Good morning all and Happy Friday! TGIF!
This week is proving to be quite a mental challenge. I suspect I will either show no loss or a small gain tomorrow at weigh-in. I have been 100% on plan ---getting all veggies, water, supplements, etc. I have added really light toning exercises this week.
I know that 'no loss' or a gain has the ability to put me in a funk...so I'm trying to get proactive. I'm saying it aloud (well online anyway) that I won't let that derail me - and I will definitely post tomorrow after weigh-in.
In the dark recesses of my head, I know this is a longer journey and I've had great success on the program...and will continue to see success. I just have to prepare myself for the mental games that can pop up when the scale doesn't reflect success like we'd like it to. And there it is again...prepare, plan, prepare, plan...
Oy. Our brains are a complex organ.

IP POWER to you!

I understand how you feel I ave been out of town on vacation and have down Amazing at staying OP. although I am a nervous wreck to get on the scale when we get back. I will be very disappointed if I don't post a lose seeing how I have stayed OP, but I know that most meals weren't prepared be me and may have had hidden non OP stuff. Wishing you luck on your Weigh in.

Hello Lovelies!!!

So the appetite is still non existent but that helps with me being 100% OP, lol.

We had a pot luck last night with the neighbors and there were lots of delicious carb heavy dishes, AND CAKE!!! But I had my dinner salad before the pot luck and I had chicken and some beef at the dinner. Oh and I passed on the wine and champagne (UGH!!)

Have a great OP day!!

sarita75 I wanto to congratulate you on running! You posted it late yesterday and I just want to acknowledge your first day on P3 and your run. :broc:

I'm an avid runner and look forward to adding it back to my routine in a few months. :)

AliExpat Great job staying OP. It's astonishing how much food is in front of us and around us on a daily basis. I'm learning (not even ten weeks into this program) just how frequently I indulged in "just a little", but did it over and over. Even though these kinds of potlucks are hard (my office has food in it nearly every day!) it's so good that we are in the real world for P1 so that we can learn to say no.

vachinyc You're telling yourself all the right things. For most people, weight loss slows as you get closer to your goal, and you are so close to yours. (!) That said, showing a small loss or no loss is normal, and you're right to not let it derail you.

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! This morning said 177 on the scale! (I only change my ticker with the clinic weight which is usually two more than mine due to clothes and whatnot). 177 is so thrilling to me, I have not been in the 170's in so long and to see that 7 there makes me almost giggle in the mornings! I also brought a pair of size 14 pants to the tailor about a week and a half ago to get hemmed, they were snug in my hips when I tried them on for the tailor. Here we are about two weeks later, when I put them on after getting them back...they are almost too large! So exciting. I know I have a while before I am a size 12 but I just can't wait. I am also totally out of xl shirts. I need to get rid of all of them because they look like tents and I have been showing too much up top if you know what I mean ;). I hope for a great weekend!

Yespositively, thanks! You know what I realized last night? I realized that when there is a lot of food put in front of you there is an automatic response to start eating! The smell of the food, the look of the food all triggers some instinct to start eating, regardless if it's good for you or not of if you're even hungry, lol. I passed my husband a piece of cake and I got a whiff of it and I immediately knew the cake was moist and the strawberries were so fresh it would feel so good in my mouth. I guess that's why food companies pour so much money into research and development and advertising to make their foods appeal to our senses rather than our appetites.

Has anyone had a WI dream? I had one last night for the first time...and 11 pound loss! I guess only in my dreams haha. I feel really good today though. I'll be in NYC all day on Sunday...starting with a show and ending with a sporting event:idea:...any advice!?

I can totally relate. ?I have snuck a couple peaks at the scale and haven't lost a thing in 5 days. I too have been 100% OP. It's so hard to keep you head in it. I am surrounded by so many temptations all day long and I've stayed strong but, no losses makes it hard to stick to it. I feel like I deserve a reward for my hard work. MY normal WI is Tues. but, I'm doing it on Sundays for the Christmas challenge. Please please please be a loss. lol

Huge NSV for me yesterday...I have a pair of jeans that have been hanging in my closet forever that I really wanted to wear, but alas, they were too small. I couldn't even get them over my thighs (they have no stretch to them...they are "real" jeans). Well...I tried them on last week and they made it over the thighs but wouldn't do up. I put them on yesterday and...they fit! I wore them all day. I was so excited. I can't believe how quickly things are changing for me! I don't necessarily see the changes, but obviously something is happening.

