I still find that HIIT thing odd but she says we will notice a big difference after a few times, it makes you get fit. I don't know about that but I enjoy the DVD.I wonder the same thing.

I wonder the same thing.

The first few times I didn't get very intense on the 30 second intervals. So I kept thinking "why are we slowing down so much!" But now I try to be much more intense on the 30 seconds and then I don't find the two slow minutes too slow. I had never heard of HITT before since I've been out of exercising for 24 years :o so I looked it up and it seems like other HITT training are much more intense. But this is the right speed for me! :carrot:

Today since I had the extra hour and the weather is finally nice (less than 90!) I had time to go to walk around a lake close by with DH. We walked three miles in 48 minutes. They have the mileage marked off. It didn't feel anywhere as intense as a Leslie workout, but we had fun!

It doesn't sound ambitious if you think it is is seven weeks away .... BUT when you realize you will have Thanksgiving, and leftovers, and Christmas parties, and all the pre-Christmas stuff that goes on ... it starts sounding very ambitious! But keep walking and you can do it! :carrot:

I haven't set a Christmas goal because I'm still amazed I have lost as much as I have. It was so fast -- and it has to be the walking!

Some days I can do it but very little jumps. But usually I sort of hop/jog from foot to foot or do that hips twist thing instead. The bouncing just isn't good for me if I have drunk any water at all!

Do you do the jumping?

I did the 4 Walk Slim with the stretchy band today. I have been trying to only do a DVD when it is not nice enough to walk outside. Today it snowed and tomorrow it may snow so I'll do the DVD again When I walk outside I do 5-6 miles and it takes a good hour and a half. The video is faster and has a lot more than walking in it.

I sure have purchased a lot of Leslie videos in the four months since I've discovered her, but it's still way cheaper than a gym (that I wouldn't go to ;) )!

And regarding the time, it seems like I walk slower when I go outside, even if I have the mileage marked off because I guess I think I look odd "fast-walking". I know, I shouldn't care... but also I run into people I know and then have to stop.

Today I did mile 1,2,3,4 of the 5 Mile FAT burning Walk. Wow, I haven't done it in a couple months and it is more intense than I remember. I was really sweating. I think I definitely need to mix up my walks more. I think it is harder than the Remix with the HIIT because there are 12 min miles with two mins of jogging I each mile. Where the remix is 4 30 second jogs I two miles and then that last HIIT in mile three is longer I think.
I like them both though!

I did the three mile remix today also. I decided to start doing the hip twist thing whenever they jump. I do t know why I can do that and not a standard bounce but I can. Also when she did the jumping jack arms I did actual jumping jacks. Jeez, my butt was flying all over the place. Not doing that anymore.


What in the world is that annoying little box that went across the screen. I am on my iPad and a little pop up went across the screen and I couldn't see what I was typing. I've never seen pop ups like that on my iPad. I guess advertisers have figured that out now. Oh well it is a free site so can't complain.

hey gang :) I am so sorry I haven't been here all month... I cannot tell you how sick I have been... the doctor says it's allergies but my goodness a gracious I've never had anything like this before. for 3 weeks I have coughed my head off and been so hoarse that I can't talk. for 3 days I had no voice at all. my ribs have been so sore from coughing... i don't mean to complain, just trying to explain why i've just been too sick to exercise with Leslie. it's like I just couldn't get enough sleep. I thought I would exercise over the weekend but just couldn't find my get up and go...

ANYWAY... I got up at 5 this morning and did 2 miles. I used the Walk it Off in 30 Days dvd. hopefully I am back to my normal self!

sooooo how is everybody doing? i've missed my walking buddies!!!

Well...there are a few songs I do like but more than weren't that great. A couple songs sounded like a video game with lots of beeps and whirly sounds. After the five minute warm up there was bouncing for quite a bit, yuck! Then there was a while with no bouncing and then it came back and Leslie said she loves bouncing she doesn't know why, must be getting older. :?: The other thing that was weird is that the stretching started at 41 mins and went until 45. So that is one of the shorter three miles. Same crowd as remix except one person swapped out. I like remix better but after a few times I might like this as much. It has the same number of HIITs with the same timing I think. Also did that double side step with the turns two or three times and the step and tap a few times, which I find very ineffective. I was sweating at the end which was surprising because it felt very light compared to the others. The DVDs always grow on me, so we'll see!

I had physical therapy early this morning so that was my exercise for the day. Itis 30 minutes of core exercises and I'm sweating and shaking doing it all sooooooo yea it counts ;) I don't go back for 2 weeks so I'll be back walking tomorrow.

