I am using yesterdays' number (if that is okay) since I did not weigh today. I had a lot of sodium for dinner. I did not want to post a higher number and then have a sudden whoosh down. lol

I’ll share here a most amazing moment – I’ve been wondering when anyone around me would notice my weight loss and say something. I’ve lost a good chunk of weight since September, and other than my husband saying something after I’ve prompted him, radio silence. Not a huge surprise or problem for me – it’s tricky for people to comment on someone’s appearance, I rarely do too. So I’ve been waiting with curiosity, not impatience.

This morning my toddler started the day :

Oscar (2 1/2) : “mama getting little?”

Mama : “no, mama is big. You are little.”

Oscar : “mamas belly is getting little.” (Yes, mama is apple-shaped!)

Mama : “oh, that’s so nice of you to say! What a nice boy to say that!”

Oscar : “papas belly still big”

Mama : (laughs, despite herself)

For what it’s worth, my husband weighs considerably less than me, but he does have a beer belly (except he’s French and it’s a foie gras, wine & cheese belly)

I’ve been floating around on this all morning!

Count me in. I weighed this am and I am at 254. I am excited because I have trouble getting into ketosis enough to lose weight. I am keeping track of everything and I eat 2 cups lettuce and 1/2 cup of celery/cucumber a day, so minimal 5 carbs and 113 grams of protein and 130 grams of fat to bring my calories up to RDA level. I should be losing weight but the scale has not moved in 2 weeks. Yesterday I cut my protein down to 60 grams which was what I was "supposed" to get at least when I had the lap band. So I am excited to see if this makes the scales move.

Hi Janie, welcome! I have been losing fairly consistently but need to keep protein limited to around 65 grams. Apparently our bodies, marvelous and sneaky, convert excess protein into glucose, and that holds some people back (women over 40 in particular).

Wasn't hard to exercise today as I weighed in at 174! I went back over my food and figure it is the 2 days of blood pressure medication I missed because I forgot it at home!! So I'm calling it water retention....I feel like missing my blood pressure meds is worse than if I had eaten off plan!! Happy Friday!!

174 again today and I can only blame myself - I broke my own rule and ate nuts after 7pm. I was never a night time eater but I made a rule not to eat after dinner.....I need to tighten up my game and get moving!!

Well my Guardian Whoosh Fairy has visited me again. I noticed I peed alot yesterday... and weirdness this week... I am getting "warm" flashes; not Hot Flashes thank God.. but warm (no sweating) that lasts 5 minutes or so, every few hours.. strange... Hormones UNLOCKED OH OH !! :lol:

LULU... oh shoot.. try some lemon water or hot tea with lemon.... That might help move the water along :hug:

Sarah- I am so happy for you that you are still going down after the fast!

I am down to 203 this has been a slow week but I knew that would happen so I am just hoping for a better 4th week. I am still on induction and think I will say here until I am down closer to my non obese weight. Then start adding in the carbs slowly. Then again I may need to have some change so we shall see what this week brings lol.

Sue, I'm now pacing with you on those small -0.2 losses (that add up!)

Brooklyn, I had decent losses weeks 1 & 2, then very slow for 3 & 4, and faster again week 5. Hang in there, the slowing down is normal, and from here on out you should probably adjust your expectations to the more usual pound or two a week... After a week or two of flat weights which is pretty normal.

I am not sure of my weight. Avoiding the scale. I went to the doctor for some irregular bleeding and turns out my body is not absorbing the birth control like it should. So we are making some changes to my prescription and for now I get to have an unexpected time of the month. :(

The cravings and cramping have been more extreme then normal so I caved had some cake over the weekend. Sigh...back on plan today so hopefully by end of week I will be back to normal.

I was actually a little relieved to see some stability come in now, the weight continuing to drop a few days after the fat fast didn't make sense to me - I've been eating my "normal" since Saturday...

I am posting to keep honest.. but very sad and upset with myself.. but I had a trigger hit me last night. Sad and destressing trigger.. so found the frozen cookies... :( and justified them... Need to look to something else to satisfy that sad, destressed and upset whole in the heart...

We've all been there, done that. It's hard, you're mad at yourself. But now you need to forgive yourself and turn the page.

Can we brainstorm with you some other actions you could take to similar triggers?

I've had success with hot tea, lemon water or hot bouillon.

Going for a walk? Dancing like a fool in your living room? Punching the couch?

What ideas do you have, Sue?

:hug: Sue I am sorry you had that feeling. I know it gets us all, but I want you to know that you are an awesome lady and you help us all so much with your positivity and dedication.

And I think Sarah had some great suggestions. Sometimes you need a physical release for the strong emotions. Maybe a mini "tantrum" could help? Just stand in a room by yourself and shake your fists and head (not to rough, lol) and do one of those Charlie Brown "Arrgh!" Throw in a little foot stomp for good measure.

Hello all... I am just having alittle get heart and head back into gear (and I will as I know I can)... but I had just found out Monday night that a man, who I had always had a crush on, is dying of Pancreatic Cancer. He is one of the reasons I kinda stay on this journey (we all have multi reasons) as I had hoped to have the confidence to finally let him know that I was and had been for years, interested in him. I am going to let him know in a small way that I do - to let him know someone else cares (more then he knew). But that is why I had a mental and soul breakdown. I thank you all for your wonderful and warm hugs (I can feel them inside - truly). I will be back shortly. Just need to work things out - and as I type this.. I already know that I need to take care of myself - even more so, but I also need to let another human being know that he is special and I have to not be afraid to say something. I WILL be back really soon... I will!

Sue - what a sad event, I understand why you struggled recently. Definitely do tell him your feelings - regret for the unsaid weighs heavily on us, and knowing he had that appeal for you might help make his journey through this terrible disease a little lighter. (( hugs ))