Let me just say...I'm loving IP!!!

Cake Is my biggest weakness! I asked for my very own wedding cake for Christmas one year! Boy, does that give me insight into my relationship with food. :-(

I knew I was all in on IP when I served my own birthday cake and didn't even lick my fingers. Also, when we attended a wedding this summer and they served my fave white wedding cake with custard and fresh raspberry filling and I watched DH eat 3 pieces of it while waving it in my face and rolling his eyes, moaning! I wanted to hurt him and take that cake! Lol.

Now that I am on maintenance I find I don't feel deprived when I skip the cake. It is definitely all about my mindset. I feel so empowered to have control over food now!

I'm now in planning mode for. P3 and getting excited. IP has given me life! I'm down 41 lbs., no joint pain, wearing a size 8-10, for the first time since high school. My DH is amazing and it's like we are on a honeymoon all over again!💞

Gave a great IP weekend all and stay focused on the pot of gold!

Omg, I am sooo happy with my WI this week. Last week I only lost 1 lb but I felt constipated. I spoke to my advisor and she said drink a lot of water. She was right because I was getting tired of drinking it. I really see the importance of water because this week I lost 9lbs!!!!! That is super amazing 😜😝😝😝😝😝😀. I have lost 36lbs in a month and a half!!! I love IP so much. I am feeling my confidence coming back. I'm so happy 😃:carrot::carrot::carrot:

One thing that IP has done for me is curtail my desire for sweets. As I write this there is a beautiful loaf of raisin bread and a cheese and strawberry coffee cake a few feet away from me. And to my surprise, I'm fine with it. That is such a new concept for me because all of my life, sweets have been my weakness. This plan is awesome and I'm so happy to be back on track. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Deviled eggs are always a hit! For every two whole eggs, I add two egg whites and give the yolks to the dogs :) That way you get more protein & less fat. Mix with WF mayo & some spicy mustard and S & P with a sprinkle of paprika and you are good to go.

Guys, I am so hungry today. I am feeling crabby with IP and want to eat everything. I was hungry yesterday and decided on a 4th IP packet instead of eating everything in my kitchen (thought crossed my mind). Maybe I'm just feeling hormonal, not sure, but I'm talking myself off a ledge right now. This is day 11 so I'm not sure why these weird cravings are kicking in. I just want to munch on something.

Any advice for handling this? I'd prefer not to go off plan for obvious reasons.

Are you getting all of your veggies and water? Maybe try drinking a cup of hot tea...I read somewhere once that hot liquids make us feel fuller, not sure if its true or not, but if you like herbal tea it might be an option for you.

I just love reading all of the NSV's! I got rid of so many clothes earlier this year when I was close to goal, I refuse to buy new "bigger" jeans, so I am currently stuffing myself into very tight ones. Looking forward to these being loose and buying some new cute "smaller jeans!"

Have a great OP Day All!

I know the feeling. Here's what I do - I eat romaine lettuce, it's crunchy, it's something to eat and it's filling (albeit tasteless). I also use the Stevia drops in my water - it's not only sweet, but it adds a honey-like texture to the water which I find somehow 'turns off' the craving for chewy rich food. Herbal teas help too - cinnamon apple, orange spice, honey rooibos. Drink water. Get out of the kitchen and do something that takes concentration and time (hemming pants, balancing your checkbook, re-arrange your underwear drawer). I think you have to turn off the habit switch in your head that turns you to food. Good luck, hang in there.

Thanks. I'm at the office-- I think I'm going to take a walk outside and maybe treat myself to some looseleaf tea at the tea shop-- one of the flavors you suggest. There's a nice tea shop about four blocks away (downtown Chicago, so it's an easy walk).

I'm not sure why I'm struggling today. Went ahead and had my restricted item for lunch (was saving it for dinner), that helped a little but man am I feeling munchy.

