WW Clubs and Groups - Thursday Weigh-in Results for July

Tina

It's really July!
Like I said earlier, I'm going to enjoy every day of this month. It seems time is passing so quickly. My June was just a blur, beginning with June 9th (my birthday and the death of my father-in-law).

Anyone new to this thread----please join us as we strive for a healthier body. Most of us used to weigh on Thursdays. Now a lot of the "older members" (sorry about that) weigh on different days. It doesn't matter what day you weigh, you can come here and post!

Let's have a great loss this week.

Howdy,

Ok there obviously was way to much celebrating my birthday last week. I was up 2.2 pounds. I HAVE to get serious this week and get it off. However, that will be after I have Mexican food tonight. :)

Hope there are a lot of losers out there this week. Happy 4th!!!

Hi all! I was down a pound from when I weighed 2 weeks ago, but that is still up 4 pounds from where I was in May. I'm so crampy this morning. Worse than yesterday. I was up at 5:00, and was at Curves when they opened at 7:00.

Headed to the laundrymat to wash band uniform bags. Doesn't that sound like loads of fun?

I still stayed the same this week. I am ok with that rather than a gain. :) I think I will be staying away from the scales for a while once I really get into lifting on our new home gym. I don't want to discourage myself as I know it may show that I gain even though it could be muscle. I tend to get psyched out by what the scale says sometimes. :( Hope everyone has a good WI and a GREAT 4th of July!!! :) ......Sis

Punky, you are doing fantastic! Keep it up! You are an incentive to everyone with your enthusiasm.

My hubby has set a goal to lose 10 pounds by his b-day Sept. 22. He loses so much faster than I do, I'm sure he'll make it.

Not doing much today. Hubby is working. Son is reading a book. Dog is napping. lol

I do have shirts in the washer, so I guess I should take care of those. Then when those are all finished, I think I'll take a nap. Just seems like a fun thing to do.

We are doing steaks on the grill this evening, so that will be yummy. I'm making salads to go with that, and we have fresh fruits already chopped up for dessert.

Have a wonderful holiday everyone!!

My weigh in for the first week of July rewarded me with a 2lb loss

Today is normally the day I enjoy my banked points but Im wondering if I shouldnt screw up a good thing.

Anyway DH is doing this with me but he doesnt weigh nor does he have any other goal but to get below 200

Grats to all the loosers of the group =)

Tiff

Tiff, congrats on the loss! I can understand about the banked points thing. You are doing great. I still need to get back into the habit of journaling. I don't know why I find it to be such a pain!

My hubby is bringing a pizza home for supper. We rented Analyze That and will watch that while we eat. Usually we get a 12 inch pizza for the 3 of us to split. Works out pretty good that way. Not too much, but enough.

Tina

Congratulations to everyone who posted. :D

Tammy, you're going in the right direction and that's what counts.
Susan, having a birthday and all the celebration usually means no loss----you'll go down in no time. Going to Curves will get you going again.
Punky---that is outstanding !!!!!!!

Tiff, what a great way to start July! I wish my husband would stay with it and lose, no matter if he counted points or not.

Sis, tell us about your new home gym, Please......

I weighed yesterday and was down 1 pound from the 6 I'd gained in the last few weeks. I'm psyched now to get back to exercising every day. I've got to get my metabolism going. :)

Tina,
We got a "Parabody" I think it is called. It has the lat bar, the leg lift thing, you are able to do "flies" for pecs, push downs for triceps, you can do crunches, rows, and probably a LOT more than that , but I am just figuring it out yet. :) It seems to be pretty versatile in what you can do. My hubby is doing it too but he wants me to think he got it "just" for me. ;) I know better though. LOL I will keep you guys posted on my progress, if any. Chat later. Have a GREAT week end....Sis :D

Wow Sis! The home gym sounds great. We've considered getting one. I think Bob and Tim would both like it.

Tina
07-06-2003, 06:46 PM
Yes, Sis, that gym sounds great! I'd need a trainer to show me how to use all the features. :)

Tammy, I bet Tim and Bob would enjoy one of those home gyms. It would be good training for Tim's activities.

