Hi all,
I hope everyone had a great weekend. I had a cruddy weigh in this morning, only down .8, and only myself to blame. It is frustrating because I need to lose 1 more lb to make it 25, and I get a mini goal prize at that, and it seems like what should have taken me a week to get there has take three, but I have not been super great about being fully OP. So here is my proclamation today- I am 100% OP this week. I will eat all three IP packets, I will eat all of my veggies, no occasional veggies, and keep my fats down!! Feels good to say it! I hope everyone else has a great OP week too.

Good Monday Morning my fellow IPers!!!

I am in need of ideas for a care package for my grandma. She is in a nursing home and I did not get to see her the last 2 times I was home :(

SO I want to send her a small box with some things in t just for her. I am thinking some lotion, lip balm, chocolates (she is 91 and weighs like 90lbs) so I want to make it a sweet caring box for her. I have a card, pics of the kids but what else can I send for her?

I am taking any suggestions, I want to mail it tomorrow :)

Good Morning IPers. Had a busy weekend for me didn't get to post much. Hope everyone has a great OP week!

Sarahbell, warm fluffy socks might be good for your grandma's package. My grandpa liked us to send him music CDs to listen to or audiobooks.

Finally made it back to my coach after all the travel craziness. Somehow down 7.5 lbs, which is about 3lbs a week since last weigh in. So all is well with the world. Right on the cusp of a new decade... so I am hoping by next week I will be in the 250's. A big thank you to everyone here for just being here. I would not have made it through the travel **** and back to OP without reading about everyone else's successes.

Wishing everyone a fabulous OP day!

Ok today I made the cauliflower "pizza" crust. I added 1 egg white (I had only 1 cup of cauliflower to use), fresh grated garlic, Italian seasoning, basil, salt and 1/4 tsp of baking powder to add fluff.

Baked it in the oven until it was golden brown, added 2 tbps of WF cocktail sauce doctored up with spices to emulate pizza sauce, then added 1/4 of green peppers, mushrooms, zucchini and tomatoes. baked at 450 for 15 mins just to warn the veggies drizzle with Olive Oil and a few more spiced. Add a RTD dark chocolate shake and YUMMYY!!!!

For my grandmother I would always bring her a nice fuzzy warm blanket, she also weighed about 80lbs at the age of 100 . They also seem to love the shortbread cookies.

Thanks sarahBell! I had my appointment at lunch time and took some measurements and walked through the program with a coach. Looks like we start tomorrow. I am a little overwhelmed by all of the packets (she gave me 28 different samples for the week), but overall excited about the program. I've lost some weight on my own through calorie counting and exercise, but I need some help getting that scale to budge and hopefully this program will be the one to work for me.

Having a pretty kick *** day today! Started off by returning a top I bought from Banana Republic a few weeks ago for a smaller size - and it was on sale so I got $10 back! Found a beautiful festive wreath for my door from Costco and managed to walk out of there without being tempted by the food samples and hot dogs on the way out. Then I headed to my friend's sister's place to buy some of her expired IP stuff. She gave me a ton of stuff for only $15. Woohoo!

:) I swear I'm in the twilight zone today. Two count that TWO co-workers have stopped me today to tell me how great I look. My casino has over 2400 employees, so I really don't expect anyone other than my immediate coworkers to notice my weight loss. One did tell me that I'll never keep the weight off. My reply was "oh you're so kind to notice, but this is a lifestyle change, not just a flash in the pan!)

I'm heading over to the clothing exchange thread but I know its been a little dormant lately. If anyone has any short size 14 black slacks they aren't using I'd love to have them. My 16s are getting pretty baggy. :D

Happy Monday!

Happy Monday. Or at least, Tolerable Monday! lol 5th weigh in was this am, and I'm down another 3.6#. Met my goal of 15 pounds by my cruise. I leave Wednesday for New Orleans, and I'm a little nervous about being able to stay on plan 100% the whole time. I've been planning out all of my meals and packing up small travel size bottles of all my favorite no-refrigeration-required sauces/dressings/flavorings. My biggest worry is getting in the veggies.....I'm hoping there is spinach every day on the ship's salad bar so I can sneak it into my morning chocolate drink. I'm actually taking my immersion blender with me....does that make me IP-obsessed/insane? lol

I can't understand these comments from strangers/coworkers about not keeping the weight off. That is about the most ignorant thing someone could say to a person who is losing weight! I would be totally floored if someone said that to me!

