84tG23MloE-DgvpOqq3ozf2U3YU4hP-NQ9HlsZwWAJg

02-02-2014, 06:06 PM
WahineByTheSea, that's what I did when I first started out also and it does work. I loss 30lbs, liked the way I looked and stopped and it has taken me almost 3 years to get back to that low with the yo-yo dieting ... my next mini goal is 165. You're taller than me but our outcome is the same we'll do this :high: And :congrat: on the 15lbs GONE :cheer:

02-02-2014, 06:27 PM
Thanks Love2b150! My birthday is April 6th. Aries rule! One day at a time is how I look at all my gaols now. I remember being in college and I wanted to become a nurse so bad and everyone was pressuring me asking me when was I graduating. I finally gave myself permission to quit looking at the time and just do it! Dont worry about how long it might take just concentrate on the here and now. Now I am going to apply that philosophy to my weight loss.

Great job on your lost for January. ! And thanks for the support and starting this thread. :)

Day 2 285.6

02-02-2014, 07:12 PM
Thanks skinnyki, I agree the focus must be on the here and now ... We've got this :high: Great job on the 25lbs GONE :cheer:

02-03-2014, 03:07 PM
Thanks love2b150.

Today going good. Weight stayed the same. At least im not gaining

Day 3. 285.6

02-03-2014, 06:48 PM
skinnyki, you are so right at least it's not a gain, keep smilin' :)

I didn't really eat dinner last night I had some nuts, cheese, grapefruit juice, popcorn and a blood orange and got up to a 1lb gain. I'm sure it was the popcorn because it happens just about everytime I eat it in the evening. Oh well better luck tomorrow :)

02-04-2014, 07:44 AM
weight is climbing 170.4 this morning 2.4lbs up from 2/1

02-04-2014, 11:26 AM
Love2b150 im sure that 2lbs is water weight but I hate that!! It is so discouraging! Im in the same boat. Today I was up abt 2lbs. Im used to it bc I weigh daily. I had to get up early today so I weighed in earlier than normal. But hey it happens also if my sodium intake is up I know I will retain the next day.

Day 4 287.4....I think bc I barely wanted to look I hurried off the scale in disgust!

02-04-2014, 12:53 PM
Hello hello hello!

Some of you know that I posted various times throughout last year swearing that this was it for me and I was ready and committed to getting back to it. But the reality is that staying home for my maternity leave really didn't help anything. I constantly put my son and my husband and housework first and didn't really make much of an effort as I should have to focus on me.

Well, I finally came back to work yesterday. It was hard to leave my little one but also oh so important to focus on me as a woman and as a professional and not just a mom. The best part about this is it will allow me to log on here daily, to come and chat with all of you lovelies and because I bring my food with me, I will be better able to stick to a plan of what I'm eating. So much better than just walking into the kitchen whenever I'm hungry.

So without further ado:

02/03 - 196.5
02/04 - 195.3 (-1.2)

02-04-2014, 02:30 PM
So, I'm checking for the first time 4 days late! Not good :( I partied way too much every night this past weekend and I'm paying for it on the scale. The silver lining - I did work out every day so far and run at least 2 miles. So, back on track and still have plenty of time to make this month as successful as January was!

skinnyki, good luck this month! Can only move forward, don't look back!!

Wahine, welcome!!! East coasters rock :)

starbrite, nice job on the loss, especially after the month you had. Keep focusing on what's important :) Even if that seems to change daily!!

Kukkie, oh my gosh Rennie and I were talking about you last month - just reflecting on the "old crew" and how we missed them. Welcome back, what a great February surprise to see you back and active! Although I know it was tough to see yourself slip, that precious time with your little one can never be replaced so you did the right thing :)

Rennie, girl I need you to slap me lol! 4 days later and I've bounced back up....ugh. But I had some fun :) Now I'm back and refocused and going to lose some more!!

02-04-2014, 08:13 PM
skinnyki, it is definitely a sodium gain :) My son made fried chicken last night and he over seasoned it for sure. I also had 5 fries with ketchup, which is a definite :no-no: I know better :( I just came off of my church consecration on Sunday so yesterday was a sample day, kind of. I hope today's eats fare better on the scale in the morning :crossed:

Kukkie, I am so glad to see you  I know it's hard to go back to work and leave Peanut and trust me it does not get any easier but we do what we have to do. :) My Rissa is 10 and I miss her like crazy :) But I love on her and my big boys when I get in :D Good on you for taking your lunch :high: I take my lunch and snacks with me also :) You're got this :) I'm so happy you're back

huh akelly I need you to slap me ... I am so trying to keep myself in check, before I slip too far back. I have worked to hard to get to the 160's I truly can't allow myself to screw up for food, smh. LOL, we can :kickbutt: each other for the last few days :) and back on track tomorrow and the rest of the week:)

Sam hope all is well, keep your head up my friend :)

Ladies I am glad we are here together, we can do this and we will

02-05-2014, 06:04 AM
I'm not really sure what my body is doing atm.
So far the scale has said that I have lost 2.8 then 5 then put on 8 then lost 1 then put on 2.
I have stuck to my diet 100% and I can see myself losing weight from my body its just not showing up on the scale yet which is frustrating.

02-05-2014, 08:26 AM
So my scale might hate me at the moment but guess who just fit into a smaller size pair of jeans :D Oh yeah. I mean they are tight, but they soon won't be ;)

02-05-2014, 11:44 AM
02/03 - 196.5
02/04 - 195.3 (-1.2)
02/05 - 196.6 (+1.3)

02-05-2014, 11:55 AM
 everyone

Rennie  heyyy lady. It was hard to leave Peanut, but I need to do it. I have so much respect for women who choose to stay at home because it's not easy at all. Loved the time I had with him, but I really did need to come back. I see you're back in the 60s! I'm so proud of you! I knew you could do it. Are you working again now? How are the rest of the kids?

akelly  missed ya! how is everything going? I'm so glad to be back and to see familiar faces. It makes coming back so much easier when you "know" people in the group.

ushotmedown the scale may not be showing it, but the fact that you fit into smaller jeans is a definite victory. Don't let the scale get you down. Keep working your plan and eventually the scale will show it as well.

So, I had a 1.6 gain from yesterday. My team at work took me out for a welcome back lunch, so I'm sure it's a sodium gain - I was expecting it. No worries, it will come back off. I am armed with my lunch and snacks and water galore.

02-05-2014, 12:40 PM
kukkie, things are going well in my personal life as well as my professional life. Health wise - I put on about 50-60 pounds so working on losing those again and more. Tough, but essentially I put my career ahead of my workouts and spent my nights and weekends working hard on a project for a year (2011) and then once that workout routine was broken, I just sulked and pitied myself for the next 2 years. Sooo, 3 years later, I'm back and focused, a little smarter, and just putting the past behind me and getting back into shape! So inspired by you to see you being able to pick things up and get back into gear with so many reasons to distract you :) But, I'm so glad you came back "where everybody knows your name" haha.

ushotmedown, Way to go!!! Smaller jeans (no matter how tight) are always a true indication of how far you have come!! Squeeze into those jeans and dance girl :)

Rennie, we have such a similar issue LOL. See a new decade (or get close) and then eat our way away from it. But, you are very accountable to yourself, much more than most, so I have no doubts you will get back to the 68 and then see 67, 66, 65...etc. I was .2 away from my goal for January soooo I decided to bounce up 5 and then come back down..LOL. I'm a hot mess on the scale. And in life ;)

02-05-2014, 01:26 PM
Rennie -- sorry for my slow response -- no excuse -- just need to check in on a daily basis and it might help me if I start posting my food here daily too. Since I am a compulsive overeater and my eyes are broken, I am weighing and measuring all my foods and no snacking between meals and trying to drink a lot of water. The plan I am following is:

B: 1 oz oatmeal; 8 oz milk; 6 oz fruit
L: 8 oz salad; 1 Tbsp. dressing; 4 oz protein; 6 oz cooked veg;
D: same as lunch

Right now I am not exercising and my gout kicked in yesterday so I am actually hopping around on 1 foot today. Did it to myself -- ate red meat which sets it off -- not a smart move!

02-05-2014, 10:13 PM
Day 5 288.2 wht the heck?
I know it is water weight due to too many carbs. So trying to do better! Today was good under calories and carbs are low. Sodium could be lower but its not too bad. Hey u cant win them all :)
Hope everyone is doing well :).
Someone just reminded me that spring will be here in 6 weeks :) Crunch time!!!

