Yeah... I get to start a new challenge.. I am sooooo excited and happy and feel like floating (I have to remember this feeling!)

So this is a challenge for anyone! Anyone and everyone is welcome! You do not need to follow this plan. You can start anytime! anytime! and weigh in as often or whenever you can.

I used to sh!t 5lbs for lunch.

Now it's up a bit, down a bit. Or up a lot, down a lot. But never in the same direction for very long.

A lot of people on here tell you it gets hard near goal. That is so spot on. I wish I had listened.

Well, at least it's Friday!

My boyfriend's parents are taking us to Burlington, VT this weekend, so I expect to be about 5 pounds of water weight by Monday. Eating at restaurants never excited me so much when I lived in the city, but now that I'm in the woods, it's sadly one of the most thrilling things about traveling. However, I'm going to try to hit he gym tomorrow before we go, drink lots and lots of water, and do as much walking as possible.

Now for the next 10!!! meantime.. I need 4 lbs to go to win this baby!!! :lol:

Thanks guys. Still not sure what is wrong with FIL. Could be dehyrdation, could be an alergic reaction. But he has heart failure. I hope he can still live a life with that. There are different degrees of that.

MIL went nuts at me today because of the stress. Called me a bad father. Obsessed with my diet. Preferred me fat. Etc. Etc.

I kept my cool because she is under enormous pressure. Besides, I heard all that sh!t before from other people. :)

She later apologized.

But I repeat...already heard that sh!t from other people.

Stay the course.

Ian, sorry to hear that the stress of your FIL's health is continuing - hope he stabilizes with manageable conditions soon. I'm super impressed with how you handled your MIL - I need to learn to find the compassion and composure you did!

We are back from vacation and I was really super on-plan the whole time. There was no scale there. I started exercising (!!!), doing HIIT on the elliptical most days I was there. I read books, napped, etc - super relaxing and really nice to have daycare for my babies for a few hours and time for myself. The scale, however, is up a bit (I thought I'd probably lost a pound or two so I was pretty disappointed this morning). But hopefully it's just bloat from the airplane and the mysterious hamburger patty I ate at the airport (maybe it had soy or other fillers? it was disgusting). Maybe it will give me an edge in this Lose 5 Pounds challenge & I'll see a big drop quickly now that I'm back home!

Did not do good this weekend. All I wanted to do was eat. I felt hungry no matter what I ate. Hopefully tomorrow some water weight will fall off. Fingers crossed.

Ian I'm glad you were able to hold your cool. I am sure she is angry and scared. It sucks that she decided to lash out at you and say things she knew would hurt. It doesn't make her behavior acceptable, but at least you know where it is coming from. I hope today is better for everyone.

Ian: It's tough to diet when you're traveling. I hope you do ok and, more importantly, I hope you enjoy your trip. I've been to Belgium before (Brussels) and I enjoyed it, but I've never been to Turkey.

Did I enjoy the black tie dinner? Nope. I can't stand those affairs...nothing but small talk and speeches...yawn. However, I did have to go shopping for a new dress and THAT I enjoyed, because these days clothes look not too bad on me, plus I ended up buying a size 6...hehe :)

I still haven't shed the water weight...perhaps tomorrow. Happy Halloween!!

Ah IAN I remember your infamous travel scale from your trip last summer! :) You did good on your trip and lost weight! Do you have someone staying with your family while you are gone?

Staja... NOT bad with only 5 candies.. I just told the kids (I had 15 come by - a record for me at this house in 14 years) to take a handfull!.. I ended up with only 10 left, which are going to work today -

Ian, enjoy your trip - I dieted and traveled for work (80% travel) for years. It's doable but definitely requires thinking ahead (I often packed nuts...). I've decided (after my trip last week) that next time I travel I'm buying a travel scale. As a stay at home mom nowadays I don't travel much, but it would have been really helpful last week, so it's worth the investment!

I hosted a babies Halloween party yesterday and didn't expect to be left with a gigantic pile of candy, but I was. I packed a small bag for my son and stepson to have over the next week, watched my husband mindlessly eat a ton of bad candy (we have excellent Belgian chocolate in the basement...) and finally just bagged up all the remaining candy and tied a knot around it so my husband can take it in to work. I had NOT ONE BiTE. No candy, none of the homemade cookies, nothing. Had no attraction for me whatsoever.

Thanks Sue and Tuscany. I leave for the airport at 2.30pm. I hope I have remembered to pack everything. There is so much to remember, gym kit and fitness wise as well. A big bonus is that now I am a small rather than an XXL, I can fit more clothes in the luggage.

Down 1.8lbs today to 169lbs. That's nice. No exercise though, which sucks. I am going to eat a small lunch and then eat on the plane. Looking forward to that. But I will eat healthy (fish if they have it) and no dessert. But plenty of drink.

Wish I had joined earlier. I'm restarting my weight loss journey after years of carb creeping put 20 pounds back on me. Id love to finally reach my goal weight, even if I set it 5 years ago. I did drop four pounds the week Ive been back on the wagon (started last Sunday).

I dropped another half pound this morning, although I'm not overly excited, since it just means I've now gotten back to where I started after 10 days...and during those 10 days, I remained on plan the whole time. I know Ian will agree when I say it gets really tough to lose weight when you're close to goal! :(

I've had a very good week, losses consistently! Big focus on upping the fat, and keeping food to satisfied levels but not eating mindlessly.

Not only did I win the challenge this morning, it's also 20 pounds down!
