Hello my friends, I'm glad to see you here :hug:

Well I only loss .4 for the month. I guess I can count that as a victory since I didn't do too much damage over the holiday. I found that I can't eat as much as I use to and with what I ate for two nights I woke up with a stomach ache. So it's not worth it to need to go to the bathroom and can't. Better luck in this month :crossed:

Hi all,

I fell short of my goal last month with a 6 pound loss instead of the 8 to 9 I wanted. I had a rough couple of weeks, with end of semester assignments all due and my weight not moving for 2 weeks despite my best efforts. I got discouraged and Monday I had the mother of all cheats. Throughout the day, I engulfed an entire medium pizza and half a desert pizza. I felt sick, it was not pretty. Anyways, I'm happy to finally see the scale moving this morning from 255 to 253.8. I've been very hungry the past 2 days which seem to have something to do with my weight loss but it's extra hard to keep my eating in check.

Also, I'm sad this morning to find that my almost 20 year long Hollywood crush has died in a tragic car accident :(

I'm flying home on the 18th and I already know my eating will not be on point for a while, so I'll pretend that this month is ending on the 18th!

dolphin, you can do it. Six pounds is definitely great, and the fact that it is 6lbs in the right direction my friend :bravo: Shoot for the 8-9lbs this month since it's a short month for you. Give it all you've got :D Yay on regrouping after the cheat :yay: Yes that is sad about Paul it made me gasp also :(. My husband said what's wrong :)

envelope weigh in when you can. I weigh daily unless I'm rushing with my daughter in the morning but don't always get to record it here right away. I have a sheet in the bathroom that I record it on, then I transfer it here :)

I weighed the same today as yesterday. I'm so glad the bulk of the food is gone. We went to my Uncle's yesterday and the boys picked me some turnips with the greens from the garden. I don't think they got enough but they said it was muddy down thereand I promised my oldest son I would clean his boots. I'll go get some more next weekend hopefully and some collards too. No reason not to eat healthy greens for sure :D

I'm having a super emotional eating day. We found a property that was my absolute dream come true. A small farmhouse with 5 bedrooms, heated by wood, with 16 acres and a huge beautiful barn. We went to look at it yesterday and even though it was pretty beat up inside I was falling in love with it by the second. Then we came to find out that because it was a foreclosure the bank wasn't entertaining any offers that were not a direct sale, meaning we couldn't put the offer based on when we could sell our house. I was devastated. I don't think I have gone an hour without crying since we were there. I actually cursed at the real estate agent and asked why the **** she wouldn't have told me that before going to see it. I had actually looked at this property before and had my eye on it for years. I am just heartbroken. My Mom keeps saying, if it's meant to be then it will happen. But I keep asking why something feels so very right has to go so very wrong.

And then yesterday...we are celebrating mine and a friends birthday this weekend by going to fancy hotel and out to dinner. Well my best friend is joining me and yesterday she kept gushing about all those cute new clothes she had bought. I was already pretty upset by the house deal falling through and then I got even more angry because I can't afford new clothes, what with receiving no child support last month I'll be lucky to get food on the table let alone buy anything new, and nothing in my town is plus sized. So I kind of rudely said "Well it must be nice to afford new clothes, nothing in this town would fit my fat ***." So I went to see if I had anything at all that I could even squeeze into as since I had the baby I've pretty much been living in yoga pants. And even my fattest of fat jeans won't fit. So I cancelled my dinner reservation and gave it to another friend of mine because I don't even have pants to wear for the dinner. :( I know it sounds like first world problems...but it's my world, and nothing is going my way today.

Aw Virgina, I'm sorry about the house. It is quite hurtful when you have your heart set on something and it doesn't come through. :hug: Wow on your birthday dinner and reservations. Hopefully everything will work out for you all the way around. And on your Mom's comment ... Often times things are said to us and we don't want to hear them. She means well I'm sure you know this and you said yourself money is tight, so the house needing a little work and sounding as large as it is could mean more work and maybe this just isn't a good time (right now). Something else will come along. So hold your chin up and dry your eyes. Hope I'm not out of line and I hope you feel better soon. I have been through so many disappointments in 2013 it's just plain crazy. I know that better days are coming so I keep holding on. You can do it. :hug: When is your birthday?

We are going through our trials here but I know things could be worse. Weight is pretty much stabilized which isn't bad since it could definitely be going up. Eating on plan has not happened in days. And though I'm NOT eating on plan it doesn't seem to be doing any damage. (that's a plus) :)

I spent the day finishing up some Christmas shopping and driving all over to get my hubby a fitbit. So excited he is joining me as a fitbit wearer and on mfp. This afternoon I just enjoyed spending time with the kids after school, they had school and I did not, so it was great to be home when they got here.

