Hey everyone! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and there was not too much damage done over the holidays. I want to reach my goals by the end of 2014.

I’m wondering would anyone like to join me in a yearly challenge? Now, don't panic at the thoughts of going into this from January 1st to December 31st! For me, it would be near impossible to stay focused for a full year so I have decided to split the year into 8 challenges or 8 mini targets to reach. Each challenge represents a time during the year.

Challenge 1: New Years Day to Valentine’s Day (January 1st to February 14th)

Challenge 6: Labor Day to Columbus Day (September 1st to October 13th)
Challenge 7: Columbus Day until Thanksgiving Day (October 13th to November 27th)
Challenge 8: Thanksgiving Day to New Years Eve (November 27th to December 31st)

Weigh in days for challenges will be once a week. I weigh in on Friday, you may edit your post with your weigh in date.

I will post a new thread for each new challenge as they approach. This means the thread will not get super duper long by end of the year. Also, anyone can jump in at any point in the year!

I so missed doing these challenges while pregnant! :preg: I'm currently 3 weeks postpartum and this seems like an excellent way to start the new year. :) I'm adjusting all dates to coincide with my Wednesday weigh-ins. My goal is to hit an average of a one pound loss per week, which would take me down to 214 for 2/14!. :carrot:

notes: w00t! I was extra vigilant with my eating this week and I think it paid off, especially since TOM started today.I'm anxious to see the doctor next week to see if I can get back to working out.

notes: I hope I can keep this rate up! I can start on more exercise now but I need to get a schedule figured out.

01/29/2014 goal: 216
Actual weight: 215.5
notes: Not bad, considering that I'd had a huge burger the night before weigh-in.

notes: I'm up three pounds, likely due to two indulgent days this past week, especially the night before weigh-in! I'm going to do my best to make up for it this coming week.

02/12/2014 goal: 214
Actual weight: 212.5
notes: Wow, 6 pounds this week! I'll take it, lol. I'm pretty sure my gain last week was mostly water weight, so dropping that was a huge boost. I've also lowered my calories for both breakfast and lunch so I'm sure that's helped as well.

I'm in! At this time my goal is to lose my holiday weight and get back down to my lowest weight of 218. If it turns out that most of the weight is water weight that's quickly lost I might adjust my goal mid-challenge.

Sounds like a plan. I am wanting to lose 20lbs by 2/14. I know it is a big goal but that I always lose a bunch when I first start exercising again and I haven't been doing anything in a long time. Valentines Goal - 287

I would like to join. I love that you divided the year up into 6 challenges already. I am a 42 yr. old nurse and mom to a DS 11 and a DD 9. My husband and I will be married 19 years this year May 19 and I would love to be at my marriage weight of 185lbs by then. I started last year at 253.2 lbs. I did make it down to 199lbs but ended up having a rough last few months of the year and my exercise fell off the wagon and the food control went with it. So I ended the year with a gain up to 216.4. I would like to end 2014 below 165lbs. New years day weigh in 213.4 so that would be I need to lose 48lbs by the end of the year. I will set the goal for Valentines day at 205lbs. I would be ecstatic if I will be at 200lbs or below by Valentines. If I make it down to below 200lbs I can get my Alex and Ani Bracelets back which is what I give myself for each time I reach a goal. When I get to 200lbs I will restart wearing my bracelets again. I get to go to the spa for a day when I am below 185lbs and will have to come up with a reward for when I hit below 165lbs.

Im nervous for my weigh in tomorrow. Our scale needed a new battery, so hubby got one last night. I got on the scale this morning and im up 2 lbs *sigh* Oh well.. I just hope it's a good loss tomorrow.

I would love to join. My original goal was ONEDERLAND by Christmas, but I had a rough Christmas season: my dad died a few weeks before Christmas, and then my husband and I stayed with his family over the holidays. That's always stressful for me because I don't have much control over my food, and I get anxious about all the holiday parties (I'm fairly introverted!). But while I didn't make it to ONEDERLAND, I did manage to lose 3 pounds, and not gain.

Hi guys sorry I was belated posting. I was a lump all Sunday and should have gone online. I was busy Friday and by the time I got home to log on I passed out. Slight loss for the week. Hoping this week will be more on target. I am going to push myself for 2 workouts a day. At least 45 minutes for one and 30 minutes for the other. Off today so going to play with my son's xbox 360 fitness trainer and zumba workouts. That's after I take the dog to the vets and run a few errands. Going to head out for a 30 minute walk this morning before bringing him to the vets. Brrr it was 12 degrees when I dropped the kids off.

Hope it gets better for ya! :hug: I was diagnosed with postpartum depression this past week. :( I started taking Zoloft and am hoping it won't interfere with my weight loss efforts! I'm being pretty diligent with my eating but haven't gotten back into exercise like I've been wanting. I weigh in tomorrow night and am hoping for at least a small loss. :^:

Aw, thank you! :hug: I do seem to be in good hands; hubby and MIL help out a lot, and I start seeing a therapist next week.

TOM munchies on top of a new diet? Bad combination! But I'm sure you'll get things balanced out before you know it. :)

I started the week slow as a slug on Sunday. Scale is moving the right direction so far. Which makes up for the fact that I might actually lose weight by Friday from what I started at in January 1st. Hang in there. Don't forget to breathe.

I hear ya, sluggerbean! I actually can't make myself weigh during TOM because I'm one of those "scale people" who get too discouraged if it shows a "bad" number. So I wait until the next week, when I'm virtually guaranteed a good number (especially after not weighing for 2 weeks!). Having said that, it's TOM for me too and no scale til next week!

-but I bet you'll have a great loss next week!

Hope you don't mind if I join even though Valentine's Day is only 9 days away. I've had my own "challenge" to lose a certain amount by Valentine's Day and was not aware there was an official thread for it. I changed the dates to reflect when I actually weighed in, a couple of weeks ago I decided on Sundays for my weigh in day. Here I go!

Challenge 1: New Years Day to Valentine’s Day (January 1st to February 14th)

Valentine's Day Goal Weight: 190 lbs

Start Weight 01/01/2014: 200
1/8/2014: 197
1/19/2014: 195
1/28/2014: 194
2/2/2014: 193
End Weight 02/14/2014:

I have to lose 3 pounds! My last weigh in was on Sunday so it will be 3 pounds in 12 days, let's see if I can do it :)

A week of horrible eating = a one pound gain. So, I most definitely won't make my ONEDERLAND by Valentine's goal, but I *will* make my goal of being back on track! The scale will move next week in the RIGHT direction!

I didn't post in any of these threads when I first started out I just sort of sat back and read everything, but I'm going to take part in the next challenge so before V-Day gets here my goal is to be 265

Up 2 pounds officially, but weigh-in followed a double shift with very little sleep and a short out of town trip. I feel smaller though, so I think it was just fluid overload. I will have a strong finish to this challenge next week!

Weighed myself this morning, definitely at 190 :D The scale kept saying 190 on Sunday (my last weigh in), but I was kind of skeptical and kept weighing myself until it showed 191. So here are my weigh ins:

So yesterday I was 206.8 this morning 209.4 has to be TOM getting ready to show. So frustrated. My own fault if I had worked harder in January. Thinking will miss the goal by Friday but we will see.

Congrats to those who met their goals today!! :carrot: I fell a bit short myself, but not by much! I did lose 4 pounds this week, so I'm super excited about that. I'll hit the next one!

Didn't lose any this week, but didn't gain any either. Considering that I had 3 days totally off-plan, I am happy with no gain!!

I didn't have a goal; lost a total of 12 pounds for this challenge, so I'm good with that.

Time to start the next challenge!!
