Default Just found out about IP....anyone else getting ready to begin?

Hi all,

I just found out about the IP program today at the doctor's office. I've been enjoying reading the posts on here. I have especially enjoyed seeing all of the great results people are having on this program.
My all time high was 243. I'm at 219.8 now, and getting ready to start IP. Although, I do leave for the beach with the family on Thursday, so I don't really know that I will start until this upcoming Monday. I just thought I would see who else is just beginning on this journey as well.

Thanks,
Sunni

Good link it's an awesome program the first 3-4 days are the hardest. You can do it and this forum helps a lot.

My all time highest weight was 242 and I started IP at 208...It was the best decision I ever made. My advice is to do it when you can commit to it 100%...I started another round this year after camping season was over. Canadian Thanksgiving was a bit of a challenge and now its family birthday season. But I have stuck through it and I'm 20.8 pounds down since end of September.

Best of luck!!!

I started yesterday. This forum is a tremendous resource for both information and support. I weighed about 215 last September and decided it was time to take action. The scale has been stuck at 182 since June and I am hoping IP will help me get rid of the rest of this weight!

Welcome! Even if you decide that you don't want to start until after the weekend, I would recommend cutting back on your carb intake over the next few days. It will make those first 3-4 days MUCH more tolerable!

I'm starting this Friday. I'm super-excited, but also a little nervous. I REALLY want to be successful, just concerned about the unknown...how bad will the cravings be? Will I have really bad headaches, etc.

Headaches can be helped with extra salt. I never had a problem but read on here to put some in your hand and lick it if you have a headache. Also, after a few days your cravings will end and you will not feel hungry. I'm restarting today and can't wait to get rid of the 20lbs I gained back.

I agree with cutting back o the carbs and sugars. I started 3 weeks ago. Before I actually started I went to the lake for the weekend and started the following Monday. I was extremely surprised that 3 days would make a big differance. The doctor told me to go have a last splurge and I did. I increased in size on my waist, arms, and hips and also increased my body fat and lost lean mass. After seeing that just a little time makes a big difference I have been on track.

Thank you for the welcome and support! Great idea to cut back on carbs and sugars now. I hadn't thought to do that. Like some of the others, I have been consumed with wondering how bad the Dr. Pepper and carb withdrawals were going to be. That thought alone causes fear paralysis for me. I am a pain wimp..zero tolerance. So, I better do something to help me get ready for it.
This is the first forum I have ever joined; so I hope that means I am truly ready to commit and move forward with the weight loss. I think I'm just scared.
Thanks again!

Just take it one day at as time. I was worried about the withdraws from sprite and dr pepper too. It was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Just prepare yourself mentally and you should be fine.