I should have spent the day grading. So I am off to my makeshift treadmill desk to get some done.

envelope sounds like a joyous day … I'm happy for you :). Your husband joining you is great. :) My husband goes to the gym with me but he's losing weight ... not a good thing for him. He's 6'6 and now weighs 218. He is doing strength training and when he starts to sweat he stops but by then I guess it's too late because he'll get on the scale and be down a pound or two. I couldn't be so lucky. :D I want the fitbit for Christmas. RadioShack had them on sale I believe. But I'll probably get it off eBay.

We went to the gym this evening for the first time since 11/26. Felt good though a few times I felt like I was going to give out. I kept going though. I did 4.12 miles in 1:03:53 and burned 605 calories according to Nike+. Now I need to attempt to add up my calories on MFP.

Thanks Rennie...if it's possible my week got worse. I had an epic fight with my ex on the phone. The first time we spoke in years. And this morning my brother in law took the opportunity to call me a bad parent and a horrible role model and called me trashy. Because I posted on FB that my daughter and myself were dancing and I jokingly said we were twerking. I've cried more in 48 hours then I have in years.

I'm down to 182.2 this morning. I'm happy with that. Haven't been to the gym. I had an assignment due on Sunday that I thought was due this Sunday. My teacher gave me an extention till yesterday so I stayed up all night (until 3:15am) Tuesday. Got up at 6:15 with my daughter and didn't finish that assignment until 12:15 yesterday so I only had a total of 4 hours of sleep. I am afraid to see what my grade is on it. All grades will be in on 12/10. Which me luck. I need at least a C to get my credentials. I had a B but I'm really unsure able this assignment. OK I'm done, wish me luck :)

I've been dealing with crippling tension migraines, in the midst of finals week and editing my husband's thesis. Needless to say, I haven't been meeting my exercise goals but my eating hasn't been awful (could be better, though, but I remember the days I would eat junk food constantly under this sort of stress so I'm forgiving bad choices here and there.) I plan to brave the freezing rain later and get to the gym.

I can't wait until next week, when I will be able to relax!

2:210.4 Did a 5 mile WATP and then walked another mile outside.
3: 209.4 5 miles WATP and another walk outside with walking poles. getting the hang of them!!
4: 210.4 again... up down up down.... 3 miles on the treadmill and 2 miles outside with the poles. I worked today~
5:208.6 Our snow melted (it's coming back not going to get excited) so I walked outside, 5 miles very very hilly!
6: 208.4 It is snowing again, but it's light dare I go walking outside? We'll see :) nope... walked with Leslie Sansone

I went up huge this morning...which is really weird because I wasn't feeling so hot yesterday and barely ate anything. Going to pump some serious water into me today. I woke up with seriously swollen ankles and legs. I am going to have to get this water retention issue settled.

Yeah Donna it sure is surprising me. We haven't been to the gym since Monday and I seem to be doing ok. Maybe I just needed to add in more carbs. IDK, I thought I was already getting too many as opposed to when I was actually doing good and low carbing it. Things are a little wacky in our household right now so I don't know what the future holds, :shrug:

weight is good has gone back down to 181.4 this morning. I haven't been to the gym since Monday (hoping to go tomorrow). I haven't been logging my meals like I should (hope to eat on point and start logging tomorrow also). This week has just been rough … it's hard to stay focused or positive when life gets crazy all at once.

Good Saturday Morning,

My day has started off nice with a weigh in of 180.8 down .6 from yesterday. Just .4 higher than my ticker. I am happy but my norm is to go back up and not see 170 anything so I have a good mind not to eat anything for about two hours to see if the 170 do exist :D. LOL I don't think I can do that but it sounds good :)

Yesterday the weather was beautiful here, 79 degrees and sunny. Today's high is supposed only be in the 50 and raining. The weather is so interesting here :)

I am having a great month. I am doing much better than I had expected I would be. I have to give the extra credit to C25K, it is really making a big impact.

Rennie - 170s are calling your name! Hope everything calms down in your household soon.

After being excited to sleep in, a beeping noise started at 5:10 am
I thought the fire detector in the hall needed new batteries, so hubby got up to change it. He tried 4 diff batteries before he realized that it was not the smoke alarm but the carbon monoxide detector that needed the batteries. We went back to bed by 5:40, but I was cranky as could be for those 30 min!