02-06-2014, 12:11 PM
Still at 196.6. It's just so lovely that you can put on 1 lb with the snap of a finger but have to work incredibly hard to get that same lb off again. Sigh.

akelly: aww, I don't know how much of an inspiration I am. I really tried to come back several times last year, as Rennie probably remembers, but those distractions really did get the best of me! Sidebar: LOVEEEEE the Cheers reference!

02-06-2014, 07:32 PM
Here's my plan tomorrow (Friday):

B: 1 oz oatmeal, 6 oz raspberries, 1 cup skim milk
L: 8 oz salad; 4 oz chicken; 1 Tbsp dressing; 6 oz asparagus
D: 8 oz salad; 4 oz fish; 1 Tbsp deressing; 6 oz green beans

No snacking and lots of water -- still hopping on 1 foot from an attack of gout (as admitted above, my fault).

02-06-2014, 07:59 PM
Lost 3lbs. Finally on the right track again!

The next 2 weeks will be difficult, I have no scale and I am at my partner's family home so his family are about.
Dieting with people who love their food and takeaways is not fun!

02-07-2014, 11:52 AM
Bahhh, still at 196.6 and going out for lunch with colleagues again today. Must make good decisions.

02-07-2014, 04:34 PM
I'm down about a pound/pound and a half to 235.0. Have worked out and eaten well during the day, but dinners I am not so great. Been feeling under the weather lately, so hoping I'm feeling 100% on Sunday when it's supposed to warm up!

02-07-2014, 06:14 PM
Stuck to my juice fast today. Also went for a 20 minute walk.
Tomorrow they want takeaway pizza.
That should be fun to try and get out of.
Hopefully my willpower is still there and they just let me be.

02-07-2014, 10:02 PM
ok playing catch up ...

ushotmedown, whatever you do don't let your scale dictate anything to you  As long as you know you are doing what you're supposed to do that is what matters. The scale will move. It also a great time to take your measurements and allow them to be your guide when the scale isn't cooperating :) ushotmedown, what a great NSV (non scale victory), fitting into your jeans :high: see you will not be defeated :woohoo: ushotmedown, do the best you can in these two weeks , hope you can check in though, it does help when you don't have your scale :) ushotmedown :goodluck: tomorrow with the pizza :crossed:

Thanks Kukkie :) That's right arm yourself with goodness :) just as I need to do ;) I am in and out of the 160's ... I've got to get my head back into the game. I have kind of slipped this week but I am hoping to get it into gear starting tomorrow. We had an Asian lunch today at work since it was out last day of training (no rice or noodles at all for me) but I have been wanting fries so I bought some from the take out truck at the job. Thank goodness I have learned how to stop eating when I am full. :D I shared them with a co-worker and still I couldn't finish what I had so I count that as a victory for me. I actually threw the remainder in the garbage about a third of them. :yay: The kids are good, keeping me busy, I can't believe Chelle will be 21 this month and married two years come June. Time flies. wow. Kukkie I checked in periodically in 2012 like you did in 2013 ... I'd check in and then check out  but it's all good we're here now  Kukkie hope you did better today then I did :) oh I forgot to add that I had a slice and a half of nasty cheese pizza ... so not worth the calories, smh.

Thanks akelly :) You're so busy, I don't know how you do it. My hat is off to you on following any plan, because it's hard to plan when you are always on the go  I try to stay accountable but I've found that if I have someone to TELL me not to eat something it really works better for me. :) I have had a hard time these last few days staying totally focused. I was trying to think of a true appetite suppressant I could take for just a few days. I really need something to curb my appetite when I don't have a grip on my mouth and my mind :dizzy: I'm a hot mess also :) akelly good job on the pound :high:

Frantastic, I don't know much about gout, so I hope it's ok to say I hope it settles and you feel better soon without sounding dumb  I honestly found that the only way for me not to overeat was to cut out breads, pasta, rice, sweets ... anything that would set me off ... that I couldn't stop eating and it worked. My problem is that I have gradually started eating them again and I need to stop. Frantastic your meals for today are truly on point, I hope you had a great day :)

skinnyki, sodium is a killer of smiles and all good feelings about everything when you get on the scale  I know I will have a two pound up tomorrow. I am trying to drink 3 bottles of water before bed (then I'll get up every hour to go potty  but hopefully it will help :crossed:
LOL, I don't want to think about the change in the weather yet ;). I barely have anything I can wear now and I can't afford to buy any new clothes yet. The goodwill stores here are much higher than the ones where we use to live and the clothes aren't nearly as nice.

I have been trying to get on this site without vulgar pop ups, I remembered another member had the same issue and she was told to use another web browser so that is what I have done, hope I don't have that problem again.

My plan for tomorrow and Sunday's meals will be

B ~ protein shake mixed with Atkins
L ~ 5 Buffalo chicken tenders, low carb yogurt
S ~ nuts (cashews, sunflower seeds, peanuts)
D ~ taco meat, shredded cheddar salsa, in a lettuce wrap

I have to add it up in MFP to see how many calories it is but I have got to do it to get myself back on track. Goal is 1300 calories a day with carbs hopefully under 100 and half my body weight in water. Wish me luck :)

02-08-2014, 05:38 AM
love2b150 how do you make buffalo chicken tenders??

02-08-2014, 09:29 AM
hamlette, I bought these at Kroger in their cold deli section. My son does make these though. He fries cut up chicken breast, then he uses a pre-made Buffalo sauce with add in's to make it spicier, shake them in a bag and then bake them. I have done it before using wingettes but I bake them totally, no frying.

down .2 to 170 even today ... I will do well today so hopefully back in the 160's tomorrow :)

02-08-2014, 01:57 PM
love2be150 - Thanks for your well wishes -- I'm on the mend. No more red meat for me! I am the same with the bread, pasta, rice and sweets -- one tiny bite is too much and I cannot stop or control myself. Looks like you have a good successful food plan for the weekend.

My plan for today:

B: 1 oz oatmeal; 1 cup milk, 6 oz blueberries
L: 8 oz salad; 3 oz chicken; 6 oz green beans;1 Tbsp dressing
D: 8 oz salad; 3 oz turkey; 6 oz green beans; 1 Tbsp dressing

02-08-2014, 02:51 PM
286.4 today slowly creeping down :) just need to be good this weekend. The struggle is real hope everyone has a good weekend.

I think my culprit is coffee for some reason I retain water with coffee :( bc I love coffee. Anyone else retain water with coffee?

02-08-2014, 05:26 PM
Frantastic that's good to hear :) I need to eat more vegetables for sure, you're doing great. :)

skinnyki, good for you on the scale :high: I thought coffee was supposed to be a natural diuretic?? When I drink it I go to the bathroom constantly. But depending on what you put in your coffee it can easily pack on the calories also :)

so far so good today with my eating :) I was down .2 this morning

02-08-2014, 06:23 PM
Ooh yay stuck to it and didn't eat any of the junk food they ordered which turned out to be a LOT. I hate that look skinny people give you as a fat person if you say no to junk food. So awkward

02-08-2014, 06:43 PM
Hi Guys,

Im new to this thread. When I joined this forum I was 294 and now Im 295 from 300, I got up to 300 cause after awhile of dieting and working out I started getting lazy and I just stopped everything all together after awhile but on Jan. 16th of this year I started working out and dieting again and I've lost 5 pounds so far. I was always skinny as a kid, I didnt start gaining weight until after high school, While I was in high school I maintained a 120 pound weight all 4 years, Since I didnt have P.E.to do after high school to keep me in shape I just started eating fast food alot and I wasnt in sports prior to high school so I didnt have that to fall back on either so I just didnt know what to do when I graduated high school in 2003 so I just didnt do anything and thats how the weight started piling on. I started gaining weight from May of 2003 until Jan. 16th this year, So it took me 11 years to get to 300 pounds and I know its gonna probably be just as long to get to my goal weight of 150, I know it didnt come on fast and I know its not gonna come off fast. Anyway I look forward to getting to know all of you.