I just did the Party one, I think this is the third time and now I am enjoying it more. I love the song What A Feeling by Lionel Richie. There are a couple songs I don't like as much but they go by fast. There are several new moves in it. One is the skater.

I just did 3 miles :cp: I used the new Walk to the Hits Party Songs and I absolutely LOVE it!!!! I LOVE the music and the moves. the music makes it feel like I'm not even doing a workout. I even did ALL the bouncing :cheer:

I also did 30 minutes of my physical therapy core exercises before doing the dvd which really got me sweating and kept me sweating thru the walking.

after being so sick with allergies for 3 weeks... I FEEL GREAT!!!!

Weird morning. Our power went off at 2am and then came back on at 10 am. It flickered several times at 2am before it went off which woke us up due to all the devices plugged in and the weird noises/ lights that went off. Plus DH sleeps with a CPAP and that turned off so he was having trouble sleeping. So I am tired and couldn't do my DVD first thing in the morning with no power. I was thinking about doing with my laptop but the battery is not very good so I didn't think it would last. To bed early tonight for me!

Three Mega Miles. In May I pulled something in my back and was out of work almost a week. Last night while cleaning and decorating I bent weird and my back feels like it did the day it got hurt. I was careful while exercising and doing everything but I am hopeful that with all the core strengthening I've done with Leslie it will be fine. Again, if I hadn't discovered Leslie I wouldn't have done anything to get core in shape.
Rainy, nasty day here in Florida. Potential tornadoes in the afternoon. My daughter flies in really late on Wednesday from NYC. Praying no delays with her flight!

Well, I took a hard fall off on my icy porch steps on Sunday. Thank GOD all I did was bruise my A$$ hugely....and maybe my pride a bit, too. So thankful I didn't hit my head or injure my back.

So I received my DVDs!! Tried the Party Songs this morning. Only had time for 2 miles, but I really wanted to (and could have) keep going. Interesting....for some reason, I didn't work up much of a sweat during those 2 miles. The HIIT didn't seem long enough, but I'm sure there is benefit to it. I will have to be careful with some of the moves. I don't like the bouncing in place or the twists....have to be very careful with my knees. I'm on a "as long as you can stand it" timeline on knee replacement on the right and I want to that to be YEARS...also can't do high impact which is a bit frustrating. But I just do marching instead.

My back is still tender but hanging in there! Sorry about your fall, thank goodness you were okay. I have found I have to really exert myself on the HIIT for it to be effective, it took me a few times to realize that. Since I exercise so early, 4:30-5:30 I sometimes realize I've gone through two or three HIITs without even realizing it. I did it with one pound weights the other day.

Yes, the only thing I do not like about these is the bouncing. I can't do it much and now I just jog. I am ok on the twisting. The bouncing is not good for my bladder and it just hurts. Not sure why jogging is okay but not bouncing. I hope she doesn't add bouncing to all new stuff since she says she loves bouncing now that she is older.

My daughter was supposed to fly in tomorrow night. Well, today we all worried because weather in. NYC and in Florida is bad so we got her on a flight tonight but she doesn't land until 11:45! So tomorrow I have to teach my normal job at high school and then go to the night college to teach from 5-10 so I think I better sleep in til 5:45 instead of my usual 4:30! :dizzy:. I am on my feet from 7:30am till 10 pm so it's not like I'm slacking. I will let the students leave early tomorrow night though! But I'll check in on y'all! and when I get up early to put in turkey I may get a party or remix in!

Friends, I had a wonderful victory this morning! For the first time since late July/early August, I did a 3 mile walk. Many factors, including that broken bone in my left foot and just plain laziness, had caused me to back off and never work my way back up. But I finally did it this morning and I feel real good about that!!!:carrot:

3 Mile Party Songs this morning!!! I'm still shooting to be down 5 pounds by Christmas! Even if I don't do the 5, any loss will be happily accepted.

Good thing I did 2 workouts yesterday because I have the worst sore throat today. Had fever yesterday but think it is gone today.

I did 3 miles this morning too! used the new Walk to the Hits: Party songs again! love it!!! also did my core exercises first which gets me sweating,

2 miles of the Remix DVD! Could have done 3, but was nervous about getting food ready!! (Still not sure the HIIT is all that effective....30 seconds?) Thankful I am able to move my body today!!

Today I did the four mile walk slim.
Back is still not 100% but I'm amazed that it is doing so well. I think because I have been working my core. Never even heard of my core till the past five months, lol.