Good job Donna :) I'm at 4 miles also. I'm trying to get to 4.5 - 5. It just hasn't happened :)

Calories and carbs are higher than yesterday and with no workout so hope I didn't blow my low with the sodium and carbs :crossed:

2:210.4 Did a 5 mile WATP and then walked another mile outside.
3: 209.4 5 miles WATP and another walk outside with walking poles. getting the hang of them!!
4: 210.4 again... up down up down.... 3 miles on the treadmill and 2 miles outside with the poles. I worked today~
5:208.6 Our snow melted (it's coming back not going to get excited) so I walked outside, 5 miles very very hilly!
6: 208.4 It is snowing again, but it's light dare I go walking outside? We'll see nope... walked with Leslie Sansone

Ok ladies...I am truly confused. I keep being told that I should be consuming more calories what with breastfeeding and such. I have a hard time getting in all my calories in a day :S So I wonder if I added a protein shake or a meal replacement of some kind if it would help me get in those last 300 calories I tend to be missing. Which seems bizarre to me because am I not supposed to be eating less calories? So confusing!

Virginia I don't think adding a protein shake is a good idea because of all of the extra stuff they have in them but you can get extra calories in just by adding two glasses of milk. If you like milk (I love it) just a thought. It's not heavy and it gives you and the baby some great nutrients.

my weight stayed the same 177.6. I really think it would have been lower had I got that extra hour of sleep that I should have. I need to learn to go to bed at a decent time. :)

So...I come in here with my head held low and my guilt on my sleeve. I have completely gone off the track....and maybe through the woods, up a hill, slammed into a house, turned over.....yada yada. I am scared to get on the scale on Friday morning (won't be back home until Thursday night). I know my Christmas goal is out of reach...but geez if I could just get back on track, that alone would be a holiday miracle! I am so ashamed at myself. I stopped working out AND started eating all kinds of holiday goodies, which led to eating every meal off plan :( Ugh, such a struggle. But either way, I'm back. Reading through these posts helps me to get my mentality back on board...just have to get the will power and motivation back as well.

akelly good to see you :hug: I think we all got off track over the holidays I am just getting back into the swing of things. I'm trying this eating 6 days low carb with no bread, no potatoes, no sweets, no starchy vegetables (I think that is it) and then on day 7 which is Saturday is a cheat day. I kind of have the cheat day planned out so it won't be as bad. I don't think I am going to over do it because the scale will be too discouraging on Sunday. I'm glad you're back :hug:

Donna, are you thinking about getting a new scale? I think just about every person I have posted with has had to get one at some point including me. You know what you can do is get on the scale at home right before you go to the store and then step on one at the store and see if it's the same or near the same before you buy a new one. Is your scale digital? Could it just be the battery? Maybe move it to another area of the house or anothe bathroom. idk and 6 miles you go girl :high:. That's my goal … to do 5-6 miles in an hour. I can do 4 but I want to push myself. It just hasn't happened yet. :)

My calories are low again today. I thought they were under 1000 but they are a little over that … though still low, I'm not hungry. My carbs are better today. My worse time of the day is between 2:30 and 4:30. I think I could eat a ton of junk during that time. Thank goodness I don't but I sure would love to taste a few things during that time ;)

December has been really disappointing.
I've only lost 2 lb in almost 2 weeks. I've piked out on my nightly walks, as I've been gardening and painting so much, my legs are killing me.

Not only that, but I stuffed up my diet today. Going to a Thai restaurant with Dad for xmas, I tried to keep the calories down. But I had rice, a chicken and chilli jam dish, coconut juice, and coconut icecream. I only see him once a year, so I couldn't really be rude.

Hi sonickel you still have 19 days left so don't get too down. The good thing about our bodies is we can lose sometimes just a quickly as we gained especially with sodium/water weight. Glad you had a nice time with your Dad. Now let's dust off, and get the ball rolling :hug:

I'm down .2 to 177.4. I plan to get my 4 miles in today so the scale should be really pleased with me in the morning. Eating chili for breakfast (getting my protein in and the bulk of my carbs).

I took my measurements awhile back not sure when exactly but I think it was in July since that is the sheet in my bathroom that it is recorded on with June. My measurements are down a bit from that time …

41.5 - 37.0 ~~~~~~ 2 inches above belly button -4.5
I'm sure I did below also but idk … I'll re-measure in the morning :)
48.0 - 45.5 ~~~~~~ hips -2.5
37.0 - 34.0 ~~~~~~ under breast -3.0

I'm liking this day … :)

I keep saying I'm going to come back and then I come and I read a bit and I hover, and then I leave with my head hung in shame. I can't seem to get my eating/drinking water back to where I used to have it. I'm aggravated with myself. And then I think, I shouldn't be so hard on myself, I've managed to lose almost all my pregnancy weight, except for 4 pounds. So yay me there, took me almost a year to do it, but hey it's done. Now I need to get off those last four pounds and continue moving down. I hate the way my body looks now, yes the pregnancy weight has come off, but my belly shape is not attractive at all. Must get back into the groove of working out, or at the very least eating well.