02-08-2014, 08:54 PM
ushotmedown, I don't mind the look because I'll ask them is there a problem and then say I have to have a taste for that because I usually do. But it's the comments that bother me. Like "I thought you were on a diet! Should you be eating that?" ... my thoughts why do you care and mind your business :D But :yay: for you on a great NSV, sticking to your guns :cheer:

Terra, :welcome: back and :welcome: to the thread. Glad to have you. Good job on exercising again. :high: and on the 5lbs GONE :high: Which diet/eating plan are you following?

well I just finished my dinner. My daughter said who eats a taco like that? I had a nice green leaf wrap taco. It was very good

B ~ protein, Atkins shake
L ~ Buffalo chicken tenders, mozzarella cheese
S ~ cashews and peanuts
D ~ unwrap beef, cheese, salsa taco

I need to get in 24 more ounces of water

akelly, Kukkie, Samand anyone I may have missed, I hope you are having an On Point day

02-09-2014, 01:38 PM
Idk Love2b150.. for me coffee makes me retain and it doesn't make me go but I do love my creamer in it too. Since my post I have stop the coffee and I am back to 285. Go figure any way im glad I figured it out. Back to 285 but I been at this weight for almost a month! It is time for me to switch it up and get out of the 280s. Thinking of a master plan.

02-09-2014, 02:44 PM
love2b150 ~ Thanks for the welcome, Im not following any diet/eating plan, Im just cutting back on my eating and working out, I walk 3 times a day for 45 mins each time except for Sunday's, Sunday's are my no working out day.

02-09-2014, 04:46 PM
Heyyyy everyone! Hope everybody is having a fantastic and OP weekend. I'm having a decent one - not great, but not bad. I've been back at work for one week, and had lunch out twice. Not so good. Yesterday I was at 199.0 - that was scary and today back down to 197.5. Bah.

skinnyki - I'm a caffeine addict, but I don't think I've ever related any water retention to my coffee, I only have mine with skim milk though. Maybe it's the creamer you mentioned?

Terra welcome! Glad to see that you've gotten yourself back on track. We're all here to support you

Rennie - good for you that you were able to resist finishing those fries. Yes, you had them, but the fact that you didn't finish them proves how far you've come! Oh my, Chelle will have been married for two years ALREADY???? Seriously, time does fly by!!!

So hubby and I decided to downsize our home to a condo living. We realized that we didn't need so much space, and we really hate gardening/shovelling snow, and we want to travel more, so there you go. We sold our house a few weeks ago, and we're moving into a condo building that has a decent gym included in our maintenance fee. And it's only 10 minutes away from work for me, which means less of a commute and more time to focus on me getting healthy and having fun with Peanut. I've been busy packing here and there this weekend, those boxes are getting heavy!!! But I really need to focus on good eating for the next 6 weeks, because there will be a point towards the end of March where we'll be having takeout for a few days. I'm already not looking forward to it. But can't wait to move!!!

02-09-2014, 06:40 PM
Kukkie84 ~ Thanks for the welcome, Im glad Im back on track also.

Tomorrow Im back to a week full of 3-45 min walks each day except for Sunday's, Sunday's is the day I rest. I also have 2 meetings to go too and we're gonna go run errands on Tuesday like we do every Tuesday.

02-09-2014, 09:08 PM
Terra1984 - Welcome back!! What a nice way to start -- a 5lb weight drop! Nice:)

Kukkie84 - Congrats on making the move -- never easy to do but it looks like it's all upside.

I am off to a company in meeting in Las Vegas for a week tomorrow. This won't be easy since the whole time the company has everything catered or we have to go to the restaurant of their choice. Will do the best I can. At least tomorrow I will pack my lunch and dinner for my flight. I will still post my daily plan time permitting (they keep us really busy). Here's my plan for tomorrow:

B - 1 oz oatmeal; 1 cup milk; 6 oz raspberries
L - 8 oz salad; 1 Tbsp dressing; 4 oz blackbeans;
D - 8 oz salad; 1 Tbsp dressing; 4 oz blackbeans;

02-09-2014, 10:19 PM
Frantastic ~ Thanks for the welcome and it was a nice way to restart by dropping 5 pounds

02-10-2014, 05:51 AM
Hi Ladies!

I used to belong to this group a couple of years ago and after a couple of attempts at being a regular (and failing) I know I really need this board to help me be accountable again! Can I come back, pretty please? :)

I see some "old timers" here - Kukkie, Akelly, and Rennie - HI GIRLS!
Kukkie - Congrats on your baby! How wonderful! You're a momma now! :)
And some new people too - hi everybody! hope to get to know you all better!

So I got down to 187 about two years ago and maintained it for a year, but some setbacks at work happened and I got very depressed and gained all 30+ pounds back. I was so miserable and crying all the time. I didn't care about anything - just depressed. Gaining the weight back only added to my depression. :(

It took a lot of courage to get out of the situation and for my sanity, my husband and I decided to make a huge life change and move to Turkey in May. So here I am in Turkey - I don't have to work, my husband works from home and I can spend time with him and my kids and just dedicate myself to getting better!

Now that we are settled in for the most part and our container arrived with all my exercise equipment, I can get started again! I have my own gym downstairs (treadmill, weights, tv, Wii, stereo) and time to use them- really, I have no excuses AT ALL! I have eaten all the great Turkish food and desserts the last couple of months being here, that I am pretty sure, I wont miss eating them for a couple of months while I work on my health. :)

Whew! Ok, so now that I am caught up, I can tell you how I plan to work this weight off!

1. Weigh myself daily - Good thing I have always been a daily weigher. Its funny, I have been doing it so long I know my weight before I even get on the scale!
2. Check in daily - Checking in with this group has always helped me remember that we all struggle daily and it feels so good to give and get support! And it keeps me accountable too!
3. Diet changes - Last time I gave up sugar, sweetners, salt, and kept my diet low carb. I ate a lot of good food, 6 times a day, and felt satisfied not hungry. I am going to do this again because I know it works!
4. Exercise - I forgot how great exercise feels! I have been working out (walking/running) for 20 minutes a day for the last week and already my mood has changed! I feel so good afterward! I kept good records about how much I worked out and for how long, the last time I did this, that I know how fast I was able to build stamina. I am looking forward to reaching those goals again!

And thats it! That is how I am going to accomplish my goal. I was thinking of updating my ticker but I think this is a good first goal to look forward to! Here is a snapshot of what my weigh ins have been since I decided to start this journey again:

Wednesday, February 5, 2014 221.6
Thursday, February 6, 2014 220.6
Friday, February 7, 2014 220
Saturday, February 8, 2014 220.6
Sunday, February 9, 2014 220.6
Monday, February 10, 2014 218.6

Thanks for listening! I am happy to be back!

02-10-2014, 11:46 AM
lnoelparis - Welcome back -- I'm one of the newbies since your last time here. Very cool you and your family have moved to Turkey -- I spent the holidays in Istanbul this year -- lots of good walking there and up and down the hills. Looks like you are on your way down!

02-10-2014, 11:56 AM
I just want to say that I am super excited to be back in ONEderland! Mondays are my weight ins and today I weighted 196.2. VERY, VERY EXCITED!!

02-10-2014, 11:56 AM
Lnoel  hiiiii lady! So glad you're back; of course you can join us again. I just joined again last week. I'm sorry to hear you had such a rough time, but glad that you were able to find away to ease back into things. Turkey sounds soo exciting! I know there are lots of spice markets right, so you can jazz up your food in lots of new ways?

Frantastic - haven't made the move just yet, end of March. But we're gearing up for it.

I'm back down to 196.0 so I've essentially erased the weekend's gain. New day, new week, new plan. Hope everyone has a fantastic day! Talk soon.

02-10-2014, 01:16 PM
Lnoelparis ~ When did you officially start your new weightloss journey again? I started mine again on Jan. 16th of this year and I've lost 5 pounds so far, I wish you the best of luck on your journey.

Paulitens ~ Im excited for you

Kukkie84 ~ Congrats on the loss

Im looking forward to getting my walks in today, Im also looking forward to running our errands tomorrow and hopefully going to my 2 meetings on Wed. and Thurs.

02-10-2014, 01:45 PM
Frantastic - Hi! Thanks for the welcome and nice to meet you! Istanbul is just an amazing city. It will take a lifetime to explore! I love walking around Istanbul too. If you visit again, let me know! :)

Kukkie- Hi-hi! Thanks, I missed you guys and often wondered how everyone has been! So cool to be back! Turkey is really fun and yes it has a HUGE spice market in Istanbul - I go once a month just to walk around in it! Been using lots of cumin lately and it definitely spices up the food!