I completely blew a month's worth of points today.
Larry needed to get away. So, we went toward the Gulf and had seafood platters at a great restaurant. I'll just have to walk extra minutes all week.

Hope everyone has had a relaxing 4th weekend.

Tina,

Hey it was worth all the points if it helped make Larry feel better. Did ya'll go to Guidos?????? It doesn't really matter where, it's all good. I'm so jealous that ya'll went to eat seafood. It's my favorite. I've been down all day with a sick headache. Actually it hasn't actually made it all the way to the headach because my smart husband knew it was a migraine coming on because I've been sick at my stomach all day. Actually everything has turned my stomach including diet 7up.

Tammy
07-08-2003, 04:28 PM
Boo on the headache! Hope you are feeling better today.

Seafood! My favorite. I ate so much shrimp when we were in Georgia. Love that stuff.

I went to the doctor this morning because my left leg has been swelling recently and it is tingling. After I called to make the appointment, my left arm started tingling. Anyway, I go for blood tests and an ultrasound of the leg tomorrow. Looking for blood clots. I'm not supposed to be doing anything except sitting with my legs elevated. Well, I'm doing this right now, then I'll head back to the recliner. Kind of scary, but I'm sure it's nothing. Don't know why I'm sure, but I am.

My BP and pulse rate are great so he was pleased.

Bob just ran to a little restaurant down the road to get sandwiches. We were supposed to be meeting with an insurance person right now, but Bob talked to her and asked her to come some other time. It looks like it's ready to storm AGAIN! I think I need to get off of here. We have been having nasty storms 2-3 times a day since Friday. This is getting to be a bit much.

auntie
07-08-2003, 05:08 PM
Howdy,

Tammy, TAKE CARE of yourself!! Please let us know what the doctor says. Glad your blood pressure was good.

Tina, is it hot enough for you? :) It is for me!!!

Today has been an interesting day. One of my good friends had brain surgery. Everything came out good. She will be in ICU for a couple of days, so I can't see her. Then another really good friend that I talk to everyday has gone to Vegas until Sunday. Another girlfriend is in Europe for 3 weeks. Pat has band tonight so I'm here alone until 10ish tonight. Feel lonely. Really want to eat!!!!!!!! I went to look for furniture and found some I liked. Now the key is to get Mr. Pat to see it. Well, I think I'll lay here on the couch for a little bit and then run to Target and see what kind of stuff I don't need.

Tammy
07-10-2003, 01:57 PM
I was up a pound this morning. Not totally mad at myself, but a little bit. I guess with the fluids that I'm retaining could be part of the problem. The doctor said there is quite a lot of fluid buildup in my legs right now.

Susan, how is your friend that had the brain surgery? Hope all is going well.

Bob and Tim are out talking to businesses about helping with the supplies needed for the Eagle project. Right now the estimated cost is over $400, so it would be great if he could get some help.

auntie
07-10-2003, 07:29 PM
Tammy, don't be discouraged about the pound. I'm sure it is the fluid and will come off soon!! Any news yet?? Can Tim do a fund raiser for his project??

My friend is in ICU and should be moved to a room today or tomorrow. The surgery was a success but that's all I know for now. I'll keep you posted.

I didn't weigh in this week. I had 2 workshops and then TOM and I'm very bloated. I will next week for sure.

Tina
07-10-2003, 11:29 PM
The message board hasn't told me anyone had posted in days. I should have just looked on my own.

Tammy, I am soooo sorry you've been sick. And I am sorry I didn't know it. What has the doctor said, other than you have water retention??????? You know that I care!

Susan, so sorry about your headache. I'm glad Pat knew what was about to happen. When can you see your friend?
That's a bummer not having anyone to talk to. That's the feeling I had when I had to retire. All my friends were working and I was just here at home.

I'm not weighing this week because I know it'll be bad.

Tiff, how did you do this time?

Sis, how is that home gym going?

Tina

I went for an ultrasound of the legs on Wed. to rule out blood clots. I also had bloodwork done for many different things. The doctor should get the test results today and give me a call or have me come in. His orders were to sit with my legs elevated, so I need to get off of here pretty soon.