So I'm here, and I will continue to be here everyday. I need the accountability. Will post my first WI tomorrow morning with a fresh start. And then we'll go from there. I'm ready.

Only four pounds to go is a true victory :carrot: I don't know how much you've read but I'm attempting a modified low carb 6 days and Saturday is my cheat day. I have my first cheat tomorrow. I'm a little scared because I don't want to over indulge and get discouraged. I have almost reached my Christmas wish of 175 and I'd like to get there and under. I haven't done this in years. You can do it. I will say that what worked for you before may not work this time because all I did the last time was count calories and that didn't fair well this time. So don't rule anything out. Coondocks has started this 30 day no soda no sugary drinks on FB and so far everyone has said they don't drink soda or sugary drinks anyway. You could start with that. IDK my friend whatever you'd like to do I'm here for you :hug: so glad you're here :)

well cheat day gave me a pound gain not bad but it wasn't a bad cheat day either so back to 177.2 today.

… and for some reason I wasn't really hungry today.

B ~ eggs, with Pico de Gallo, and cheddar, green tea
L ~ gyro meat on a low carb tortilla with lettuce and cucumber sauce
S ~ 3 crunchy monkey bread balls my son made
D ~ too late to eat anything and I'm not hungry anyway so why be miserable?

ETA ~ ate a few more spoons of gyro meat and a spoon or two of Lipton rice (not good I know)

Virginia I am so sorry you are feeling this way. :) I understand your need to get rid of the scale. Before I get ahead of myself does this mean that you are leaving 3FC? If so, I hope you'll come say hello from time to time and let me know how you are doing :hug:

I think today I had one of my worse eating days in a long while, worse than Thanksgiving. I have been wanting birthday cake and ice cream, so tonight after church I went to Food Lion and I got it. The whole family sat down like it was someone's birthday and we had cake and ice cream. Earlier I had a bunch of mini vanilla wafers and then after the cake I ate some hot cheeto fries (only what one of the boys left in the bag) he should have ate that little bit :D.
I'm not expecting a loss at all … possibly a two pound up. But I will go to the gym with one of my sons who's out of school for winter break so I will work it off … prayerfully :)

The stress of the semester is finally gone away, my house (destroyed from neglect) is largely clean. Now I get to focus on myself, and that's pretty nice. So far, I've been doing at least 10k steps or 30 Day Shred/60 minutes at the gym. Finally, my weight is moving down! 178.2 this morning!

Donna, good job on the walking. That's the way I like it also. I start with 3.5 mph and increase it from time to time but never for long (trying to job/run but haven't accomplished it yet) and I start the incline at 4.0 and click on interval and let it move up and down on it's own. I read some where that it's not the speed we go it's the length of time we spend walking that counts. I told the kids I'm going to see if I can do 1.5 hours without falling out because I'll tell you when that machine says cooldown I sure get happy ;)

I am up 1.6lbs today to 178.8. We got home late (after 10) and my son made ⅓ lb burgers and it took forever for them to cook (it seemed) I had planned to just eat just the burger but that didn't happen. My other son made fries so guess what I ate? He over salted them and I know this up is mostly sodium so it should be gone in a couple of days :)

Feel for you. The alternator went out last night on one of our cars. Barely made it home on the battery.

It is Christmas Eve! I have allotted myself 2000 calories for the day instead of my usual 1200-1500. I bought some donuts for breakfast and having fun trying to figure out what the world is the number of calories in one. They are from a grocery store bakery with no nutritional info posted. I have a Boston Cream donut. The calorie range appears to be 250-310 looking at places like KK, TH, and DD. I'll just go with the high number.

Lunch will be my regular tuna and crispbread for 240.

Dinner is Cornish hen, 1/2c red cabbage, 1/2c egg noodles, and 1/2 steamed broccoli. I'm going to guess around 600 calories. Then two beers and some Irish cream for another 500 calories. I'm up to 1650, so have 350 of wiggle room for maybe an additional cider (190) or donut (200-300).