Had a NSV today :) have been feeling down about not seeing changes in myself even though others can but I accidentally ordered a shirt in a Medium instead of my usual XL and when it came today it fit perfectly! It was nice and flowy! When I went to the mall I decided to try on a sweater and medium was the highest size they had and it fit too!! While I don't think medium will be my size, i just can't wrap my brain around it so I will probably just buy larges still exciting!

also grabbed some old jeans didn't look at the size and they were an 11/12 when I am usually a 16. good day for clothes in my house!

I started the Ideal Protein Diet last November, the Monday after Thanksgiving. I lost 36lbs over the next 3 months and stayed on the program pretty strict during that time. After 3 months couldn't look at another vegetable one day and just needed a break and more variety. Have maintained since. Would like to continue on my weight loss journey and lose some more weight. I'm ready!

Had WI # 4 today - donated another 1.6 lbs to the cause but feeling a little disappointed as my home scale said I had lost 3.8 lbs this morning since last WI. Feel like throwing it out the window! Oh well, as long as all scales are moving in the same direction, right?

Daks, I love reading your updates. You've got this maintenance thing down! And it is very encouraging to those of us who have this (fingers crossed!) in our future!

I do have one qwestion i have been exercising regualry now for 4 months and dont want to quit. Will I hurt my results my coach said I should be ok.

If you are a regular exerciser now, I would encourage you to continue (as long as you are not overdoing it - you are taking in a lot less now, as far as fuel for your body). Obviously exercise is good for your body, so don't give it up. I have never gotten into the habit of exercising and it is a struggle trying to add it now. I know my results would be better if I got regular exercise. I do have a plan though! Going to start going to our little (3 treadmill) gym at work BEFORE I go home at night. Where I always get tripped up is when I walk in the door and want to do nothing more than put my feet up! This way, I won't even walk in the door until my exercise is done! Starting this on Monday.

I really see the importance of water because this week I lost 9lbs!!!!! That is super amazing . I have lost 36lbs in a month and a half!!! I love IP so much. I am feeling my confidence coming back. I'm so happy :carrot::carrot::carrot:

Congratulations on your super loss this week! I definitely can tell a difference when I don't get all of my water in, and almost always have good results when I up the water. Good advice from your coach.

Get out of the kitchen and do something that takes concentration and time (hemming pants, balancing your checkbook, re-arrange your underwear drawer). I think you have to turn off the habit switch in your head that turns you to food. Good luck, hang in there.

Love this! Jam packed with good, practical advice! So helpful, thanks!

I'm ready!

I'm so impressed that you have maintained your weight loss over the past year, even when stopping midway in your journey! Way to go! Just think if you had taken off the 36, put it back on, and had to start over! You are ahead of the game - go for it! Good luck with your restart!

RE: the new IP Raspberry Chocolate Bar
Here is some clarification towards all the confusion:
This is what IP Headquarters emailed my coach when the announcement came out:

"We have redefined the classic chocolate bar to bring you the Ideal Protein Raspberry Chocolaty Bar, a decadent reward for dieters on all phases, particularly dieters enjoying the freedom of Phase 4.

This chocolate reward is permitted as an occasional treat to replace one restricted food per week.

Reward your dieters success with our newest addition!"

Had WI # 4 today - donated another 1.6 lbs to the cause but feeling a little disappointed as my home scale said I had lost 3.8 lbs this morning since last WI. Feel like throwing it out the window! Oh well, as long as all scales are moving in the same direction, right?

I feel the same way. You have to celebrate any loss. That's the only way I can keep myself going. I don't WI until Tues but have snuck a peak at the scale and since last Tues only down .6 pounds. Talk about wanting to heave the scale out the door. I just have to hope for more by then.

Congratulations on all the weight loss today. My first WI is tomorrow. I think I will be happy.

That's a good tip on the raspberry chocolate bar. I had it on my list to get 4 for this week. That would not have been good....

Ugh holy tummy ache batman ! Having a lot of pain that feels like gas.. Wish it would go away or I could get comfy and fall asleep! Ate some chicken wings today that a friend made IP compliant and my usual veggies so I'm not sure why I'm feeling bad.