Wal Mart is giving Tim a $50 gift card to use for supplies needed for his project. A lumber company near here (where we will get all of the wood needed) is knocking off $70 of the total cost! They will cut the wood to the right size and deliver everything to our house!! I think it was a productive afternoon for the project! We were thrilled!! Also, the lumber company suggested 4x4 wood poles that they would sell us for $10 each for the Purple Martin houses. We had planned to use metal poles that would cost over $100!! We need to check with the caretakers at the estate, but I think the $10 poles sound wonderful!!

Well I am still trying to do our new home gym. I am somewhat learning. I didn't want to get on the scales but I did yesterday then again this morn. I had a 2 lb gain yest. but a 2 lb loss today. Yesterday of course I weighed after I had brkfst, lunch etc and today I weight first thing, but a 4 lb diff on the scale???? I will take the loss though. LOL Anyways I think it's working although my lower back is screaming at me this morning. I took something for it. I hope that goes away. I have a bad lower back and I hope this doesn't irritate it too much. Hope everyone has a great weekend....Sis :D

Tammy
07-11-2003, 07:36 PM
Sis, I really want to look into a home gym. My membership at Curves (which I love!) ends in November. I think it would be better in the long run to get a home gym that all of us could use. It would also be closer! lol We used to belong to the YMCA and Bob and I both used the Nautilus equipment there and enjoyed it. Maybe the gym could be our Christmas gift to each other this year.

The doctor didn't have my test results today. They even called the hospital to check on them. Some of the bloodwork is in, but the ultrasound of the legs isn't. I want that one back!! I think if there were blood clots, the hospital would have called with that information though. So I'm taking that as a good sign.

We have the AC off and the windows open!! It is beautiful today. In the upper 70's, but NO RAIN!! Since last Friday we have had over 15 inches of rain where I live. Talk about a mess. Some of the areas north of us have had 20+ inches of rain. I think some of their roads are still closed. Too much rain for me!!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Tina

It's time to weigh-in. :sunny:
I hope everyone has good results. I am still up but feel thinner today. Maybe all the water I'm gussling is helping. :)

I was down a pound, but am still up. Don't know what to do about the fluid retention. I go back to the doctor on Monday, have the ultrasound of the neck on Tuesday.

I got up this morning planning to go to Curves. Haven't made it there yet. My arms are so sore from doing yardwork yesterday, I'm considering taking a day off. I guess that wouldn't kill me, would it?

Hi everyone:

Started out good last week but got off programme Fri and continued over the weekend. Was up 2.6# last night at meeting and am really mad at myself. I know when you have an overindulgence to get right back on track, but I didn't.
I was going to skip my meeting, but figured I needed the motivation.

But today I started my walking tape again & backed point-friendly breakfast & lunch to eat at work.

Hope everyone else does better. Bye for now.

Way to go Sheree!!!
I was up 5 pounds, didn't weigh in last week because I was at the hospital with my mom. So I figured I better go this week. I figured I had gained. Now I just have to refocus again.
Hope everyone had a great week.

Hi All,

Bandit, good for you going to the meeting when you really didn't want to. You get a gold star for going!!!!!

Sheree, it's good to hear from you. You've probably already lost that .2 lb. Way to go, girl.

Susan, I'm not surprised about that gain since you were away taking care of family business. Getting back in the groove will rid you of those pounds.

I was down .5 lb. today. I am slowly losing that extra weight I gained. I was soooo mad at myself for gaining. Now, I'm getting rid of it. Yea for me.

Happy Sunday!

Punky, goodluck with all your painting, tiling, etc. during your vacation. If you remember, we did the painting thing last month. I'm so glad that is finished!
And, if I did as much exercise as you, I'd start losing some pounds. I'm going to get back to walking on my treadmill.

Tomorrow, I'm going to go help my sister fix up her classroom. That will be my exercise. Tuesday, I'll get back to treadmilling. :)

It's August!!!!! Another month to lose more weight and become healthier!!!!