Tomorrow is the same plan for 2000 calories. Will have half a La Brea baguette roll with smoked salmon and a crispbread with a tbls of Nutella for breakfast. About 500 calories. Not sure about lunch, probably just a snack of a granola bar, 130. Dinner is eggplant parm. One serving is 300 cal + breadstick 160. Another 500 cals of alcohol and about a 1/4 a cup of HD white chocolate raspberry ice cream. Up to around 1600, so could add a serving of mini eclairs for 270 or an apple cider for 190.

Then it is back to the old 1200-1500 cal grind on Thursday. :( I'm hoping to end the year at 186. :snail:

CrabNebula, DH decided we would handle it after the holidays. I guess some fuse is perhaps messed up and so we need to take it to a Honda dealership to plug it into their computer. :( I'm trying not to think too much about it.

How did everyone do for Xmas? We had a great one with DH's family. Lots of delicious food, and I stayed within a reasonable calorie limit (1450 Xmas Eve, with 350 burned at the gym; 1300 today, no gym). I'm hoping to at least maintain tomorrow and work on losing. I'm going to take ALL of the left over cookies, chocolates and sweets over to my mom's tomorrow and leave them. ;)

I have enjoyed my holiday and I'm sure my weight will show it. We spent the night with my daughter and her husband so no weigh in this morning. But I'm sure it wouldn't have been great anyway … So I'm gonna use tomorrow as my start over till the end of the year. I must get back into the 170's before the 1st :crossed:

I ate 1580 in calories yesterday, 150 carbs and 3828g of sodium :yikes:

I finally went to the gym and did 5 miles in 78 minutes on the treadmill, calories burned 735 Nike+

weighed 180 even after my shower, feeling good about tomorrows weigh in :)

I only did 4 miles today, 597 calories burned, but I didn't get all of my water in so my weigh in may not be as good in the morning

Starting Weight - 211.4
1:210.6 Sunday, no workout for me today.
2:210.4 Did a 5 mile WATP and then walked another mile outside.
3: 209.4 5 miles WATP and another walk outside with walking poles. getting the hang of them!!
4: 210.4 again... up down up down.... 3 miles on the treadmill and 2 miles outside with the poles. I worked today~
5:208.6 Our snow melted (it's coming back not going to get excited) so I walked outside, 5 miles very very hilly!
6: 208.4 It is snowing again, but it's light dare I go walking outside? We'll see nope... walked with Leslie Sansone
7 207.6 No walk today, bible quiz meet with my kids. If stress = exercise, yeah I don't think so
8 207.8 Walked on my funky treadmill. I have to bump up the incline to at least 1.5 and higher when I go faster or it completely shuts down requiring me to start over, so I did 4 miles... up hill, thankfully not through the snow.
9. 207.4 Walked 2 miles on the treadmill and then did a 4 mile walk with Leslie Sansone. Snow is coming down outside and I'm cold!!
10. 206 this morning, not really trusting it though. 5 mile walk with Leslie, I'm freezing. Making acorn squash soup for me and potato cheese for the rest of the family.
11 - still 206 today. maybe the scale is broken Did 6 miles of Leslie Sanson (4 mile walk with miles 2 and 3 repeated.)
16- 205 today, changed the batteries and it stayed the same. Haven't been online much this weekend and I am planning to do 5 miles with Leslie Sansone.
17 - 206 today Walked on my dread mill for 5 miles. the faster I walk the higher the incline has to be so I was walking up hill the whole way!!
18 and 19th computer down!! was 207 on the 18th and 208 on the 19th!
20 - back to 206 today - went through a couple of food obsessed days. Getting it back under control I hope.
21 - 206 again, Did 5 miles on the treadmill. Went downstairs to do 2, talked myself into 3 and then 5. Happy Saturday. I don't know why the scale is stuck, but I know I'm wearing a shirt I couldn't wear a week ago!!
25 - 203.4 today and I went sledding with the family! I climbed, I fell, and I slid. Great workout and so much fun! MeRrY ChRiStMas!!
26 - day after Christmas and there are mine fields of junk food around here. Staying on plan but everywhere I look.... 203.4 again today and a 5 mile walk with Leslie Sansone.
27-29 varied between 207- 205 did my workouts everyday, not enough water, not off plan but not on it either (I eat low carb, gluten free and you can eat too many calories even with that plan!)
30 - 204.4 better but not okay. Leslie, 5 mile walk.

I burned 612 calories on the treadmill so I think I may just come a little closer in the a.m.

… but I had a 5.6lb loss for the month so I'm thankful for that :)

I was at 203.6 yesterday and today at 200.8! Happy New Year! Changed up some things in my diet and drowned myself in water the last couple of days :)