Terra- Hi there! Officially, I started February 4th @ 221.6 lbs. I am down 3 lbs this week and I am hoping for another pound tomorrow, but I know that is mostly water weight. Also, I have been working out and I am sure my body is holding on to a lot because of it. Congrats on your loss so far! What kind of plan are you following? How many walks do you do per day and how long? Since this is my first week, I promised myself to do only 20 minutes a day because I have a tendency to go "FULL FORCE" and then fizzle out! So because I am just starting out again, I am going to give myself plenty of room to build up to more challenging work outs. That said, I still switch off walking/running during those 20 minutes so I can get my heart rate going! I am going to add weights next week.

Hope everyone has an OP day!

02-10-2014, 03:22 PM
Lnoelparis ~ Im not following any kind of plan, Im just cutting back on my eating, I walk 3 times a day for 45 mins each time but Sunday's are my no work out day, Its just my day to relax

02-10-2014, 10:43 PM
skinnyki, good for you on figuring out the coffee :) and I need a master plan also ;)

Terra, well good for you on your plan and the walks :)

Kukkie :woohoo: on the weigh in :high:, I use to pee like crazy after a travel cup of coffee :), I love the stuff but going to the bathroom drives me nuts. smh. I remember you and the coffee in the morning now :)Thanks on the fries but I am still struggling like you wouldn't believe. I so hope I can do better tomorrow and the rest of the week :crossed: Kukkie congrats on the move  and if you have Jimmy Johns or Jersey Mikes, they have an unwich/unwrapped sandwich that you can eat for lunch, maybe some protein for breakfast or a green smoothie and then a splurge at dinner just a thought for March. Don't want you to undo all that you have done by that time, so hoping to help you and ME plan ahead ;) Kukkie, nice weight in :high:

Frantastic, there is a restaurant inside the hotel beside the Luxor I forget the name but it's a Wolfgang Puck restaurant. Oh my goodness the food is great. Have fun when you're not working :)

Leah, :welcome: back, you know you can come back  How have you been? My sister-in-law lives in Turkey. LOL, I thought I was the only weird one that knew my weight before I got on the scale ;) You are off to a great start, nice plan, way to go :)

Paulitens, :welcome: to the thread :) and :congrat: on Onederland :high:

Sam where are you  Hope all is well

Well I'm not doing so well, look at my stats on page one. I am back in the 170's and climbing, not good :no-no: I can't seem to stop snacking in the evening, arghhhhhh it's driving me nuts and I feel so bad afterwards. It's irritating to be this old and so out of control like a kid (that's how I feel). I plan my food for the day on MFP and still screw up, smh. What gives???? I am so hoping to get it right tomorrow, one day at a time, RIGHT?

02-11-2014, 01:05 AM
Paulitens - wow!! Onederland!! Congratulations, that must be an amazing feeling!!

Lnoelparis - I will definitely let you know if I ever go back there -- I loved it.

Rennie - Thanks for the restaurant recommendation. One year we ate at the Wolfgang Puck restaurant and it was very good. Unfortunately for my boss, he had me order the wine for everyone (and he didn't know that I know wine very well and, of course, I like very good wine). Well, lets just say, he never told me to keep the price under a certain amount, but he was able to cover it! BTW, I definitely hear you on the snacking-I am a big time snacker and just cannot handle it at all -- so my plan doesn't include it. However, I have found that if I brush my teeth and get into bed, there is a much less chance that I will succumb -- just brushing and flossing my teeth seems to dissuade me but I will jump into bed to get further away from the snacking urge.

Okay -- my plan for tomorrow is to stay as close to this as I can -- I did bring instant oatmeal but that's all and the company provides food:

B - 1 oz oatmeal; 6 oz fruit (I'm sure I can get that); 1 cup skim milk
L - 8 oz salad; 4 oz protein; 6 oz cooked veg; 1 Tbsp dressing
D - 8 oz salad; 4 oz protein; 6 oz cooked veg; 1 Tbsp dressing

02-11-2014, 09:52 AM
Morning gang! I'm up 0.7 today to 196.7. I don't think I had enough water yesterday. I'm really struggling with my water intake. It used to be one thing that I was really really great with and I just can't seem to do it now. Argh. Must make more of an effort to keep up with it.

Thanks for the congrats on the move! We aren't actually moving until the end of March, but it is definitely very exciting. Gotta get started with work; talk soon!

02-11-2014, 08:49 PM
Frantastic, we only went to Vegas because my husband had a business conference there. I would never step into a Wolfgang Puck restaurant after that. My husband and I and quite a few other people in our party looked at the menu and there weren't any prices. It told us a lot for sure :) But oh my goodness :) I go to bed early during the week anyway so that keeps me out of the kitchen. The problem is when I first get home from work. I want just about everything ;)

Kukkie I seem to be having a problem with my water intake since I started this job. We have strict rules and on breaks so I can only leave my phone during my assigned break time, sucks. So I have to drink most of my water when I get home then I am up most of the night, smh. :) We'll get it together. I'm looking for another job for sure :)

No change today. Weight stayed the same. I am trying to go back to the low carb way of eating but most days I don't succeed. Today wasn't too bad though. Hoping for a better weigh in tomorrow :crossed:

02-11-2014, 09:34 PM
love2b150 ~ Thanks for encouragement

Today I went to the doctor's and found out I actually lost 8 pounds total since I started my weight loss journey so thats very cool. I wasnt able to get my 3 walks in today but I will be sure to get all 3 of them in tomorrow and every day after tomorrow of course.

02-12-2014, 02:08 AM
Hard here in vegas as all meals are provided by the company and they aren't really what i can eat -- will try doing better tomorrow. Here's my plan tomorrow:

B - 1 oz oatmeal; 6 oz fruit; 1 cup milk
L - 8 oz salad; 1 tbsp dressing; 6 oz green beans ($11.00!!); 4 oz protein
D - 8 oz salad; 1 tbsp dressing; 6 oz vegetables; 4 oz protein

02-12-2014, 07:30 AM
Terra :congrat: on the 8lbs GONE :high:

Frantastic are the meals catered? I know I don't have to tell you but pick and choose lightly, most of the time at those meetings nothing is fried but sometimes things are over sauced and the veggies are steamed. If it's sandwiches, just politely remove the bread. IDK you've got to do this for you and let them wonder what or why you're doing it. There will be someone that will say, look at her she is really eating healthy ... they may not say it out loud but they'll be thinking it and you may just encourage them to choose better foods, who knows  Hope today goes well food wise for you, you've got this

eating right paid off I am down 1.2 to 170.6. I need to get under 169 to meet my Valentine's Day challenge :crossed:

Have a great OP day Everyone

02-12-2014, 09:48 AM
Mamma mia! My weight is fluctuating like crazy right now. Up 1.6 to 198.3 today. Holy cow! And that's AFTER I went to the bathroom TWICE this morning (sorry if TMI). Ayi yi yi. Need to flush this out with some heavy duty water drinking today.

Hope everyone has a great day

02-12-2014, 09:02 PM
Kukkie, sorry about the up, but glad you are being a trooper about it and know that it's just water :) Hope it goes away tomorrow :crossed:

Well we got snow here for the third time since we've lived here and these people are clueless. It took me 6 hours to get home, it normally takes me 45 minutes to an hour tops. I told my husband if they had the snow we had up north in 2010 (up to my hip) they would lose it, smh. But it is a mess. There are cars stuck in the middle of intersections, all on the side of the road, in ditches ... but I made it with a lot of prayer :)

02-12-2014, 11:51 PM
love2b150 ~ Thanks for commenting on my weight loss, Im sorry to hear about all of the snow you guys have gotten. Our snow is slowing melting now and I hope that we arent getting anymore snow until next year but we'll see.

I didnt get any of my walks in today so I've been beating myself up over it but I am going to get all of them in tomorrow for sure

02-13-2014, 01:33 AM
Hello Lovely Ladies!

Terra - Congrats on those 8lbs loss! That was a nice surprise! :) I hope you get a chance to walk tomorrow!

Kukkie- Sorry about the gain. I get mad when I go up .2! lol! Chug that water girl!

Rennie- We were supposed to have about 3 months of snow here in Istanbul. I was kinda looking forward to it. So far we have had about 3 days of it. It has been a very mild winter. My MIL says we brought the heat from Arizona with us when we moved! :) I hope summer wont be like an AZ summer! aaack!

Well, I am up .6 today. I am a little annoyed, but I know my body goes up and down on a regular basis and since I am exercising, it goes up more for a few days and then down again. Yesterday my husband and I went for a long walk on the seaside, we walked fast enough that we were sweating. He has longer legs than I do, so I had to trot at some places to keep up with him. It was so good, we are going to do it again today after dropping the kids off at school. I love that we get to be together all day and spend time doing things we like.

