Iīm contemplating starting Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred tomorrow. I did P90 before, but never finished it, only did it 1 month, the guy was pissing me off.
The 30 Day Shred sounds awesome.

Ralucax, I haven't tried any of those programs. I'm addicted to Leslie because that is the only one I have been able to keep doing without getting bored or hurt. I am adding weights to most of the DVDs to get me sweating! Usually carry one or two lb weights.

This person wrote a review of some of the Leslie DVDs! Look at the number of calories burned! I am using calorie counting for this diet and have been estimating 300 for all of three miles, but she says higher than that. Yay!

Awesome! If you are doing the Jillian Michaels also, I would just go to 2 on this for a few more days. If you start doing too much you will start to burn out or get hurt. I jumped to three right away but I started in the summer when I'm not teaching and that was all I did. Of course, this was after a 23 year lapse of exercising. :o

Wow! That's impressive - 30 Miles! You have inspired me to keep track of how many miles I have done this year! I have to go back through the threads to see what I did. Most days I do 3 miles but I think I did 4 a few days. But now that I'm back at work, it will probably be three most days.

Yes, I am up to 50 seconds. This morning I skipped it because I felt weak after my 3 mile party. Thought I'd try it tonight. I was very tired when I woke up probably just adjusting to being back at school.

If you google "planking challenge" you can see what it is and how to do it. One of the teachers where I work told me about it. I was telling her about these Leslie walks and she said she was doing this and it's just 20 seconds a day. Well, that's an exaggeration, it's only 20 seconds the first couple days! I'm up to 50 seconds and it is hard!

Hello friends. Just checking in. Still hard to type, etc., so please excuse typos. I had my surgery 1/7 and came home from the hospital yesterday. I will not lie, it was the most horrible experience of my life. But it had to be done and I am SO glad the worst (and it was BAD) is behind me. Not sure when I'll be back to aerobic walking, but the doc did say the best thing I can be doing right now is walking. So I plan to start this week with baby walks and increase as I can, just to keep my body moving. I know I'll have some weight gain, but don't plan to do an official weigh in for a week or two. I'll peek in every now and then and promise myself that I'll be back doing LS videos just as soon as I can. Not sure I'll ever be able to do arm weights, , but I'll do what I can.

I took a 2.5 mile walk tonight with DD. I was bundled up like I was in Minnesota or something, because it was under 50 degrees. :o. We are in Florida. She goes to school in NY and was wearing a tiny little jacket. Looked liked we were in two different climates. She goes back on Saturday. :(

Three mile Party! As much as I love this one, I do have to mix it up. I realized I had done two HIITs and didn't remember it. Kind of like that feeling when you drive somewhere and you don't remember driving there. I just know it so well that I did it without thinking, which isn't bad, but I don't think I worked hard enough since my heart rate wasn't up and I wasn't out of breath at all. It's all good!

Right now on Leslie's site, they have a couple of different sets on sale, buy one, get one for those of you that want multiple dvds and the equipment. :)
I have about 5 of Leslie's DVDs at the moment and purchased one of the deluxe sets (I purchased on e-bay as I didn't need the free one so I figured I'd save money getting it else where). It has 3 DVDs and all the 'extras' including the firm band, fit cuff and walk belt. The kit I purchased is called the Walk Strong Deluxe kit =) I'm excited for it too get here.

I like to change up the DVDs/youtube videos I find. Right now I am doing the "Ultimate 5 Day Walk Plan" disc, and changing up the routines/number of miles,etc. Really loving it and being able to walk IN the house with all this snow and cold that's going on right now =)

First three miles of the 5 Mega Miles. I also just got to a one minute plank. I can't fathom getting to two minutes but when I started with 20 seconds anything longer seemed unattainable as well.

Well, here in Florida this is the time of year we can walk outside. From about May thru Sept it is miserable. DH and I are sick of the weather and will move a little further north at some point in the future.

I've lost 40 pounds with them starting in July. It's the first exercise I've done in 23 years, I just always thought I hated exercising. But I find her very motivating. I'm also noticing much more definition than I've ever had. I started out with one mile but moved to three pretty quick and then started slowing adding weights that I wear on my wrists. I also think the bands are very effective for the arms. I still have a lot of jiggly on my arms, but they are much better than they were! I know there are much more intense videos that probably work faster, but if they are too intense I won't stick with them, so then what good is it if I don't do it.

When I first started I only had one so I did that for a couple weeks. Then I noticed on here that everyone was mixing them up! So I started adding videos and I would do one day one with bands, and the next day without bands. Then I got the ones with weights (tone your upper body) and I added that in.
Then about two months ago the Radio Remix and Party Songs was released and I loved those so did those probably 5 times a week and did others the other days.

I have noticed if I mix them up it is better for me because if I know it too well, I just space out and don't give it my all.