Has anyone heard of Dream Field Pasta? I know we are not allowed pasta, however this has 5g of "digestible" carbs/serving. Is it OK then??

From my understanding the 5 g of digestible carbs is truly a false claim that has been debunked by a prestigious medical journal. One time someone on 3fc posted the link and I read the article, but I don't know how to go about looking for the link for you! (It's here somewhere if you care to search or you may try googling it, too.) I can't even remember which journal it was. Sorry about that.

I looked at a package recently in the store out of curiosity and all you can do is subtract the fiber from the carbs and you are still left with too many carbs! Hopefully someone here can chime in and give you a more concrete answer.

Also, Deanna, you look fabulous and darling in your picture!

Hi all - been crazy busy, had a great weigh-in on Sat am. Yesterday, I ate 2 restricteds!! I can't believe I did that, haven't been off plan the entire 7 weeks. In my defense, I worked out with my trainer yesterday and went for a 1 hour hike in the woods with the dogs and I was shaky. I had my brkfst shake, post workout bar, lunch shake, then only had a bar with me on the walk so I ate it! Had all my veggies and a regular dinner but I feel like I seriously blew it. I'm staying away from the scales for a couple of days. Other than that, I'm very happy with my progress, down 23 bs in 7 weeks!

I have added zinc to my daily regimen and am still enjoying chicken soup. Ugh I hate being sick! Today I also broke down and turned on the heat in the house. Not sure if it is this cold or just the weather, but I cannot get warm. Could be the program, too. (Not as much insulation LOL)

Hi everyone-

I haven't posted in awhile, but I've been around- "lurking" I guess. :) Welcome to all the newbies!

I have been doing really well so far and am now in the normal range for body fat! yay!I am going to be phasing off soon, but I want to lose about ten more pounds first.

But, I managed to get sick last week and I had a really hard time getting all my food in. I felt really, really horrible. There were a few days where I was unintentionally boot camping.

Anyway, I've since recovered and am trying to get back into the swing of things, but I feel like I am starving even right after eating and am really, really struggling with carb cravings. I feel like I am back in week 1! Anybody have this happen? I had not had any trouble with cravings all this time. It's a little off-putting. :(

Hello everyone. It's been a while since I've been here to check in. Hope everyone is doing well.

I weighed in today. I am down 7 lb for the week and a total of 55 lb since Sept 3.

October was super busy for our family. I did manage to sneak the Saturday before last for a half day of hunting. I got an ok size deer. Going to make deer jerky out of it.

Yesterday was the day I have been planning for two months. My mothers 75th birthday party. It went great. We had close to 50 guests. She enjoyed her self thoroughly and got to see some "old" friends.

Today I started jury duty. First time I've ever been called to serve. I got called out of the jury lounge to the courtroom. I got called into the jury box. I made it through all the general questioning. But I got struck when the parties were making their decisions. Oh well, on to the next one. Have a good evening everyone!

Congrats on the 7lb loss today and the deer! Went out with my dad and brother over Thanksgiving but got skunked. Would've had a moose if we had the tag though!

Hello All,

Have spent the last several days reading all I can from this forum. What a fantastic amount of knowledge and support you all have to offer. Just starting this journey. A good friend of mine lost 45 lbs in 10 weeks on Ideal Protein and I have been considering since he did it in the spring. Picked up all the info last week and then found this website. I have 4 young kids and not a lot of disposable income, so I am going to do this with alternative products. Still trying to figure out what bars are the best options and exactly what supplements I have to take, but hopefully I can figure that all out soon. Looking forward to getting to know you all.

How long have you been working out? I've been on the plan for a month now and feel like its time to start, but have heard so many things about it impacting losses and I don't want that. I've always been an athlete and feel like I need to start working out hard to help get to my goals. Just curious.

I bought my grandma a really cute hand-made pillow that had a quote about grandmothers on it. It was super sweet and she loved it, and had something to make her feel comfortable and be reminded we love her! Maybe you could make something like that? And yes i think chocolate is a great idea for anyone at any age :eating2: (except for us IP'ers of course) :dizzy:

Don't even worry about that extra restricted. You needed it. It won't affect your loss. Sometimes I would forget I had the chili and eat a bar at night. I still had a loss.

Welcome, I just started on Oct. 15th so I am new to all this too. I use all alternatives due to cost. I'm a widowed mom of 4 so gotta save all I can. Anyway, I buy my shakes at walmart when I can. It's 35 miles away. I don't nuse any baes. I just stick to shakes veggies and my protein at dinner. I posted a question about supplements today a few bpeople answered.