Okay ladies, have a great OP day and seeing numbers fall!

02-13-2014, 03:04 AM
Struggling in Vegas but only 1 day left to get through. No control over what is served and no time to go out and get my own meals. Here's my plan for today:

B - 1 oz oatmeal; 6 oz fruit; 1 cup milk
L - 12 oz salad; 4 oz protein; 1 Tbsp dressing
D - 12 oz salad; 4 oz protein; 1 Tasp dressing

02-13-2014, 10:00 AM
Just a quickie from me: down again 1.5 to 196.8. Plan is to continue with the water again.

02-13-2014, 10:35 AM
Hi everyone!

I'm new here but doing well so far as far as weight loss. Not sure about the every 2 day weight gain. The next morning I'm down like 2 pounds lol.

I wanted to commit to working out every 2 days but now I'm just making sure I get 3 workouts in one week done. How are yall doing with working out? Is it helping?

02-13-2014, 03:53 PM
gurlnextgen - I always find I do better when I workout. It makes me feel better physically, but then mentally it always motivates me to eat better because I don't want to undo all the hard work!

02-13-2014, 06:29 PM
Terra, I haven't exercised in a week. I have kind of been in a funk with my new job. It is truly more than any of us expected and it's an extremely challenging on you mentally. We were warned but didn't think it would be this bad. I am got my resume in order today. I have to find something soon. I am so drained when I get home it's crazy and I don't like to complain constantly and that it what I find myself doing during my breaks and lunch ... too too stressful .... Thanks for listening :)

It snowed more here today along with more freezing rain. My husband left two hours early for work and got stuck on the highway. I told him to slow down and not ride in the slush, he said he was doing about 45mph (which was his problem, smh) and he said the truck hit a wet patch that didn't look like ice and he literally slid to the side of the Jersey wall. Thank goodness there weren't any cars near or if there were they got out of the way. I told him I did 25mph and below to get home yesterday because the roads were so bad. He didn't listen to me, but the people that helped him push the truck told him the same thing I did and that was to slow down ... will they ever listen, smh :)

Leah, that's what I saw about NC we brought the winter weather with us. But it still is not as bad as what we'd get up north. I didn't dare go out today and because of the ice they have closed school tomorrow thank goodness. I am still up in the air as to whether or not I am going in tomorrow. I can't do another 6 hour drive home (not that I think it would be that long tomorrow) but I have hit black ice in the past and that was the most frightening thing I have ever experienced with all of my children in the car.

Frantastic, just do what you can do  it's almost over :yay: Enjoy your last day ;)

Kukkie, way to go on your weigh in :high: How much water are you drinking? I need to give it a shot ;) I had two cups of coffee today with my s/f caramel macchiato so good :D since I didn't have to worry about peeing all day at work I could enjoy it :D Oh and your BM's usually did your weigh in good if I recall right so yesterday must have been just the water issue :) but it paid off today :)

gurlnextgen :wel3fc: and to the thread :) Working out for me does a lot. I only walk however but it still does me justice :) What is your eating plan? How much water do you drink per day? That does have an impact on your weigh in. Keep track of your water intake for about a week or two and compare it to your weigh in and see how the correspond. Just a thought :)

I am down .8 to 169.8 but if you remember KukkieI have an issue with dry cereal ;) I got into the box of frosted flakes (like a little kid) and I honestly don't know how much I ate. I have stopped eating it now but that is beside the point I still ate it and I thought I would be good today since I was home. Oh and my daughter wanted cheddar biscuits so I ate one of those, just not an OP day for me at all, smh. I've only had about 33ozs of water so need to step that up like I recommended for gurlnextgen. Oh and after my weigh in this morning I got back in the bed and slept another 2 hours, woke up to 168.8 but I didn't record that I recorded the earlier weigh in :)

ok it's early so I'll probably be back later

akelly did ya'll get more snow down there? Hope you are doing well.

Sam I hope you are doing well  check in please :)

02-13-2014, 06:32 PM
gurlnextgen - I always find I do better when I workout. It makes me feel better physically, but then mentally it always motivates me to eat better because I don't want to undo all the hard work!

So true :)

02-13-2014, 08:32 PM
love2b150 ~ Im sorry to hear your stressed. So Im a little confused you said in your post you have been in a funk about your new job and then you also said you need to find something soon so I was just confused about your post.

I got one of my walks in today and I'll walk two more times before bed tonight.

02-13-2014, 09:07 PM
LOL Terra, I started the training for the job on 12/30. We finished up last Friday and started on the telephones at a call center on Monday and it is a boatload of information, switching from system to system with a ton of note taking. We are not allowed to place the person on hold for longer than 30 seconds and we have a button called after call work that keeps other calls from coming through but we are not to use it. So you must do everything while you are on the phone (making small talk to keep the person on the call to not have dead air time). It has to do with insurance/medical care. So since I am feeling overwhelmed by it all I need to move on. So yes it is a new job but I must find another place to work that is less stressful on me soon. Is that better clarification? :) Good job on your walk :high:

02-13-2014, 10:38 PM
Rennie - Thanks for your support -- I really appreciate it.

Okay, tough week mentally and physically and today was last day -- woo hoo!! I get to go home tomorrow and although I will have guests for a week, it will be much easier -- I will have more control. Here's the plan for Friday:

B - 1 oatmeal; 6 oz fruit; 1 cup milk
L - 14 oz salad; 1 tbsp dressing; 4 oz protein
D - 14 oz salad; 1 tbsp dressing; 4 oz protein

02-14-2014, 06:51 AM
Golly, it's got so busy in here !! Had another rough few weeks. Dad is going down hill fast, and there has been some real emotional stuff going on. Am not doing well with food. Full stop. But am exercising still, despite a very painful leg. DD and I went to Dublin last weekend. It's our first visit, and we had fun. We walked about 15miles, and I ate far more than I should, but it was nice to get away from the dad situation.
I am trying to keep my eating in check. I will do better :)
Hi to all the Newbies and The Old girls! Nice to see you back.

02-14-2014, 08:01 AM

Leah, I just re-read your post :) LOL my husband is a foot and three inches taller than me so when walking with him when we use to walk outdoors together I'd have to trot to keep up, it's funny ... now we know how the kids feel if we're in a rush ;)

Sam glad you got to check in  nice to hear you and your daughter got to get away enjoyed Dublin :) Sorry to hear things with your Dad aren't going well  My eating has been more off point at times than on but I'm hoping to get it in gear. We can do it :) at lease you are still exercising. I haven't even been doing that :bravo: to you :)

akelly, hope to hear from you

I ate a ton of carbs yesterday but I got all of my water in. Today I am down .8 to 169. Lots of black ice and icy patches outside now according to the news so I'm going to wait until the sun totally comes up to attempt to leave. I've hit black icy before so I'm terrified of it happening again.

02-14-2014, 02:03 PM
Just  Love2b150- Thanks for being you <3

02-14-2014, 11:08 PM
love2b150 ~ I understand now thanks for clearing it up for me. Thanks for also commenting on my walking.

I walked twice last night but I didnt get any walks in today but I'll do better tomorrow. Im heading to bed now. I hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day and I hope everyone has a nice night.

02-14-2014, 11:21 PM
 Sam

Terra, we can only do what we can ... :)

Well I celebrated Valentine's Day by doubling my calorie intake with junk and starches. I plan to go to the gym tomorrow though so eventhough I'll be up in the morning I'll be down again on Sunday hopefully :)

02-15-2014, 11:45 AM
Frantastic, sorry I didn't respond to your post the other day. I don't know why I didn't respond ... it made me smile just as Sam's did yesterday. When do you weigh in or how often are you gonna weigh in? Do you know what your calorie intake is per day? Are you losing with the calorie intake that you're consuming? Your calories seem really low like mine were and though I loss weight eating low calorie, I hear it's not good for us long term and when we try to add more in we'll probably gain the weight we loss back (I sure hope not) :D. But I was wondering ... Sorry if I asked this before. My husband said I need to take something to help me not be so forgetful :)

ON SUPPORT ... I believe that we are all here for that main reason NO ONE understands what we struggle with daily like we do and to be honest even some of the people on here that believe they are experts aren't as supportive as they should be. I treat others as I want to be treated. I will build you up as high as I'd like you to build me. When we fall we need others to help us dust off and get up again. It makes us want to do better and try again ... I know with me it has sometimes taken days, weeks and even months to get back on the wagon again but I always come back here. And if I can't find a thread that suits me I start my own :) I will support EACH of you as best I can ... I truly care about my 3FC family

With that said, akelly, Leah, skinnyki, ushotmedown, WahineByTheSea how are you all doing?