The one thing I noticed also is that at first just the walking easy was fine, I was sweating and losing. But as I got used to them and started losing weight, I guess got more fit, I had to really exaggerate the moves as far as stepping high, etc. Also, like I said I did start adding weights the past month or so. That really gets me sweating.

I chose not to get hand weighs (separately) as I have a pair of pink ones that I received with my boxing gloves (also pink). I can't wait to start using all the 'equipment'. I think it'll help me out a lot.

That sounds exciting. I'm curious about the fit cuff and walk belt. I have weights from Target that wrap around the wrists so you don't have to carry them, which is what she recommends also. I bought gloves for the bands. She recommended it on the 3 Mega Miles and I much prefer that to bare hands. Have fun!:carrot:

That's still good though! It is so hard! I've watched a few videos to make sure I am doing it right because I thought maybe I was doing it right because I thought maybe if I made a small change it would get easier. Nope.

I agree on the longer videos. We are spoiled with the 46 minute party that includes the stretching! The three mega miles DVD I did today is about the same except the cool down is quite long. It's the one with Father Scott. I am going to do Party every other day and the three mega miles the other days for a couple weeks I think, just so I'm not hypnotized. I suppose it is better than being hypnotized with a bag of chips or cookies!

I've been some of her videos that I find on YouTube but I was thinking of buying some of the downloadable ones at her site. I like to have some variety, but like the idea of having 2 or 3 that I would always have available without having to go to YouTube.

Thing is there are so many to choose from. Of her downloadable videos which do you recommend? Here is where I am right now in terms of exercise:

I've been walking outside when weather permits. I can walks for about 2.5 miles at a pace of about 2.25 mph. This is in an area where we have hills so on a long walk my Fitbit tells me I climbed 8 to 13 flights of stairs.

I also have a treadmill that I use at home, but I like the videos as an easy fill in to get in some extra steps in a more entertaining way.

On YouTube the most challenging I've done is a 3 mile brisk walk.

Gosh there are so many on there that I have not heard of, very tempting!
I have the 3 Mega Miles but there is a lot of band work in mile 2 and 3.
I like the "5 mile fat burning walk". It has Five miles, but I never do 5. I always do 3 and sometimes if I have more time will do 4. I can't ever do 5 because the bottom of my feet always start to hurt at the end of 4. But you could just do as many as you wanted.
I have 8 DVDs but somehow I don't have many on here! If you are interested in the DVDs, Carol and I Love the latest one - Walk to the Hits Party Songs. Again, you could stop after 2 or whenever!
Gosh, now I'm tempted to add to my collection reading some of these.

Did miles 1 and 3 of Walk Slim 4 fast miles. What really motivated me was my fitbit! I want 10k steps each day. When I walking the morning I get anywhere from 5200-6000 steps before I even leave for work, so it's easy. But when I don't walk with Leslie, when I get home and have around 5500. So it really motivates me to do it!

Yes, during the school year I usually only get 5-6 hours a night during the week and then 9 or so on the weekends. But during the summer, it is glorious!
I'm reading "WillPower" (http://www.amazon.com/Willpower-Rediscovering-Greatest-Human-Strength/dp/0143122231)
and there is a section on the need for sleep so I am really going to make an effort to go to bed earlier during the week! Obviously getting up at 4:30 to do my Leslie is part of the issue but I feel so much better exercising that I am not giving that up! :) Too bad it took till age 52 to figure it out!

Do you really like this one Calcounter?

Yes, it goes pretty quick and it has the bands in miles two and three but not the whole time. I love Leslie at the end of mile three, very motivating for me. I prefer Party one but like I said I have to mix it up or I space out. I need to have to think while doing it a little bit.

Oh! I don't think I have that one. But maybe I do. I have 3 Mega and 5 Mega. Maybe I do have 4 Power. I'll have to look. I let someone borrow 3 of my DVDs that I don't use as much and maybe that was one of them. I'll check it out on Collage!

Wow! That's great. I'm at 1:05 but this am I couldn't go as long. As soon as I feel any twinge in my back I stop so today stopped at 50 seconds.
Just got home from my night class and sleeping in till 5:30, if I dare call that sleeping in. So I will probably do some Leslie after work.

Got and email from Leslie's sight with 3 Mile Calorie Blast! DVD and Walk Belt and looked elsewhere for it but on ebay it is up to almost as much as her. Wonder why Collagevideo doesn't have it.

I feel like I read mixed review on the Walk Belt. That was actually one of the first videos I did when I found Leslie on you tube - it was something with the belt. But I haven't ever gotten one yet.

I feel like I am getting a cold so I decided I better not walk today. :( I was SO tired driving home from school and then when I got here I had more work to do for the college classes I teach. So I am going to get to bed early, and took my vitamin C. But it's early and I can get to bed early so I'll be up at 4:30 to do the Party Walk! :)
