I just returned from a family vacation to Disney World and the trip was one big long NSV. I was able to keep up with my children and grandchildren. I carried my youngest grandchild when needed. I could stand in line without my feet killing me. I walked miles a day. My knees did not kill me but I did have cortisone injections to help them. Fitting in rides......... no problem. When I saw that many of the slow moving rides did not even stop for you to get on, I was apprehensive but managed it fine.

Actually, I held up better than my husband did. He had to return to our room to rest while I continued on with the children. That is a real role reversal for us and he has decided to exercise more.:)

When I looked at the pictures that were taken, one thing really struck me. I look normal. No one there would have pointed at me because of my size.

My life is richer because of my weight loss and improved physical fitness. I was morbidly obese for 30+ years and I missed out on much because of that. No more! There is no food worth losing this ability. Being morbidly obese was a disability for me. When I am tempted to go back to my old eating habits. I want to read this post and remember the difference.

What a GREAT, uplifting note. Major kudos to you for working so hard, and being able to relish in the results. Great idea to save the post and revisit when tempted by something that the "new you" doesn't need.

Thank you so much for sharing. My family goes to Disney every-other year. The first time I was about 220 lbs...the last time 152. I have put on some weight since then, but we have a trip scheduled for May and I am determined to be even less than 152. I can just picture all of the fun you guys had, and I know from experience how much more enjoyable it is when you are thinner. Congrats to you!!!

FANTASTIC.

A trip to Disney was some of my motivation for losing the weight. I wanted to be below 200 when I went, and I was, so I know exactly how you feel.

Well done indeed.

Last night, I was doing a "woe is me." Calorie restriction can be very difficult, and I was feeling sorry for myself. This here is the cure for all that self-pity. Thank you so much for posting it!

Congrats! One of the things I'm looking forward to is more energy and less of me to squeeze into places like amusement park rides and airline seats.

On a similar note, there was a ride called "Forbidden Journey" at the Harry Potter Park in Orlando, Florida that originally couldn't seat people past a certain weight. One guy made that his goal and met it! banksleethethreeclicks.blogspot.com

Since then they've modified some of the seats. When I rode "Forbidden Journey" I had to sit in a "modified seat". It will be nice not having that problem next time I visit there!