How was Valentine's Day? Did ya'll overdo the junk like me? ;)

Well I got 9 hours of sleep and woke up to 169.6. I will definitely take it. I thought sure I would wake up to 172 even though I didn't feel bloated I thought the carbs alone would do me in. I wanted to go to the gym but don't feel like dealing with the ice and the rain so since I technically don't have to go out I won't :) I am planning on a very low carb day today though so I should be fine :crossed: it should balance out my mess from yesterday :)

Well I hope you all have a nice Saturday and remember to smile through it all

02-15-2014, 01:49 PM
Rennie ~ Yeah thats true we can only do what we can do

Im about to walk for the 1st time today. Im excited to walk today and listen to my music.

02-15-2014, 08:38 PM
Terra, do you walk outside or on the treadmill? I miss having my treadmill in the house :(

02-16-2014, 05:30 AM
Hello everyone, some fab losses yay!

I stayed the same this morning on the scale. It suggested a 1.5lb loss for a second but wouldn't let me have it.

Rebelle - thanks for your inspiring words. This is the exact thing that usually makes me weep then give up. I need to just doing my thing but maybe a bit better.

I am pleased that I am now working out 25-30mins 5 days a week and walking 40 - 60mins 5 days a week too. That from no exercise and always using public transport is a big change.

A while ago I went to the hospital for my PCOS and the medical student there said I need to starve myself to lose weight because of my hormones. I was horrified and am praying that is not true.

Does anyone count cals? I use My Fitness Pal and sometimes eat some cals I earn through exercise. Perhaps I shouldn't be doing that and stick to the same cals per day no matter what?

02-16-2014, 04:31 PM
Hi Angel, :welcome:, rebelle isn't on this thread ... great person, always encouraging. :) You are welcome to stay here, we'd be glad to have you. :) I use MFP also and I rarely if ever eat my exercise calories back. I was told that you should otherwise your calories may be too low and it will slow your metabolism.

today's weigh in 1.2 down to 168.4, shocked to see it but very happy all the same. Hoping to continue this trend :crossed:\

02-16-2014, 09:39 PM
Rennie ~ I walk outside when the weather is nice but when its not I walk inside, I walk from the front room to the kitchen and back to the front room back and fourth for 45 mins. Its quite a distance

Angel ~ Welcome to the thread, I hope you like it here

I know I usually dont walk on Sunday's but Im gonna walk at least one time today before bed.

02-17-2014, 10:29 PM
Terra, our old how was like that pretty big ... good for you :)

I was up .4 this morning to 168.4 but I only got 6 hours of sleep. I believe had I slept 3 more hours I would have seen 167 for sure :)

02-17-2014, 11:17 PM
Rennie ~ Thats cool that your old house was pretty big.

I havent walked yet today but Im gonna walk at least one time before bed and bed is gonna come pretty soon cause I have to get up at 7 am cause I have an appt I have to go to,I need to be there at 8 am.

02-17-2014, 11:43 PM
Hi everyone. While I'm participating in some date-specific challenges, I think it will be nice to have something laid back to also update on...Like having a blog, except that people will actually read this. lol :p

I've just started counting calories again, which I haven't been doing. Going off of intuition wasn't enough, I was losing touch with what I was really putting into my body. It's great, I actually feel like I am in control and have already seen some very quick results from it.

On top of calorie counting, I've also been going water only for 4 days now, and already I've been tempted to reach for the soda. 3 times! And every time I've turned it down for water! And you know what? Not a single time did I regret that decision. I have to break the mental habit of craving a pop when water satisfies me JUST the same without ruining my health.

I guess right now what I'm learning is that I feel so much better when I'm not shoving my face full of crap. I think I've restricted myself too much in the past leading to binges, so I'm going to try and avoid that this time around. I need to keep in mind that if I'm not forming habits that I can maintain for the rest of my life, then I'm just going to bounce right back and I'll have wasted all of my time.

Hope everything is going smoothly, as smoothly as it can when it comes to this stuff. Keep working hard! :) Skin season is right around the corner....

02-18-2014, 10:46 AM
Morning ladies. I fluctuated all weekend. Back at 196.6 this morning. TOM is also in town and kicking my butt. For the mommas in the group, did you find your TOM got worse after having a baby? Just curious. I feel like mine did. I'm back on the pill, but even so, I used to have a pretty steady flow, and now it seems like I get two incredibly heavy days and then a few really light days and then bye bye. I don't like it.

02-19-2014, 02:22 PM
Where is everyone?! I'm still at 196.6 this morning, but I've done good with my water. One full litre already done! Working on the second one now.

02-19-2014, 05:18 PM
Hey everyone. Finally managed to weigh on my scales this morning and I was at 245.8! Which meant a total loss of 9lbs since I last weighed in :D

I'm pretty pleased with that.
Considering while I was away I had to turn down: 2 chinese takeaway offers, 1 pizza takeaway offer and 5 home cooked meal offers. That was pretty much all my willpower used up for this month :P

I should hopefully be on target for being 238 by the end of feb.

I hope everyone else is doing great

02-19-2014, 06:00 PM
With that said, akelly, Leah, skinnyki, ushotmedown, WahineByTheSea how are you all doing?

How was Valentine's Day? Did ya'll overdo the junk like me? ;)

Yup . . . it was a bake sale inspired catastrophe :)

Why does everything taste better on a diet?!

02-19-2014, 11:55 PM
I don't know what happened I posted right after xRiotGirl did and it completely disappeared, smh ...

xRiotGirl, :welcome: to the thread :) I have another thread that I have had since 2011 (I think) ... that I update at the end of every month so it's like my blog. :) I count calories and I am trying to low carb, along with getting my water in daily. Best of luck with your goals. We are glad to have you join us :)

Kukkie my cycles have been like that this pass year but I thought it was age :) because sometimes I miss a month or have a 3 day ... I just hope that means it's about to go away forever :crossed: Good job on getting your water in :high: ... I am so trying ;)

ushotmedown good job on fighting all of that temptation :high:

WahineByTheSea good to see you and I just think we want more things and we think they'll better because sometimes you'll get them and find that that just isn't what you wanted after all. ;) But I had some really good cupcakes and cookies for Valentine's day, not a good idea at all :)

akelly, Leah, Sam hope all is well

I tried some noodles today called Pasta Zero Plus, Shirataki Spaghetti. It has only15 calories and 4 carbs per serving and only two servings in the bag. I am pleased. They come in a bag of water and smell really fishy until you rinse them off (at least I thought so) until the boys came downstairs looking for fish :D. But they didn't taste like fish so I was pleased :) I will definitely buy them again. Now to find something in the form of rice like that low in carbs ;)

Weight is going back and forth between 168.4 & 168.8 can't win here, smh ... I'm going to have to hit the gym hard in order to make the scale move :)

02-20-2014, 08:27 AM
love2b150 apparently grated cauliflower is meant to be a rice type substitute. I haven't tried it myself so I'm not sure how well it would work.

I weighed in at 244.4 which means a loss of 1.4 putting me at a total loss of 40.6lbs so far :D

02-20-2014, 11:20 AM
ushotmedown, I used cauliflower in the place of the macaroni for my mac in cheese, it actually tasted more like au gratin and in the place of potatoes for my potato salad which was very good :) Now that you said it for rice I do remember hearing that. It just seems like a lot of work in preparing them but I guess I have to give it a shot, huh.

Kukkie my baby is 21 today. I still can't believe it. :)

My weight isn't budging ... still the same, big sigh

02-20-2014, 11:57 AM
Morning y'all. Busy day at work. Still stuck at 196.6 but TOM is gone.

Rennie ohh my goodness!!!!!!!!!! Time flies! to you momma

02-20-2014, 01:55 PM
Thanks Kukkie, you and I have to figure out what we need to do to drop a few pounds. That should kick start us in the right direction :) but how? I know I need to work on getting my water in 84.5ozs a day ... huh now that I've done the math I do get my water in everyday. May I just need to spread it out during the course of the day. I also need to work on snacking and keeping the carbs out of my mouth <--- call this my confession :D and as usual Kukkie thanks for listening :)

02-21-2014, 07:47 AM
Yay! Down a pound! :carrot:

It's a little sad how hard one has to work to lose each pound, especially considering how easy it was to pack them on :)

02-21-2014, 09:01 AM

LOL WahineByTheSea, that's the truth :) Good job on the pound down :high:

Had dinner with my 21 year old and her hubby at Chili's I'm up a pound :)

02-21-2014, 10:37 AM
Lnoelparis ~ I just re-read all of the posts and noticed you had said congrats on me loosing 8 pounds, Im sorry I never replied back to your message. Thanks for commenting on my weight loss. It was a nice surprise.

I walked last night and Im gonna do my best to walk this morning and then walk again later on tonight before bed, I would walk at 2:30 pm today but we have to go somewhere at that time so I wont be getting my 3 walks in today but at least I'll get 2 in.

02-21-2014, 01:17 PM
Terra1984 I may have missed it.. How long do you walk each time ?

02-22-2014, 06:59 PM
OK my fellow CHICKIE'S where are you all ... youuuuuuwhoooo :(

If you don't know you should ;) I look for you all ... I'm slipping and sinking quickly.

Hi tlr :welcome: to 3FC :)

... ok I am up 2.2lbs since my daughters birthday. I had a feast with Honey Combs today ... not good. I am going to use that as an early dinner since my carbs are at 204. I don't expect the scale to go down tomorrow since I have already messed up today. But I will pray and hope that I can get this eating disorder in check before it goes too far.

02-22-2014, 07:35 PM

I don't know what works for you, but when I've had a bad day (otherwise known as a "What Toblerone? I didn't see your Toblerone!" day) this is what I do:

1) Go to bed early (get the bad day over as soon as possible)
2) Promise to do better tomorrow
3) Get up with a clean slate - no beating myself up about yesterday!

Number 3 is the most important! No feeling bad and no giving up! Keep trying!

And in case you don't know what a Toblerone is, it's a devilish concoction of about 14 oz of chocolate!
The Swiss are evil :) . . . .

02-22-2014, 07:51 PM
Hi WahineByTheSea ... I've never had it but know people like you that love love love it ;) ... I've actually had a few bad days and the sad thing is I have gotten up everyday and said I was going to do better only to screw up, smh. I'm the type of person that if I go to bed early I wake up early after 7.5 hours of sleep sometimes 6.5 I am totally refreshed so I have to wait to go to bed :). I need to do my daughters hair so that will take some time and I definitely don't plan to eat anything else this evening. I am going to go back through MFP and look up what I ate my first two weeks of January and see if I can kick start myself back to the right track yet again :) Thanks for responding, I appreciate it

02-23-2014, 07:34 AM
Hang in there! Don't give up!

02-23-2014, 10:36 AM
Finally! Some movement. Down 0.6 to 196.0.

Rennie - curious, do you still keep your journal outside of MFP? You had a really good downward trend when you were doing that.

02-23-2014, 01:12 PM
tlr ~ I walk for 45 mins each time

I woke up at 10 am this morning to start my day. Right now Im drinking a nasty Coca-Cola to wake up, I really wish I had my regular Cherry Coke Zero but oh well, I'll have more at 2 pm when my mom gets home, She's going to Dillions on her way home from work today but anyway since its Sunday Im not gonna walk today but I'll start walking again tomorrow. I did walk last night though so that was good. I just plan to relax today though. My plans for this week is Tuesday I have an appointment to go too and when we're gonna go to Walmart and we're also gonna go to the tag office and Wal-Greens as well, Not in any order though. At 2 or 3 pm We're gonna go to a sit down restaurant just like every week and then we'll come home for the day. Wed. My boyfriend's parents are coming to our city for an appointment and then my boyfriend and I are gonna go out to dinner with them. Thursday Im gonna go to my peer support meeting and thats all my plans for this week. I hope everyone has an awesome day.

02-23-2014, 02:47 PM
Happy Sunday to ALL

WahineByTheSea, I'm hoping that I can get it together ... I can't say I won't give up because I honesty don't know why I just stopped what I was doing all of the times I fell off the wagon before. I will say that I drank some Smooth Moves tea last night because it had been awhile since I had a BM (sorry if TMI) but I also wanted to get all of the crap out of my that I had put in it his pass week and I am down the 2.2 that I was up.

Kukkie good job on the . down :high:, LOL, it's funny that you happen to be back and I drank the tea last night :) I remember your warning about it so I hadn't had it in a long while :) ... and you remember my notebook on the counter  No I don't journal like I use to. I just plug it into MFP and keep the tab open on the computer so I can get up and look at it first thing. When I'm working (I am currently unemployed) I take my lunch and snack with me which helps a bunch. So far my breakfast and lunch have been on point. I have a smoothie planned for snack and spaghetti made with Shirataki noodles for dinner. I have drank 20oz of water have 65oz to go.

Terra I hope you have an awesome day also :) How much water do you drink?

akelly, Leah, Sam, ushotmedown and all that I missed ... it's time to check in

Well I'm doing ok so far and I hope the day ends with a grade of at least 95% :crossed: hoping the same for all of you

02-24-2014, 11:17 AM
Rennie ~ I fill up a 24oz water glass with water twice a day.

Im gonna walk twice today, Once at 2:30 pm and then I'll walk again before bed.

02-24-2014, 12:55 PM
Everythings still looking up right now. Of course, I'm only about a week and a half in! I've stopped craving junk food and pop altogether now. I'm sure the cravings will be back, but for now this really alleviates some of the pain and pressure of revamping my diet.

I'm excited to start a new weight loss challenge amongst my siblings :D I actually took my inspiration from the 2% Body Wright Challenge (http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/chicks-up-challenge/292651-2-body-weight-challenge-23-a.html), except we are doing it a little differently, obviously. We will just be weighing in together every 2 weeks to see who has lost the highest % and the winner will be treated. We're using the incentive to see each other as our momentum..we all have crazy schedules and its hard enough to get together let alone work out together, but now we HAVE to get together and we HAVE to have something to show for the past two weeks when we weigh in! It's kind of perfect. We only did our first weigh in Saturday, so time will tell how this holds up :)

02-24-2014, 05:46 PM
Terra it's been said that you are supposed to consume 1/2 your body weight in water daily. I'm sure there are threads on here with regards to it :) It definitely does help with weight loss and flushing out the sodium and with you walking for 45 minutes 2 to 3 times a day you should definitely be drinking more water. ;) Good for you on your walks :high: I really need to get back to doing that also :)

xRiotGirl, good for you on cutting out the pop :cheer: Nice that you'll be doing this with your siblings. I wish I had a partner here. But that's why I love 3FC because there is usually someone to share my ups and downs with. :)

I have consumed all I plan to eat today. I had some unplanned chips but they are logged in MFP. I am on bottle number 4 of 5 of my 16.9oz each though I had a 20oz bottle earlier this morning before 6:30am. So I got my water in. I sure hope it helps :crossed:

02-24-2014, 10:10 PM
Rennie ~ I did not know that, Thanks for the info

02-25-2014, 08:18 AM
Terra :)

TTOM is finally here, I have spotted for a week, smh. Weight is up .4 today will be a good day with eating and water :)

02-25-2014, 01:13 PM
I weighed in today at 243.2 today :D
I've been put on new meds so that might cause some weight gain but so far there has been none I can see.

02-25-2014, 01:26 PM
ushotmedown, that's 42lbs GONE :carrot: what a victory :) Hopefully the new meds won't cause anything to change :crossed:

02-25-2014, 02:38 PM
Up 0.3 to 196.3. So effing tired. Peanut barely slept last night, which means I barely slept last night.

02-25-2014, 03:05 PM
I have returned! Ugh, what a crazy month. I got sent off to Europe for work for 3 weeks. Did not stop until I got home on Sunday. Now I'm back to a "normal" routine where I travel M-Th and can purchase food from a grocery store, heat my own stuff at hotels, get back into my routine, etc. Whew. I did weigh in - I am up 2 pounds from Feb 7 which was my last weigh in. Not bad considering I had to eat off plan a lot - I stayed away from a lot of the desserts, etc. I did not get any workouts in as it was cold and the places we went did not have workout facilities. Oh well. Going to get back on track this week and go into March on plan and running :)

Rennie, I saw you called my name there...I kept telling myself Rennie probably thinks you went off track. Tried to access 3FC one day and could not connect (not the greatest internet connections since we were traveling and in rural areas). I started my new project in Dallas yesterday so I am up and running with good connections and normal food from Kroger :)

02-25-2014, 06:23 PM
Today I havent got any walking in because we've been running errands since 7:15 am this morning but I'll be sure to walk tonight before bed. We didnt get done with errands until 3:00 pm this afternoon.

02-25-2014, 07:00 PM
Kukkie I do remember those days all too well  hope he sleeps better tonight so that you can get some rest. :crossed: And you know that is probably the reason for the up

akelly, glad you are back  glad you maintained during travel, way to go :) I love Kroger. We didn't have them up north and when we'd come down here I'd always shop there. Now I have to drive a bit to get to one but it's so worth it :) Glad you're back

Terra depending on how much walking you did on your errands you may be good. I think you need a pedometer for your errands, that's almost 8 hours :)

02-25-2014, 11:30 PM
Rennie ~ Yeah I probably do need a pedometer, I think I'll get one next Tuesday, Are all of them for your wrist or arm?

02-26-2014, 07:57 AM
Terra I think most of them hook to your waist but you will want to google to find one that is accurate. The fitbit is the best so I'e heard because it measures your activity including sleep patterns it's a little pricy but worth it from what I have heard.

Ok my stomach was a little rumbly yesterday with TOM. My calories were very low yesterday but I will make that up today. It gave me a victory on the scale this morning however, it will be back to normal tomorrow I'm sure. New (temporary low 166.2)

02-26-2014, 09:22 AM
Morning ladies. I'm feeling a little less zombie-like and a little more like myself today. We had an okay night, not the greatest, but a definite improvement over the previous night. Still stuck at 196.3 with the goal of getting ALL of my water in today. I really need to get that going.

Today also marks one month until I move. Ahhh, so much to do!

02-26-2014, 11:20 AM
Rennie ~ Oh okay I'll be sure to get that one, Thanks for answering my question

I dont have time to walk this morning but I'll walk at 2:30 pm and again tonight before bed.

02-26-2014, 11:47 AM
Kukkie glad you're a little more rested  You may want to lower or up your calories for a day or two and see if you can get things moving again. Honestly from my experience it you can do two days with no carbs or low carb with more protein you will definitely see the scale move. No bread, rice, pasta, snacks, potatoes, soda the scale will move. Just be careful when you add them back. :)

Terra do google pedometers to see which ones you like. I heard amazon is the place to look :)

Ugh. I caught my sister's cold. So depending on when it decides to lighten up, I might not be working out for a couple days. I also am trying really hard not to eat all of the crap I want to eat because it will soothe my throat.

xRG, feel better and drink some hot tea ... don't let that food temp you

Rennie ~ Can I get this one http://www.amazon.com/Pedusa-Tri-Axis-Multi-Function-Pedometer-Holster/dp/B009XID840/ref=sr_1_13?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1393468752&sr=1-13&keywords=fitbit By the way Im dont like plain water so drinking 24oz twice is alot for me so I think Im doing good.

I walked after we got home from dinner but I still have 21 mins left to do which I will do before bed. I'll be sure to walk 2 times Friday when Im homefor the day if not 3 times that day but my younger brother and his girlfriend and their child are moving in tomorrow so Im not sure how many walks I can get in because my younger brother and his girlfriend like watching t.v but maybe they'll be able to get t.v downstairs where they will be staying so that way I can still walk when I need too. Im not saying they have to always stay down stairs but that's where they're stuff is gonna be at but if they spend most of their time upstairs thats okay too, It is gonna start getting nicer outside so I'll just go outside more and walk, That way I can still do my walks no matter what.

Terra, I'd just check the reviews on the pedometer that you choose :) On the water ... you do what you can do, what works for you. I use to drink so much soda it was crazy but now I prefer water and the benefits are great, but that's just me :) I'm sure you will figure out your walks, enjoy your family :)

Rennie, congrats on the new low! That's awesome! I am going to start weighing again on Saturday (start of the month). I know I'm higher than I was at the end of January but with this crazy month, I'm just glad to be back and getting on plan.

xRiot, Hope you feel better soon!

Terra, let me know what you choose. I have a friend who has done well with the Fit Bit so I'm interested to see what else is out there to compare.

Kukkie, good job on the water! Man, moving in a month? Is it a long distance move? You stay so busy girl!

ushotmedown, glad the new meds aren't affecting you!

As for me, I have been eating on plan fairly well this week. There was one night I had pizza (Monday night) but that was due to low energy, exhausted, and no will power. The rest of the days I ate yogurt/soup/sandwich so it could have been healthier, but I'm working on 100% on plan/exercise next week!

02-27-2014, 01:00 PM
Rennie ~ Oh okay I will be sure to check the reviews. I will enjoy more time with my family.

akelly728 ~ Hi, I havent seen you name on this thread before so Im guessing your new and if thats true Welcome 2 the thread and the forum. I will definitely tell you how I like the Fit Bit.

I'll only get one walk in today and that will be this evening but I'll be sure to walk 2 times tomorrow when Im home for the day if not 3 times that day

02-27-2014, 05:05 PM
Thanks akelly it's funny to hear the busiest, traveling-est :D person I know say someone is busy. Oh my, I don't know how you do it :dizzy: I told you years ago and I'll tell you now ... my hat is off to you for even staying close to on point. I'm happy for you when I hear you are getting to spend some time at home  I think I could have done better this month than I did. I loss focus more than I had it. I am so trying to keep the faith and not allow life to tear me down but I will admit some days the thought is just a thought because it is surely not done :) We will commit to next month and we will make it through with a loss. I'm gonna aim for 1.5 per week and say no carbs again like I did in January :crossed: that I can do it and :dust: to get and keep focus :) ALL IN?????? oh and I can't forget the water :)

Terra I'm recommending that you read the reviews because I have had several pedometers that clipped to your waist and they give inaccurate results. They pick up steps that you haven't taken and that defeats the purpose. Those pedometers also have not cost me a lot of money either.

I was up today to 166.6 only .4 up from yesterday. I stayed up watching television with my husband last night for a bit after he got home and I've been tired all day. I have to get up at 5:30am with the boys so getting only 5 hours of sleep is horrible in my opinion. I will do better today for sure :)

02-27-2014, 06:58 PM
@Terra I'm with Rennie on this one, gotta check the reviews! I had the same experience with a pedometer; mine told me I was talking some 15k steps a day without even trying. Like Rennie said, totally pointless when it's not accurate, so be choosy!

@akelly - I never regret good pizza! hehe :p

Thanks for the well wishes guys. :)

02-27-2014, 07:43 PM
Rennie ~ So the more expensive ones are more accurate?

xRiotGirl ~ I'll be sure to read the reviews thanks for the advice

02-27-2014, 11:04 PM
xRG, good to see you :) How are you feeling?

Terra, I don't know which ones are more accurate since I have never spent the money on a good quality pedometer. I do plan to treat myself to a fitbit hopefully by my birthday in April. I wanted one for Christmas but didn't have the 100.00 to spend on it. I am very interested in the sleep feature since I know for a fact that if I don't get a certain amount of sleep my weight is off and inaccurate so I do need to get 7-8 hours of sleep. With that said its shower and bedtime :)

oh I got to the gym did almost 4 miles and I am happy with me. My calories were very high today and not for a good reason so :crossed: for a good end of the month weigh in tomorrow ... oh and I need to get the March thread up ... will post the link in a few :)

02-27-2014, 11:10 PM
Ok here's the new March thread link :)

02-28-2014, 07:43 AM
I'm ending February with a 2.2lbs loss for the month, not what I wanted but better than nothing or a gain :)

Hope to have a lower number in the morning to start March off right :)

the new thread is up :)

02-28-2014, 08:20 AM
Ending February with a 14.2lb loss this month.
Putting me 1.6lbs away from this month's target

02-28-2014, 10:20 AM
Rennie ~ I checked the reviews and most of them were good. Will this thread be closed after today? Just curious.

02-28-2014, 10:30 AM
ushotmedown, :cheer: that is fantastic, way to go keep up the good work :high:

Terra yes, I'll close this one sometime tomorrow ... we will start March out with a bang ;)

02-28-2014, 10:33 AM
So, 196.3 for me, which means I ended up with a 0.2 loss. I'm not happy about it, but I'm not upset about it either, because I was sure I had gained. March will be better.

02-28-2014, 10:49 AM
